As a matter of fact there was a misunderstanding in the quote as I thought it included new ducts, but it did not. But James replaced for free due to the misunderstanding on my part. He did not have to do that because it was my mistake in communication. Prior to that I had 2 other hvac systems installed by another company. So I called that company that did the install to repair one. Within hours of repairing one hvac, the other failed. So I had to wait over the weekend for them to return to fix the hvac and on Monday my schedule. Then I decided to use Richmond Air for the repair. I only would be at my house from 8:30 to 10am due to a departing flight. I called Richmond Air at 7:30 AM on Monday to see if they could send someone to my house within the hour. The owner, James showed up with a staff member. So the other company's staff accidentally let out my Freon. James called the company and explained the mistake for me and arranged for them to replace my Freon for free. That is honestly and great customer service. He could have replaced the Freon and charged me, which is expensive and let me figure out the situation with the other company. So that deserves my business and yours. Trustworthy, competence and great pricing. I hope this review helps you select Richmond Air. Abacus had sent multiple technicians, changed the scope, tried to increase the price, and never completed the work I actually requested. Vish showed up promptly on a weekend request, explained exactly what he was going to do, gave clear upfront pricing, and then completed the work professionally without shortcuts. I needed my outdoor condenser coil cleaned, system readings checked, and R-410A added only if the diagnostics supported it. Vish cleaned the condenser coil thoroughly from the inside out, took before-and-after photos, checked the system readings, explained what the numbers meant, and charged the system properly. He also noticed that the refrigerant service valve caps were missing rubber O-ring seals, which could contribute to slow refrigerant loss, and replaced them. What impressed me most was that he did not try to scare me into a major repair or system replacement. He diagnosed the issue, explained the options, did the work efficiently, and charged a fair price. The air temperature improved significantly after the service, and the process was smooth from start to finish. I called at 6:00 to make sure the technician was still coming because I hadn't heard anything since making the appointment two days before. He did come about 7:00 and gave me a diagnosis. He was going to call me the next morning. He totally ghosted me, even after numerous attempted phone calls and texts. I ended up having to call another company. Their diagnosis was not the same as DX. They ordered the necessary replacement part and arrived the next day to replace it. DX ended up finally calling back..4 days later, after totally ghosting my calls and texts...to see why I didn't get service from them.
