Needing a very specific key blank, I drove from Woodward's Ace Hardware on North Tustin St. in Santa Ana to SAH. Absolutely no comparison. Greeted at the door at Woodward's, quickly directed to the key counter where help was waiting. Clean, well stocked, air conditioned and lighted, easy in/out parking too. SAH felt dusty, hot and dark inside. Waited at the front counter for a bit til an employee greeted me. Nice and knowledgeable but SAH did not have the key blank either. Ended up at A-Abbott Locksmith in Orange who was able to cut me a new key. read more

Holy cow what a fantastic experience! I recently had a large residential screen suffered a nice long slit. Every other screen repair or replace business I checked wanted at least $40 to rescreen it. I dropped by on Saturday @ 2:20, and they did the job on the spot, with a smile and for only 14 bucks! Best part? It took me longer to wander thru the aisles and aisles of great stock/fantastic selection than it took for them to get the job done. I found unique:hard to find Dremel tool items for less than the big box stores....and they have Scruffy and Elvis, the large exotic birds to entertain the kids (and adults too) while you shop. Do yourself a solid, make the trek to Santa Ana and give your business to these nice folks. I can see why they have five stars I went in today to fix my bianchi bike which has been out of commission for the last 3 years I finally decided to get it fixed got a tube replacement light up reflector some new brown leather handlebars and 3mm nuts for my RC car good price. Santa Ana hardware is a great place to check for the hard to find tool or for that item you didn't know you needed yet. They carry a wide variety of tools, saftey P.P.E.,shoes, paint, bikes, outdoor gear and yes even BB guns! I just bought my daughter a toddler bike that was assembled by one of their employees for %50 of what it would cost at . Great prices and a knowledgeable staff with a no rush attitude. read more

This place was unable to help me with my wheelchair due to the wheelchair company placing the bolts I needed replaced where it would take special tools to make the repair. However they sure tried. I didn't get the young lady's name but Ivan really attempted to find the right tools needed. I'm going back to purchase the bolts because they are much harder and won't bend like the cheapies originally put on chair. LOVED that store!!! Old, dusty & stuffed with what everyone could ( except what I needed but that's par for the course). DO NOT PASS THIS STORE AND GO TO A BIG BOX STORE! Support the local economy!!! read more

This hardware store reminds me of McFadden-Dale, but a bit smaller. Plenty of tools, some bath & kitchen fixtures, and they've got bikes...all fixies, but that's all people are buying nowadays isn't it. Lots of bike accessories too...they've got the most awesome bike seat with a back rest! They close early usually. We've driven by this place several times but every other time it was closed. You might want to check this place out before going to that big home improvement store down the way...you might just find exactly what you're looking for, but for less...maybe. read more

Theres something to be said about a neighborhood hardware store. Don't come here expecting a Home Depot or Lowes cause it's not. Santa Ana Hardware is pretty much a cross between a Harbor Freight and a Ace Hardware. LOTS of little specialty fasteners, tools, etc. It's close to my shop so I try to look here before hitting the big box store...I'm rarely disappointed. read more

Love this spot. I live in Santa Clarita and was in this area for work briefly. I had to pick up some straps for my truck so I could bring something home with me and would much rather support a spot like this than a huge chain like home depot. I called ahead o time to make sure they had what I needed, which they did. There was ample parking, which was great. Since I found this hardware store its been my to go spot. Who ever is in charge of what to carry and what brand to sell knows what he/she is doing. They have things from paint, brushes, spray paint, hardware, tools, bikes, flooring, BB rifles, air pressure, working boots (best I've seen so far), pluming, gardening, car stuff, waxing, fans, appliances and so much more. Great Inventory and very knowledgeable people working here, while working on project cars I run into a lot of mistakes where people take short cuts. This time around I had issues with studs being cross threaded. I drove down there and was able to find the tools I needed to fix the job. went in a week or so ago looking for a heavy duty bike chain for my bike motor, I searched everywhere in Costa Mesa and was met with nothing but some help from the orioles guys who led me to the holy grail, Santa Ana Hardware. man let me tell you, this place IS what every local hardware shop DREAMS to be, as soon as I called and explained my issue the man knew exactly what I was talking about. on top of being an incredible hardware store, Santa Ana hardware is the best place for bike and bike motor parts and accessories. they had so many cool items on the wall I had to buy myself some money bar handlebars for my bike. went in today with another problem with my bike (one that I thought not even they could solve) AND THEY FRICKEN SOLVED IT NO PROBLEMO!!! hands down the most legendary employees I've ever encountered. read more
