We ordered a bottle of wine for the table (Cabernet) which was excellent if your a red wine fan. Also my husband had to me of the best old fashions he has ever had. We started off with the braised octupus (pictured) and carne cruda (pictured). These were both phenomenal everyone loved them. One of my favorite places to go when we're looking for something a little more upscale! The ambiance is outstanding - love the decor inside! The pasta dishes are TO DIE FOR! I will share my experience on two separate occasions: The first time we went in February was probably the best dining experience I have ever had. We ordered the wild boar ravioli and it was fabulous! Everybody was so kind and the food feels straight out of Italy. We went again for my birthday last week and it was really clear they were pretty short staffed. We had the hostess and bartender as our waiters (which was really weird because they were not in communication with each other). The experience was definitely different than the first time. My entree came out a solid 15 minutes before my boyfriends and then it got cold by the time his came out. We didn't make a stink about it because we could tell the staff was stressed and the rest of the food was fantastic! Would still highly recommend, just maybe don't go on a Friday night/weekend. :) read more

Very good experience! The food... Njara pizza is the best thing we had. MUST order it. Smaller than we expected but was actually perfect for 2 to share. Great wine selection, but we are wine people and didn't recognize much on the menu. Ask server for recommendation. My biggest complaint, and reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is that they completely changed 90% of the menu recently, so everything we wanted to order wasn't an option. We were only able to find 1 item in the yelp photos that was still on the menu. Restaurants should understand you should NEVER change out more than 20% of your menu items out for seasonal items. We tried the Shrimp & Pork Belly Tagliatelle and Lobster Bucatini. Both were really good, but there are other things we would have liked to order. The ambiance. Really great vibe and nice decor. My only complaint is that it's extremely loud in here because the building echos. Just know this is not the place for a business meeting or a quiet romantic evening like you may be used to with other Italian restaurants. Service was great! First off the parking situation is really good. There's a huge parking deck right next to and under the restaurant. They also have valet parking. The inside atmosphere is very modern and classy. I'll definitely dress up next time because I felt a little under dressed. The hostess seated us promptly and the waitress introduced herself immediate and our drinks arrived very quick. Note our reservations were for 8 at 6 pm. The cocktails were all delicious. We have several different cocktails which were all tasty. We ordered all the appetizers and the fried calamari to share. First the meat balls are superb. I'm Italian and I'm from NJ so I am a bit picky with my Italian food. These were so moist and tasty. Next time I'm ordering them for myself. They are two very nice size meatballs in one order. The meat & cheese board was just ok. It was extremely small, definitely not a shareable dish for 8. The fried calamari was also AMAZING. It was a very nice size shareable dish with several few large delicious shrimp which were all perfectly breaded. The bread and balsamic olive oil was nice too. There is no extra charge here for bread like at other high end restaurants in north hill. My husband and I both had the seafood stew !!! Let me tell you this is the absolutely best seafood stew I ever had. It was like a wonderful red creamy tasty sauce. I had to use the bread to eat every ounce of this stews. It had 4 or 5 large fresh delicious shrimp, clams, mussels, calamari and a white fish. My other friends had the boar, sausage pasta dish and the whole snapper. Everything was amazing. We also had several desserts. My hubby & I shared the tiramisu which was also good, not the best I ever had but it was very very good. The server was on point all night, clearing our table, filling our glasses and kept the drinks coming quickly. I will definitely be back !! Great job to the chef and owners. The space is stunning and the food is good, albeit a bit overpriced for the relatively small portions. The fiancée and I split the Italian Sausage Pizzette, Squash Arancini, Italian Sausage Tajarin, Crab and Shrimp Agnolotti, and a bottle of a nice Italian red. Fantastic food all around, would order each again but the Agnolotti really stood out. I see they've moved that item up on their menu since we dined there, so I assume others agree. The place is new and there were some small hiccups like being out of a bunch of the menu items, but that's to be expected and does not influence my review. But the portions! $9.50 for a flatbread the size of 4 Doritos. Child-sized portions of the pasta. Small slivers of the free bread and just enough olive oil to make a plate vaguely slick. I hate to sound like such a portion-focused American but for Cucciolo Terrazza's price point, you want to leave full. I would go back, to be sure. But probably just for either A) a special occasion, or B) happy hour snacks and drinks in their swanky bar area. Yes it is that time again, The Shogun has heard of a new Italian restaurant in North Hills that opened recently named Cucciolo Terrazza. Upon entering the Shogun sees that the restaurant has a very energetic vibe and modernity to it, we reserved a spot at the bar and are taken to our seat after entering. We are greeted with kindness and asked if we prefer tap or bottled water, we scan the menu as we order a classic Italian beverage a Aperol Spritz, Toyotomi watches the drink being made by our bartender as she pours in the three parts Prosecco and then the two parts Aperol and then a splash of soda, Perfection!! We decide upon a meal fit for the Shogun, a Pizzette made with Nduja, then a primi course of Agnello Con Le Olive, then a dessert of lemon meringue and custard inside a white chocolate shell. As we wait for the Pizzette we peek into the wine room where you can sit and eat for a private dinner or a event, They also have a Private Dining Room which looks like it can seat a large number of guests in a beautiful room with a long table. But back to what we are all here for Foodzzzz. The Shoguns Pizzette arrives and looks pleasing on the eye as well as in the mouth. Toyotomi's taste buds have begun a war with the Pizzette and the Nduja on top is to die for, many quick bites are had as if it was the last Pizzette on earth.... A magnificent battle of Italian flavors was quickly fought in the mouth of the Shogun, highly recommended this dish will be. Toyotomi was so pleased with this Pizzette that he thinks it would be hard for the main course to top what he has already devoured, as he sits thinking about what the next battle will be like, it arrives with a demanding presence, you can smell the aromatics and see the heartiness of the dish. The lamb is so tender you need no katana to cut it, the nice pop of the olives gives you the texture that compliment's the lamb and the ricotta gnudi. Toyotomi attacks with the speed of a Bajutsu descending upon the battle in the bowl with all his taste bud warriors, victory is claimed as the last bite goes down, a tear is shed that it is over but there is a dessert to go after now, A lemon appears before us on the plate he glances at it up and down, we are seeing a lemon atop some sort of cookie crumb or cake crumbs perhaps. This trick has throw the Shogun a curve ball, what trickery is this. As Toyotomi approaches with the quick dlash of the katana the lemon opens up and reveals the meringue and custard inside, the lemon was actually a white chocolate shell painted yellow to look like a actual lemon. Toyotomi attacks with quick fork hits that the lemon was not prepared for. This dessert is not only pretty to look at but scrimdidlyuptious, if that's not a word it is now. A perfect meal with three courses that leaves you full and pleased. Toyotomi is proud to Announce that Cucciolo Terrazza will receive the highest mark of Five out of Five Katanas, on the imperial katana scale. We loved our visit to Cucciolo Terrazza! We ordered the creamed mushrooms, caesar salad, spicy vodka rigatoni and the shrimp and crab agnolotti. The pasta dishes were perfectly sized and delicious, as well as the creamed mushrooms. The caesar salad was yummy but nothing unique. Next time I would pick something else as an appetizer. We had two cappuccinos to end the dinner which were well made! My only feedback to make the meal even better would be to dim the lights. It felt incredibly bright for a dinner. All the reviews are about right. This is the place you want to love and it just falls short.. well for dinner. Sat at the bar on a busy Friday night. Bartenders were awesome. Female one was making exquisite drinks. Good wine selection. Vibe is super fun... and that's were it ends. Food is not good. Had a prosciutto pizza. It had chunks of potatoes on it. Seriously? Sauce was lacking Crust was close to thin and crispy but no quite. Vodka rigatoni. Meh. Under cooked pasta and sauce was bland. Then had the filet mignon. Cooked to the right temp with good seasoning but put over some weird onion and vegetable thing. It tasted like my neighbors stew. Completely killed the filet. I went to brunch here yesterday for a friends bday. The salad was ok. The prosciutto on the salad was great and the lemon vinaigrette. I'm not a big fan of arugula so I didn't eat much but if you like arugula you will love this salad. For my main course I got steak and eggs with potatoes and it was delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection and the potatoes were good. The sauce on the gravy was really great. I also had a pineapple mimosa which was pretty storm but I like it like that. We wanted to try something new for our Wedding Anniversary and picked Cucciolo to try. We were greeted by the hostess and seated right away. We were told in order to get the drink menu, scan the QR code. Neither of us had any service and there were no signs with any WiFi information on them. Once we finally got the menu to load, we proceeded to wait about 15 mins before anyone came over to take our drink orders. Our reservation was for 7:15, our first drinks came to the table around 7:45. The did give us 2 glasses of Prosecco to celebrate our anniversary which I thought was very nice. To start, we ordered the Seafood Caprese salad and Caesar salad to start. The Caprese was delicious although the scallops were a little on the salty side. The Caesar was good albeit very lemony so if you aren't expecting that, be prepared. For our meal, my husband got the Venison Lasagna which he said was delicious! I got the spicy rigatoni with shrimp that was also delicious. Overall, it was not a bad experience. The food was good but I felt the service to be a little lacking. Maybe they were short staffed but it felt like it took a long time to get drinks, get food, etc... It was also very loud in the restaurant. If you are looking for something quiet or intimate, this is not the place for that. If you are looking for trendy with delicious food, this is the place for you. read more

Water was late, bread had to be asked for. (Look, if you don't get your cocktail, at least some bread and water?) The food. I was alone and sitting next to another solo patron. We both ordered different pastas. Both dishes were smothered, swimming in sauce. Like pasta soup. The flavors were good and the ingredients excellent, but the execution was pasta soup. When the bread came with "EVOO", the EVOO tasted like salt water. Over-herbed, over salted. Good EVOO doesn't need those things. We have never paid more than $40 for this. My husband ordered a pasta first course with clams. Not only was it extremely overpriced but he was hard pressed to find any clams and it was a very small dish. Menu does have unusual items. I ordered an interesting pasta first course with rabbit and fois gras for $34. It was very tasty and rich. My pork chop main course was a good size. It tasted very good but so rich I took home most of it. It was worth the price of $40 but be careful if you have stomach issues. read more
