Coming from Tampa, Florida, where Cuban cuisine is a staple, I was excited to find Cubanidad in Henderson and eager to try their take on the Tampa Cuban Sandwich. However, I was disappointed that they do not use traditional Cuban bread, a crucial element of an authentic Cuban sandwich. While the sandwich was decent, the lack of traditional bread made it fall short of expectations. The same goes for the French fries, which were average at best. That said, there were definitely some high points. The staff I engaged with was friendly. The Guava and cheese Pastelito was fantastic--flaky, rich, and flavorful, exactly what I had hoped for. The cane sugar lemonade was also refreshing and well-balanced. The overall dining experience left something to be desired, mainly because the restaurant was quite warm--almost uncomfortably so--which made it difficult to fully enjoy the meal. Additionally, I was disappointed that this location does not offer the 1885 Salad, a menu item available at their other locations. Having lived in Tampa, FL, I particularly looked forward to trying their version of this well-known salad. Despite these drawbacks, I will likely return to give Cubanidad another try and explore more of their menu. Made a phone order of 4 sandwiches and 1 pastry thinking it would take 15min or so but Kevin assured me it would be ready in 5min!! Gotta love the speed and focus they put into every order. It was my fault for not checking the bag before leaving but I was just too excited to get the Medianoche in my belly. After all the sandwiches were done we noticed the pastelito a missing. Called back and they apologized and said it's ready for pick up whenever I was. When picking up our coconut pastelito, the guava pastry was looking like a good idea so I asked if I could purchase one, Kevin said it was on the house! I'm not saying you should expect anything if the order is wrong but kindness goes a long way and their staff really knows how to give Great customer service.
