Open for 80 years and owned by the same family, that alone was enough to pull us in. Classic roadside diner feel, big hot dog sign, and a simple, no-nonsense menu: a handful of hot dog options, fries, pickles, a house root beer, and milkshakes. We ordered to go so we could get back on the road. Three hot dogs and two orders of fries, which honestly was more than enough fries for all three of us. The hot dog was solid and satisfying, exactly what you want on a road stop, and the real win here was the value. Our entire order came out to a little over $17, which feels almost unheard of these days. This is one of those spots you love to patronize because the people are very friendly, the food is good, and it's not going to break your wallet. My kids love this place and anytime we are on that side of the free bridge it's nearly an automatic that we are stopping in. My one son and I even walked across once during bacon fest because we knew how close we were and wanted to grab one. I love getting dogs with red onions and the ones here are different, but good. Everyone makes them different but these are less sauced and a little less seasoned than I'm used to. Still enjoyable. The one thing I will say that I don't love here is they just toss a slice of American under the dog if you get a chili cheese dog. Would definitely prefer a cheese sauce or finely shredded cheddar on there. Just a preference thing. We will be coming here as long as they're slinging dogs.
