Excellent wow. I'll be thinking about this meal for a while. When we came out to eat I wasn't expecting this meal to be as flavorful and fulfilling but it was perfect. I usually have to travel into the south for this type of goodness - and for those of you on the fence, this DOES NOT have the odd mechanical flavoring like Dallas bbq/Dinosaur etc. First, The size of each item was very very generous. The burger my husbae had was legit the size of my two hands together. And he couldn't even eat it all in one sit. We ordered it medium and it was the exact temperature - just how he likes it. Mashed potatoes had a creamy texture with a buttery taste. Baked beans were exactly how I like them - sweet and not too tangy - with garlic bread on the side. And with that, I had a pulled pork dish (originally a 1/2 sandwich, but with the bread on the side). Nothing had a salty after taste including the garlic bread and burger which commonly does get a little salty at other establishments. The Cole slaw came with our platters and the complimentary size was perfect for the intense flavor. Everything tasted like a traditional mom-and-pop restaurant - like they "put their foot" in it. There were so many options to choose from but the man taking our order was very nice and patient while we worked through it. . A couple of things to mention: as we walked in someone told us that it was good but "very expensive". But with the sizes and good flavor of everything, it will be well worth the money and there are so many things to choose from, anyone can find something in their price point. For instance, our 10oz burger had a 4oz version which sounds small but is a "quarter pounder". There are also a few chalkboard menus behind the register that has specials. There are also healthier options if you need more greens on your plate. I was tempted but couldn't resist the items we ordered (large photos of food throughout) We will be back. I went to Cubby's for lunch and shared a full rack of the famous baby back ribs with a friend along with a side of mac and cheese. The ribs were possibly the best I've ever had! The meat was so tender and came off the bones so easily that I could simply use a fork to eat it! The bbq sauce was pretty good. The ribs also came with garlic bread, which was soft and tasty. The mac and cheese was fine. The full rack of ribs is $25 and was enough for me and my friend to feel full after sharing it, making it a good deal. The staff at Cubby's is super friendly. They don't serve the tables (they have the buzzers that alert you when your food is ready), but they do have staff to come by and help you clean up after your meal. The service speed is average. There is plenty of seating inside the restaurant, and there is a parking lot outside. Overall, Cubby's has tremendous baby back ribs and very friendly staff, so I am giving it a 5 star review. Cubby's was on the way home, and I remember passing by it a few times, plus it having pretty good reviews, so we decided to order from here. We got a full rack of ribs, and they were really good. They fell right off the bone, and the sauce was great. Go into a trance-like state, where all you can think about is putting this heavenly piece of bread into your mouth hole. This is the fastest you've ever eaten. You are stuffed. This is only a half-sub, you got it for 9 dollars. But you'll definitely need help to finish. Give half to your dad, who finished his Texas Wiener and is working on the fries. Savor the moment. I don't order the ribs, but when I'm craving a good quality burger and fries, this is one of the places I visit when I'm in the area. I get the five oz. burger; the 10 oz is more than I need. Good food but there is no way around it - it's overpriced. Except the food quality is tops and you will ALWAYS leave with a doggy bag. So that kinda of kills the overpriced argument. That said, no one does my hot wings better. My elders love their ribs and sweet potato. The kids will eat there with no complaints too! Cheeseburgers, hot dogs, ribs, steaks, sandwiches, fried fish, all of their sides - mac n cheese, m. potatoes, french fries, sweet potatoes - all top notch and big servings. The past year or so they also started selling beers, wines and sangria. After a long, crappy day at work the owner greeted me with a big cup of the sangria when I went to pick up our food tray. Frankly, it was better than a hug! So while it's not a weekly spot, it's definitely worth the trip and expense when I go. The restaurant is clean and well kept. The staff is always polite and helpful. It's really just no-frills but warm and relaxed atmosphere with well-done food. I've been coming for years and I'll continue to do so.
