Sadly I returned to this location due to proximity and my car wouldn't go over 30 mph. They told me I needed a new catalytic converter and said it would cost 1500 and take two days. I had it towed to another location and they replaced a missing coil and four spark plugs for 300 and it was done in under two hours oh and the converter was fine. Previous to this I brought my car in for a recall they ended up charging me for that too. Avoid this place. read more

Had work done on my A/C compressor a few years ago at this dealership. They heard the noise I was reporting but could not figure out what was causing it for the life of them. They took a TON of things apart in my engine. When I went to leave the last time from the service department, a very loud metal cranking noise (new) was coming from my engine. I parked the car and went back inside and told them something was wrong. Then, a young mechanic comes running out of the service floor area, lifts my hood, tightens a bolt with his wrench, and says "sorry bout that - you should be good to go NOW." Yeah - this is a Honda dealership. Something you might think could happen at a cut-rate mechanic shop. But this Honda. This was in 2012. Since this incident NO MAJOR ENGINE WORK has been performed on my Civic. None. Oil changes, tires, wipers - the normal stuff - but absolutely nothing else major at all. I have since moved to GA. Recently my Civic had some engine noises. Long story short, when the Honda dealership investigated here in GA, they were able to identify that the techs at Crown Honda had PUT THE A/C COMPRESSOR BOLTS BACK IN THE WRONG SPOT on my Civic. All of this resulted in an over-tightening of the tensioner belt, and the bolt snapped, causing a chain reaction of destroyed engine parts in my engine. End result = $903.04 of engine work to my Civic. My first step was to have the service manager here talk to the service manager at Crown Honda (Joe DeLuigi). They talked and apparently Joe DeLuigi didn't feel the need to call me back and let me know what their decision was. I had to call Crown Honda to get answers myself. When I did call back a week later, I spoke with Joe DeLuigi - the current Service Manager at Crown Honda. Joe flat out refused to help in any way and said it was "simply too long ago for him to help me." Keep in mind that NO WORK WHATSOEVER has been done on my A/C compressor since Crown Honda touched it. I said to Jim: "so what do you have to say for your mechanics who put bolts back in the wrong place in my engine block, thus causing all of this damage?" He simply repeated his original statement - "It's simply too long ago for me to help you." Well, unfortunately, Jim, shoddy mechanic work doesn't have an end date. And maybe if the story gets public that your service department FORGOT TO PUT MY CAR COMPLETELY BACK TOGETHER the last time I tried to leave your dealership, you might re-consider my request to help me pay for the damage that your mechanics caused in my vehicle. I have filed an official complaint with the BBB and will also be registering my story and my complaint with several other online sources. People need to know that this happened, and that you refused to help me in any way whatsoever with paying for the unexpected $900 in repair costs directly caused by your dealership. read more

Just bought an Accord Hybrid at Crown Honda, St. Pete. Salesman, Bob Appel was strangely straight forward and apparently lacking in BS. I believe I got a pretty good deal, was treated like an adult and everyone I interacted with was courteous and reasonably insistent but not pushy. I mean they do want to sell you a car, after all. The sale person I got was good, Jonathan was assigned to me from the online sales department since that's where I started. He was very nice and when I wanted to cut to the chase, we did. This was my 4th Honda dealership to visit. The problem I had was being overcharged and errors in the financial/accounting department. I paid cash, but had to put a hold on my car awaiting it's arrival from the factory. $500 to hold it. This was not deducted from the final purchase as I was instructed, even though it was the same car. I didn't catch it since there was a week difference and the charge was pended on my credit card at first. It took 3 months to sort it out, and even when I finally got a random guy on the phone to read my credit card number to for a refund, he had to try about 10 times since he was on cold medicine. I got a refund of $5 and then $495, glad I stayed on the phone since phone tag is such a big part of Crown apparently. Then I go to renew my registration for my birthday 4 months later and find they put a lein on my car under the name of the bank. 1 month later I finally get more than a voicemail to leave a message, and the title lady 'must have been confused' when she saw the cashiers check! Cant tell the difference huh? Maybe work in a different department! Still waiting to get that sorted out but in the meantime I can't go to the DMV and get a copy of my title until that is sorted out. Very disappointed with your dealership tonight. My wife received a phone call last Tuesday from Woody in regards to turning our lease in early tonight. She told him we are not interested in leasing another vehicle. He assured her to come in anyway that you had a customer looking for our make and model. So we looked over the weekend for a specific vehicle that we could flat tow behind our motorhome and secured financing and agreed upon price with another dealership. Upon arriving at Crown I immediately had a funny feeling that this was a bait and switch and I was correct. You had no intention on taking our car in early and there was not a "customer" looking for our make and model. Once it was determined that we were not interesting in leasing another car (as told to Woody last week) you told us we could turn the lease in for 3200 dollars, my response was see you in October. Our time is valuable as my wife and I are professionals and we rearranged our schedules to accommodate yours to bring the car in this evening. I am sad to say that we will be dropping off the Honda in October and we will not being doing business with your dealership again because of this type of practice. read more

Got a cute car, but really BAD BAD post sale service. First, the "manager" didn't know how any of the audio worked. Then, there was a BIG LIE about the "included" ProPack. Basically, when I didn't have floor mats, they said mats weren't included, but wheel locks weren't. Then when I pointed out I didn't have wheel locks, they threw in s cargo net (which should be included anyway). Now I have to spend $238 on the trunk cover which should be included as well (but isn't). Another manager told me that I should have inspected the car better and asked for the things I didn't see!! read more

RUN FAR FAR AWAY! I bought a jeep from them and not even a week later the ball joint broke while I was driving it! Not only did they refuse to fix it, they completely ignored me until I filed a complaint with the BBB. Even after that they only gave me 1/4 the cost to repair it. The customer service is at best pathetic. On top of everything the sent me the wrong tags for it but it didnt matter anyway because it broke down again while they sending me the right tags. I waited for my meeting and recognized the email board behind the desk. My visit went well and without stress or issue and I left. Sadly, I returned home to check out reviews. We are pretty quick to criticize and slower to compliment, in light of this I felt compelled to send out a note to balance what I read and experienced. On 1st visit a very pleasant man met me in the parking lot and asked to help and walked me in to locate my appointment. We had a very friendly conversation about the rain. I had a meeting with Karen and then Justin to sign some papers. Both were very professional and helpful. I did have to return as we missed a couple of papers...this happens...Karen had volunteered to maybe meet me, I made the trip back to sign and met with Craig, who was pleasant and helpful. I have been a customer of Crown Honda for years, I have always had my Honda Accord serviced by Crown and up until the past two years, I had exceptional service. I don't know what or why the service has changed, but it has. I brought my Honda in for an oil change and the service manager told me that the battery was not functioning properly and I would need to replace it ASAP. I said I never had any issues with the battery and was told, well it's old, not unusual for it to need to be replaced. So I agreed and they placed a new battery in. Not an issue at all, until the next visit. I came in for another oil change and my first problem was I was told it would be about an hour, 3 hours later my service advisor came and told me about the "problems" with my vehicle. He said my battery was old and was in serious need of replacement, along with other questionable issues. I pressed further for more information about my battery and was told that with a battery that old it's not uncommon for it to go dead and they wouldn't want me to be in a position where the car wouldn't start. I pressed again asking if they are sure that the battery is bad, and I was assured that the battery was shot. As you can imagine the service advisor was shocked when I informed him that they had just sold me a grossly overpriced battery on my last visit. He was dumbfounded. He said he would look into it and he came back and told me that the new battery was actually bad, so they would go ahead and swap it out at no charge. Hmmmm, okay do what you need to. Long story short, I brought the car to a full service gas station in town and asked them if they would take a look at my battery - I asked them if this was a brand new battery and they said it certainly doesn't appear so, it has definitely been in here for a while. So while I realize I didn't pay for the "second" battery, I truly believe that they were just trying to cover their butts and told me that they replaced the relatively new battery but did nothing, except for waste my time. My conclusion is that it's really not worth the added expense to go to the dealership. The only reason that I even decided to write this review is because a friend of mine had a horrible experience at another Crown dealership and I feel that being quiet isn't helpful for others. I used to be a big fan of Crown but I am going to be far more careful when selecting a dealership for my future car need. read more

I would avoid this dealership like the plague! Horrible unprofessional experience. Have bought many cars in my long life from Hondas (several) to Rolls Royce and never been treated as badly, I walked out and went Courtesy Honda of Palm Harbor where I was treated with respect and courtesy and within 3 hours left with my car as a thoroughly satisfied customer. On Thursday I saw on line that Crown had a 2015 Civic with extremely low miles. Having confirmed its availability I drove the 45 minutes to the dealership. The salesperson I had spoken to (Lugo) was busy with another customer so he assigned me to Ms. Rosen who was delightful and the only good thing about the place. We test drove the car which was excellent and I sat down with the sales manager (Marvin Tucker) and after some good natured haggling over my trade we reached agreement on price which was written up and signed. I always said and wrote that any deal would be subject to my wife seeing the car the next day I offered a substantial deposit which they said they could not accept on a pre owned car!(Never heard of a dealership refusing a deposit!) I left around 5pm and said that I would be back with my wife at 2.00pm the next day. At 10.00am salesman Lugo called me to confirm that I would be at the dealership at 2.00pm I confirmed that of course I would be there. When he called I was sitting with my banker arranging the finance for the car which I thought I had bought. I arrived at the dealership precisely at 2.00pm and as I walked in with my wife we were told that the car was sold to someone else who was in the finance office at that time. I offered to write a check or the full amount there and then but was told it was already sold. I thought it was a late April fool. The sales manager (Tucker) was not apologetic and actually rude I think to the embarrassment of Ms. Rosen and even Lugo. It was a disgrace. I left the dealership and drove the 30 minutes to Courtesy Palm Harbor where they had a similar car for sale. They lived up to their name of Courtesy and the sales manager Jay Feret spent 2 hours with me and the delightful new salesperson Kari Dominguez and I left very happy with the deal and the way I was treated. As my wife remarked it was like going from Motel 6 to the Four Seasons! There are plenty of Honda dealerships in the area and my advice would be to make the drive to Courtesy Palm Harbor and avoid Crown. Anthony V read more

First let me start by saying I had an 845 appointment time and was promised my car would be finished between 1030-11A. By the Assistant Manager Michele. It is now noon and I am still waiting. For what you ask? An oil change and the wheels to be put back on my car. I brought my vehicle in for a test on my antilock braking system. Learned it was a wheel bearing issue and was quoted an outrageous price of $500+ with parts and labor. Funny how I can get the same exact service at the family owned shop up the street and walk out the door for under $400. Rising Sun Automotive has been working on my vehicle and family's vehicles for over ten years. (I was directed to Honda to test my ABS system by then otherwise I would've never came). After learning my ABS wasn't the issue, Honda wanted nothing more than to suck the dollar right out of my pocket. Thankfully, there are still reputable companies with amazing individuals who run them without having to question the level of service. (Or breaking the bank) Stay far away from here unless you're under warranty or have money to blow blow blow. Had a very pleasant shopping experience with two of their sales staff. I was shopping for a Camry or Accord. I was leaning to the Honda. The only problem was you get the configuration Honda wants to give you, not what you want. I wanted the sport, but it didn't have the available options. That was a problem. I was going to consider not getting the sport to get the options I wanted. But I had to think about it. The price between the Honda and Camry was close and not the factor in making a decision. I was getting ready to leave and they were giving me the print out like all the dealers do. I was 90% going with the Honda and the sales guys at Crown. Then the big man from Lauderdale who can make the big deals came out to talk to me. all he was telling me is how he's the one that can make the deal and discount the vehicle like no one else. I explained that I was happy he could do that. but I have to pick the car I want first. The money was not the issue. Like a scumbag he points at the two stickers on the car and says how much he can discount. He's using 3 fingers to point at the two stickers. I had to ask which sticker he was pointing at 2 times before I had to point to each one and ask. When he figured out I was not buying at that time he refused to give me the price the salesmen worked out and walked away. I didn't want a bottom line price, but wanted to have an Idea of the price of the car that I spent 90 minutes looking at. The Sales guys had a look of embarrassment. I had them get their boss. When he came out, I explained how nice the sales guys were. I also explained they got to witness the big man from lauderdale blow any chance of selling me a car. I'm a car guy and so naturally when my parents were in the market for a new vehicle I was helping them look, I spent about a week doing exhaustive research on vehicles and of course looking for the best deal. We had Multiple V.I.P appointments set up, we weren't sure what we wanted and where we wanted to buy from. That is where Sara Walters comes in. I'll tell you this much right now , If it wasn't for Sara we would have went to another dealership because it started out rough, First off I don't want to say any names but if they read this they will know who they are, when I originally called they seemed quick to get off the phone and it turns out the information they gave me on a certain vehicle was incorrect to begin with. Then to top that off I tried to call Them back with a question and it took like a day to a day and a half to return my call (Not good) you know what they say time is money. you lost the sale!! Then we go to our scheduled meeting only to find out that the salesman I was supposed to meet with filled our V.I.P. appointment with another customer(WOW!!!) We were about to leave Then alas Sara, after she stepped in it quickly became a pleasant experience, she went far above and beyond the norm( phenomenal customer service) and made us feel comfortable with not just staying to speak with her but buying a vehicle with her. Sara is a major asset for Crown Honda and I hope they know it. If it wasn't for Sara we would have bought elsewhere no question about it. If you are reading this Sara "Thank You!" Thank you for everything you truly were a breath of fresh air. Sara gave us an absolutely beautiful, immaculate vehicle with a deal you just absolutely could not refuse, Ryan Duggins also played a role in the warranty that just took that vehicle to a whole new level. This review is based on the Service/Maintenance Department. I went to Crown Honda to have my rear brake pads replaced. They said the rotors needed resurfacing, too, so I had both done. I think I received good service for the replacement. But, I was taken aback by the printed list of 8 items they said needed to be repaired/replaced either immediately or in the near future. Those items are indicated with either a red flag or a yellow flag on a printed list. The recommended repair items range in price from $83.49 to $524.35 for a total of $2,037.53. Strangely, one of the items is part of the regular maintenance service Honda documents in its service manual, but is not until I drive another 15,000 miles. A couple of other items I have had done within the last 2 years. My previous Honda certified garage gave customers a written document of Honda recommended items to check at certain mileage and certain items they recommend replacing at a mileage or time milestone, like fluids and filters. If just a gasket or o-ring needed replacing, they did only that rather than replacing a part, which I really appreciated. (Follow-up - another garage recommended a gasket be replaced on one piece of equipment, rather than the whole part this location did.) I feel most comfortable with a conservative approach. I follow the recommended servicing schedule from Honda and when possible have Honda-certified mechanics work on the car. Crown Honda does provide a clean and quiet area for you to wait on your car, with vending machines for small snacks and drinks. They also have a children's area. They were very pleasant and had the right number of people to assist you as you drive up and check in for your appointment. They carefully covered the seat with plastic and the carpeted mat with a paper barrier. I definitely appreciated that, since the tire place I went to recently didn't use a paper barrier and put grease on my carpeted mat. read more

Service department is the absolute worst. After making an appointment for a safety recall, I waited an hour before they told me the part was not available and said they would contact me when the part was in. They never did. I ended up both emailing and calling Crown and after many months l was able to get service. During the accompanying "maintenance check" I was told I needed a new battery and my tires were under inflated. After I paid them for a new battery install and was on my way home, I noticed on my dash indicator that they hadn't put air in my tires that they themselves indicated they would do. To save myself more time and aggravation, I ended up pulling into a gas station near home to properly inflate the tires myself. read more

We were looking for our daughter her first car that she was going to make her own payments on. She has been driving a 1999 Lexus RX300 that was still a good car but needed something with better milage for driving to and from college. We Visited several lots but found a 2015 Civic online with under 15,000 miles with leather. Stopped at Crown Honda and Ralph Carter came out to help us. The car had come in as a trade in Saturday and had not been cleaned up yet but we could tell this was going to be a good car for her. Test drove and liked it. Worked the numbers and agreed on price. They kept car to clean and certify it and we came back Monday afternoon to complete the deal. Drives and looks like a brand new car. Ralph was not pushy. Just wanted her to like and have a good car. long story short. Intermittent AC. It seemed to me an electrical issue because pushing AC switch over and over could get it to work again. tech said low on Freon and water in system. I balked and searched internet. HONDA owners if your AC will not stay on.... google Honda POWER RELAY on Amzn. it could be a 20 dollar fix. What really irked me this is a KNOWN issue. Srvc mgr said there were no elect components involved. very sad that this was not checked first POWER RELAY under hood turns the compressor clutch on and off if this is defective ...NO AC. 75 dollar "diagnosis" not refunded so i will take it out on social media read more

I had an appointment to replace a tire sensor, a 10 minute job. After a two hour wait I asked the representative what the problem was and was told they were working on it. At the three hour mark I walked into the garage and was quickly stopped and told I couldn't be in there. I looked in and my car was not even in the garage! I went back to the representative and was told it was in a different area behind the one I had looked at. At this point I walked around the building and they had just started working on on the car. The mechanic apologized and said that he would get to it right away but he was working on three vehicles. 10 minutes later the car was pulled around in front. I walked The vehicle was pulled in front of the shop. I walked back to the representative to check out. I waited while she busied herself with no one, and it took 20 minutes before she checked me out. I walked out to my car after 4 hours!
