Great espresso. I usually get the colada, which is like a double espresso with sugar (I think its supposed to be 4 one oz. shots, which counts as a double to me). $2.50 is a good deal. Breakfast sandwiches also good (try the mainlander). Not a fan of the regular coffee or their version of the red-eye (regular "gringo" coffee + espresso shot mix). read more

Stopped in the off Duval location for coffee and a bite of breakfast one morning on the suggestion of a friend that frequently visits. The cafe con leche and colada were legit and any Ybor City or Miami Cuban coffee shop would have a run for its money to do better. The breakfast sandwiches were made to order, but came out quickly and were delicious. The Cuban bread they were on was pressed and toasted as it should be, but didn't have the crunchy crust that a loaf from La Segunda would provide. But I can't fault them for that since they are in Key West and not Ybor and some things just can't be duplicated. This is basically a food stand with a few picnic tables under a porch with the ever present Key West chickens and cats adding to the experience. This is a must for any coffee lover. The Cuban coffee is the best on the island and the breakfast sandwiches were delicious. Just sad we found this towards the end of our trip. To top it off, the ice cubes are made of coffee so you don't lose flavor as you sip your iced coffee con leche. read more

5 stars simply for the fact they use coffee ice cubes in the iced coffee, that in itself is just brilliant, Iced coffee was good, I think it was a bit pricey but still less than Charbucks and a lot better. I will go back again because of the coffee ice cubes, way to not ruin iced coffee. read more

This is my favorite coffee place. I go everyday and usually get an iced coffee or a frappe. Bruce is ALWAYS my barista and is an amazing one at that. He gives fast friendly and courteous service. He makes the minutes that I don't have coffee much more enjoyable. I recommend this place to everyone. I was visiting from Olympia WA and couldn't find any coffee stands. Had heard of cuban coffee and wanted to try it. Found the Coffee Queen downtown and it became the highlight of downtown Key West. Ordered my first iced latte-strong, flavorful with coffee ice cubes, heaven. Literally sucked that down in 5 min and immediately ordered another! The staff was great and kind enough to sell me a can of this wonderful brew. Wish we had this at home, where we do take our coffee seriously! I was told that this place has good coffee so I brought my family for lunch and a coffee. I stood at the counter for 11 minutes ( yes, I timed it ) and was never even acknowledged by the two people behind the counter. The only had two other customers, both of whom already had their offer. Read the great reviews about this place so decided to give it a try for lunch. I ordered a Cuban mixed sandwich with a diet cola for myself and a grilled cheese sandwich and mango smoothie for my partner. When ready they call you for your order. First the mango smoothie was not the best. It tasted more like a carrot beverage. When I was called for my order I got the Cuban sandwich with no cheese and no grilled cheese sandwich. The guy who took my order had a heavy accent. He thought I asked for a Cuban sandwich with no cheese! Fortunately the sandwich was very large so I was able to share with my partner. I was excited to see that there was a Cuban Coffee Queen Downtown as I had been to their other location on Margaret St the day before and fell in love! But how unfortunate that I did not fall in love with their downtown location. I went to place an order with a friend for a couple iced coffees and hot cafe con leche and the young male employee serving us was the definition of RUDE. There was a mix up of the order and instead of courteously remaking one of the drinks, he huffed and puffed angrily stating, "I repeated the order to you like three times. What is it you exactly want?" My words to him were, "I would like the decaf iced coffee WITHOUT milk, WITHOUT sugar, and WITHOUT THE ATTITUDE." To which he huffed and puffed again saying he couldn't make an iced decaf coffee because all the iced decaf coffee had run out. At this point, another man (manager?) came out from the back and explained how he could solve this earth shattering problem to which said rude employee threw up his hands exasperated spitting out, "Alright then you do it, I can't deal with this anymore!" and stomped off to the back. Like.... What... in the world...?! How old are you to be throwing a temper tantrum in front of customers? Sad because they do have great coffee, but meeting this rude employee completely tainted my image of the coffee shop. Hope management is able to better train their employees on how to be more polite and respectful to their customers. read more

Great value in an expensive city. We got a breakfast sandwich and a Cuban. The breakfast sandwich with chorizo was good, but the Cuban was fantastic. We also got two iced Cuban coffees, both were very good. The sandwiches are very filling, so I should have gotten the half sandwich and coffee for $4.50. Hard to beat in Key West. read more

This gem was located just a few blocks from my hotel. Great service and outstanding cafe con leches, I had both hot and iced several times during my stay. I tried the pan cubano dipped in the cafe con leche which was ok but on it's own was delicious. Luckily since I was on foot during my stay I was able to try both locations. I was very annoyed when the person who took my order did not give me my change. I bought 2 coffees and gave him a 10 dollar bill. After taking the bill, he immediately turned around to where they were making the coffee and proceeded to talk to the other workers, completely ignoring me. I was pretty stunned. I don't appreciate it that I had to wait for him to finish talking and for me to then request my change! I will never go back there!!! read more
