Multiple people walked past us multiple times who would clear plates for other tables but ignored us. Only our waiter would do things for us. I wanted to love this place. We came here to celebrate myself and my husband recently getting married with some family and friends. There were 8 of us. This place is super overpriced for the food and service we received. We ordered the spiedino alla romana as an appetizer. It looked beautiful but the oil they used to fry was old. Tasted DAYS old. Arancini was ok. The complimentary garlic bread they put on the table was probably the highlight of the night. Some of us ordered the special on a Thursday which was Cacio e Pepe made in a cheese wheel. There was no price on the menu but the $28 for this dish that reflected on the bill was shocking. There was nothing special about it. Didn't get that sharp cheese taste we were expecting and for that price, they couldn't bother to let you watch them make it table side. We passed the rolling cart with the wheel of cheese on it as we walked to our table. Upon asking the waiter if it was to be made in front of us, he said "No, but you could get up and watch them make your order if you'd like." No sir, I would not like to get up from my table and stand in the middle of others seated to watch the pasta be made in the cheese wheel. I ordered the crème brûlée for dessert. Again, beautiful presentation but nowhere met my expectations with taste. It had the crunchy sugar on top but once I took my spoon into it, it was runny. Like a dessert soup. Our bill came and had to be edited TWICE due to the servers error. We paid over $600 for 8 people and two kids that ordered off the kids menu. Had dinner this evening under the tent. They had fans so it was tolerable and a nice atmosphere. Even had outdoor carpeting. There are several areas to eat. Took photos of two of them Service was rough. I think it's because they have to go in and out of the building. We were there for almost an hour before we got our food. Waitress kept disappearing. The rice balls were excellent Lasagne was good and the orichette with sausage was just "okay" The worst part is they hired two ladies to do karaoke and I would rather not have to scream at my friends to speak over the music. If they're going to have dinner music make it a little mellow. It began at 7:30 and went through our entire dinner. Singing songs and telling everyone to stand up and dance. My mom and I came for lunch to cucina calandras when they first opened their flower garden pop up. And it was beautiful!!! I hope they do something similar for the fall season and decorate with pumpkins, fall florals etc. it was just a great idea and I really think they could do so much with that space. Perfect for bridal showers, girls night, family night, you name it! Our lunch was delicious and lemonade was so refreshing! Even though we were outside in the tent, the wait staff was very attentive to us which was great. We are big fans of the calandra restaurants and is always our first suggestion when we have guests come into town too! 10/10 read more

I attended a baby shower brunch here. I was hesitant as I was not crazy about the other location but do love the famous bread and pasteries. The party rooms are on the second floor of the hotel (really cheesy in my opinion). It's corporate and sterile looking spaces but my friends mom made it cute with decorations. There was plenty of breakfast and lunch options in the buffet, of course the delicious rolls were my favorite, but the rigatoni with vodka sauce was good and the fruit was fresh. Somehow that mixed in with the Italian flair of Fairfield made the bar scene work like the magic of sliced bread. For those that know that bread or cheesy bread has always been a thing at this location. (Just a side note: In my opinion buffalo wings should not have breading.) Where do I even begin? Our Easter dinner was a disaster. The 2 stars are for food only. We had 3pm reservations. We were sat and given delicious cheesy bread for the table. I had a moscow mule and my mom had red sangria. Both tasted amazing. We ordered 2 orders of calamari and one buffalo mozzarella for the table. Uh oh! Our table of 8 only had 5 plates. We asked our waiter for extra plates. He brought 1. A bus boy passed and we asked him for more. He set both plates down in front of me. I passed the extra one over to my dad. Appetizers were spot on. The calamari at $22 a pop was crunchy without being greasy or chewy. Only complaint there was there were no tentacles, only rings. Finally the appetizers were finished. My dad needed another beer and we needed different soda's because the Sprite was flat. Waiter said he would be right back with our drinks. And then we didn't see him for 30 minutes. We had to get up multiple times to ask other servers to find him. The table behind us had 3 young kids and they were waiting too. It took 40 minutes from the time the appetizer plates were cleared until we got our main course. After asking a few times, the food finally arrived. The food was hot and tasty. I don't eat lamb, but the smell coming off of that plate was mouth watering. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the Yellow Fin tuna and honestly, even after the epic fail of service, I would still go back for that meal. We had no where to be so fortunately we all had a good laugh about the terrible service. While it appears that our waiter was also working the tent, he never came back to even check on us. He did apologize once he finally showed up. My sister is a waitress and always lets her tables know that she is working indoors and outdoors and that it might be hectic. The fail lies with management mostly for giving him tables that he could not handle. $350 for 7 adults 1 child, 20% tip was not included. Still left 20% but appreciated that it was left up to us to decide. Everyone was obviously working hard. Management should plan better. read more

First time here for my girlfriend's 49th birthday celebration. We sat in the lounge near a bar and a great band that played most of the night. Folks danced near the band which was cute. Quite entertaining. Although they didn't play music that I typically listen to they sang the birthday girl Happy Birthday. Their bread contained cheese in between the slices - it was pretty good. Matter of fact, I probably enjoyed the bRead the most. Service was a bit slow at times. My dish was ok no complaints but I wouldn't order it again. My girlfriend had chicken parm but nothing to write home about. There is a Calandra bakery adjacent from the restaurant and a best western hotel attached to the restaurant. I came here for Thanksgiving dinner, kicking and screaming I might add. I'm not a fan of the network of Calandra eateries, but I was surprised. The food, which is usually so so in my experience, was actually quite good. They provided a choice of about 10 different specials. Folks ordered traditional turkey dinner, chicken dishes, and I had the scallops. All the dinners were enjoyed, and I thought the scallops were very nicely cooked.
