The aroma from the street was intoxicating and the pleasure never stopped, we ordered 2 different bowls beans yellow rice moist shredded pork beautiful slices of avocado mango orange slice and lime to enhance the dishes flavors and if this wasn't good already but then there's crispy salty yummy fried plantain and sweet soft ripe plantain like a bite of fresh plantain pudding. Even though I grab salt and pepper I guess from reaction but absolutely never needed it at all this food was perfectly seasoned and cooked and delicious. This place is a must eat at when your in Portland

This was our first time visiting, and we were not disappointed. Cute little restaurant with very authentic options for Cuban flavored food. I ordered the spicy shrimp bowl with black beans, Platanos, plantains, and instead of rice I opted to have the green salad that had fresh avocado slices on it. Everything was very flavorful. My husband had a Cuban coffee which he said was excellent. He also had the shredded beef bowl which he enjoyed very much. The service was very attentive and friendly. Casual place with outdoor seating in warmer weather. Looking forward to returning to taste some of their other options. Great menu, adult beverages available. Great location on Mississippi, lots of places to walk around and visit after you're done with a great meal.

I have been wanting to go here for so long after seeing the one on Hawthorne and didn't realize there was a second location closer to where I live. I ordered online and it was ready right when I got there. I got the Havana bowl which they do in a half portion. I appreciate that they had that option. The half portion was pretty regular sized too. Only 10$. The meat was really juicy and tender. Loved the maduros and tostones. Avocado was ripe and the mango's were such a nice touch. Beans were flavorful and not bland at all. The perfect bowl. I liked the ambiance inside too. They had indoor and outdoor seating. Large menu, I liked that you could easily find healthy options here too. Employees were friendly. I would definitely come back.

We stopped at Cubo for a late lunch at around 4 PM and we're all extremely hungry Below is my take on each of the items we ordered THE CUBAN Slow roasted & shredded pork shoulder, pit ham, Swiss cheese, house made mojo, caramelized onion & pickl - I would say this sandwich was very flavorful but almost too flavorful for a Cuban , a true Cuban wouldn't have the caramelized onions which I think made this more flavorful MADUROS Fried ripe, soft, sweet plantains - These were delicious, but not as sweet as I expected, still good though HAVANA Slow roasted pork shoulder w/ house made citrus, garlic and onion mojo sauce & caramelized onion - This was pretty good and it all came together really well The rice and beans was what you would expect from most dishes of this nature The service in itself was very friendly and I would go back and maybe try some different dishes

Decent portions for the price. The platanos and plantains were delicious, everything else was okay. They have a nice big seating area, but it was empty when we went

My husband and I had a brisket bowl and a pork bowl and found them to be fresh and delicious. We look forward to exploring the menu further. My husband also had a Housemade guava sparkling lemonade that was fantastic. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly service.

Cubo-sippi! The Mississippi Corridor is awesome for the variety of dining choices and Cubo is a nice flavor choice along the ave. A bright colored vibe inside, friendly service. Food portions are set as a nice small bite, especially their side salad or fries. Great HH, great outdoor umbrella seating.

No flavor in the mojo pork at all. I tried the Havana bowl which came w/ rice, beans, maduros, tostones & mango & avocado in addition to the pork. The meat just tasted boiled plain, I doused with tapatío just to give a bit of flavor lol. The tastiest part was prob the rice & beans. The tostones were pretty good too. They do have a pretty good HH (3-6 I believe) with draft beers for $4.50 and half sandos w/ a side for $8, might come back for that tho. Fast-casual counter service, and with plenty of outdoor as well as indoor seating.

I used to live in Tampa and am always curious about Cuban options in the area. I came with a friend for lunch and was intrigued by the Picadillo Soya bowl. As someone who can't eat beef, I'm always intrigued by a picadillo option I can eat. The flavors were perfect and super tasty! I likes the bowl came with a lovely range of textures from spot-on cooked tostones to black beans that were just right. I look forward to trying more tasty options in the future.

Probably one of the best piñata colda I've had in a while due to how smooth it was. They even have guava colda if you're a fan! The Cuban sandwich is where it's at forget the other stuff- juicy, cheesy, meaty, ugh! I ordered another right after! The service is quick and the ambiance is great for dinner or friends date. Run don't walk!

The flavors perfectly melded together....if this is Cuban food, I wanna visit Havana. The sweet fried plantains were an excellent finish to the complete meal. The portion size would have been gut-busting for one person but just right as a light lunch for me and my better half . Service was friendly & quick, even during the busy weekend lunch rush. It's in the roomy food cart pod at Mcloughlin & Holgate. This place is definitely worth a revisit to try the supposedly "best Cuban sandwich in town!"

Anyone who tries to engage customers has an edge in my opinion! It took a little longer than some food from other carts in our group, but not the longest. However, this spot wins for presentation! Wow! HUGE sandwich! Plantain on top with a little Cuban flag! The sandwich was hot pressed, full of tasty meat - with a hard to identify, savory flavor - delicious! The cheese could have been melted more. I would definitely get again! The sauce was good, too!

The vibes were 10/10 I pulled up a barstool and the menu had a lot of solid, tempting options. I went with a pressed Cuban sandwich topped with fried egg, bacon strips, hollandaise and sliced avocado. Had a beer and a shit, tasty. It was PERFECT. Their space is very colorful and has a lot of fun energy. Their menu is pretty focused but the items all sound very tasty. We went with an Empanada of the day, The Cubano, and the Bandeja. Their focused menu certainly paid off when you see how fresh and well-executed their dishes were. The empanada of the day was a mushroom and cheese. It's made fresh so the cheese was nice and gooey. Their crust is different from what I'm used to. It seems to be a mix of maize and cornmeal rather than flour. I think it gave a nice crunchy crust and slightly chewy inside. A bit small for the price though. The Cubano was again made fresh. Bread was nice and crispy. Inside was filled with hearty meat and cheese. A solid sandwich, especially when paired with their pico de gallo. The start of the meal was easily the Bandeja. You can choose between chicken and flat iron steak for the Bandeja; we went with the steak and we weren't disappointed. It's cooked medium-rare, making the steak super tender. The outside crust was well-seasoned and flavorful. The Plato came with a lot of other tasty things like a perfect over-easy egg, rice and beans, avocado, and the best chicharron I've had. It's small but packed a punch. The outside was crispy all around while the fat layer was still melt-in-your-mouth soft. This dish had everything, perfect for sharing. The staff were attentive and friendly. Happy hour is from 3-5PM on weekdays. All in all, we had an amazing meal and will be spreading the word of their goodness for sure.

The atmosphere itself is classic for what you'd expect of a family run restaurant. There's nice decor on the walls and welcoming music playing. It's not a huge establishment but definitely big enough for multiple parties to sit. I wound up getting the pork sandwich which came out in around 10 min with a small lunch rush. The sandwich was rich in flavor and the meat itself was super tender. The bread was also delicious as I know it's made fresh locally. Some of the bbq flavor and the mayo I couldn't taste so it might have felt slightly one note but it was a good note to say the least. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area.

I've been here twice now while serving jury duty (it's less than two blocks away), and both visits were well worth it. The first time, I had the Cuban sandwich--absolutely delicious. What really stood out was the red sauce--bold, flavorful, with just the right amount of heat to wake up your taste buds. Definitely a solid lunch option if you're in the area!
