First time for breakfast at Cubbies. I had ricotta lemon pancakes with blueberry compote. They are very light and delicious. My daughter had brochettes French toast with strawberries. The food is decent - a step up from the fast food burger options in the neighborhood. But the waits! We've waited 20+ minutes each of the last few times we've been. Not awesome in the quick-serve game. If they could figure that out, it would be worth the occasional stop. This location just opened and I was so excited! I've never tried Cubbys before but I have heard people rave about it. It totally lives up to all the hype. It was really busy but we were still able to snag a seat pretty quickly. I'm sure it was so busy because it just opened. The ordering is similar to a Zupas or Noodles and Company where you wait in line to order then they bring the food out. I was glad the line to order was longer cause I wasn't sure what to order. I ended up getting the Tri-tip sandwich and the buffalo fries. Seriously they were both amazing! The sandwich was so savory and just the right size. The beef on the sandwich was so tender. I was worried the fries were going to be spicy. I asked the guy ringing me up and he said they were like a 2 on a scale from one to ten. I would say that is spot on. They were amazing! I was so sad when they were gone. Just the right amount of spice! I will 100% be coming back often because it is just 5 minutes from my house and so delicious! read more

Overall this place offers good food. My party was mostly pleased with their meals, albeit a little pricey for the value. Their dessert cookies were delicious but my goodness the amount of sugar is crazy! I only took a few bites and I could tell my heart was racing. Ordered the dragonslayer burger, the Houdini burger, and two mac and cheese. The fries were weak, but nicely complemented with chipotle fry sauce. The burgers are the real deal with plenty of flavor and topping. The kids gave me the dumbs up on the mac and cheese as they snarfed down their serving and a side of fruit in a bowl. As a lover of anything with buffalo sauce and the sacred Tatonka sandwich, I had very high hopes for Cubby's. Perhaps my preconceptions were such that a successful first visit would be impossible. Needless to say I left the South Jordan Cubby's underwhelmed. The first strike came with the ordering process. The menu is on the wall as you enter and the line is formed along the same wall so the process began with an unnecessary stress level reaching the ordering station before I even understood what was available. Panicked, I ordered anything I saw that mentioned buffalo sauce. I ended up with a Tatonka chicken sandwich and some buffalo blue cheese fries which I had seen photographed several times by previous Yelpers. After the young cashier manning the iPad took our order and yelled a couple of our selections in the direction of the kitchen as if she was plagued by a psychological disease, she handed us a metal cow with a number on it and some empty drink cups. Strike two came with the beverage battle. It has become an unpleasant trend at quasi fast food restaurants to allow their customers to engage in hand to hand combat on a quest to fill their own beverage. At this establishment you will almost certainly encounter a forceful lady that has no regard for personal space and the dreaded child with no manners. If you obtain your beverage without feeling rushed or violated in any way, my hat is off to you (that or you are one of the two aforementioned offenders, in which case we shall inevitably meet again at the next beverage war zone). Finally the third strike was the uncomfortable dining situation. All seating areas are fashioned out of hard uncomfortable wood from the plywood benches (equipped with various plugs and usb outlets)to the preschool craft table chairs. The dining area is cold, loud, and cramped. I will opt for outdoor seating next time provided it is less than 105 degrees or possibly take out. The food turned out to be pretty good. My chicken sandwich is not quite what I had in mind, but the bread was delicious and substantial enough to absorb the sauce and maintain structural integrity down to the last bite. The fries were soggy and frigid in seconds which was very disappointing. My date ordered a "grilled cheese" and some sweet potato fries which I will spare you the details on due to length and biased opinions on grilled cheese etiquette. She said her meal was ok, but I was tasked with finishing her soggy cold sweet potato fries because she was, "not a fan." The conclusion we reached was that it was just ok and not worth the $30 and 35 minutes spent. I do feel that it is worth a second trip and next time I will be sure to sample the tri tip. read more

I downloaded this app JUST so I could leave this review! I went in last night, and had what started out as a terrible experience. My burger came out wrong... twice. The second time I sent it back it was taking for-ever to come back out, like, 45 minutes. Just as I was about to leave, and never come back, the manager noticed me sitting there, and she came over. Abby was so nice, and she really went above and beyond to make sure my burger was prepared exactly how I wanted it. I'm so glad they righted it because their food is amazing. The Food here is actually decent. But the service at this location is ridiculous. Been here 3-4 times now, not once has our order been right. Twice TO-go orders which we had to bring back to get steak they left off a salad and a completely forgotten order another time.
