I got a hold of C T Auto and told them I would bring my car in. I had to get my empty car towed in because my engine lay inside 3 different cargo trunks in pieces. Yeah my engine was in PIECES! It looked nearly impossible to put together. Charlie confidently took my car in and told me it would be alright. He not only tried different routes to save me as much money as possible, but he also called me periodically to keep me updated on the progress of the car. One time i came here and afterwards my car was leaking pretty terribly. Ended up being a several hour clean up job in my garage. Had some issues with my truck not going above a certain speed and called Charlie at CT Auto after getting their name from another local shop which couldn't do the work. I called Charlie, he answered right away (always a good sign), and told me he had the tool necessary to do the diagnostic. I told him I would be right over and he didn't even flinch eventhough he said he was busy. When I arrived, he immediately started working on my truck and within an hour had diagnosed what was wrong. He has given me pricing and labor cost and its very fair. I really need the truck so he saved my behind. Its so hard to trust mechanics because you're trusting their word and like me, most people don't know anything about the inner workings of cars/trucks. First of all, Charlie is very honest and and dependable to do work properly without telling you to do work that are unnecessary. He is willing to work with you if you have a tight budget. A customer of mine had dropped off some business cards at my store which had gotten some work done from Charlie at this repair shop and told me how great of a job Charlie did on his car. I usually do my research before going anywhere to get a repair done for my CLK430 Mercedes which needed new brakes, so I called around local shops and got some high prices and bad attitudes. Most of them said I need rotors and there is no way they can replace it without that ( which isn't true ). So after getting a couple of quotes, Charlies great attitude, and professionalism appealed to me, so I took my car in for inspection, he told me that it will take a few hours to see, and since I live local, he offered to drop me off at home ( most shops will not do courtesy like that! ) I got a call back with the estimate which I found was a fair price and told him to work on it, he got the job done, and also fixed my glove compartment , the latch was broken and he fixed it at NO CHARGE! that guy is amazing! He told me that I also need to get my tune up done since I had not done in a while, so I saved up some more money and took my car back in, and got my tune up done through him and also my Smog check. I had a very bad experience.Went for an oil change and enquiried about a small engine noise.Charlie the owner told $200 but finally charged me $750 for a harmonic balance change. Expensive than a dealer. But the noise was louder after replacing new Harmonic balancer.when asked why he didn't diagnose the actual problem, He turned rude asking to take the car and he cannot fix . But the bill he provided had crank shaft mentioned , so that's not legitimate . Don't go to this shop ,rude owner and inexperienced mechanic.Will caused more damage to your car. read more

Have a Jetta and the drivers side window stopped working. I called around and everyplace was quoting 300-400 needless to say that's a lot of money. I saw CT's on yelp so went in to get a quote Charlie was very friendly and very quickly gave me an exact quote of 240. I said yes and within 1.5 hours it was fixed, I also had a bumper that was partially hanging off he fixed that as well and didn't even charge me!!! Very bad experience for repair of my car Mazda 3 as well as GMC Cargo Van. He messed up with my vehicles. He has no knowledge about cars and vans. Inorder to fix the problem, he used cheap parts. I got fixed my Cargo van from him, he said its Transmission fuel filter is bad and need to change, due to this it was making noise, but after changing the same, the noise was same. Same thing he did with my car Mazda 3 and installed very cheap break pads and totally messed up the breaks. read more

Guys don't believe this guy Charlie , he is not a man of his words !!! Very Bad Experience !!!!!! I went to this auto repair center when my car had some issues with oil leakage from engine and was advised to get a new engine gasket by Charlie . I bought the engine gasket by myself and Charlie charged me $60 for changing it . After a week of changing the engine gasket , my car started giving me trouble and would stop anywhere/anytime and would not start and I had to get it towed twice . I took my car back to Charlie and he said that New Gasket that was replaced by him was defective(without even checking) and asked me to get a new one and would change it as the oil was going into the spark plugs causing the car to stop and that he would not charge me again . I agreed to what ever he said and again went back to him on a weekend asking him to replace the gasket and he rudely said that he is very busy and cant do it the very day and asked me to come sometime later .The following weekend I got my car towed to his shop as my car would not start again with the new gasket and seeing me this guy Charlie says that he is very busy and will not be able to fix my car and that he would charge me $80 again for changing the gasket !!!!!!!! When I questioned him as to why would he charge me again , he goes " As you did not get the part from me so I will have to charge you " After this incidence I told him that i am going give my review and he was like do what ever you want to ..I don't care !!! This guy is not a man of his words . I wasted my time/money/energy by going to this unethical/unprofessional "so called Car Mechanic" Charlie . He is WASTE !!! read more

I have a 2004 BMW 325ci and it was over heating while on the freeway. I was recommended by a good friend (a few months back) to go to CT Auto Repair since that was where he had his car worked on. He diagnose my issue, found a big hole in my coolant reservoir and also found that my water pump was badly damaged. Both parts were replaced and the price was just right for my small wallet :-D.
