We stay nearby when in key west. Here for extended periods of time. We have given the benefit of the doubt three times trying this location. Each time we had to wait an unreasonable amount of time to get s cup of Cuban coffee. Once we left before it was even made after paying up front. The price is fair at 2 bucks but frankly I'd rather pay more and not wait around for them. 5 brothers a few blocks the other way a better cup of Cuban coffee and much prompter service. 3 times your out. An excellent way to kick off our first day in Key West. We had our 2 kids in tow and we were looking for something quick before we went to the Hemingway House Museum. We got to the counter and my hubs and I ordered the breakfast burrito made with sausage. He had hot coffee and I ordered iced. Our kids had eggs and chocolate croissants. Our drinks came first and it was love at first sip. My iced coffee had coffee ice cubes to keep it from getting watered down. Be still my caffinated heart! Our food arrived and the breakfast burritos were huge! We could have shared one. We powered through the burritos (complete with plantain chips) and finished our cuban coffee. Our kids enjoyed their breakfast - along with pineapple juice. We were fed, full, and ready to conquer Key West. Give them a try, you won't be sorry! read more

The best iced coffee of my life. It comes with cream and you have the option to sweeten. The plain coffee has a hint of sweetness from the cream, it's delicious. I got mine with no added sweetener or flavors but you have the option to add caramel, vanilla, mocha, or cane sugar. The ice cubes in the iced coffee are made of coffee. Probably this was a good place for Cuban coffee, but I should have tried it in the first place right? we did go to this place before the closing time at it was mentioned in their site or yelp ( I don't remember now) but the lady in the shop said they were closed. I'm on the edge of 3-4 stars. If nothing else, Cuban coffee queen is consistent. They are affordable. The sunrise special is one of the best breakfast deals around & probably the most affordable for what you get in key west. The only reason I went 3 stars instead of 4 is that it can be quite a wait sometime which gets me antsy on my way to work. With that call your order in ahead of time & it's all good. The female working the cash register was condescending and rude for absolutely no reason. Even though it was close to our condo, we chose not to go back. *on a side note, we went to their sister store and I'm pretty sure the same female waited on us but this time she was super friendly. Excellent sandwiches! I ordered the Cuban Queen Mix ($7.95) and it was a monster sandwich with amazing ingredients. It shifts away from a traditional Cuban sandwich by adding bacon, but taking away the pickle. It was more of a Unique Cuban club sandwich. There is the traditional Cuban sandwich to order which I will be coming back to try! The Cuban Queen Mix has its own unique flavor that I could not put down. The bread was toasted perfectly and the crispy bacon was an awesome addition to a legendary sandwich. I also ordered the cafe con leche that also impressed me. The only thing that lowers my 5 stars to 4 stars is the side that came with the sandwich. I ordered the black beans and rice that was very bland. I tried to enjoy the side by adding the green dragon sauce they had, but it did nothing. The beans were not exciting at all. No onions, green peppers, garlic... Man, I was disappointed! Don't order it. This was the only Cuban place I know that doesn't take pride in their rice and beans, but I would still recommend this place hands down!! read more

This is, hands down, the best Cuban coffee in all my travels. It'll make you want to write a review. If you order the iced coffee you will find the ice cubes are actually espresso cubes, so your coffee gets stronger as you drink it. The staff is super friendly and tatted-up as any self-respecting barista should be. With that out of the way, I'll get into the crux of my review. One day a gnat fell in my Cafe Con Leche and anger is what I felt. I considered tossing it, but I came to my senses and tried fishing out the gnat but it only sank deeper. Unwilling or unable to give up the coffee, I figured I'd simply use my teeth as a sieve to take in the coffee but prevent the gnat from gaining entrance. I sieved and I sieved all the way to the bottom and it wasn't until there was no more coffee that I realized I definitely consumed a gnat. I guess my point is... I like their coffee.
