I want to post an update to my prior review…read more As bad as the moving experience was, Piece of Cake Movers completely changed my view when it came time to address the issues I raised afterward. Emily handled my concerns with professionalism, fairness, and real diligence. She could not have been nicer. She listened, took the issues seriously, and worked through them in a way that felt fair and respectful. My original concerns about the move itself remain what they were. But I also recognize that any business of this size can occasionally have a bad crew or a bad experience in the field. What matters is how the company responds when that happens. Here, the response after the move was excellent. Credit is due where credit is due: the post-move customer service, especially from Emily, was outstanding. For that reason, I am giving the company 5 stars for how it handled the aftermath and resolved the issues. I will use them the next time I move. Emily was that good. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thank you, Emily.

I was leaving a large multi level condo in DC, and taking (most of) that furniture to New York. As the day began, I thought - there is no way it's all going to happen today. Even my closets alone would surely take a day. but again - I was wrong. It was a seamless move - worth every penny - in the past I've felt incredible stress on these days, but today I felt more like the wrench in the well oiled machine. Which is awkward but better than stress. 10/10 recommend - the level of care and expedience exceeded my expectations. Ivan and the crew were kind and tidy.

I can't get these boxes by going by supermarkets, I need real boxes that have never been used. It's not me, it's my stuff - none of my things like to be anywhere where food, livestock or various sundries have been first. I have ordered from U-line in the past, but their shipping is outrageous, almost as much as the whole order. I did a little Google search and found suppliesformoving.com. At the time of the order, I had no idea they were in Brooklyn. The site is clean and all the information is readily accessible. One can guarantee that this website did not cost a lot of money, but it works. One of the best things about this company is that they have pre-prepared packages of boxes, tape, etc. divided by room and/or rooms which makes it a little easier. They have boxes for junk, boxes for tvs, boxes for lamps - are you following me here? They have supplies for moving - tape, blankets, plastic wrap, paper. So I go online and make my order (FREE shipping by the way on everything!) and expect it to come in a couple days according to the site. After the confirmation of sale is where it gets good. 30 minutes pass and I get a call from the company saying they can deliver today, the same day, in the late afternoon. OK. One hour later I get another call that they can deliver right now. Yes please. Approximately three hours after I ordered many, many boxes, they arrived in perfect shape. Having no idea this company was in Brooklyn, I guess I should consider myself lucky. The customer service was fantastic and the boxes have been working just fine. If you want quick, efficient service and if you want to get your supplies to pack and move in an instant, go to suppliesformoving.com.* ________________________ * If all of the bottoms of the boxes break while moving, damaging all of my kids' toys and my valuable possessions, I reserve the right to come back and be extremely agitated.

Now in 2026, I sought him out again and was happy to see his firm has grown significantly since my first experience six years ago. The pandemic years really did warp time! Even after all this time, Aron was quick to respond and connected me with Jacob. Jacob has been fast, communicative, and accommodating. I'm happy to report the firm remains just as committed to a superior moving experience. Jacob walked me through every scenario and potential challenge for our upcoming move and provided an excellent price. Moving in NYC is rarely stress-free, even with meticulous planning, but I'm feeling confident. The move is coming up soon--I will update this review then, but fingers crossed for another smooth experience! Update from move day (UES to UES) : we had to reschedule our original move date due to unforeseen circumstances. I reached out to Up and Go on the morning of the move and Luka got back to me at 6 AM. I was so relieved he gave me a new date and time (and charged me a reasonable reschedule fee) and the crew showed up on the new date and time and were exceptional. Shout out to sr. Bojan, Jr. Bojan and Lala. Really the speediest moving team. All in all I am so happy with our moving experience, they really are Up and Go!

I hired them to move furniture from a storage unit in New Jersey to my apartment in Brooklyn. Before the movers started loading, I personally walked through the storage unit and pointed out everything that was supposed to be transported. Despite that, one of my largest items, a standing mirror, was left behind. What made the situation even worse was the conflicting information I received. When I asked where my mirror was, I was initially told it was in the building lobby. Later, I was told it had never been transported because it wasn't on the inventory. Those explanations contradict each other, and no one took responsibility. The move also resulted in damage to my carpet and trash can. Several of my moving boxes were crushed, and my sofa was wrapped so poorly that the protective wrap had already come apart during transport. Instead of addressing these concerns, the company responded with excuses and attempted to shift responsibility. Another thing that stood out was that payment was required before the move was fully completed. Looking back, I understand why. Once they had been paid, there seemed to be very little interest in resolving the problems. If something goes wrong during your move, don't expect accountability. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company and would never use them again.

DON'T DARE to think about using this moving company .....I WOULDN'T EVEN TRUST THEM TO MAKE A FOOD…read moreDELIVERY!! We decided to use this moving service to support a local business in Astoria and also discovered that the owner (Moses "BEN" Benliza) lived two blocks away from us. He came to our apartment to inspect the items we had and take photos before providing a quote. Upon delivery, we received 13 boxes of wet, mildewed, damaged boxes which included a large portion of our work clothes, important documents/books, and small electronics (i.e., 3 laptops and routers). Our mattress and was wet/damaged, and they never wrapped two sectional pieces of our cream-patterned banquette couch because they thought the sheet that I laid on top of it just to keep it from getting dirty was sufficient (resulting in a damaged couch and dining table). We are also missing a lampshade because they left it at an auto shop while replacing a flat tire during the move. Our floor got chipped/scratched because one of the elderly, very frail men he hired to unload the truck dropped our armoire. Ben's cousin, Steve, is the driver of the truck, and I was recently informed by another friend who used Benliza's moving services of an equally horrible experience because they arrived five hours late to start the scheduled move after claiming a cat was inside the engine. Please do yourself a favor and find another moving company that doesn't try to take shortcuts. Have a look at the photos I have included and ask yourself if this is how you want your items to arrive. He is unprofessional and has absolutely no idea of how to run a business. I am perplexed as to how he is still operating and wouldn't wish this on my worst enemies. DISHONEST/UNETHICAL/UNPROFESSIONAL/UNPREPARED/UNORGANIZED * has a known leak in the roof of the truck that Ben deliberately chose not to repair but still books moving jobs knowing there could be a risk of water damage to items * did not wrap several items despite charging an additional $630 for wrapping materials (what kind of moving company doesn't wrap a couch or table?!) * made an appointment directly with our building management to deliver items without confirming or notifying us first of the time (we found out from building management that he did it behind our back). * showed up late when picking up and delivering items despite pushing back the appointment time twice * had to leave in the middle of the move 3 separate times to go out and buy wrapping materials when he was already provided an inventory list, had come to take photos, and inspected items in advance * told us there would be three movers to help pack the apartment but only one showed up who had to leave early (hires guys from Craigslist and other hourly handyman moving apps) * the second group of different guys he hired to unload the truck and bring our items into the apartment chipped and scratched our floor (one was a very frail, elderly man, Reggie, who was too weak to lift much of anything) * the two unloading guys had no idea what to do because there was no one there to provide them with instructions (hired them from some random app) * truck is old and he fails to keep it properly updated (got a flat tire while delivering our items which took 3 days to repair because the lug nuts were so rusty and broke off when the auto shop tried to replace them while our things were still loaded on the truck) * failed to provide an update on when our items would arrive (we had to continuously reach out to him to get an answer)

They scheduled a zoom/facetime walk-thru of my apartment to see what I needed and to give me a better quote. I had started packing already and got all my own boxes so it was easy to see what I had left. What I really liked was the 'no BS' hidden fees. It was one price that wouldn't change, no matter the hours or added last minute box. Of course my move was scheduled and it had to snow. Thankfully this didn't stop them. 4 guys showed up right on time (during a snow storm on a friday morning rush hour in the city). They walked thru and got a game plan, then brought up all the blankets and plastic wrap and got to work. TVs were dismounted and put in boxes, mattresses were put in boxes as well. The amount of blankets they used to wrap my furniture made me so happy. While they took their time, they were still hustling - running from the truck to the apartment. Once we got to my new place, they covered my stairs with runners and wore plastic booties to ensure my floors weren't messed up. I wish I had bought the wall mount for my TVs for my new place, because they offered to set me up. The only thing I was disappointed about was that my couch didn't fit thru the garage entry so it was left in the garage. I wish they had tried thru the front door but they were adamant that it still wouldn't fit. After 7 hours, I wasn't going to push them. Regardless, would 100% recommend Veterans Movers and also hope Roadway doesn't ruin this small-business. I wish I could remember the 4 guys that helped me move to give them a shoutout! Thx!!!
