When I entered the hotel, there was no one at the front desk to greet me for about 5 minutes. The staff does not provide a warm welcome, very mundane. The headboard in my room had what looked like mucus wiped from someone's finger on it. Cleanliness of the room could have definitely been better, especially while in a pandemic. The shower head leaked all night long. People in the hallway were loud. The hotel overall is outdated. I would never stay here again, unpleasant experience to say the least. read more

They haven't got enough staff to accommodate guests. Moses, the maintenance guy was the only one hustling.l He was so nice and helpful. We asked for a roll in shower. My husband is an amputee and cannot access a tub. So on the phone with IHG for hours and we got a room for the week with a door that didn't close properly. The people in the next room had someone walk right in because the key wasn't programmed correctly. The place is in disrepair. This is the first time we had a bad experience with an IHG hotel. We won't ever go back. Oh, and the guy from IHG didn't know what comp meant. We made these reservations months in advance and there was no where we could go. Miserable week. Hundreds of dollars and the manager doesn't have the decency to address his deficiencies. read more

A pleasant hotel with a dated exterior and nicely redone interior. The rooms were very chic and modern with nice amenities. Unfortunately, the exterior is quite unattractive and reminds customers of the late 70s. In addition, there is a railroad that runs nearby so expect the noise level to be terrible, even at night. I concur with what some other reviewers have said. Customer service is totally lacking here and they aren't interested in keeping clients. My stay was Saturday to Sunday. I asked for a king bed and instead got a room with double beds. My husband joked we'd be in separate beds because a double for him just isn't good sleeping. We were so tired from the day and settled in for the night. Then we noticed old blood stains on the sheets and pillow cases. Gross! Went to call the front desk and the room phone was broken. It was so late I figured we'd sleep in the other double bed and I'd use my own phone to call in the morning. I called the next morning from my cell phone and let them know their sheets were dirty with old blood. The woman who answered said okay and hung up. I'll think twice before booking this hotel again. This hotel was okay in terms of the basics, but I will never go back there or back to another Crowne Plaza or IHG property again because: 1. my lost iPad was not turned into lost and found and is gone, and 2. the reviews that I tried to submit to IHG were consistently rejected/censored. More details below: iPad: Unfortunately, I left my iPad in the room when I checked out. The iPad was in plain sight on the bed, fully charged, and powered on - I am 100% certain of this. I realized my mistake about 10 hours later and immediately called and emailed the hotel. The 'lost and found' person was gone for the day and I was told to call back. After several attempts to talk with someone to arrange for the retrieval of the iPad, I was told that it had not been found. I also immediately used Apple's device location service/application to attempt to locate the iPad, but the iPad had apparently been turned off. I put it in 'notification mode' so that it would display my contact info if connected to the internet again - but it has been about a week and has not come back online. The hotel was apologetic and I know that it was a mistake to leave the iPad there. Still though, it is illegal to keep something you 'find' and it sucks that someone did this. I will never know what really happened to the iPad but given the fact that the hotel staff entered the room to service it, I do suspect that it was taken at that time. I believe that this is called circumstantial evidence and certainly is the most plausible explanation in my opinion - but again there is no way to prove it or even to accuse an individual without actual evidence. IHG review: I attempted about six times to submit a review to IHG (parent or licensing company of Crowne Plaza?). My reviews were pretty basic and not very harsh. Each time the review was rejected with the excuse: 'contains legally sensitive content'. Here are two actual review that were rejected: 1. 'The Saddle Brook Crowne Plaza was fine overall but I stupidly left my iPad in plain sight on the bed when leaving. I realized my mistake about 10 hours later and called the hotel immediately. I got the run-around that evening and for most of the next day. Ultimately the iPad disappeared and was never turned in to lost and found. Gone forever, sad. And for that reason, I cannot recommend this hotel.' 2. 'I cannot go into details about what happened to me at this horrible place. Suffice it to say that it is not a safe and honest place to stay. I will never go back to this hotel. And I encourage any traveller to avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of other places nearby.' I contacted IHG about the rejections and they responded in part: 'Our surveys are handled through a third party company and as such we are not aware of their processes.' So in my mind, this organization is disorganized, dishonest, and immoral. In conclusion, between the missing iPad and the shady review process I created this review for others to see and I will never use IHG and/or Crowne Plaza properties again. read more

Redone in April, it is definitely nice and I would stay again. It is sort of a wannabe higher end hotel but lacks the personnel and service behind it. They likely spent a lot of money fixing the place up and it looks great ... But touch ups and details are needed. My shower ceiling has small pockets of peeled paint and the wallpaper has a small tear. (#706). No coffee in the lobby, marginal snack shop, yesterday's paper still out, etc. Great shower set up with overhead and handheld front. Good blow dryer. read more

Unfortunately, after multiple attempts and even after speaking with her various times, she still never got me the information needed, advised that she was having IT issues with her computer. She was extremely unprofessional the way she handled the situation after a month of trying to inquire on this information. There was a hotel shuttle to take us to dinner on one evening, but it wasn't available another nitwhen we tried to use it. The hotel bar is cool, but our service was a bit slow, and beer options were quite limited. No breakfast comes with the room, but the rooms themselves are nice and clean. im not rating on the hotel I'm rating on the issues i am having with the hotel. I booked a room online about a week before my stay. The next day i had to cancel because of the snow storm that we had and were advised to stay off the road. I canceled my room about a week before my stay. I still got charged for my room which was around 120 dollars. When i called to ask why it was not refunded, they claimed that i picked an "advanced purchase room". What is an advanced purchase room that makes no sense because we knew the storm was coming but wanted to book just in case there was a change. i will be reporting this to the BBB and dispute the charge on my credit card. read more

The hotel is very nice and clean. The room was comfortable. I find it odd the rooms don't have a refrigerator or microwave, they charge for the coffee in the lobby, and no one speaks English very well. I was staying for an extended period (several weeks) after two weeks they asked me to check out of my king room into a double because they were sold out, I refused. Even after extending my room they constantly nagged us to see if we were leaving. Unfortunately there aren't many options in the area. Also they charge a $50 incidental PER NIGHT! This was extremely frustrating when staying for weeks at a time! The manager conveniently was never around to discuss. If you have a choice in hotels I would choose anywhere else. read more

I recently utilized the Crowne Plaza in Saddle Brook, NJ for my wedding on August 4, 2018. I worked very closely with Kristen Wanser and Arshi Chadha as they assisted me with reserving a block of rooms, coordinating my rehearsal dinner, farewell breakfast and shuttle service to and from the wedding venue. They were PHENOMENAL to work with. They answered my many emails and phone calls with questions I may have had. I can't thank them enough! My rehearsal dinner and farewell breakfast were located at the Sky Restaurant (top floor of the hotel) and my guests were able to see NYC from our area which was quite lovely since this was the theme of my wedding. The food was VERY GOOD, and the chef personally came out and greeted me and I truly thought that was such a nice touch. I will say that the front desk and sales team need to communicate a bit more. I had scheduled a shuttle service (2 round-trips) for my guests attending my wedding and I was informed that the shuttle service did not arrive for some of my guests and the front desk was not aware of the shuttle service. I was rather upset considering I had added this to my contract about 8 months prior and sent an email following up to make sure all was great and good to go. Kristen was very responsive, and she did the right thing by not charging me for their mishap, but I do recommend future brides whom are requesting shuttle service from their respective venue make sure the front desk is aware, so that you have less to worry about. I truly value how this hotel took responsibility and rectified the situation so that their was no issue at the end of the wedding. The suite was a great place for me and my bridesmaids to get ready and the room was perfect. read more

The lobby and the rooms look newly renovated! Very cool & hip looking lobby! We enjoy the sky lounge for the continental breakfast! I recommend getting the breakfast vouchers. The fitness center is pretty decent!!! I really enjoyed working out in there, it was clean and a very nice size! I stayed here for my wedding. The worst hotel experience I've ever had. One their always changing management and no one communicates with another and they don't do anything to help you. They tried to charge me for a room for my bridesmaids to get ready in, I had to get the managers from my venue to get involved. The day before my wedding they were giving out my welcome bags to other guests, and giving my guests the wrong bags after I called them three times. I will never ever stay here again. We had to ask the waitress multiple times for service. she actually forgot to bring out my boyfriend entree. When had to take it home with us. And after that horrible service. My desert was missing. I asked for it 4x. I ordered chocolate covered strawberries,when it arrived it was just strawberries covered with hershey's chocolate syrup, the kind used for chocolate milk. overall a very pleasant stay. the staff were all very polite, & accommodating. the pool is out doors (its 7/6-8 2018) & the weather is beautiful out there. there were fresh towels aplenty. upon arrival i asked for an upper room (having read other reviews about the noise from the trains & road) but i was told that b/c i booked a suite (got rm 212) that i would be lower. i was given earplugs, upon request, which it turns out i didn't need... the only train i was aware of( though there were definitely more) was the train that went by 5 mins after i entered the room (it wasn't loud). didn't have a chance to order room service ( wasn't open when i needed, it hrs 5-10:30 for dinner) so i ordered über eats. the room was very pleasant w/ a comfortable bed, & lovely bathroom. iron & board in bedroom closet. ihome clock radio w/ bluetooth, tv of a good size in both bedroom & living room. there's a mini fridge & a microwave... overall it's well appointed. my shower made a very high pitched squealing sound when you put it on (but i'm thinking that's like a water pressure thing that happens sometimes). read more

I've booked two suites at Crowne Plaza and it was so so tiny being a New Yorker we are used to larger suites. The only thing that was good was the breakfast service and food was okay. Stayed here for 2 days for my wedding. Got a suite and it was nice size and relatively clean. Front desk attendants were very nice and polite. I liked the decor of the lobby as well. The Sky bar/restaurant has a small but acceptable menu. I had 3 meals there and waiter staff/bartenders were all pleasant. I came with lower expectations for food but it wasn't bad. This hotel is for a quick 1-2 night stay between traveling or an event not vacation. I have few gripes. The major one I had was with housekeeping. A few hours after checking out, a housekeeper called me accusing me and my wife of stealing a pillow. Certainly not something your average person would think about stealing. I believe said pillow was found, probably on the floor or under the bed, but still annoying to receive this call. read more

The lobby looked lovely and we thought "Ok, GOOD!" We were early but they had a room ready for us. The inside of the room was strange. Some parts looked very new and redone. The bathroom floors were new, for instance. And the bedding was lovely. But other aspects were just awful. I thought I had sprayed toothpaste on the bathroom mirror frame, but it was chipping paint. The toilet paper was in back on the wall with the toilet so you couldn't see it and had to reach back. And when you went to rip it, the entire roll would fall on the floor. The desk area in the main room was also marred and chipped. The rolling desk chair had a broken back so if you leaned back on it, the chair fell over on the floor. Also, know that at least half the circle of rooms faces a freight train yard. For the most part the trains didn't run after 11 pm, although one might have gone through at 3 am. They were loud and they blew the whistles a lot. It's very hard to get to, especially from Route 80 going east. Lots of turns and multiple exits to get to the actual lot. read more

First night was good -- nice bed, renovated rooms, and the top floor bar was neat, with decent martinis. Breakfast buffet was fine, although coffee tureen was not refilled, even after several patrons asked. But the second night -- while we (four of us, over three rooms in the hotel) were in the City for the evening, there was some sort of plumbing issue that caused the hotel to need to switch off the power and evacuate everyone. This is not forseeable, sure, but that happened around 7pm. We didn't find out until we got in at 12:30am -- and were told we needed to get our stuff (from the 11th floor, in the dark, without any hotel personnel offering to even provide a flashlight). Not sure why they couldn't call, text, or email the info on our reservations. Local hotels were booked, so they put us in a hotel in Secaucus -- a really, astoundingly, shockingly bad hotel. The staff at the hotel were surly and unhelpful about the rebooking, and I had to call them a week later to remind them that they owed me a refund for that night, like they promised. read more
