Been here since 2021, my unit was broken into last month and again this month. No cameras in the lanes where the units are located. Management Yolanda is not very helpful. Contacted customer service to have the district manager Greg contact me On 10/18/24 still have not heard from him. To top it off my insurance fell off so my unit was not covered for the break in. Filed a police report they did not want to let the officer enter my unit to take photos for the report or share the photos the storage site took of my unit. My unit was completely trashed There is so much more involved but I'll end it here I do not recommend CubeSmart at all. read more

Hell no! This place is trash! I purposely left a bag of trash on the fence like 6 months ago and that very same bag is till hanging on the fence. I have ants everywhere in my unit. They increase the price of units within 3 months without notifying you. Then lie and claim they have notified you. As you wait to talk to customer service HQ out of state , not only do they add late fee & additional months . But then refuse to accept partial payments of the initial I notified substantial increased rent. All of which including the lack of flexibility and poor communication of rent increases leads to an inability to access storage unit & an eventual lien to basically take whatever property you thought you secured in personal private storage and have that be auctioned of taken sold otherwise. The employees seem to relish in creating issues. From the lack of rent increase notice which violates the companies contract lease but is also non changeable even by the district manager although it violates the law & their own contract. And once another month is added u are unable to pay rent for one month and must pay bill in full. Beyond that the local employees seem to relish in creating hardship & issue as example when the unit going through documents the staff will drive by on golf carts and tell you that part of there job is to make sure you the tenant renter of unit is always moving & that sitting while organizing items or documentation is not allowed. Beyond all of that & the refusal to slow down a process designed to create a lien on your property, this particular location has small encampments of unhoused people just beyond the fences those people watch and harass the renters even more then the golf cart driving employees, who are rude dismissive disrespectful & appear to be rewarded for their behaviors bad attitude and failure to properly notify tenants of rent increases. And last but not least there are rodents documented by massive amounts of rat shit in and outside the units . So if you enjoy not being told when rent raised , not being able to pay rent while you wait to find out when and why rent increased then not being able to pay any but all of the bill thus not allowing the late fees to stop or the races to the process of putting a lien on your property. Coupled with customer service and district managers that refuse to even attempt to allow you to not feel cheated. Or lied to after the outrageous u notified unexpected rent increase is brought to their attention. Basically stating that there is no error in the poor communication & misinformation of the property staff. All of which coupled with not just a watchful eye on your property but a harassing attitude and dismissive disregard of others and property like prison guards . That watch the strorage renters not dealing with the homeless encampments nor the major rodent infestation issues. Then by all means rent a unit here u will be assured to be treated poorly not informed of rate increases be harassed to stay in motion every time you are there and have homeless people knowing what you store while the rats use it behind closed doors. read more

Incompetent, and what's worse, they don't care about the people they're making money off of. Nicholas N. (he wouldn't give his last name) told me I'd need to complete a specific document and notarize it so that movers could empty my unit while I was out of state. But the document he sent me was impossible to notarize. It was a digital document that, when completed, did not even issue me a copy. I couldn't even view the document again once I'd filled it out. I called them 7 times, leaving 4 messages, to confirm that everything would be okay for pick up despite Nicholas's error before somebody finally answered. Nobody bothered to return my call prior to this. By this the movers were literally on their way. Nicholas didn't admit his mistake, let alone apologize for it. When I mentioned how many times I'd called and how many messages I'd left to confirm that things were okay in spite of his error, he said that they were "busy." I could hear a rude female manager in the background saying that it was "policy" to notarize it. When I asked where this policy is noted, he had no answer. There was no explanation re: why he sent a document that it was not possible to notarize and why he didn't explain any of this in advance. The movers got there, and the female manager would not permit them to access my unit even as I was on the phone authorizing this myself - in addition to the paperwork I had signed and submitted at Nicholas's instruction days before. The manager then actually threatened to call the policy on my movers, who were on the phone with me. Their incompetence and cruelty, really - it was so clear that they did not give a f - is costing me hundreds of extra dollars. They completely fked me over and they didn't care at all. read more

I called the 800 number and the representative qualified me for a promo. Rented a unit for 6 months or so. I never had any problems with theft, payment, pests or anything. An overall good experience. Yolanda is the RUDEST manager. WORST attitude. Do not deal with Artesia blvd and Long Beach Cubesmart. This ignorant women started out our conversation by saying "I have a problem with you." This keep in mind is our first interaction. Every other staff member encounter has been friendly and helpful. How is the manager unaware of providing proper customer service? She also stated she is allowed to speak to me however she wants too when i politely asked her why she was being so rude when i was asking questions about MY PAID for storage. She even had the nerve to lock me out of my gate code. I pay for my storage unit on time, not once have i been behind . I have even paid in office cash early. When i asked her if she fixed my gate code she dismissed me with complete attitude. What gives her the right to lock me out of my PAID for storage? I have had no issues until speaking with Yolanda. this completely rude and unprofessional woman should not be managing. I have reported to her supervisor and will update. I really appreciated how the employees were fantastic in helping me get a storage unit. They truly give it their all, 100%. Sadly, just under a month of renting at this location, my unit was broken into. All my belongings were gone. The facility team was quick to repair the unit door, which I appreciated, but what really worries me is that there are no lights in the drive-up alleys and the surveillance seems minimal. Be aware, if you have two Storage Spaces be sure to keep up with each one and make notes. I went in to make two payments on one of my Storage Spaces and was charged for the wrong one. I was charged for the most expensive Storage Space instead of the least expensive Storage Space due to if I didn't come in they would put a lien on my Storage. So I went to pay, so I should have checked my receipt to make sure I was credited for the right one. I get a call about a couple of weeks later and was told I owed for the Storage I went in initially to pay for. So I was ripped off for not looking at the receipt to see which Storage Unit I went in to originally pay for. I do not recommend this particular Storage Place because of the deceitful underhand practices at this particular Storage. Also be aware of their tricky tactics to get you in. Once you have your Storage, they will go up on the price which makes it hard for you to afford it. You are guaranteed to be ripped off by these people if you keep your Storage for a period of time. They reel you in with a good price and once you're in they Sprang it on you to pay more money. Be aware so you won't be disappointed. Sorry to say but I do not recommend these people. Patronize at your own discretion. You have been warned. Rip off artists there. read more

So I'm conflicted in the type of review I should leave. I've been with CubeSmart since August 2015. Since I've been here, the fees have increased by $100. I was never told why the fees were increasing, just that the following month I'd be experiencing an increase. I don't know how other storage facilities work, but I feel like a month's notice isn't enough time to figure out whether I should look for an alternative facility or not. I notice now that they have deals for people who want to rent now, but once you're a customer, they no longer offer any incentive and it's unconscionable. The initial reason why I went with CubeSmart is because they had a moving truck available for tenants. When I finally needed to use the truck--youuu guessed it: they got rid of it. I wouldn't have had any issue with this, but when rent for a small unit is $144 per month, then of course, I'm wondering what I'm paying for. Here's the conflict: my items have been safe since August 2015. I have not had any issues with breaking in in my particular unit and I believe that the security systems in place here are decent. I've had some interaction with staff. Yolanda was very friendly. There is one other man who is NOT friendly whatsoever. Movers coming in to drop off items couldn't come through the front (so of course they needed to enter through the exit), and instead of talking with me and the drivers (which we were trying to do before they entered in), this particular worker rudely yelled at the movers and said they were trespassing. All in all, the safety here is great, Yolanda was nice, but the pricing and the continued increased pricing is horrible. read more

This place is the worst. They have an average of 2 or more units being broken into a week. One day they broke into over 20 units. The company refuses to put up cameras or hire security guards. I have heard homeless people sleep in some of the units and come out after they close and break into the units. The cost might be cheap but I'd rather not have my stuff stolen. read more

Walked in, office was nice and staff was friendly. Wanted to rent a space because I am moving soon and want to start purchasing furniture withouth having to clutter my house. Laterra helped me with my lease and honestly was so genuine and friendly. I was so happy that I was able to have someone that wasn't just trying to sell me a space. Had I known it would have been this easy, I would have come in a long time ago. She took the time to walk around the facility to show me the space that I would be renting and it was nice and clean. I feel like my belongings will be safe and watched over here. I say that because the staff seem like they are very watchful, going through the facility at all times of the day. Worst storage unit stay away the manager here is very unprofessional and extremely rude and aggressive. The negative reviews aren't there for no reason the units are infested with spiders and roaches they pick and choose what rules they wanna follow it seems, no customer service at all you are the last thing they care about. I went in to the office to tell them that I think they gave me the wrong key as I could not open my other door I got immediate attitude and disrespect from the male employee and when I confronted him about it the manager started yelling at me at the top of her lungs! I never yelled at anyone but I was upset because prior to all this I had to wash my unit cause someone urinated on it! I was then told that I had to move out in 5 days that doesn't seem right to me but if that's the type of action you take to threaten your paying customer over an argument who knows what else they do. I never take the time to leave a review, whether good or bad, however I think it is necessary this time. I have had my items stored at this facility for almost a year, early May I went to get somethings from my unit and noticed rodent feces and urine ruined a lot of my personal belongings. I informed the representative who was onsite and he said Orkin was scheduled to come out to fumigate, not my unit specifically but the facility, he also dropped rodent killer packets in my unit. I was advised to inspect my unit as best as possible (this is a 10x10 unit and although very organized with all items in plastic containers I can only look through so much) I sent photos along with a detailed report on what I found, as requested so an insurance claim could be filed. I sent this over 2 days later and after 3 weeks heard nothing from management. I called and I was told at that time I needed to contact the insurance company myself, this information would have been good to have 3 weeks prior. I contacted the insurance company early June and provided all the information I sent to the facility to them. Yet again, no reply from them either. I finally reached out to my claims adjusters manager and I was advised rodent infestation is not covered under my policy. A policy that the storage facility mandates for every customer. So now I have dead rats throughout my unit, damaged personal property inclusive of clothing, shoes, wicker laundry basket, engraved towels and a couch, things that have been completely destroyed and no one is liable nor will I be receiving any compensation. Paying rent on a storage unit that is not properly being managed or cared for, or there would be no rats infestation on the second floor of an interior storage. I am going to be removing my items from this facility ASAP. And would HIGHLY suggest that unless you are storing JUNK and things you don't care about you DO NOT use this storage space. read more

Some of the best customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I accidentally locked my keys in my car while I was moving some boxes from my unit to my car. I called my roadside assistance and they said it would be 90 minutes to get someone out to me. Somehow Yolanda, the general manager of this CubeSmart found out that I locked myself out and had noticed that me and my mom were still waiting for roadside assistance. Yolanda, then went out of her way and used her personal AAA roadside assistance to help us out. 15 minutes later I was driving back home thanks to Yolanda and her generosity and kindness. Highly recommend this storage facility. Everyone is nice and friendly. The units themselves are pretty well kept. No complaints. read more

Biggest nightmare of my life!!! They didn't update my contact info after 3 separate attempts and then they auctioned off my storage unit because they kept the wrong card on file!!!!! Everything I own.. my entire life... GONE over a couple hundred bucks! And no help at all to recover my belongings and they refused to pay me the additional money that the unit went for. I lost over $50k in belongings to these crooks!!!! I think it is funny that you tell me to reach out to you here on yelp.. but then when I do, nobody even responds to me. You guys are scum and someone in your office bought my storage unit and sold all of my belongings. You had 2 credit cards on file and you did not contact me or my roommate before you auctioned off all of my stuff. And I KNOW you had to have gotten more than the few hundred bucks due on my account for that auction. Why won't anybody tell me what the unit sold for? You're required by law to pay me the overage. This is the worst storage unit experience I've had. I selected this location because of their military discount. They issued me two small units. Maybe I should have done more research on the theft that this facility has had in the past. One of my units was broken into and I was notified at 11:00 in the morning, expected to leave work and secure my belongings in another unit. Instead of giving me another unit closest to the one that burglarized that issued me one far out. I only had time to secure the only that was broken into. I then get a call a week later telling I most move all my property to the new unit or be charged an additional fee. My suggestion to any one wanting to use this facility, is do your research. read more

I've stored my items at CubeSmart for over 4 years and they have been efficient and wonderful to work with. I had a problem accessing the building where my storage unit was located and they had the manager help me in 5-10 mins. The freight elevator wasn't working when I needed access and the manager was ready to resolve the problem in minutes. When I first stored my items, my unit wasn't locked correctly and they took off my lock and put a new one on and contacted me ASAP. They gave me the key for the new lock and showed me that was not locked correctly. When it was time to move out, it was happiness and sadness combined. I am 33 years old and in all my 33 years I've never been more insulted, confused, and disappointed in someone who calls themselves a manager. I came to this location to rent a unit and upon arrival I entered and asked if there was a trashcan I could throw my bottle in to, I saw the trashcan right next to the woman who had such an issue with me, she rolled her eyes and said the trashcan is closed to which I replied close sed I can see it right there by your feet it's not like I was asking a whole lot. In a very confrontational and agressive manner she refused to throw my bottle away. By this time my husband entered the establishment and it was time for us to go view the unit while walking out the door I began to explain to him what just took place to which the lady overheard me I suppose and stared me down the whole way out when we got in and we're prepared to buy the unit she said are you comfortable renting here because if not you can go somewhere else in shock I just told her I'm very comfortable here thank you and she said you know what I just don't think we can rent to you you need to leave and proceeded to swear and say find a unit somewhere else somebody needs to do something about this lady she is beyond unprofessional and is a time bomb waiting for a lawsuit read more
