I scheduled an appointment to see their certified Honda CRV-EX L, which was listed price on internet as $21,815. They made so many calls for internet inquiry, scheduling an appointment, appointment confirmation and reminder after I made an internet inquiry. I was so excited to see them and most probably was intended to make deal. We received nice greats, water and the gentleman asked my ID, credit card score if I know and the car I wanted to trade off. I gave all of the information to them and waited for some time. After sometime, the salesman comes with the paper and price list which was one of the most unprofessional starting I ever got in my life. He listed the CRV price as $24,000 (plus some, forgot the actual figure) which was $21,815 in internet and valued my Toyota Camry 2011 as $6,500. The KBB value for my Camry was 9,000 plus and they referred KBB value of my car as $6,500. The Crown Honda may be the best for some customers who do not compare internet price or do not have their trade off. But I would strongly recommend the future customers of the Crown Honda to see the internet price and compare when they bring their price at the desk. read more

Knowing I needed a local Honda dealer when I recently moved to Florida, a friend recommended Crown and her Advisor. I made an appointment because my check engine light was on. I also needed an oil change and tire rotation. The day of my appointment, the engine light had gone off, but it concerned me. It took 2 hours for the oil and tires, and I was given a list of items I was told needed to be done for a total of almost $1,000. I declined because I had just had $1100 service at my NY dealer in October, 6,000 miles earlier, and thought some of those items had been done. When I checked my records I was upset to find that 3 of the items I was told needed to be done had, in fact, been done in NY: Power Steering fluid flush, Coolant flush and a new serpentine belt. When I called Crown, I was told the mechanic that worked on my car was a 'newbie' and would be dealt with. I was asked to return yet again (3rd visit) to have someone else recheck the duplicate items. When I returned, I was told none of those items needed to be done, but I didn't get even the apology I would have received from my NY dealer. Ten minutes after leaving the first appointment, when on the highway and I reached 55 mph, the car started shaking almost uncontrollably. I returned immediately and was told one of my tires had a 'feathered edge' which was causing the problem. They rotated the tires again, but I still have a much slighter shaking at speeds over 75. Even though I made an appointment to return, and was there on time, it took 30 minutes before I was checked in, so I spent another 1 1/2 hours waiting. In total, it took over 6 hours and 3 trips for an oil change and tire rotation, plus gas and time to get there and back each time. Yet, when I went to check out, I was asked if anything was wrong: I didn't seem as cheery and good natured as on my previous visits. !! NEXT: Later, the check engine light came on again. I was told to bring it in and that it would cost $29.99 to have it checked. I complained that I had told them on my first visit that I had a 'free check engine light coupon', but the check was never done. I called another recommended service company, who told me they don't charge for the check, and it could be checked even if the light wasn't on. I decided to take it there and to give up on Crown. BUT before I even got it there for the light, the car started making a scary sound. At first I thought it was something clunking around in the front passenger side wheel, but it kept getting worse. I brought it in to the mechanic, and he told me I was VERY lucky. Two of the lug nuts were missing and the other three were loose!! He tightened the 3 nuts and the sound stopped. He ordered new lug nuts for those that were missing and replaced them the following day. Tomorrow I'll bring it in for the engine light check. I usually don't bother writing complaint letters. And, this time too, I decided just to move on and find a more reliable place to have my car serviced. But, after finding out Crown caused risk to my life, I just couldn't leave it go. Someone needs to know! Searching for the code for my CEL, I came across this site and started reading all the service department complaints. Not being a complain poster, I hesitated. But, since I had sent the above, both to the Crown Service Dept I had the experience with AND a copy to Jim Myers at Crown Group and never received any reply at all and, noticing they actually do read the posts on this site, I'm trying again here. Like I said, the hours and gas money it cost for an oil change and tire rotation were annoying, but that on my THIRD trip for the same issues, someone left the lugs loose enough to fall off and put my life at risk, I'll see if I get any response here besides getting it off my chest. And, btw, the mechanic I brought it to for the check the engine light, did it for FREE! Without a stupid coupon. I also read from reading posts, I could have also brought it to AutoZone to have it checked for free as well. $30 to Crown for the privilege? I don't think so! So much for finding my new Honda Dealer. read more

Mr. Frank Lovett made this purchase a pleasure. I've tried in the past to buy from Crown Honda and wasn't able to because another dealer responded faster and with a better price, but this time, Frank responded practically immediately. I wanted to buy this car from Frank and after I made the deal with him, I received a text from another dealer, which beat Crown's price, but I won't shop the deal I made with Frank. You can buy a Honda anywhere, but its the salesman who make the difference. Frank is now in my contacts and I will support his sales whenever someone asks where to shop. Worst Honda dealer I've ever dealt with. Service department never answers the phone or returns calls after leaving multiple messages. I paid a lot of money for the best warranty they offer only to have Crown Honda fight me tooth and nail on making repairs to well known and documented issues with its multi displacement engine system. Once they finally agreed to do the work they then told me that they don't have loaner cars and I would have to pay out of pocket for a rental. The regional warranty manager happened to be at the dealership that day and after giving him a piece of my mind decided to pay for my rental, acting as though he was doing me a favor none the less. Only to get to the rental company and find out they only authorized me for a tiny four seat suv not a "like kind and quality" loaner as my warranty stated. I have an Odyssey because I have three children in car seats and had to fight with them yet again to get a vehicle appropriately sized. read more

While searching for our new car, we stopped in on VW, GMC, Toyota, Chevy, etc. but had no luck finding a car with the features and price point we wanted. This place is a little disorganized ( they don't have all the pilots together, all the passports together, etc. scattered throughout 3-4 lots)but our Salesperson, Frank Lovett was great at finding all the Pilots on the lot for us. He was very courteous and friendly as he listened to our requests and answered our questions. Frank was knowledgeable about the features of the vehicles and was helpful in guiding us to the right vehicle. Frank made this the easiest purchase experience we've ever had. I had a recall repair done as well as a timing belt assembly/seals/H2O pump replacement and transmission flush/refill. It was an expensive job, to be sure. Service advisor Pete Perrelli was cordial and professionally straightforward about what needed to be done and what my vehicle might need in the near future. My husband purchased a new civic nine months ago from Crown and I went shopping for a used vehicle from them. I found something I liked and made the deal and signed the papers on a 2016 Hyundai. When the vehicle was turned over to me, i was handed one set of keys. I asked about the second set and was told that the previous owner promised to bring them in but never did. I expressed my dissatisfaction but received no resolve and it was late on a Saturday evening. I had to bring the car back for a known repair two days later and spoke to the salesman again. Again no resolve. I talked to the sales manager over the phone and he told me "used cars only get one set". It will cost me $350 to get a second key. I feel I should have been told about this before I signed papers, as I feel it should've been negotiated into the purchase price. After all I spent $50,000 at this dealership withing the past year. Update: I was contacted by a sales manager who arranged for me to meet with their mobile key company to provide me with a second key at their cost. I couldn't be happier! read more

This is my third car purchase from Crown Honda. Edward Mitchem was my sales person and he was wonderful, no hassel and love my car. My only complaint from this purchase is the payoff of my prior car loan. After almost 20 days my bank still has not received the payoff and I cannot get anyone to respond to me about what the status is. First of all, this was the single worst experience of my life. I am 48 years old, a business professional that has purchased numerous cars over my lifetime, and today marks the most humiliating sales experience of all. Last night we went on-line to look for a used Honda van with low mileage. We were directed to Crown Honda to purchase a very nice White, Honda Odyssey for $19,000. I spent several hours comparing this deal to other cars, and felt great about going and looking at the car. I called this morning before driving an hour to their dealership to ensure the car was still available, and at that price. The salesman was very nice, and confirmed it was still available. I drove to the dealership, met with our salesman, test drove the car, spent an hour going over features, loved the vehicle, said I would like to buy it and get the deal done today. (How much more confirmation do you need from a buyer than that?). On the way back to his desk, the sales rep anxiously tells me there are now two other buyers for the car and we should get the deal done quickly, (oh boy, can you feel the set up coming?). We sit down at his desk, he photo copies my license, my insurance card, the standard fare, then prints up his deal sheet for the car at $19,500 and asks me to quickly sign it. What?! You're kidding me right?! He tries a classic "bait and switch". At my complaint, and the mere hint of further negotiation to bring the price in line, the salesman brought the sales manager over to start teh show: "sir you need to sign the deal sheet, we have other buyers lined up for this car". How about financing, how about customer service, how about a polite explanation for the reason the price has gone up??? Sales Manager walks off, comes back five minutes later and informs he sold the car to somebody else. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? He tells me the deal is off and if I'd like to look at other vehicles on the lot the salesman would be happy to help me, but at this time I would NOT BE ABLE TO BUY THIS CAR. Unbelievable. What a total farce. I've heard about places like this, where the dealership will lure in a victim, only to rake them over the coals once the sales process has started. Absolutely INCREDIBLE experience! I actually can't believe people have had bad experiences here haha! I had dealt with a ton of other Honda dealers in the area giving me the run around and not acknowledging that my problem existed. I called Crown and talked to Brooks Falzone who immediately knew what I was talking about and was more than willing to help. Scheduled an appointment for the very next morning. Brought it in, was greeted by a great staff. Found Brooks, went over everything again and also mentioned a small oil leak I had noticed. Without question he also made sure to have the tech (Kris) do an inspection free of charge. Upon inspecting Kris found the leak and a few other odds and ends. He brought me out to the car and clearly showed me exactly what they were. There was no pressure or them trying to strike fear into me to fix them. Just them genuinely going above and beyond to inspect after me bringing up the oil leak. Once Kris fixed the original issue I brought it in for (which was fixed by a computer update) he went as far as to take the car out and drive with me to make sure I felt like it was fixed! Seriously above and beyond service from both Brooks and Kris. Never had such a positive dealer experience. Thank you guys! read more

My wife and I purchased a 2006 Honda Pilot "As-Is." However, upon taking it to a professional mechanic they discovered multiple severe oil leaks. As well as, a faulty computer system that initiates the VSA (vehicle safety assist), among many other issues. The total cost to repair the vehicle is more than the valuation of the vehicle. I'm amazed that they would allow a car to be sold that had such serious mechanical and technical issues. The individual who sold the car to us Paul Velardi was only interested in getting his percentage of the sale. And, after reporting the issue within a few weeks of buying the car Paul wanted us to come in and purchase another one. What a crook. I'm sure I will get the typical response to call a manager to speak to that individual, but, if you're considering purchasing a car from this dealership, don't. I am extremely disappointed and we now own a car that is essentially inoperable. What a joke. read more

Sadly I returned to this location due to proximity and my car wouldn't go over 30 mph. They told me I needed a new catalytic converter and said it would cost 1500 and take two days. I had it towed to another location and they replaced a missing coil and four spark plugs for 300 and it was done in under two hours oh and the converter was fine. Previous to this I brought my car in for a recall they ended up charging me for that too. Avoid this place. read more

Just do you know, as of today July 30, 2018, is still on their lot and is now marked at $25,900, a full $2,000 less than what I had offered to pay for it, and a full $4,000 less than their original price of $29,900 that they weasled me around on. Car dealerships and salesman ARE all the same, and they will screw you the first chance they get. If Crown Honda weren't so GREEDY, they would have made a sale at $27,986 and be more than $2,000 better off than they are now. read more

Upon arrival, I learned that the specific used car I wanted to drive had been sold. Edward had looked in his inventory for another vehicle for me to see. Even though it didn't have everything I was looking for, Edward made sure he knew my list of have to haves. For the next 6 weeks he touched base with me on a weekly pattern, letting me know that he was still looking. Even though I found my car at another dealer, (I visited many) Edward was the ONLY agent that ever called me back after my first visit. Had work done on my A/C compressor a few years ago at this dealership. They heard the noise I was reporting but could not figure out what was causing it for the life of them. They took a TON of things apart in my engine. When I went to leave the last time from the service department, a very loud metal cranking noise (new) was coming from my engine. I parked the car and went back inside and told them something was wrong. Then, a young mechanic comes running out of the service floor area, lifts my hood, tightens a bolt with his wrench, and says "sorry bout that - you should be good to go NOW." Yeah - this is a Honda dealership. Something you might think could happen at a cut-rate mechanic shop. But this Honda. This was in 2012. Since this incident NO MAJOR ENGINE WORK has been performed on my Civic. None. Oil changes, tires, wipers - the normal stuff - but absolutely nothing else major at all. I have since moved to GA. Recently my Civic had some engine noises. Long story short, when the Honda dealership investigated here in GA, they were able to identify that the techs at Crown Honda had PUT THE A/C COMPRESSOR BOLTS BACK IN THE WRONG SPOT on my Civic. All of this resulted in an over-tightening of the tensioner belt, and the bolt snapped, causing a chain reaction of destroyed engine parts in my engine. End result = $903.04 of engine work to my Civic. My first step was to have the service manager here talk to the service manager at Crown Honda (Joe DeLuigi). They talked and apparently Joe DeLuigi didn't feel the need to call me back and let me know what their decision was. I had to call Crown Honda to get answers myself. When I did call back a week later, I spoke with Joe DeLuigi - the current Service Manager at Crown Honda. Joe flat out refused to help in any way and said it was "simply too long ago for him to help me." Keep in mind that NO WORK WHATSOEVER has been done on my A/C compressor since Crown Honda touched it. I said to Jim: "so what do you have to say for your mechanics who put bolts back in the wrong place in my engine block, thus causing all of this damage?" He simply repeated his original statement - "It's simply too long ago for me to help you." Well, unfortunately, Jim, shoddy mechanic work doesn't have an end date. And maybe if the story gets public that your service department FORGOT TO PUT MY CAR COMPLETELY BACK TOGETHER the last time I tried to leave your dealership, you might re-consider my request to help me pay for the damage that your mechanics caused in my vehicle. I have filed an official complaint with the BBB and will also be registering my story and my complaint with several other online sources. People need to know that this happened, and that you refused to help me in any way whatsoever with paying for the unexpected $900 in repair costs directly caused by your dealership. read more

The sale person I got was good, Jonathan was assigned to me from the online sales department since that's where I started. He was very nice and when I wanted to cut to the chase, we did. This was my 4th Honda dealership to visit. The problem I had was being overcharged and errors in the financial/accounting department. I paid cash, but had to put a hold on my car awaiting it's arrival from the factory. $500 to hold it. This was not deducted from the final purchase as I was instructed, even though it was the same car. I didn't catch it since there was a week difference and the charge was pended on my credit card at first. It took 3 months to sort it out, and even when I finally got a random guy on the phone to read my credit card number to for a refund, he had to try about 10 times since he was on cold medicine. I got a refund of $5 and then $495, glad I stayed on the phone since phone tag is such a big part of Crown apparently. Then I go to renew my registration for my birthday 4 months later and find they put a lein on my car under the name of the bank. 1 month later I finally get more than a voicemail to leave a message, and the title lady 'must have been confused' when she saw the cashiers check! Cant tell the difference huh? Maybe work in a different department! Still waiting to get that sorted out but in the meantime I can't go to the DMV and get a copy of my title until that is sorted out. Titles are all electronic only. Happy with my car, but in hindsight I'd have gone elsewhere. read more

Just bought an Accord Hybrid at Crown Honda, St. Pete. Salesman, Bob Appel was strangely straight forward and apparently lacking in BS. I believe I got a pretty good deal, was treated like an adult and everyone I interacted with was courteous and reasonably insistent but not pushy. I mean they do want to sell you a car, after all. It was a pretty good experience. They seemed to have a good inventory, but really I was just looking for a Hybrid Accord, which by the way is a great car. Very disappointed with your dealership tonight. My wife received a phone call last Tuesday from Woody in regards to turning our lease in early tonight. She told him we are not interested in leasing another vehicle. He assured her to come in anyway that you had a customer looking for our make and model. So we looked over the weekend for a specific vehicle that we could flat tow behind our motorhome and secured financing and agreed upon price with another dealership. Upon arriving at Crown I immediately had a funny feeling that this was a bait and switch and I was correct. You had no intention on taking our car in early and there was not a "customer" looking for our make and model. Once it was determined that we were not interesting in leasing another car (as told to Woody last week) you told us we could turn the lease in for 3200 dollars, my response was see you in October. Our time is valuable as my wife and I are professionals and we rearranged our schedules to accommodate yours to bring the car in this evening. I am sad to say that we will be dropping off the Honda in October and we will not being doing business with your dealership again because of this type of practice. read more

I am someone who believes in balance and equal representation. I was standing at the front desk at Crown Honda and the people at the desk were pleasant and welcoming. I waited for my meeting and recognized the email board behind the desk. My visit went well and without stress or issue and I left. Sadly, I returned home to check out reviews. We are pretty quick to criticize and slower to compliment, in light of this I felt compelled to send out a note to balance what I read and experienced. On 1st visit a very pleasant man met me in the parking lot and asked to help and walked me in to locate my appointment. We had a very friendly conversation about the rain. I had a meeting with Karen and then Justin to sign some papers. Both were very professional and helpful. I did have to return as we missed a couple of papers...this happens...Karen had volunteered to maybe meet me, I made the trip back to sign and met with Craig, who was pleasant and helpful. I have been a customer of Crown Honda for years, I have always had my Honda Accord serviced by Crown and up until the past two years, I had exceptional service. I don't know what or why the service has changed, but it has. I brought my Honda in for an oil change and the service manager told me that the battery was not functioning properly and I would need to replace it ASAP. I said I never had any issues with the battery and was told, well it's old, not unusual for it to need to be replaced. So I agreed and they placed a new battery in. Not an issue at all, until the next visit. I came in for another oil change and my first problem was I was told it would be about an hour, 3 hours later my service advisor came and told me about the "problems" with my vehicle. He said my battery was old and was in serious need of replacement, along with other questionable issues. I pressed further for more information about my battery and was told that with a battery that old it's not uncommon for it to go dead and they wouldn't want me to be in a position where the car wouldn't start. I pressed again asking if they are sure that the battery is bad, and I was assured that the battery was shot. As you can imagine the service advisor was shocked when I informed him that they had just sold me a grossly overpriced battery on my last visit. He was dumbfounded. He said he would look into it and he came back and told me that the new battery was actually bad, so they would go ahead and swap it out at no charge. Hmmmm, okay do what you need to. Long story short, I brought the car to a full service gas station in town and asked them if they would take a look at my battery - I asked them if this was a brand new battery and they said it certainly doesn't appear so, it has definitely been in here for a while. So while I realize I didn't pay for the "second" battery, I truly believe that they were just trying to cover their butts and told me that they replaced the relatively new battery but did nothing, except for waste my time. My conclusion is that it's really not worth the added expense to go to the dealership. The only reason that I even decided to write this review is because a friend of mine had a horrible experience at another Crown dealership and I feel that being quiet isn't helpful for others. I used to be a big fan of Crown but I am going to be far more careful when selecting a dealership for my future car need. read more
