The older unit was on its last legs, and we were concerned about it going out when we had guests staying. Lo and behold, the new unit developed a refrigerant leak and stopped cooling when it was 105 degrees today - and we had guests arriving today. There were a number of complications as their repair techs have been very busy, however, Katie did an amazing job working with us today. She started with us at 7am to coordinate a technician visit. There were complications on their end with sourcing the refrigerant and originally was going to be until tomorrow to finalize the job. We explained that this was going to cost us revenue due to reimbursing guests. She took that to heart, personally went to their storage facility to procure the materials, and then coordinated the work this evening. And to top it off, she called just now at 8:30pm to close the loop and insure we knew it was fixed and tested. KATIE IS A SUNLOGIX ROCKSTAR... please give her and the team a big raise. They deserve it. Additionally, we had our solar system with batteries recently installed. They were priced competitively and sized the system well for our needs. Caitlin Kelley the rep for Sunlogix won the bid as she was thorough with her explanations and understood what we were solving for. The other major factor is the fact that they are local. Once the decision was made the process was smooth and seamless. Caitlin was always available to answer questions and her understanding of her product was impressive. It was also impressive that she understood her competition and could address many things we were told by others. While Sunlogix was not the cheapest bid, we felt that their being local was worth a small premium. On the installation side the crew was terrific. They showed up on time, they were efficient with their time, cleaned up well and one could not ask for a better installation experience. They were great at answering questions. Natasha was professional and very clear with communication from the start. She set proper expectations on communication with Tesla would take a week or two. The day she received the go ahead from Tesla she called and scheduled the install asap 4 days out. Later the same day they had a cancellation and were able to get everything scheduled the next day. Anthony and Jeremiah arrived at the beginning of the arrival window! They were professional, great with communication, and ready to work. I had several questions and they were prepared for all of them and super helpful. The battery removal and install took less than an hour. Naturally Tesla's update took twice as long. LOL. Still total time was under 3 hours. I have managed 100s of installers and worked in Solar, this was a fantastic expierence! Because the Tesla 3 has more storage than the 2 I asked about adding some of my Breakers to the back-up and they had options for us to do that. Obviously we Highly Recommend This Team!

The installers were awesome and got me going quickly. So regarding the communication issues I had with the company, things happen, people get busy and sometimes delays do occur. I'm just glad we were able to get everything resolved. Pricing, I did get a couple of additional quotes and Option One blew them out of the water. Could it be those other companies assumed I needed the parts and labor? Maybe, but I was very clear that I had the parts already. Bottom line it never hurts getting quotes and going from there. Service, so I got all the paperwork done yesterday early afternoon and was scheduled today (5/1) at 8am. I do realize there needs to be a buffer between appointment time and actual arrival time, I usually just assume an hour after the appointment time. But the techs were here at almost exactly 8am. As I have very limited knowledge on solar panels, the fact none of them fell off my roof (panels or techs) and nothing blew up, then it's safe to say they did a fantastic job. In the end my system is fixed and I'm happy. Also if I ever need work done on my system again I'm calling these guys up.

So Modern Solar installed our system a few years ago. Initially we were pretty happy with it. It…read morewas a bit pricier than some of the others, but they seemed to know what they were doing. Then last year we discovered a lot of damp spots appearing on our garage ceiling. Every time it rained they got worse. Each of the multiple spots just so happens to be directly under where the mounting for the solar panels were on the roof. Edmund from Modern Solar came out and basically said it wasn't his fault and had nothing to do with the panels, but they re-caulked the posts anyhow. While they were doing that, they disconnected our system. Only thing is, they didn't reconnect it again. So a month or two later we received a couple of large electric bills. Obviously the first thing we did was check the system and discovered it was off. We turned it back on as soon as we realized. Edmund agreed to pay us back for the electric we were billed for. After a number of emails and calls, still no refund. We had 4 professional independent roofers come out to check the work. They ALL agreed that the panel posts had been attached incorrectly with the wrong sealant. Edmund said they didn't know what they were talking about. I guess he's more knowledgeable than a professional roofer, four of them. He refuses to admit his work was at fault, when it's plain to see how the water is getting in. The damps spots are all perfectly aligned with the posts on the roof. Couldn't be any more clear! And FOUR PROFESSIONAL ROOFERS have verified this!! Edmund tried to convince us that rain was probably getting in from over on the opposite side of the roof and dribbling along beams and dropping off above the garage ceiling. And th We understand that you should have your solar systems checked every now and then, and serviced if need be, but the fact of the matter is that Modern Solar used the wrong product from day 1, it has been letting in water, and now it needs to be removed and done properly. So that was almost a year ago now and still no compensation, no apology, nothing. We had eventually just said "ok, just pay us for the electricity we were charged for due to you turning off our system and we'll call it quits" (even though we still need to pay to have the posts re-sealed correctly and the ceiling repainted. But he is now totally ignoring us. Be careful of this guy, he thinks very highly of himself and won't admit he's at fault if anything goes wrong with your system. Our next step will be the small claims court. This could've been taken care of so easily.
