I love Crunchy's! I always go there Tuesday for trivia! Sometimes the service is slow, but that's probably because I go there on busy trivia nights.... They have a really great menu and it always seems to be really clean in there which is important for a bar type of restaurant. This place probably doesn't need much more publicity but I got a 'atomic' crunchy burger and it was absolutely fantastic. Patty was cooked it medium rare like I asked so it was still juicy and tender. The atomic set of toppings includes a rich chili with pepper jack and jalapeños to give the burger a moderate kick. The cajun fries were excellently seasoned and fried to a nice crisp. I really had nothing to complain about and believe this to be one of the best burger joints around so long as you're not expecting anything gourmet with brioche buns and lemon truffle aoilis :P read more

Crunchy's is an amazing place that I would normally hate if they didn't offer BUCKETS of beer. I got a bucket of Guinness and I chugged that into heavenly oblivion. Another reason that I would normally hate this place would be because there is karaoke, and karaoke really scares me. However, because my friend Josh went up as a regular to sing "It Takes Two", I will love this place forever for it. One of my best Guinness memories is from the bucket I drank at this place. We got a booth and did rounds of shots, it was a beautiful drunken thing that I am only ashamed of admitting to. If you want to go to a place you'd normally make fun of but would probably have an awesome time with the right group of friends, then this is probably it. read more

Crunchy's is an East Lansing staple. I am an MSU grad and I can't say I frequented Crunchy's the most out of the available bars, but I always enjoyed myself when I visited. I recall one terrific St. Patrick's Day with their green eggs and ham breakfast washed down with green beer. I visited again recently and never realized the strength of the draft beer selection. I guess that was because in my younger days the group basically stuck with your typical drafts (bud light, miller lite, labatt blue light, etc). Crunchy's does own one East Lansing staple, which is the "bucket of beer." I can't recall how many ounces or pitchers you can get out of a bucket, but it's a lot. Basically, it's a big plastic bucket you would normally see used for cleaning a floor or something. You get a pitcher, a rag and a bunch of glasses and have beer for the entire group. It's a great novelty and something a lot of alumni recall from their college days. Back to the vast beer selection, I would say there was maybe two dozen total beers on tap. Many were local micro brews which is always a plus. I went with the Arcadia Whitsun which is delicious. Look out for the Friday night karaoke, that is some very enjoyable and cheap entertainment. read more

Oh Crunchy's- do you remember all the good times we've had? I was first introduced to this place Welcome Week freshman year, back before I could experience the buckets of beer. It's such a cool place with a lot of local character. Monday nights are my favorite, with $2 cheeseburgers (that are decent, better than the Riv and their Burgerama burgers for sure) and drink specials. My family and I went to Crunchy's for classic American food. You know, cheese burgers dripping with grease and fries doused in so much salt you can hardly taste the potatoes. They also have some nice salads, too, if that's your thing. Least to say the place did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and the craft beer list was pretty big for the size of the place. Be mindful of the time of day and week you go. It's a huge college spot and tends to get loud and crowded. The only drawback was how sticky everything was. The tables, the chairs, everything but the floor, which is weird. But hey, it's a bar. read more

Last friday I went to Crunchy's and forgot to review until now but it was AMAZING. The atmosphere was so fun because you can tell that the bar has such a connection with college students and people who who graduated from MSU. I went with my parents who had been when thwy were in school and it was like a blast from the past for them and new to me since I am a college freshman this year. I had a Beyond Burger and Tots because I am a vegetarian but it was seriously one of the best cooked veggie burgers I've ever had, and I have never craved tots so much in my life; they were fantastic! I'll always remember going here with my friends. 1. Great, dynamic beer selection 2. GREAT PARKING. I really feel that somebody should mention this. It's just so nice being able to park right by the bar and not have to screw around in a parking garage or pay to park or have to deal with a bunch of dipshits walking in front of you while you navigate down Albert. 3. Oh my god the tots. When the tots are fresh here, they're so good. I don't know, maybe they're not as fancy as the crack fries at Hopcat, but there's just something addictive about them. 4. We ordered Crunchy's takeout burgers last week and they were fantastic. The burgers were well portioned and juicy, and all the condiments ordered came as directed.The food is ready when you pull up for takeout and everything worked great. The G.O.A.T. establishment in East Lansing. I have been coming here for years, since before I went to school there and still now after moving away. Those pizza nugs though, omg. I could eat those for days. Their pizza, burgers, tots, nachos, all of it...amazing!! The real kicker here is the bucket of beer. Honestly, a mop bucket filled with beer, served with a pitcher to dunk it in and plastic cups to pour the pitcher into. It's creative, a little unsanitary, but always fun. This place is a nice relaxing place you can calm with your friends if you want to enjoy a nice beer and pint, or come out and get loaded at a calming atmosphere compared to the other college bars down the street. While the curb appeal of the building isn't exactly a 10/10, definitely stop in. read more

We decided to do dinner with friends after getting coupon on groupon! Very Fun atmosphere and lots and lots on tap, made the man happy! The food was yummy but kind of cool once it came to the table. Crunchies is certainly must go-to restaurant if you are from out of town. A lot of MSU alumni visit here regularly, and it has a big fan base of loyal customers. It's a great place to have a casual beer and bite with your buddies. The food is basic but good, and it has a fun atmosphere too (which, as a college student, I love). However, sometimes I would rather go to a restaurant where the wait isn't so long and the food is of a higher caliber (like when I take someone out on a date). Crunchy's is very near my house, and we eat there often. It's a popular with MSU students, with people who work in the area and with local families. I have never been there without running into someone I know. I wish I loved it as much as everyone else does. It's a fun place to eat, they have a really nice beer list (especially Michigan beer) and good specials. I like it that they have tater tots, which I deeply love in an embarrassed kind of way. The service is always friendly and reasonably fast, although it gets crowded and slower on weekend nights and when there's an MSU football or basketball game. The food is always fine, but in no way outstanding. The pizza is probably the thing they do best, but I just don't get the adulation about their burgers. They are cheap, they taste good, they have some interesting topping options (I like the Atomic) but...nothing amazing. It's not a place I'd ever pick for the food, but to meet friends and/or watch a game on the big screens with some really good beer...it's perfect. read more

Would never eat here again!! Got bread sticks which were not good..ate them with the help of ranch. Son got nachos...way over done, dry and gross...he didn't eat them.
