The reason i selected this unit is because it was close to the elevator. Im a senior citizen. Now im forced to park in the back then walk down to the front office to enter my code to get inside. 12/21/23 - I have been a customer here for just over a year and have had two different sized units. Additionally, this month, my partner decided to rent a unit of her own, as well. Upon coming here, there was a lot of room for desire. Though, I have seen some improvements following John Romero's management. Room for desire- While I haven't had many issues in my storage units, I have definitely witnessed several leaks in the halls during the rainy season. And I would really like for their hours to start earlier and or go later on certain days. Due to work, I can only get in IF I leave work early. Other than that, I'm left to weekends which makes it tough when moving things in /out, which I do, fairly regularly. Last but not least, there were break-ins in the past but I think their vigilance with their cameras have made a difference. There are cameras at all entries / exits as well as in the hallways, abound. Notable- Mariana is one of the leads that I primarily look to for both information and support. She knows the facility well, understand's how things work, is incredibly patient, responsive, and kind. Her customer service is outstanding. If I was you, I'd ask for her when I call. Mariana is one of the primary reasons my partner and I have decided to continue going to Signal Hill Storage in 2024. read more

I only had to rent a storage unit for less than 1 calendar month while I was waiting for my new housing lease to begin. There was a promotion online on their website that gave me one free month (I read all of the details, and it was truly one free month; no gimmicks). So after buying a lock, administrative costs, optional insurance, I paid about $52. (Without the free month, it would've been $350+!) Because I had such a short stay, maybe my review won't hold as much weight as others who stay here for much longer periods. My items were in the condition I left them on. No water leakage, no rats, etc like other reviews have mentioned. The facilities are bare bones. Staff is friendly though! Close out process was very simple and straightforward. One thing I'll say is that their documents are riddled with typos and comes off as unprofessional. I also had to come back the next day because they were off at lunch and weren't planning to be back until 2:30pm, which was slightly annoying. read more

It's a good storage facility for the price. Sure, it can feel a little dated and rough around the corners, but they are constantly improving the facilities and I really appreciate the access times. They have made a lot of great changes to the facility. The smell and dampness in the building are gone. I don't see traces of vermin anymore, and I haven't seen anyone living in their unit anymore either. This new management has really cleaned the place up. read more

Staff is very nice but Elevator has been broken for months which makes it VERY INCONVENIENT - previous manager offered a decent discount upon signing a 6 month deal and that was when elevator worked but now new manager wants full price when elevator does not work. It recently rained and the upstair was flooded and you had to maneuver buckets down the hall from the roof leaking - (basically needed an umbrella) - not happy at all that they offer no discount for the inconvenience - if I could I would be gone now but will be out next month - the place is also damp and ruined some of my vinyls - I would look elsewhere read more

Sooo Disgusting- 2nd time Dead rats in unit. Whole unit smells like rat feces and urine. They Don't care and insurance does not cover. i have everything in sturdy boxes but I still have a lot of cleaning. Massive rate increases. Went from 96$ to 160$ in 2 years. Female at counter is rude and un helpful. Called "new " manager. I know he got my call because he accidentally called right back and then wouldn't pick up. Lots of open units if you want your stuff to be disgusting. Pay more somewhere else. read more

If you're looking for a secure storage facility, this is the most secure facility you are going to find. I call it Fort Knox and the personnel are top-notch. I have had my expensive items stored here for over two years and trust them with everything I have . They have been nothing but a huge peace of mind for me. If they an availability, grab it! You will not be disappointed. I rave to everyone how this "Fort Knox" and professional operation let me sleep peaceful every night. Not to mention, their pricing is easy on your pocket book. I have had other storage units in the past, and they did not even come close to what this storage facility offers. The added bonus is they have remarkable customer service and without their understanding and professional approach, I would have faced loss but they remedied the situation to maintain our business relationship. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!!! Please note that the good reviews only have zero or one review and the bad reviews are veteran yelpers. I was a tenant for 4 years. I had a very small unit and they charged me damn near 300 a month but that is not the worst thing. I had mice urine and feces all my in my unit and one on my things. You would think that is the worst part BUT IT IS NOT! On the day I moved out, it rained and ALL of the units were flooded. The ceiling was falling. I feel for those people that had expensive or sentimental things in their units because they were destroyed. Now you would think the (only) insurance they offer would cover these atrocities BUT they don't. The mice had chewed up my Mac laptop cord and peed on it. I took pictures and the manager took pictures as well including the dead mouse. The insurance did not pay. I truly believe the storage company is in cahoots with the insurance company. read more
