I start off by seeing a rip in the current--I ain't no investigator but it looks domestic--next one bed at cigarette burns at first glance. Futher more the other bed had what looks like to be pubic hair and yellow stains. But I wouldn't say this is the worst. No. The worst would be the red--what appeared to be blood--stain, hanging smoke detector, and the broken light. Looking closer--because you know don't judge right away--there was makeup on the head more so this all brought me to the fact this must be a prostitute hotel. The hotel is in a state of owner cost reductions that can be seen quite easily. While staff were friendly and my room was clean-"ish", those were the highlights...even though they shouldn't have been. The worst part was the bait and switch breakfast, which I'll get to. The ice makers on all floors were broken, there is a dangerous strewn mountain of aluminum siding in the parking lot, and the place is completely overgrown with chest high weeds. The bathroom ceiling had cracks and drywall chunks coming off. The tub had a residue on it like there had been something big stuck to it, all the way around...and then was removed just leaving this extensive dirty looking miscolored ring. You can see the rusted out Crown Plaza service van, surrounded by overgrown weeds, from a long ago time when this facility used to have to maintain standards for a corporate license. The clearest owner penny pinching service reduction was the "Breakfast", which can not over emphasize...was just not. On every travel site looked at for this location (including their own) it listed and showed full breakfast buffet. It's why booked it, at it's price point. They show pictures of what is now a permanently closed restaurant around their pool area (which photographed as well), with a beautiful buffet area. It would have been great if it weren't a mirage. What there is now, is a depressing converted former bar area across from the check in desk. Over a 40 foot sparsely utilized area you will find a waffle maker (the highlight of this sadness), a lukewarm (at 8am) coffee station, a fridge (probably one the removed from the rooms) mostly empty with 1 type of yogurt, a bowl of apples, and 2 bowls of either instant oatmeal packets or trial size cereals boxes. THAT'S IT. No continental breakfast (not one danish, bagel, bread, muffin, ect), no buffet that they pretend to have. Just a display that looks about as well put together and as rushed as a child's lemonade stand, and a parade of depressed and visibly upset guests coming down to find this pitiful excuse of a breakfast amenity attempt. It feels like they lost a food service license...but everything else slowly decaying around this facility just tells you...no, the owner is a greedy buck squeezer whose last thought is maintaining any customer amenities. A bottom liner, letting this facility slowly fade away as they lose corporate affiliations. Literally the last impression left with you as you get ready to checkout is this spite breakfast. You instantly feel swindled. You will have to add the cost of a breakfast elsewhere to the bottom line in your travel planning So if you are dieting, diabetic, or someone who likes to actually eat "FOOD" at breakfast time, that is not what you will receive here. Be prepared to find a restaurant somewhere else, or just book a hotel that isn't trying to book guests on penny pinching lies. read more

This place had a very low budget feel. Buttons on the elevator were broken as were all the ice machines. We had brought a small cooler and thank heavens we did since the rooms did not come with mini fridges but had to buy ice. The icing on the cake was our car along with several others having our car windows smashed. Only reason we booked was it was pet friendly. Definitely not human friendly. I'm only giving three stars due to good location- everything else was more like 1 or 2 star worthy. The worst part of our stay was the king mattress, it was extremely uncomfortable- there was a big lump in the middle of the mattress and then each side felt like you were sliding off the bed and felt like the springs were all broken. It was so bad we asked for a cot- but they didn't have one available. The bathroom was not nice and the exhaust fan made horrible squeaking noises. There was a hole in one bedroom door, and the main room door was broken so if we didn't close the door and then jiggle the handle, if remained unlocked and anyone could walk right in! The a/c was subpar and didn't get as cold as we'd like. The breakfast "buffet" was only continental, the website made it seem like there'd be eggs and meats, and pancakes but there were not. The website shows a restaurant inside the hotel, but that wasn't up and running. On a good note, the pool was decent and most of the staff were kind and helpful. read more

I asked for a weird time 810 am. Guy claimed it was set. I worked for five years at a hotel. Only way it can be messed up is if not done intentionally. Signage as far as finding the rooms is really really really bad. Can't set AC unit to keep fan running. I like the white noise. Kinda annoying as this is standard stuff on all other units. FYI I am a IHG gold elite. Stay in Crownes often. Never had one miss a wake-up call. read more

Normally, you can't go wrong with a Crowne Plaza. What I wasn't told when booking on their website was that this location was recently sold and became a Quality Inn. I've stayed in worse hotels, but this is one I'll never use again. The bed was mediocre, the wi-fi was intermittent and the breakfast was lousy and served on paper plates. I am rating this hotel based on the meeting room service only. (we stayed here once in 2013). This hotel is conveniently located off Exit 15 - Pfeiffer Road on I-71. We use it for our monthly meeting as we have professionals coming from all over the Cincinnati area, so it is very easy for everyone to get too. The staff here are very accommodating and very nice. They are always very attentive. The hotel is a older property and could use a good overhaul to really live up to the Crowne Plaza - IHG standard. read more

IMO, this hotel earns a solid 3 stars, and could possibly eek out 3 1/2. Crown Plaza's website gives this hotel 4/5 stars supposedly based upon user reviews, as did a few other hotel review websites. IMO, that's a bit high. I arrived, got checked in right away by the friendly attendant at the front desk and she explained that, if I wanted to park at an entrance closer to my room, I could pull my car around to door A and enter there, rather than going through the lobby. Since it was friggin' FREEZING cold on the day I was here, I ran back out to my rental car, pulled around, scored a spot directly in front of door A, grabbed my paperwork from the back seat and my luggage from the trunk, froze my a$$ off while walking up to "door A" and of course, none of my room keys would get me into that door, I just got red lights on the card reader. So off I moved as quickly as I could back to the lobby with my luggage in one hand and some business paperwork in the other before I froze. My room was on the second floor, so I began searching for an elevator. There are none in the lobby area and there were none in the area where my room was located. It turns out that you need to walk through the large, expansive but covered central atrium/courtyard area that contains a restaurant, bar and swimming pool, and on the opposite side of the hotel from the lobby and my room, there are 2 sets of elevators. One takes you up to the 2nd floor of the new section of this hotel where you need to then use a staircase to get back to the section where my room was located, or there's another elevator where you'll take a ramp over to the original hotel building and then another set of stairs to reach the 2nd floor of the original section of this hotel where my room was...A bit disjointed to say the least, and this means the rooms on the second floor of the original section are NOT recommended for the elderly, handicapped or those with lots of luggage as it's impossible to avoid using stairs to get there. While walking through this center atrium area, I noticed 2 things that were blindingly apparent: 1) One can tell that the roof over the atrium isn't original, as it's notched out so it doesn't cut off the view into the atrium from some of the rooms, and 2) The rooms on one side of this covered courtyard area had brick facades that had been painted, while the rooms on the other sections had stucco facades. It looked to me like this must've been an old hotel, had been renovated and someone attempted to polish up an old property and added additional rooms and a roof. Turns out I was right. When I got to my room, I grabbed the hotel directory and read that the original section of this hotel was built in 1969 and opened as a Ramada Inn. In 1980, the newer sections of the hotel were added, as was the roof over the once outdoor pool and restaurant; this created the covered courtyard/atrium area that's now in the center of this hotel. This property became a Best Western in the 1990s, a Clarion in the 2000s, and in 2007 it was renovated to the best of their ability and became the Crowne Plaza it is today. Now that that's out of the way, here's my summary: Staff are all very friendly and all spoke to me whenever I passed them. The rooms and hallways are freshly decorated and modern looking, but the rooms are quite small, and the lack of elevators and the disjoint between the old and new sections which are supposedly on the same floor is a joke. Furnishings, bedding, draperies and A/C unit in the room looked newer, as did the granite countertops in the bathroom, but several of the ceramic floor tiles in the bathroom were cracked, the grout was filthy and stained and the bath tub had been touched up with paint in places. They offer free WiFi which you'll use a code they'll give you at the desk to access, but it was a bit slow, even at off-peak times. The restaurant here is acceptable with an OK variety. Sandwiches with chips are $7-9 on average. I had a blackened salmon salad, cup of soup and a soda. The piece of fish that was on my salad was quite large and the total cost of the meal was $17 before tip which was reasonable. There are a few restaurants within walking distance, all of them appeared to be chains. They have an acceptable business services area with 2 computers and an OK gym with enough equipment for maybe 2 or 3 people to use at the same time if one does strength training while the others do cardio. You can also use the fitness and health center across the street if you purchase a $10 pass here at the hotel. As mentioned, 3 stars, maybe 3 1/2. I booked this room through Priceline, so I paid $35 per night less than the normal rate that's quoted through one of the hotel booking sites. We booked two rooms and got to the hotel yesterday around 3, right on time for check-in. The power was out when we arrived, which, okay bummer but nothing we could have ever controlled. They couldn't check us in at all or let us go to our rooms. They had some paperwork out and found my name but couldn't do anything otherwise. It all felt very "shrug, good luck." We asked how long they thought it'd be out, they said two to three hours. We were going to a wedding and had to change in the dim bathrooms and do our makeup in the dark. That was annoying but we made it work. We left our luggage in the car and caught an uber to the wedding venue. When we got uber back to hotel around 11 that night, drunk, we were dismayed to see the power hadn't come back on. When we walked in, they told us they couldn't check us in still and that we'd have to go somewhere else. They never offered to call around, just gave us an option that MIGHT have rooms. Luckily we got a full refund, but what a way to end the night. We had to drive ourselves to another hotel nearby, and their rate was significantly more expensive. I'm happy we found rooms though but damn, Crowne Plaza. That's not the best way to treat your customers. read more

Brides beware! I booked a block of hotel rooms here 6 months in advance of my wedding, only to find out a month before the wedding from my guests that our guests were being turned away due to the hotel giving away the rooms they had promised to block off. No one from the hotel even bothered to call and inform me of this; I had to follow up with them, only to be told that "there is nothing we can do for you; unfortunately, your rooms were given away it appears." The Director of Sales, who I had originally worked with to set everything up, never reached out to me during this ordeal. One of his staff members did his dirty work. I would not recommend this hotel for an event or for any other occasion. read more

My family of four stayed at this hotel recently as part of a group requiring approximately 36 rooms. Many people complained of mold, bugs, stained sheets and overpricing during their stay. My review is based on my personal experience. There was no elevator in one side of the hotel and we were told to carry our multiple bags up the stairs. No mini fridge or microwaves in the rooms. The decor was very dated and they provided a curtain instead of a closet door. The bathroom was small and the toilet emitted a high whistling noise each time it was flushed. The thermostat was difficult to use and the unit alternated between hot and cold air. There was water damage on the ceiling as well. This hotel does not live up to the Crowne Plaza name in the least. read more

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza Blue Ash twice this past weekend and could not have been more pleased with the facility and staff. Stayed on the "Quiet Zone" floor and it was comfortable and cozy ...and quiet. The front desk staff and breakfast staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was great and though we didn't eat a meal in the restaurant we did enjoy cocktails there and we found it attractive and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will stay there again in the future. read more

Their own tech agreed their internet is terrible. Their scanner and PC would not save to my usb stick. The pool is too cold. I asked for a carwash suggestion that took my ten miles away. There is one behind the gas station right next to his hotel. I can't see why anybody would eat at their overpriced, mediocre choice restaurant. The toilet in my room barely flushed. The bathroom floor times are glass slick when damp. The room heating/cooling needs to be off to comfortably talk on the phone. In short, like other Crowne Plaza hotels I have been in, everything is shabbier that the image they are trying to have. I sometime get stuck with them since my company has a contract with them. I wasn't sure what I was walking into based on reading other reviews and while there were a few things spot on, for the most part, I would say people are too picky. The desk staff could be friendlier, but it was certainly a quick and efficient check-in. I totally got lost trying to find our elevator, but it was partly because it was Easter Sunday and every person in the city was in the lobby. I was disappointed no one asked them to move into the Atrium, or at the very least away from the desk. They certainly didn't move for us. However, once we found the elevator, we quickly found our room and I was very pleased. We weren't spending much time on the property, so all we were looking for was a working television/remote, hot water, and a comfortable bed. My husband fell in love with the pillows and says the mattress gave him the best he has had in a while and now I guess we're mattress shopping because ours doesn't compare. The room was clean, but some preventative maintenance needs done on the shower faucet and recaulking around the tub. Otherwise, we had a wonderful night's stay. I loved looking out our 3rd floor window, overlooking the Atrium and seeing the Real Tree lit up with twinkle lights. I inquired about the plants because real plants go a long way in a hotel. We stayed overnight this past weekend while in town. The rooms are clean, the staff is very friendly and professional. The room we stayed in was updated with a flat screen. The only complaint that I have is that our bed was not very comfortable - but I'm used to laying on a very soft bed. You can tell the hotel is older, but they have some some modernizing to help take away from the appearance of the outside of the hotel. The doors to the rooms are a bit old and ours was tricky to open. But I would stay here again. read more

I will break this one down. The restaurant and staff get a minimum of 4 and pushing a 5. Had the steak and it was very good. The bartender was excellent as well. Very attentive even with many there. Now, as for the hotel, it was nice. The room was updated and as you would expect from an IHG property but when finding a shower not clean that took my rating down. That is no fault of the property other than the housekeeping staff. Its a simple mistake but one that can cost dearly. I despise finding hair on the wall and in the bottom of the shower since its a simple thing to take care of. My only other complaint would be the internet. I am in Cincinnati for business. I was looking for a nice hotel for a few nights and decided on the crown plaza. It's an upscale hotel with a holiday in express rate couldn't beat it. Once I arrived the staff was nice and friendly. However as I made my way to the room I realize why it was priced low because the hotel is very outdated and in need of a reservation. There is a formal restaurant and bar in the front of the hotel and then a breakfast bar in the holi-dome area. There is a nice pool for the kids to swim and fitness area. There are plenty of meeting rooms to hold conferences if needed. In the future I think I will opt for a more renovated hotel as this one seems to be past its prime. read more

Front desk service was excellent; the staff were quick and wasted no time. The lobby was nice; it was decorated quite nicely, and it had all sorts of nice add-ones like a bar, a buffet area, and a pool. The rooms, however, are mediocre, especially on the first floor. The first floor rooms are especially filthy from the abuse they take from families with kids who use them just together a room near the pool, and the cleanup still leaves some behind. The bathroom is the filthiest; if you look closely, you might see some drops of residue on the walls. The walls are also very thin, which can make sleeping difficult if you're bothered by background noise. If you plan to stay here, I'd recommend staying away from the first floor so you're more likely to get a clean room. Although the lobby looks nice and welcoming, the rooms are sub-par. Therefore, I would not recommend this hotel unless you're on a budget and have no other choice (they charge rather low). read more

pulled up outside the front doors of the hotel. didn't have much room as the hotel van was taking up most of the room under the covered area. I opened the driver door and immediatly was ingulfed with cigarette smoke into my vehicle. I asked the desk clerk if they were aware of the issue and he shrugged his shoulders at me. so they have you sign a contract not to smoke in the hotel but it's ok if you vehicle is damaged by someone else's smoke outside in the entry way. 120 dollars I could of stayed at a much nicer hotel. Room: beds were not comfortable, at all. My back still hurts. There was no safe in the room let alone a microwave or a mini fridge. The coffee maker was in the bathroom, which doesn't seem sanitary. The room was cleaned vary haphazardly. Breakfast: not good. The eggs were powdered eggs ( not edible ), sausage was gray, you had to wait for coffee and the staff was in no hurry to make sure you had it . The buffet area was a complete mess!!! It was disgusting. We bought 3 days of breakfast and only used one day- as our friends who also stayed in the hotel. ( My husband and I were in town for a wedding celebration we were hosting to celebrate our recent nuptials and I was embarrassed that I suggested this hotel to our guests ). Hotel premises: very noisy, thin walls, not enough elevators and very outdated. Staff: Not professional. Friday night the people at the front desk were confused about how late the breakfast was served Saturday, our friends and us were given different times. This morning checkout was extremely uncomfortable. When we arrived at the front desk, the hotel staff member asked us how our stay was and I explained that we had some issues ( which I outlined above), the person offered for us to talk to a manager and we declined because we saw our airport transportation pull up to the front door. Then the situation became very uncomfortable because the person kept insisting we talk to the manager ( who was busy helping another guest) and we had to decline multiple times. Overall very unpleasant experience. I would not recommend staying here. read more

We stayed at this location because it is between downtown Cincy & Loveland, where my husband's family lives. It is definitely convenient & we will be staying there again. Free wi-fi is a nice perk and the front desk was friendly & quick. My only complaint is that the 2nd to the last day we were there, we were in the room until about noon. We left & did not return until after midnight. They never came to service our room in that 12 hour period. That meant the next morning I had to call for fresh towels so we could shower & check out. They brought me 2 bath towels only! The rest of our towels were on the floor so that housekeeping could have easily pick them up when they should have service the room the day before.
