Everything is locked up and takes staff 15+ minutes to come unlock anything. Save your time and go literally anywhere else. They also have an issue getting expired food off the shelf so check EVERYTHING before paying. Self checkouts are permanently closed. Which is fine cus everyone would just steal otherwise but they then only have 1 or 2 people checking out. The store is gross and not cleaned. I try and go anywhere before coming to this one.

No outside view due to glass protection

Five stars because I visited this place after the riots: it was still standing and Functional as if nothing happened. It was one way to enter and leave. All the glass were barricaded. Most people and all employees were wearing masks. Parking was clean despite everything that happened the night before. Restroom was clean despite everything going on in the Twin Cities. Pandemic and riots didn't seem to affect the energy of the employees. It is one of the only stores that are still functioning in the area despite the riots. Thank you for being there for us!

CUB FOODS in UPTOWN. These are fruits and vegetable arranged in a fab Fall display. So how about them apples . . .

I just rented in the area for a place to stay and entertain when I travel here. I understand it is a bit smaller than other CUBs in the chain, but they have a nice assortment of price points on upscale brands. The staff is wonderful. One of their cashiers, Fred, is just a joy. He's quick, efficient, and can still listen to your bad day. Fred always has a funny little take on your situation that leaves you laughing. In spite of stocking around the clock the staff always has time to answer your question.

I like this Cub store rehomed in the old Rainbow Foods store mostly because it's one of the grocery stores close Cub to where I live. I have to remind myself, "It's not Rainbow!" LOL Also, I've learned that not all Cub Foods stores are alike. Obviously, some are larger than others and have more/better offerings. . Aside from that, I REALLY appreciate the Supervalu Wild Harvest organic/natural brand. The Wild Harvest-labeled items are usually far cheaper than almost all other organic brands, which helps a lot. A pound of organic Wild Harvest coffee can be as cheap as $3.99 on sale versus $8.99 for a canister of organic Trader Joe's coffee. All-in-all, it's a solid grocery store that is accessible and has affordable, quality food and good sales. The Rainbow Foods theme song is cooler, though: " Low, low prices on the GOOD STUFF--Rainbow Foods--da-da-da!" LOL :D

Employees are rude. Store is dirty. Fruit is routinely moldy or dessicated. Shelf items are routinely past sell date. Don't shop here.

So close to home I go here every time I grocery shop. Yesterday, Ronnae was my cashier. She was delightful and made my day. Super friendly!

I have been shopping the grocery story & wine shop for about 15 years. I'm in the store(s) 4-5 days…read moreper week, spending roughly $500 per month between the two. I have over half a dozen friends working there, the regular staff all know my face, and I even recently interviewed for part-time work there. I do not like paying 5 cents for a plastic bag every time I swing through for a few items, so I decided to bring my own bag today. It's a messenger bag that rests on my back, no side pockets. Many customers in the store carry purses and/or reusable hand bags. All of these people have immediate access to their style of bags, whereas my messenger bag would require me to take it off my back in order to open it. As I walked by a very indiscreet undercover security member I hear a man's voice telling her via radio to keep an eye on me. I was then followed around the store for the entire visit, again very indiscreetly. I say this as someone who has worked professionally in security from bars, to retail, to IT. When I realized I forgot an item in the produce section I walked all the way back across the store, only to see a male security member come out of the back and proceed to follow me to the register. I intentionally chose a lane with a bagger, and showed him there was nothing in my bag before handing it to him. At the end of checkout the cashier asked me if I'd like to keep the 5 cents or donate it. This was new to me since I normally do self-checkout, so she explained that the 5 cents is a form of encouragement to bring my own bag. I replied to donate it, then said it was ironic considering security followed me around the entire store for wearing a bag that I was now being rewarded for bringing. She snapped at me and said "Well if you have a problem, my manager is right over there", and pointed to the self-checkout where the manager present has known me for quite some time and is always very friendly to me. Normally I decline a receipt when asked, but the cashier printed it without asking me. Seeing as I was only making an observation and not trying to escalate like the cashier was now doing, I deferred from chatting with said manager, and walked out of the store after placing my receipt into the donation box towards the Animal Humane Society like I always do. I have enjoyed the niche items that Kowalski's offers that other grocers do not, but considering these other stores sell the same common products for up to 40% cheaper, and considering the harassment by security and the poor customer service today, I will forego these niche items in favor of shopping elsewhere from this day forward.

This place is horrible for customer service. They don't even say hi to the people that walk through…read moretheir lines. It's pretty sick. And they can be relentless when it comes to getting butter for your bread when you sit down and eat it. No offense, but did you notice how much you're charging for bread to begin with. And the amped up amount of prices you're putting in the up scale amount you add to each retail piece on the store you should be giving away butter for free lol. It makes me uncomfortable in this store if it wasn't so convenient I would never come here. I came complained about a soup time. It was so bad. I ended up throwing it away. They didn't reimburse me nor did they ask if I wanted to try a different soup instead. Just oh well and about their business they went. Terrible customer service. I would give zero stars if it was an option!
