I cannot even begin to say how much I enjoyed my experience with the everyone at the Radisson. I had my wedding in the Courtyard and my reception at the Emerald Ballroom, the smaller reception hall. First of all, I live in California and planned my wedding long distance. The staff here could not have made it easier! Every e-mail or phone call was answered. Every question or concern attended to promptly. They made the whole planning experience stress-free! The day of the wedding was WONDERFUL! The venue, staff, and overall atmosphere was perfect from start to finish. The staff makes you feel like a priority. They are respectful of your wishes and do their absolute best to make sure your day goes smoothly. I cannot be any happier with this venue! I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone and everyone looking for a place to host their wedding or any other special event. Thank you! read more

if I could I would give this venue a -0! I would! we had my sister wedding here and it was the worst service ever, wedding started at 6 and they were still setting up while ppl were walking in. they lost our chocolates that we brang to the venue. They stopped our dj to serve pasta and pasta didn't come out for 25 minute, they dropped 6-7 plates on the dance floor while serving food for them to say we have no food left for those ppl! maître de was the most disrespectful women to my mom yelled at her bc my mom asked why the cocktail hour was just fruits. I asked the bar for some milk for my children and the bartender was so rude and told me they dont serve milk, so I said when coffee is served you don't give out milk it's just black and he got stuck didn't know what to do. instead of celebrating my sister we had to keep running after waiter bc nothing was done right! don't ask a waiter anything bc they don't know anything, they will tell you literally to your face IDK! disgusting and pathetic idk how you guys are still open with this rude and unprofessional work space. I will never ever tell anyone about this venue! read more

The food was the typical banquet food, it was presented very nice. The place was very well decorate. I have experience in this field and I have never posted a bad review in 20+ years, until today. This place was micromanaged to the point that it impacted the flow of the whole celebration. if you are looking to have a good time, be prepared to have security constantly complaining to the bridal party about not allowing to do something as little as walking around with a drink in their hands, standing near the bar waiting for their drinks or children in general... they aren't fans of kids at all and WILL have sec following then around watching their every move. read more

Had my wedding there this past September. Overall it was a lovely affair. Staff were friendly and courteous, and the food was delicious. So why only 2 stars? They lose 1 star for "details". Some this were not done that I had specifically requested when talking to the Maitre' D. (Designate someone your day of to followup on those things.) Mostly, they lose 2 s for all the aggravation they caused after the wedding... The day that we dropped off the final payment we had 2 cancellations. We were paying early, and were told that they could refund those meals. A few days later I had another cancellation. Since it was still before the payment deadline I thought it would be OK, but was now being told that they do not offer refunds after final payment is made. Well, after some calls back and forth, the hotel did finally agree to honor the initial promise of a refund for the first 2, but not until after the wedding. I emailed to check on the status of the refund after the honeymoon. We had paid for 73 adults. Minus 3 cancellations and 3 no shows. SA's reply was:"Thank you for reaching out. J There was additional guests that did show on the wedding day which balanced out to the 2 guests that we were going to refund. There is not a refund as you did have additional guests show the day of. We served a total of 70 adult meals." I wrote back, and tried to point out her mathematical mistake."HI Megan,We did add a total of 2 guests the day of the wedding to your floor plan as well as served a total of 70 vendor meals & 1 child meal. Hope this helps clarify. Thank you! " Are you kidding me?! By her own admission we would have still been owed at least 1 refund. She was either purposefully obtuse or just that stupid. After this email I took my complain to the hotel manger, who was far more helpful. He actually took the time to go down to the kitchen and speak with the chef. Seems there was a miscount, and I was correct. It took another two and a half weeks, but I finally received my refund. read more

Before the days of Facebook, or yelp. August 2010 I had my reception here. 45 min in the hotel power goes out. For the rest of my reception They have no generators. It's been a while now but id ask and make sure they have generators. There wasnt a cloud or rain drop to be found either. Once you sign the contracts your screwed. I got 10% of entire bill returned to me but it didn't make up for the fact I missed my dinner and most of SEEING anything through the crying. I booked the ballroom BECAUSE of the crystal chandeliers. It got pretty hot there in August with no air, most of my guests headed home after an hour of no light and everyone else hung outside. Pretty crappy. Everything would have been perfect if not for that. I guess shit happens but what pisses me off is that they had me knowingly sign a contract, with no generators in the building So to me? That's crooked shit and I will never forget or forgive for that. They don't care, they had all my money. Bet if it happened on one of their wedding days it would have mattered more. Ask if they have generators! I'd have never thought in a million years that would have happened. I tell everyone and my guests all seen what happened and lost any of their future buis too because of it read more

I did not stay over night, but I did attend a wedding here. It was awful service. There wasn't a waiter to be seen the whole night for things like refilling water and serving coffee. Apparently there were passed hors d'overs during dinner- my table never saw them. My parents were at the other end of the ballroom and got them, my table never did. The bride apparently paid extra for table service for her grandma- it never came or happened. The ladies room was not serviced once all night- it was a disaster and gross by the end of the night. I would def recommend not having your event here. read more

My wedding was on March 19 at the Emerald Ballroom. The service leading up to the day was really perfect. The Catering office has a policy of responding within 24 hours and they always do. They are very friendly and helpful. They do not say no to anything you ask or at least do their best to accommodate your wishes. The day of my wedding did not go as well as I wanted. There was another another wedding at the Crystal Ballroom, which has a separate entrance. The Emerald Ballroom (the smaller room) has guests coming in through the hotel lobby. I booked the venue because I thought at the very least I won't run into the other wedding party. I was VERY WRONG. The other bride was very inconsiderate and my Maitre D did nothing about it. The other wedding started before mine. I was doing some rehearsals with my wedding party in the Emerald Ballroom and the guests of the Crystal Ballroom kept walking into the Emerald Ballroom. As I was waiting enter my ceremony, the entire bridal party from the Crystal ballroom decides to hang out at the lobby including the bride! They were waiting to enter their reception post cocktail. So as my guests check in at the lobby for directions, they see an entire bridal party that has nothing to do with the wedding they are attending. It didn't help that some of my husband's friends never met me prior to the wedding and since the other bride and I are Asian, they thought that she was me! I was waiting in the restaurant for the ceremony to start. I laughed when guests told me about their wrong assumption but I was really upset on the inside. Finally, my bridesmaid told the Maitre D to move their other bridal party from the lobby as they were disruptive. The Crystal Ballroom is a much larger venue. I don't understand why the other party couldn't stay on the other side and why my Maitre D thought that it was ok for another wedding party to be chilling outside my ceremony as my guests are arriving. VERY DISAPPOINTED! read more

Where do I possibly begin, wait I know, DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE! Going back a year, I had the unfortunate opportunity to attend a function and eat a meal in the Crystal ballroom. After a night on the toilet from the food that looked as if it was recycled, I asked others who attended the same party if they were feeling the same. Some did experience the same quick exit of the food and beverage, some via the mouth and some via the other way. Fast-forward a few months, a close personal friend had a Sweet 16 there and though was not 100% happy, was at least content that no one got sick or hurt. My Wife convinced me to give the place another shot. Reluctantly, I agreed. At first we spoke to Melissa in August 2015 and she informed us that the room cannot be booked sooner than January 2016 because the function is a Sweet 16 and if we did want to book, we will need to "guarantee $30,000 in revenue" (first sign that this is a bad idea). You read it correctly, If you need to book earlier, you would need to spend more. So in our case we would have 150 people and that will come out to be $200 per person for a sweet 16. Moving on, Melissa told us that since we did like the room, she will keep our information available and come January 2016 we can come in and book the room for November 2016 at the "normal" rate. I asked Melissa what if someone else was interested in the room? She informed us that November is not a big wedding month so she felt the room should be available, but if someone was interested in the room, she will call us and let us know. After several email communications regarding decor, and seat covers and other options, we finally come to January 2016. Time to book the event, NOT! My wife sends Melissa an email asking when we can come in and sign the paperwork. After a short while she receives an email from "Sydney" stating that the date is not available! I call up Sydney and speaking to her was another event. Talk about being shot out of a cannon. VERY dis-respectful and completely unaware of how to treat clients. I told her of the situation and he only response was "Oh, Well". She spoke to me as if having a Sweet 16 is a down grade for the property. Personally, I think it is a blessing in disguise that I am not having my daughter's Sweet 16 party there. Especially based upon how Sydney interacts with customers, that will only be a preview of what's to come. Word of advice to the Radisson management, get new employees with better people skills to handle parties and turn around your reputation. With that said, I am off to other sites to let people know of my experience. read more

The many wonderful reviews about the Crystal Ballroom happen to be part of reason I fell in love with the place. We met with Tara she assured me that everything was going to work out greatly and we booked our venue. One of the main reasons I looked into this venue, and did tell when booking was we loved the Crystal Ballroom's attentiveness to those with severe food allergies. . I was very excited and asked numerous questions to the girls and they were great at answering. We booked the venue without my parents, who live away in another state. The week before the wedding they took a very nice tour to check it out with Andrea and were told certain details like the bathroom would be not shared, just for our wedding, the front would be blocked off with flowers and were told all would be situated with all food allergies and guests. They seemed happy when they took the tour! However, when it came to the actual wedding day, a lot of things happened that were the complete opposite of the things that we were told. There was a wedding booked directly before mine , as well as a Sweet 16 that did wind up sharing our bathroom during the time of the wedding that I think threw something off . One thing I was told that one of the girls would be there when I was to enter cocktail hour from taking photos, no one was there , our guests had no clue where to go, our maitre d was no where to be found and we didn't know where to go either. Then I see a guest eating shrimp, I held back tears, I am deathly allergic( can't be in the same area allergic) and booked this place because they said they are great with this. Well I almost was in the hospital because of a mistake. They did apologize but it was enough for me to cry at my wedding. I find out other small things like extra IDing guests because the Sweet 16 next door, or drinks being watered down. I'm still very upset with how things ran. I wish we had a better experience. No money was returned and a whole lot was spent. read more

A sense of soft elegance came over the room. Pat was there for every step, every detail right down to the food. Every guest commented on how wonderful the food was. We were going to get one more drink because we were enjoying being outside even though the service wasn't that great, but the server ended up l bringing us the check, which we hadn't asked for yet so we took it as a sign to just go. But I chose to look beside it because I really believed this venue was the perfect place to make my rustic themed visionary wedding to life. I can basically say I reached out or called sally maximum 4 times for help with questions because I did not feel comfortable approaching her with her dry attitude. All this woman talks and brags about is her husbands job as a CEO of a drug treatment program , big shit. Now lets start with my experience on my wedding week PLEASE READ THIS PRIOR TO BOOKING WITH SALLY, SO YOU CAN BE AWARE AND NOT HAVE THIS HAPPEN TO YOU My fiance paid the venue in full three weeks before the event , Sally told us many months ago that if in the occasion that the night before our event , the venue was not booked we may go drop off our equipment and decorate the day before. Three weeks ago Sally verbally told my fiance, wedding planner, and I that we may decorate on Friday since it was not booked nor she believed it would be with such short notice. We are super excited and relieved that we were able to decorate the day before. On wednesday August 5th I called Sally for last minute questions and reconfirmed our arrival on Friday to drop off & decorate , Sally responds" Oh i am sorry an architecture business meeting/reunion will be held Friday you can no longer come to decorate" " I am sorry for last minute" .... ok so when was she planning to call me to tell me this ? Secondly, Sally continued to tell me that I can still drop off the decorations and store them in a room , on Friday August 7th between 9:00- 1:00pm Friday August 7th : My family and I load up 3 cars , and drive 1 hour and 10 minutes to arrive to the lake house and NO ONE IS HOME. I call Sally and her voicemail states she is off and away August 7th, 21st - 30th . Thank you Sally for causing me a stress overload the day before my wedding. Very irresponsible of this housing manager to do this. I could not believe my eyes, I emailed her and recieved no response to this day!!!! Luckily a woman drove in that very moment, by the name of Mary Anne, which rents office space in the second floor , she opened the door for us and allowed us to store our things in a room upstairs. Mary anne and Dan were very helpful , and provided em with the care takers phone number Mr. Haas who I contacted later that afternoon to request for premises to be cleaned prior to my event. The caretaker was very helpful the day of our event and made sure everything was found clean and left cleaned at the end of the night. The last thing a bride or couple should go through is a stressful moment due to the venue in where we have paid so much money to have our wedding take place. I believed in this lakehouse and Sally's work ethics. I never would have imagined to have such a terrible experience. In addition to this she was not present the saturday of my event either. Neither did she request a copy of our bartenders liqour licence certification after driving us nearly crazy for this months before. What kind of unorganized , careless woman do you have running your business? Please look into this matter and please reach out to me, because I know this venue is owned by the city/county and not privately owned by Sally. There has to be management over her and I very much wish to be contacted I would not take my time to express such a long detailed review if I did not feel so disgusted by my terrible experience with this manager .

Let's start with the positives: It's beautiful, accessible, and reasonably priced for the location. The caretaker was accommodating a sweet. The scenery and unique setup of the house lends itself well to true photographic artists. Now for the negatives: There really was only one negative aspect of our experience, and that was Sally. She was fine to start with, but two weeks before our wedding told us that we could not have our caterer use his smoker on the property due to it being a fire hazard in a nature reserve. This would have been understandable had she, and the fire marshal, not already approved the use of an open fire pit on the property. Naturally this confused us and we tried to sort out the issue with the marshal ourselves. Long story short, she was being untruthful, was not up to date on the codes, and really just didn't want to damage the grass so she passed the buck to someone else. She was also very intrusive while we were setting up, and rude to everyone until she realized we had hired event planners with us. We would recommend this establishment to everyone, everywhere, save the detail of this woman being responsible for facilitating the event. Be cautious when booking with them, and get everything in writing well in advance.

Emerald Ballroom 1.22.22 What an amazing team! They gave us our DREAM wedding. Elizabeth (catering director) settled our fears when we came to her with concerns of past negative reviews, she asked us to trust her & the team that they promised everything would be perfect, and it was! Sam the general manager, we feel like her & Marvin (maître d) waited on us hand & foot. We never waited for a drink or food. The food was delicious. The bartenders Chris, Darryl, & Anthony TOP NOTCH so kind and attentive. (After party & night before wedding) What I can tell you honestly the communication was on point. Up until the wedding our point of contact went through like 5 different people before landing on Elizabeth with the change in staff. I laid it all out to Elizabeth and she listened and helped make everything perfect. I came to her that I was worried my overnight guests would be turned away or not enough room, she had Tyler work with me to calm my fears and everything was smooth NO ISSUES! I told Sam & Marvin some issues I thought may arise the day of and they made sure any changes day of came to us as a couple first. We checked in the night before and had zero problems, our guests checked in with no problems. Breakfast the morning after was amazing! French toast sticks are bomb. My ceremony & reception was gorgeous we used Radisson's centerpieces, most décor, backdrop, linens, and pedestals. We supplied signs for tables and card box, but they have if you need I believe. My advice for couples is bring extension cords, lol we felt there was not enough outlets personally, and no usb ports in rooms. STAY OFF SOCIAL MEDIA! If you have a problem or concern, go to Radisson right away lay it out there. I was horrified at first, but my day turned out perfect! Be open & honest with them and they will be honest with you. Employees: Super sweet, caring, attentive, helpful, courteous & receptive. Food: All of the food for our wedding was delicious no complaints Hotel: Zero issues with check in check out, rooms were clean, no issues. Communication: no issues, I felt we were responded to in a timely manner Words cannot describe the venue enough Joe & I are so happy! The feeling we got when we first booked is what we ended our wedding with. Our experience at the Radisson was truly incredible. As a mother of the groom who was very involved in the planning of my son and daughter-in-law's April 25, 2014 wedding in the Crystal Ballroom, I was very impressed by the level of service that was provided to us from beginning to end. Tara, Andrea and their office staff are so professional and extremely responsive. Every email or phone call was promptly returned. There was no problem or question that could not be easily answered or resolved. This was very important as there were so many details that required attention and their immediate response made it all seem effortless. They were always happy to hear from us and always greeted us with smiles and hugs. Ed Hinte, the General Manager of the hotel and his team were also extremely helpful. We blocked rooms for our guests, all who loved the décor, how clean and well maintained the property was, and that the front desk staff was friendly and courteous. We chose the Platinum package and our guests were blown away by the variety of selections, the gorgeous presentation and how delicious everything was. They are all still raving about cocktail hour and how awesome the stations were. We ended the night with a boardwalk theme that included zeppoles, waffles and an ice cream sundae bar. It was truly fabulous! On the day of our affair every detail was flawlessly executed to our specifications. Yaron, who was our Maitre 'D, did a fantastic job at making sure all of our guests were well taken care of. All of the food was quickly replenished at cocktail hour and service during dinner was perfect. The wait-staff was also wonderful! Everyone remarked that they were extremely attentive and made them feel welcomed, which was the ultimate compliment for us. Thank you all for making our special evening memorable and a huge success. Within a week of our engagement, we booked our reception with the Crystal Ballroom's sister ballroom, the Versailles Ballroom. Our heart was set on the Crystal Ballroom but because our budget fit better with the Versailles Ballroom, we went with our second choice. About 6 months later, we no longer imagined our dream wedding at the Versailles Ballroom so we took a chance and called the Crystal Ballroom to see if our wedding date was still available. It was risky since our date was in less than 5 months when most venues would be booked in no less than a year's time, but we had nothing to lose. Lo and behold, February 15, 2014 was the only Saturday date available! We knew that this was a sign and that we had to switch our wedding to our dream ballroom. It was no easy task switching our vendors to a new location, re-arranging our schedule, telling our family and friends, but it was worth it. It's a scary thought to any Bride and Groom when their venue changes, but the process could not have been any smoother, thanks to the staff at the Crystal Ballroom. I was a born planner but I could not have planned a wedding in Winter Storm Pax without their help. The staff made planning a breeze and to this day, our family and friends cannot stop raving about the food and decor. Though the days leading up to the big day was stressful with Mother Nature against us, our winter wedding was everything we could have imagined and we could not have done it without the Crystal Ballroom. In Monmouth County, the Crystal Ballroom is the most beautiful ballroom there is. Whether you're at their sister ballroom or shopping around for your dream venue, you must visit the Crystal Ballroom and book your wedding here! Andrea and Tara - thank you for all you have done. We had our wedding at the Crystal Ballroom on April 25, 2014. The very first moment we saw the Crystal Ballroom, we knew it was where we had to have our dream wedding. The venue was absolutely stunning and the cherry on top was the fact that we wanted a hotel venue for our day! From the beginning of this process to the end, Andrea and Tara were amazing with helping to make sure my husband and I got everything we wanted for our day! I loved how they would send us emails about special events, such as the menu tasting, which was a GREAT opportunity to personally pick your menu and look at other upgrade options that they have for you to chose! The transition to get everything into the hotel (welcome bags, ceremony props, seating charts, bathroom baskets, etc) was SO simple. We dropped it off with a list of where we wanted things to be and it was smooth sailing! I didn't have to worry about a thing! The day of the wedding came and the entire staff was so accommodating they really made my experience magical. Andrea and Tara were there every step of the way making sure that the ballroom looked perfect for me, and they were very attentive in making sure that my husband and I ate during the cocktail hour, even so much so that Tara and Andrea saved the day with safety pins when the train of my dress ripped! Our guests all raved about the food and how awesome everything was! The ballroom was absolutely stunning and I was so happy that I decided to stick with the centerpieces that came with my package because they were beautiful! Andrea, Tara, and the entire catering and hotel staff went ABOVE and BEYOND to ensure that my husband and I had the most memorable night of our lives -- and we most certainly did! I was married at the Crystal Ballroom in April 2014 and it was the best day of my life! From the very beginning of the planning process, all the girls in the sales office were extremely helpful, courteous, and friendly. They respond to all emails or calls with 24 hours...I even got feedback from them on nights and weekends to put me at ease. A fun perk is a group tasting night they hold where you get to see and taste so many extra options. I had my entire day at the ballroom...getting ready, ceremony, and reception. Everything went so smooth and everything we wanted to happen was done exactly how we asked, which was amazing for a detail oriented worrier like me. Our guests RAVED about the amount and quality of food at cocktail hour, and the signature drinks were another huge hit (we had the honeymoon martini!) The outside wine garden was a beautiful addition with firepits to keep guests cozy in the evening air. The ballroom was beautiful, even without extra up lighting, and the room was spacious enough for crowds on the dance floor and a photo booth. The wait staff and maitre d are so attentive to the bride and groom...I can't even describe how magical, special, and worry free the night was! I recommend the Crystal Ballroom with utmost confidence, and all this for SUCH reasonable prices. read more

Our 9/22/12 wedding was beyond our dreams....it is in large part due to the fabulous staff at Crystal Ballroom. From the moment I first met Tara and Valerie I knew this was my venue. They are responsive, professional, understanding, and a joy to work with. Through the entire wedding planning process they were there to answer every question that I had and never made me feel like I was a bother. They accommodated everything I wanted to make my wedding day special and unique. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful- modern and elegant. The pictures online do not due the space justice. It is beautiful. The food was fantastic- our guests enjoyed the cocktail hour and dinner. The hotel rooms are spacious, modern and most importantly comfortable. The brunch we had the following morning was plentiful and a touch the guests really enjoyed. The entire staff- from bartenders to wait staff to hotel reception was professional and hard working. Ron- the Maitre d- was fantastic. He anticipated our needs and took care of anything we asked. Our wedding was May 30, 2013 and it was better than I imagined. The team at Radisson Freehold went above and beyond to accommodate all of my needs. They were very patient with my ever changing request, emailing me within hours and even minutes answering any and every question I had no matter how big or small. The staff worked so well with my outside vendors and made my family and friends feel very welcome. Almost a year later everyone is still saying they had the best time ever. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was just soo great. My ceremony was held outside in front of the fountain, the cocktail hour was in a smaller room and the reception was in the Crystal Ballroom. The staff moved everyone from location to location seamlessly. We had visited quite a few other venues, but we knew from the minute we walked in to the Crystal Ballroom that it was the place for our wedding! The space is beautiful and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The price was also right for us too! I was leery of booking a place without having tried the food and they were willing to hold a tasting for us just a few days after our visit -- we even met the chef! The food, of course, was great and we couldn't have asked for more. All of our needs were met and questions were answered within 24 hours. The day of ran so smoothly and all of the staff were more than willing to do whatever we needed. Two months later our guests are still raving about the food and how it was the best wedding they've ever been to! I had my wedding here in 2018 and I have nothing but exceptional things to say. Throughout the whole planning process the catering team was always attentive, prompt with answer all of our questions, and basically always there with whatever we need. It honestly made us feel so safe and assured with our venue. When the big day came, the catering girls called to the bridal suite to make sure I was okay or needed anything. During the cocktail hour they made sure to get us food. (Thank God or I wouldn't have eaten!) The maitre d was literally by our side the entire time, and helped out with all of the needs we had the night of. All of our guests raved about her. We had our wedding in the smaller ballroom (Emerald) in December 2018 and I can't even begin to describe how amazing everything went. the room looked BEAUTIFUL and our guests to this day say that this was the best weddng they have ever been to. We had our wedding at the Crystal Ballroom this past weekend and it was absolutely amazing! The ballroom was decorated perfectly, and everything came together just the way we wanted! The food was delicious, from cocktail hour until the desserts were served. The staff was very attentive to every guest and anything that we needed. It was the greatest night of our lives! All of the planning was guided by the catering staff (Tara and Andrea) and Yaron assisted us with all of our needs that night.
