A few year's ago had 3 companies come and evaluate a leaking air handler with expensive recommendations, Crump A/C tech (Gregg) came - solved the issue (Engineering and Colin sense) in less than 15' for a reasonable fee. We had 4 other quotes to repair our AC system Evaporator coil/box, plenum, drip tray, warning sensor, etc. Crump's estimate to repair was for everything the other 4 had included but for much lower price. Money isn't always the determining factor. However when one can get the same parts, same quality of those parts, the same service, the same warranty, etc. ..........for a much less price........that's hard to beat. Nice people to deal with. My insurance company (HWA) sent this company to my home to repair my A/C on the 25th of June. The name of the technician was Bryce. He came to my house and he checked the system. He told that there was a leakage on the system and the coil needs to be changed in order to fix the problem. And he supposed to report the HWA to place an order for a new coil. But he didn't do it. I called maybe 20 times this company and HWA to make the things faster but there was no progress. Then HWA set another company and sent the technician. He checked the system and found that there was no leakage on the system. The coil was ok. He just added refrigerating gas to the system and it works perfectly! I lost three days just because of the technician and this company! I have a small infant in the house and I emphasized the technician about that to make the things faster. But nobody cares. I reported this situation to HWA, too. I hope they are not gonna work with them anymore. read more

I contracted them through HWA they came out multiple times costs not covered by HWA. Of course the problem was never fixed. This drug out for months. I called someone else and the problem was spotted immediately after looking at the outside unit. Fixed. Crump AC agreed to comp a small portion of the cost after we spent over 1000.00 with them and issues not fixed. Of course the check never came in the mail. Be careful with this company and get a second opinion with another company. They will not stand behind their work. Beware! I'm contacting the BBB next step. read more

This Saturday would be 2 weeks my AC has been out. The first day the repairman came out(Bryce).I gave him more than the benefit of the doubt that he knew what he was doing. First visit, I told him multiple time (i know people who do AC work), that there was a leak somewhere from the Freon. He said i was right, & was just going to do a temporary fix, since home warrant requires that first?? (my warrant company said otherwise, you can fix a part first visit). My house was cool for ONE day. Two days later Bryce comes out AGAIN(i knew would happen, from the beginning i said i have a leak in Freon). This time, he went in attic, for maybe 3 mins. & came back down saying there was a leak in the coil. I told him(again i know people in AC business), did he check to see if anything bubbled from a leak. Was he sure that it was the coil? He said, he didn't need to check if there were bubbles, cause he can tell by so much oil around the coil that the leak had to be there. I INSTANTLY felt like-1. He didn't want to take the time to check. 2. Maybe he just doesn't know what he is actually doing. 3. Or maybe they are the type to keep coming back after spending so much money on other parts, just to get money off their people. Since it was a holiday weekend, i called my home warranty. To make sure if this CRUMP ever sent in the part.Since it was 100 degrees, i have 2 babies & mentioned more than once the urgency of the situation since my baby got SICK from being in the hot house. Now its Tuesday, after the holidays. I call CRUMP & told them that my warranty said they never sent in the coil that i needed last week. The lady on the phone, said "Thats strange let me call in & see what the issue is." Along with blaming my home warranty, saying the drop the ball a lot.(Another issue , they want to blame the home warranty for EVERYTHING- To make them not look bad). After i made her call my home warranty, guess what? My home warranty said she BARELY put in for the part that i needed ordered, when she shouldve did it the end of the week before. DAYS going by, my baby still sick-- 100 degree weather. CRUMP doesnt care thought right? Couple days pass, i keep calling both home warranty and AC company. I even tell Crump that i think i am going to have to find another company, because she told me even if the home warranty approved the part same day, i still wont be able to have someone come out and replace it until the next week. WTH? My Baby is sick!!! From sweating, and being cooled off by a fan!!!!! but again.. they dont care. When i said i would probably hire someone, she tried to convince me not to.. "well home warranty might not reimburse you, and if they do it might take up to 30 days. Your coil is under warranty from your unit, once we get the part i can assure you everything will be taken care of." I had no choice at this point to call, get an AWESOME company to come. and guess what?! IT WASNT EVEN THE COIL THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED! I WAS RIGHT!! BRYCE never checked the coil to begin with, like he told me. My coil looked BRAND NEW!!!!! I had a leak in the condenser outside, and the company fixed it same day!!!!! R&R hvac & refrigeration services knows what theyre doing.& because of my situation with my babies, i paid literally NOTHING. CRUMP AC is just a company that probably does residential work,& has no idea what to even look for. Get a company that does alot of commerical, cause if the company can do commercial complicated work. They can do measly residential work. Crump AC was going to replace a coil, that wasn't even bad! I will be posting this to so many websites and social media. They dont know what they're doing, or they just want to try & get money. I see that they respond to reviews, whatever- give me whatever excuses you want. The only reason they have these other good reviews, is because before they leave they send you a link & want you to give them a good review right then and there, even if the work isn't even done. I knew better-People do not write reviews until your AC is fixed. STAY AWAY from this company! read more

Last year I had Crump come out to quote a new HVAC System after being told by another company that I needed it replaced. Crump inspected it and told me they would not take my money needlessly - that I only needed to top-off my refrigerant. They did that and a year later it's still working. i called them out again to inspect it and it's still fine. Both times they were on-time, courteous, respectful and informative. Unbelievable service. My downstairs unit wasn't working so I had another company (Air Team) come out on a Thursday afternoon. They diagnosed the problem that I needed a new blower and the coils replaced. The blower would be $650 and the coils $1975. This on top of the $80 service charge. I then called Crump for a second opinion at about 4:45. They had someone out that evening to check the unit. They confirmed the blower needed to be replaced but that it was too early to tell about the coils until they fixed the blower. They came the next day, replaced the blower, confirmed there was no major leak so the coils didn't need to be replaced and added 2 lbs of coolant, all for $375. Greg was courteous and professional. I had Crump A/C out about 3 months ago to look at my downstairs unit which wasn't cooling. Their technician Greg came out and advised that my unit was over amping and the fan wasn't working. He explained that he could try replacing the fan for $450 but couldn't guarantee that would fix the problem. His recommendation was to replace the condenser and he left a quote for $3,400 - $3,600 depending on the SEER. As my unit was less than 8 years old I decided to get a 2nd opinion. I called a contractor friend who sent his A/C guy. He advised that all I had was a bad capacitor and replaced it on the same visit. He charged $80 for the repair which was about what Crump charged for their service call. When I told him what Crump had recommended he laughed and said he would be glad to sell me a new unit but I should wait until I actually need it. I thanked him for his honesty and told him he had my business from now on. I called Crump to advise them of my experience and disappointment with their service. I did not receive an apology or an offer to return my service call fee. Their manager told me that I would continue to have problems with my unit. It has been 3 months of Houston summer and the unit is cooling great. read more

Our house and yard were flooded due to the Brazos River incident, so I called to get a quote from Crump to check out our 2 units. The young lady on the phone was very polite and patient. I ended up choosing them for 2 reasons: The positive reviews on yelp and b/c their rate was much lower than the top company listed on here. I'm very glad I did b/c now I have 3 reasons to brag on Crump...Greg, the tech. He came on time and brought with him a warm smile and very friendly disposition. He could have easily said we needed a new unit b/c it was shutting off and on when we tried running it, but he quickly diagnosed what was wrong and it turned out to be a simple draining problem in the attic. We aren't sure if our insurance will pay for everything that was damaged as it is, so being able to scratch this big expense off our list was a big relief and a blessing we could definitely use right now.
