I just love this store and all the employees who work there. I am in there a couple of times a week at least with my various projects. Lately i went in with my granddaughter's scooter as it needed a new bolt. Josiah was assigned to help me with this small project. He was amazing. He knew which bolt it needed right off the bat. Not only did he provide the new bolt, but checked all the remaining bolts on the scooter and rode it around the parking lot to ensure it was safe for my granddaughter. I really appreciated his help! 5/21/26 After shopping at Chaupain, I noticed the Ace Hardware store ad that they sell soil. I needed perlite so I decided to check it out. The outdoor items of the store had soil & amendments and plants for sale. The perlite was for $9.99, yikes! Home Depot sells it for about $5.97. Then I saw it, a beautiful succulent with lots of pups already but it didn't have a price tag. I had a feeling it wasn't going to bode well as this is one of those boutique type of shops at this plaza. It might as well be the Erewhon or Gelson's of home & gardens shops, unlike Home Depot. You know what I mean? Typically this would sell for about $4-7 but it's $9.99! But it's so pretty and it has many pups for me to distribute & repot. Toby at the cashier stand helped me out. He was knowledgeable & amiable. Additionally, he offered valuable info about the lady bugs & praying mantis that are sold to help our ecosystem. I didn't do much browsing, just purchased my succulent and went my merry way. It was a great experience but the prices here are definitely more for upscale shopping. read more

I'm a local realtor, and I came into Crown Ace looking for a way to fasten a "For Sale" sign to a metal post. I figured it would be a quick find, but after walking the aisles and coming up empty, I was about to give up when Tony approached me and said, "Looks like you need help." He was incredibly kind and calm, and even though I wasn't sure there was a solution, he said, "Let me take a look." Within seconds, he had a plan: "You need a hole here, a hole here, and these two screws to secure it." I told him I didn't have a way to make the holes, and without missing a beat, he said, "Don't worry. I'll be right back." A few minutes later, Tony returned--with my sign in hand, perfectly drilled. He then matched up the post, found two screws that fit just right, and personally screwed them in himself. When I asked him what I owed, he smiled and said, "Just 25 cents for this part and 16 cents for the screws." I was honestly blown away. His generosity, problem-solving, and genuine kindness made my day. It felt like a small blessing from the Lord, and I'm truly grateful. Tony, thank you. Just had the worst experience with "Doug" in this store. He had his ACE red jacket on, so I knew he was an employee. I walked into the store to have my keys duplicated and ran into this white-beard man near the entrance. I said," where is the key counter?" He replied, "that's a very good way to say good morning". He then pointed to the corner and said, "that's the key counter Mr. polite". On the way he asked, "where did you go to school" ? I was furious at that point, so I said, "I never went to school" and he replied, "that's apparent". His comments were all rude and unnecessary. Rudeness has no place in business. Next time you go to this ACE and if Mr Doug the white-beard man is around, run run. Run away from his insults. read more

I went in while on a training bike ride with my Bike MS Team, A-Team Amigos, needing a nut & lock washer for a seat bolt. The extremely helpful associate, very tall slender gentleman, knew where to locate the fastener, asked if I needed steel or stainless steel, then pointed out a locking nut to avoid the need for a separate washer. He also loaned me the wrench needed to install the nut, which BTW only cost $.79. This allowed me to have a properly mounted seat for the last 15 miles of our ride today. Every time I come to this m Ace Hardware someone greets you and asks how they can help. Excellent customer service. Today Toby helped me. He was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I just had the worst experience I have ever experienced in a retail store. I went to Ace Hardware to buy some paint and painting supplies. I asked the older gentleman behind the paint counter to assist me with paint and he ended up screaming at me within 5 inches of my face at the top of his lungs. Had to run up to a hardware store to get glue to repair the sole on a shoe. I don't use glue often so I was standing in that section, probably looking confused because of the wide selection. A young employee named Karolyn asked if she could be of help. She very patiently listened to what I needed and why and then described the various products she though would do the job. The STAFF are friendly, helpful and even appear to know the locals by name. I lived in some smaller towns growing up so I appreciate that kind of charm. When I lived in Burbank many, many years ago I used to frequent an Osh or an Ace and liked the vibe there as well. It just feels and looks different than a big box store and that is a good thing in my book. Fortunately they were one of the only stores that had the spray paint in stock that I needed for my project. The pricing was definitely not the best here compared with others and I could have saved significant money but the convenience and "having the merch" won the game. Truth-be-told I do not have money to burn so I will still have to price shop at the various retailers I shop with but I love the layout and the feel here at the Crown Ace and look forward to coming back. read more

I always have the best experience here. They are so helpful and honest and knowledgeable. Yesterday I spent 2 hours at Home Depot mainly because I was waiting to get help. And never got competent help. I was miserable. I came here and within minutes I was greeted and helped for by Ed. He's Competent kind helpful. Staff is great but Ed has been particularly helpful. We visited Crown Ace this week in search of a key fob solution. The key expert, Curtis, was so helpful and patient. He tried several solutions to no avail, but instead of abandoning us, he enlisted the help of Marty, another employee with lots of enthusiasm and professionalism. Marty must have spent about 25 minutes working with us to fix a ridiculous fob issue. Both employees were courteous, polite, and super smart, but additionally they were knowledgeable and absolutely determined to resolve our issue. I couldn't recommend this establishment more. Went to check out today around noon. Lady and younger kid at registers doing nothing. Lady told me go to him. Great service. So I went to him just like she said in her own words. Kid was worthless at the register. Put the receipt on the item that was way back on the counter and then just gave it a shove which did not move to My direction. I've always loved this ACE Hardware store mostly because of the employees. As a woman I've found that I'm not taken seriously at Home Depot...once when I walked into HD to get a masonry bit for my drill I was greeted with "hello ma'am, can I help you find something today? Cleaning supplies?" Therefore I prefer going to ACE or Ganahl where I'm treated respectfully but my most recent experience at this particular Crown Ace Hardware was one for the books...one of those encounters that will probably make me smile years from now and reminded me how much I love people. My dryer wasn't working. Halfway through a mountain of laundry after a week long ski trip (family of 5) it stopped working. It had power but wouldn't start. The door switch and plug was fried ...the switch was easy to find but it plugs into a plastic housing that holds 5 wires which can't be purchased on its own- you have to buy this huge multi wire harness for $170 which was on backorder so I cut the housing off and took it apart so I could figure out a way to connect the wires directly to the switch. I drove all over Garden Grove to various parts stores but what I ended up with didn't work. I found some different connectors (actually disconnects) online and decided to look for them at ACE. I got there an hour before closing and was greeted by Charles "hi. Let me know if we can help you find anything" I usually like to try to locate things on my own but decided to try him out in case he had any ideas I hadn't thought of. I quickly explained to him what I was working on, the issues I'd run into and showed him pictures of the burned and disassembled pieces. I could tell he was unsure and a little nervous about what I was planning to do, as I am not an electrician or a contractor of any kind but he was also somewhat bemused by me and my enthusiasm. After chatting for a bit he began to relax and got excited about my plan to MacGyver my dryer situation and soon he was all in. He got out his amp test meter to figure out what was what on the new switch, he was googling YouTube videos to see if I could possibly bypass it all together, he helped me sort through different connectors to determine which ones best fit the plug, he brainstormed the best way connect the wires while ensuring they didn't touch...he was fully invested and it was closing time! I purchased the 2 different types of disconnects we decided on and some shrink tubing and he wished me luck several times and made me promise to come by and let him know if it worked...and IT DID! Within 20 minutes my dryer was up and running and I can't wait to go in tomorrow and show Charles the picture of my handiwork and the video of my dryer starting right up! read more
