Everyone needs a good tailor, and this is definitely a find! I wear a size 00 and it's IMPOSSIBLE to find suits that fit me. So, I end up spending tons of money buying suits that don't fit and getting them all altered. I bought the coupon here on Yelp and took in about 10 items I needed altered, thinking the coupon would cover about half of them. NOPE! I got pretty much everything altered - such a deal! Customer service: I came in with a theory suit in hand to get custom fitted. Mr. Cruz was with a customer in the main lobby. I stood there for a few minutes but he did not even greet me or say he'll be right with me. Later when I left he did not say anything. Place: very small. There is only one dressing room and one mirror so only one person can be helped at a time. It also seems like they sell suits more than they alter suits. I would not say this place is "GQ" at all. The suit I brought in I wanted to have the waist and crotch taken in for a more slim fit. Mr.cruz told me the pants were too big to take in. I agree that they were too big but another tailor I went to was able to do the job with the same size and brand pants. It seemed like he was not confident in the degree of work it would take. It also seemed he cared more about selling his suits than altering an 800 dollar suit. I'm sure this place is great for basic alterations or buying your first suit but if you wear fitted and styled suits I would not recommend this place. read more

I've had about 10 dress shirts and oxfords tailored, and 4 raw denim jeans (one being 22oz!) hemmed here. The fit and length on the finished product they produced was VERY good. You can't even tell it was altered, that's how flawless this tailor is! The owner was very friendly and accommodating to my schedule and gave me a call to let me know all my shirts were available to pick up 3 days earlier than scheduled. Awesome place! Initially was looking for a good tailor on Yelp, because I didn't know any, so I came across Cruz Custom Tailors. So I came in on a Monday to get some work done such as alterations done for a suit, getting two pairs of pants hemmed, and a dress shirt altered. So when I first came in he took my measurements and asked my preference on the alterations and I asked him to do whatever he thought was best. Once everything was settled and I had paid, they told me that my items would be ready to pick up on the following Saturday. Once, Friday came around I was curious to see if I could pick my stuff up since I was in the area, so I called in the morning and he said he would call me back to let me know. Ten minutes later, he called letting me know I could pick them up later that day. So I came back when he told me and everything was pressed and done! I tried everything on when I had gotten home, since I was in a bit of a rush, and when I did everything fit perfectly! The job was extremely well done! I couldn't have been happier and I loved the way everything fit and how quick it was all taken care of! He was extrememly friendly and efficient! Honestly, thank God I went here first instead of going to Nordstroms, where it would've cost me more money and time to get a tailored pair of pants. I urgently needed a pair of dress pants for my job orientation and I found this place through Google. The owner is a really nice guy and got the job done really quickly. When I used to buy pants at Nordstrom, it would take them a day just to get measurements and adjust the pants length but the owner got it all done in less than 20 minutes. The price was also really decent. I expected to pay $80-$120 for the pair of pants and the last minute preparations but I was charged $64 for the pants and full service. These pants are really nice quality and I would not have expected the price to be that low to be very honest. I've never been to a tailor before, but this guy made my first time a great experience. If I need to buy a suit, I'm visiting this guy again! read more

I apologize, this will be a long one. Here we go! My husband first found Cruz online because he was looking for a customer shirt and some tailoring on his already bought wedding suit. It was beautiful. This review is about our wedding party's rented suits and alterations: We took my sister and cousin in to get their brides maids dresses hemmed. My mom specifically told him that she could do it herself but her sewing machine couldn't do the original stitch. He assured her it was no problem. $65 dollars for a hem, and it was a basic stitch, not the same as the original. $95 for my cousins dress that was hemmed and had the halter shortened half an inch. Insane. Then came the suits. Months ago I had told him that we needed classic, slim fit suits. Three of the groomsmen live in Italy so we got all their measurements. When we were giving him the measurements he kept changing them saying "no there's no way it's this, I'll make it this." Seeing as how he is the professional, I trusted him but i was nervous. I saw/ spoke to him multiple times during the course of this and multiple times he would say "tuxedo" and had to scribble out notes and correct it to say "suit." We had the boys try their suits on three days before the wedding since that's when they were ready and not only did none of them fit (not even the one that he measured himself) but he forgot to order one of them!! Only one guy walked out with a suit and I so wish i had taken a picture but I was so upset that i didn't think to. It was HUGE!!! Even if it fit him the way it was made to, In no way was it slim fit. The pants were so baggy with huge double box pleats and the jacket was huge. It was at least 30 years outdated. We went back the next day, demanded our money back (which he tried to refuse and then settled for everything but $25 per suit) and got some very nice looking suits from H&M since we were desperate for the same price and they got to keep them. Mr. Cruz did an outstanding job on my gown. It was a two layer, light grey dress with a sheer fabric as the top layer. I'm short so it needed about 6-7 inches hemmed. But I need the dress to wear tomorrow so I have no choice.
