I wish the inner colored filling was a bit larger for impact, but overall they were still beautiful and tasted amazing. She used quality ingredients and I could tell right away. If you're a big eater and want the additional potatoes and pancakes, I recommend paying a few dollars more and ordering the Breakfast platter. The Vanilla Latte came in a paper cup (a bit bummed out by not being able to take a more IG worthy picture of that), but it actually tasted really good! Same with the sausage links - it was probably one of the best tasting ones I've had for breakfast in a while. Aside from their wide selection of pastries and food options, their customer service was phenomenal. Every customer that walked through the door was greeted upon arrival and thanked on their way out. The restaurant was very clean and the cakes looked so beautiful behind the glass case. I had a pleasant experience today at Merengue Bakery & Cafe and can't wait to come back soon to try a slice of their chocolate cake!

Our initial interactions with James was great--he is a genuinely kind person--but the final product was not what we expected. The biggest issue was the wedding cake itself. It looked nothing like the inspiration photo we had provided. We ended up making last-minute changes because we were so unhappy with how it looked. There also wasn't any check-in leading up to the wedding to review the final design. While we certainly could have reached out ourselves, I also think it's reasonable to expect some proactive communication from the vendor before creating such an important centerpiece. Beyond the appearance, the cake itself was very dry and lacked much flavor (many of our guests complained). On the positive side, guests said the ice cream was delicious and they liked the other mini desserts but I don't believe it was enough.. One additional note is that I don't believe two staff members were necessary for setup and breakdown, especially since that also required providing two vendor meals. Probably the least sweet of the three we tried. -Reese's was good but a little overpowering on the peanut butter side. -The coconut is way too sweet. Reminded me of an almond joy without the almond. Cake is a little dry. Frosting helps balance it out but most of them are too sweet. Like how they're small in size so you can sample multiple if you desire without feeling too heavy. Can't speak to service or ambiance since I didn't visit the store.
