Excellent BBQ !!! Probably one of the best BBQ brisket I have ever had ... cannot wait to bring others to try his fare

This is one of those businesses that can't seem to be consistent on their location and their hours. Had people over on a Friday night and we decided to all get to bring food back from Crown. Their hours on Facebook and the posting on their food truck says that they are open until 8 p.m. on a Friday. Went their to get food and the sign on their trailer said "closed" and no one was to be found. Our guests replied "that is poor business practice" and we agree. We had no back up plans for food. This is extremely embarrassing. Consistency in business is important. read more

Too expensive. I paid $almost $17. For a brisket sandwich. Coleslaw was extra. Wasn't any better than you regular BBQ pits but coat a lot more. Not worth the cost. read more

Excellent pulled pork and brisket. I have not done food trucks in the past but this one is on our schedule every Friday when it is on site.

Absolutely killer BBQ and sides. Will be coming back often. The prices are very reasonable and affordable in my opinion.

We've been meaning to try Crown for awhile. Barbecue is wood smoked and delicious. Our server was friendly and helpful and the owner talked to us and is very proud of his place, which he should be. My husband finished all of his food but I had to bring about half of mine home (portions are huge). I'm looking forward to the rest for lunch. We'll definitely be back soon. read more

Amazing customer service, owner went out of his way to give me the whole experience. On the food side of things... wow. What a surprise on our way to the beach (OIB) - saw the restaurant on our way down and just had to stop on the way home. Really surprised to find TX style brisket and sausage as well as the NC favorites - pulled pork, pork ribs and a TX twist for pork belly burnt ends! Some smoked turkey on the menu as well. We grabbed two of their specials of the day - smoked burgers with cheese inside, served with some tasty bbq sauce made in house. We also grabbed some TX trinity to enjoy at home - brisket, pork ribs, and jalapeño popper sausage! Upon entering we were welcomed by the staff and offered menus and suggestions. Owner and chef/pit master was friendly as well and thanked us for stopping by. They've only been open since August so get out and support them if you are local and or in the area!! Y'all this Man has skillz! Not only the owner but the cook as well, Christopher Burke, makes the best tasting ribs! My hubby had the pork ribs and I had the beef ribs and let me tell you...tender, succulent, flavorful and homemade sauce to dip or pour! We enjoyed our food while listening to the sounds of Muddy Waters and BB King. Christopher was super nice and fun and treated us like royalty! Oh and make sure you try that Jamaican Ice cream mm..mm..mm so good! Oh and you get big back portions. That's right, you will not be hungry. We had to take food home because we couldn't finish it all. I got a pulled pork sandwich that had enough for 2 sandwiches! Definitely going back! My sister & I had originally passed Crown on our way to the beach last weekend, & almost stopped the car because we could smell the barbecue from the road. On our way home yesterday, we visited Crown after thinking about it all week, & what a great decision that was! Chris was so kind & welcoming as we ordered our food, & he even gave us extra food for the trip home. Every single thing that we had, including the brisket & cheddar sausage that we sampled while we waited, was absolutely delicious. The pork belly burnt ends were phenomenal, as was the brisket, the boss hog pork sandwich, the hoop sausage, the baked beans, - even the bbq sauce & the sweet tea. Everything was amazing, & you can tell that a lot of craft, time, & love is put into every single item on the menu. From the hospitality, to the seasonings, Crown has something special going on. Stopped at 3 on a Thursday afternoon, as their website says they're open 11a.m. to 7 p.m. They had CLOSED signs out at 3, so maybe they're great, maybe their bbq is terrible, guess I'll never know. But I DO love Bennetts in Calabash and Smoked in Shallotte, snd they've always been open when they claimed to be, so that's where I'll go. I stopped back in the summer and picked up an order to go. Food is a little pricey compared to others in the area, restaurant was very warm and service was very slow. The Brisket was good at $30 a pound, Pork BBQ was $20 a pound with no sides, and the &10 a pound for pork sausage had a lot of small chips, what appeared to be bone. read more

The owner is super friendly. He seems so happy to serve his food. I buy the meat by the pound. Love it all. I've gotten the pulled pork, brisket, beef ribs, pork ribs, sausage. It's all good. I've tried most of the sides too. So far, love all that I've had. A must try read more
