I found my new go to spot for nails and I'm so lucky to have gotten Nick as my nail tech because he was incredible.

She also didn't tell me that one of my nails was almost coming off on my left foot. Lastly she didn't shape my left pinky toe well. It was a straight across and the left corner was pointy vs slightly curved. I was quoted $30 for the Pedi over the phone but I guess they added $5 to remove the no chip? However, I noticed the one doing my nails was in a rush and wasnt as through as I wanted the experience to be. She kept looking up and at the clock. As for the nails, it was nice at first. After finishing my pedicure, Kim told me she couldn't do my manicure because I hadn't said I wanted my gel polish removed. That made no sense--if someone books a manicure while already wearing gel polish, it's reasonable to assume the gel needs to be removed unless otherwise discussed. The communication was very unclear, and it was difficult to understand what was being explained. I believe staff members who are responsible for booking appointments should be able to communicate clearly to avoid misunderstandings like this. Because of the confusion, I never received my manicure, yet I still paid for the pedicure. I left disappointed and wish I hadn't spent any money there. My first time there I was going to a black tie wedding and I wanted a mani pedi to meet the fanciness of the event. Ly, the daughter in the family looked at my dress in a photo and immediately said, "what I love with navy is..." and picked an ordinary-looking but outstanding color that I wouldn't have known was that beautiful. Her mother, Anna, was my nail artist and gave me the most perfect oval shape because try as I might, square nails don't look good on me. Anna's leg massage with a gentle scrub was relaxing enough almost to put me to sleep. Anna's son, David, came over and asked if I'd like a soft drink and when I said no, he offered to make me a cup of green tea that I happily accepted. In addition to the high level of skill at Sophia, (Ly's nail art is already legendary at a local school) the vibe is friendly and warm. I have been only to Sophia's since my first time in the summer of 2025. Why would I go anywhere else? Update: Anna has done a beautiful job on my pedicures from when I first went to Sophia's a year ago. I called last minute yesterday and David (Ly's brother, Anna's son) was available. I always get a little nervous with my toes with new people as thick skin behind a few of them has grown up the backs of the nails leaving me exposed to having my skin accidentally cut when my toes are groomed. David approached them with the precision of a surgeon, for a pain-free, worry-free pedicure, leaving me in better shape than when I arrived. I have been to many other salons who although provide a good service don't enforce that policy at all. Clearly some can not be left to their own accord to make a good decision.
