Came here for dinner last night and wow. My sister first heard of this place through tik tok and we decided we must try! We made indoor reservations but when we arrived the hostess told us that there was no guarantee seating for indoor dining because of the new covid law regulations. We made sure to make indoor reservations since it is winter, and it was one of the reasons we decided to drive out to jersey to have dinner. She abruptly said there was no indoor tables available. Luckily There was another lady who was kind enough to let us know that there would be a table available if we wanted to wait a few minutes so we did. Our server was Melvan who was very attentive and awesome. We got the stuffed meatballs and the tomato basil salad. We were given stuffed cheesy bread for the table which was so so tasty. The bread was soft and fresh Everything was delicious, was expecting a little more from the salad but all was really good. Entrees were amazing! I got the lobster ravioli which was amazing. Sauce was fresh and creamy! My boyfriend had the steak and it was cooked to his liking (med well) served with crispy potato slices and onions. We werent too crazy about the dessert, but I did try the tiramisu and it was great. Everything was amazing. Was the drive worth it? Totally! If you're looking for a delicious steak dinner, you absolutely must try the Bistecca di Manzo ai Porcini from Cucina Calandra. There is nothing better than perfectly grilled 10 oz New York strip steak. But what really takes this dish to the next level is the mushroom sauce, which adds a rich and earthy flavor, perfectly complementing the juicy steak. Aside from the amazing food, the atmosphere at Cucina Calandra is top-notch. The restaurant has a cozy and elegant ambiance. The service is also outstanding, with friendly staff who go out of their way to make sure your dining experience is memorable and make it feel like you guys have been friends for years! Overall, I highly recommend the Cucina Calandra as a whole. The food is fantastic (better than my grandma's even), the vibe is lovely, and the service is exceptional. What a spot. We had such a wonderful time in the bar area Friday night 8/25. The entertainment from Ted and Mark was off the chart! The food was very good. First things first, the cheesy bread here is incredible and worth coming for alone. Freshly-baked bread with cheese in the center. Our table of 4 shared the cheesy meatballs appetizer - hearty, well-seasoned meatballs that was perfect for sharing. I ordered the ravioli and it was the best ravioli I've ever had (and I've been to Italy for multiple weeks). The ravioli was filled generously with mushrooms and complemented well with a light cream sauce. We came on a Tuesday night - there's a great "Pasta Night" deal with half off of pastas and house wines. Service was prompt as well. I will definitely be back if I'm in town - I don't have a homey Italian place like this back in DC! read more

The food here was absolutely amazing I enjoyed our dinner. We sat outside in the tent although I had reservations to sit inside no biggie. I wish they would of had some type of music outside. They had heaters to keep you warm but we were still cold. Overall we went for the food and it was delicious that cheese garlic bread is to die for. The cheese wheel was definitely a nice experience we got some nice history on it from the chef himself! If you're looking for a spot for date night this is it! read more

We go to all of the locations often. My 3 year old son is an especially big fan. The homemade pizzas, soups, sandwiches, service, the character themed deserts, the family vibe and beautiful atmosphere provided is great....Lunch, dinner, a drink, dessert, or even take out you can't go wrong. Redemption dinner tonight, compliments of Team Calandra. Went this evening for dinner to give Calandras another try after a major fail at their bakery in Fairfield a few weeks back. Honestly, it has been has been a few years since I have had dinner here. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they still had the Pasta night special on Tuesday. We started with the meatballs with ricotta and provolone as an appetizer as we tore into the delicious cheesy bread that was brought to our table. The meatballs could use a bit more flavor in the meat otherwise the sauce and cheeses were good. I ordered one of the evenings' special pasta entrees comprised of smoked salmon with fettuccine, fresh tomatoes, asparagus and sautéed onions. The pink creamy sauce was not overly heavy and the combination of flavors was a nice surprise on my palate. Very, very happy with my choice this evening and also thanks to Melvyn our awesome server for sealing the deal with his recommending this dish as well as the other special pasta with the chicken and pancetta in the garlic sauce dish. My dinner guests were both also very happy with their pasta choices as well. Dessert was ordered and two of us shared the Sunday Brownie. It was truly a delicious dessert with a layer of vanilla ice cream topped with a crumbled brownie, topped with sliced strawberries and bananas covered in a chocolate ganache. I also believe there were some chopped hazelnuts in there as well. All this deliciousness served up in a cute jar. I highly recommend this dessert! I would definitely come back for dinner again and would recommend this restaurant to friends. To end the evening you still get a loaf of fresh Calandra bread to take home with you to enjoy! Thank you to Team Calandra for having faith in your business, and the food, and for trusting me to come back and giving it another try. Had their cheese stuff bread. Which was amazing. Ordered fettuccini marinara, meat balls, chicken lemon dish, a glass of wine and old fashioned. The food was decent. Nothing to rave really only the reason they got 3 stars. It definitely was not the service. Service was slow and inattentive just as other reviewers have mentioned but after a long day in NYC we stayed because we were so tired to go anywhere else. But I wouldn't waste my time or money here again. read more

You can never go wrong with Cucina Calandras. One of our favorite spots to go to! We love how well they have accommodated to COVID as well. We've been sitting outside in their tent with heaters. Cucina Calandra has all of the Italian classics (and more) at a great price and with great taste. You can't go wrong with any dish you get here. They bring out fresh, hot bread filled with cheese right when you get there and always have mouth-watering specials. I have tried most pasta dishes from here and they all have been amazing! If you haven't been, you need to go. The service is great and the food is just amazing. read more

Every time I come here I like it more and more! All of the food is delicious and the service is on par. As an appetizer they put out free bread with cheese in it- it's out of this world! They also have so many different specials for happy hour/pasta night/lunch. When I went today they had a new express lunch menu- soup or salad with entree, coffee, and desert for $12.95. How can you go wrong? Also, be sure to grab your free loaf of bread on your way out. Can this place get any better? read more

What a beautiful outdoor spot! The food was absolutely incredible. Our waiter recommended a few specials including an amazing pasta dish with shrimp and an eggplant rollatini almost as good as moms! The cheese bread is out of this world. Our waiter was very attentive and overall we enjoyed our experience. Will definitely be returning. read more

Came back from a wedding at 1130pm. Went to the bar and they said the kitchen was closed. So i ordered some food on uber eats. Nothing crazy just 2 pizzas and some tacos from taco bell, for my kids since they didn't eat that good at the wedding. That's when I was told from the security guard at the door that it would cost $100 to eat in the bar. I went to the front desk bc I felt that was ridiculous, and the front desk backed it up. After the food came I told my kids to take it up to the room to avoid any issues. Only after that did the bartenders say that they disagreed with the policy. That's all I have at this point. I will be contacting corporate tomorrow. I caution anyone who may be considering staying here, who might find themselves in the same situation to consider staying somewhere else. read more

Went to Cucina Calandra for my girlfriend's birthday and everything lived up to what I expected for her. The setting was a cozy Italian dinning room. Light conversations and relaxing ambience. My six year old would give this restaurant 5 stars! Fun spot for the family. They start off by giving you a hot loaf of bread stuffed with mozzarella and a plate of olives. They'll refill the bread too so there's almost no reason to order appetizers. Their pasta is homemade and their sauces are delicious. Fish dishes are very good although their regular salmon dish is a bit small -- the special salmon entree they had the evening I went recently was almost twice the size. They have a kid-friendly pizza chef ("Chef Henry") who the kiddies crowd around. They can choose different shapes for their pizza (eg "Mickey" pizza, Valentine pizza, etc) and he gives them a small ball of dough to play with as they're waiting for the pizzas to cook. Nice dessert selection. Service overall is hit-or-miss. I'd stress to all that this is a family place. The decor could be nice enough for a romantic dinner but there's way too much noise from the large family gatherings to recommend this as a rendezvous for two. Bonus: As you're leaving the restaurant they hand you a free loaf of Calandra's Italian Bread. Carbohydrates overload, for sure! read more

Came here for Valentine's Day 2021. Chose the outdoor seating option. We started with the fried calamari and the arancini (you could skip the arancini) and then had the gorgonzola linguine and lobster ravioli. We ended the meal with a lemon sorbet. The decor was great and the meal was fantastic but we were hoping to have the pasta finished in the cheese wheel but they only do that on Thursdays and Fridays so look out for that. We are no strangers to Cucina Calandra, from the great pastries to wines, but today SERVICE was horrible. My wife and I experienced no service, food was amazing as always but waiter never served us water but a bottle, that's fine. We ordered a bottle of Santa Margarita, waitress brought out an ice bucket and left bottle and never served us. A young man would come by our table every once and a while and asked if we needed something, I said yes, bread please so I can dip in sauce. SORRY SIR NO BREAD.... the bread we are currently making is for later dinner clients. Hello they have the largest bakery in N.J. 400 feet from the restaurant. How can you not send an employee to grab some Italian bread for your customer. Lastly the bill for 2 of us was approximately 250.00, i paid and left, later noticed that they stuck me with a mandatory 20% gratuity... 33.00 for what? They didn't even serve us or attend to our table. I will dispute the 33.00 from my bill since I don't believe the waiter deserved it in any way. I never agreed or even signed authorized that Tip. BE AWARE THEY ARE CHARGING YOU 20% weather you like it or not. $60 bottle of wine I'll cost you 12.00 tip just for them to take it to your table, they will not pour it. This is BS and unacceptable. Also be aware that tables are not spaced out correct to allow social distancing. Two men arrived just before we checked out just behind me and his chair tapped mine, I could have tapped the mans shoulder. I believe the local health department needs to pay them a visit to enforce distancing. So if you going to visit them, make sure you don't allow 20% tip and make sure your property spaced out. I had a great experience at Cucina Calandra and it's one of my new favorite spots for high quality Italian food, especially for a family big occasion. I recently celebrated a big birthday here with family and it was a great decision. I started with the fried calamari (Calamari Fritti) - made perfectly tender and fresh without being too oily or rubbery. Lemon and homemade marinara sauce comes with it and you can taste the freshness of it as well. I then had the Rigatoni alla Vodka, which was excellent. A lot of restaurants mess this dish up with too much sugar, but it was just the right flavor with the right amount of cream and tomato. Pasta was cooked well with good texture and 'al dente' as I requested. For dessert I had a glass of Frangelico and a Deep Fried Italian Zeppoli. The Zeppoli are made with homemade Ricotta and are irresistible. Service was excellent at this location, with my water always filled, a staff that's knowledgeable about the menu (I like to ask a lot of questions) and accommodating of larger parties. Ambiance and decor are traditional and the common areas and restrooms are well kept. For their reasonable prices, I'm surprised at how high end everything feels. Cucina Calandra is great for any occasion but I will certainly keep it on my short list for celebrations in our family. read more

I ordered the Zuppa di Pesce on a trip to Cucina Calandra on 12-2. The dish was amazing, loaded with seafood; scallops, shrimp, mussels, clams, calamari. The sauce was light, flavorful, with a nice kick of spice to it that was not overwhelming. I could not finish the meal due to its large portion, and because you cannot pass up on the homemade bread they serve. My girlfriend had Orecchiette Calabresi which she could not stop raving about. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and is very clean. The staff is very attentive, friendly, and valuable to the success of the restaurant. If you have not visited Cucina Calandra yet, I highly recommend that you do. read more

It just would have elevated the experience to have someone confidently say, "This is what we do exceptionally well, and here's what I recommend." Overall, though, we had exactly the kind of evening we needed. We brought a bottle of wine, relaxed, talked, enjoyed the atmosphere and genuinely felt like we had gotten away for a while. Started with a few apps and a chicken parm for the table to share. The Carciofi alla Giudia, the classic Jewish-Roman deep fried artichokes were beautifully presented. A good bit firmer than you'd find in Rome but were still well enjoyed and recommended. Tonno salad with fresh seared tuna was plentiful and packed with flavor. Speaking of flavor the porchetta sandwich was rich and delicious. Really this is closer to a bbq pork than authentic porchetta but still recommended. The star of the show is the chicken parm and eggplant parm. The eggplant was delicate, thinly sliced melt in your mouth. Luckily you get a huge plate. Chicken parm is also excellent and HUGE. While there is $10 plate fee if sharing a main they are fine if you order several items and share all. Very generous with their shaved Parmesan if requested. Prices on the higher side but not all that bad considering the quantity. This feels more like the type of place you come to with a large group than as a couple. Unless of course you are very hungry. Service is excellent.

Let me start by saying that this is not a review of the food, which we never had the chance to try because the service was so bad. We called earlier in the day and made a 7:15 reservation for 2. We arrived around 7:05. There was a long line waiting to talk with the hostess and things generally looked chaotic. The 2 hostesses (Tweedledee and Tweedledum) were clearly disorganized. After 15 minutes on line, we finally got to the front and gave Tweedledee our name and reservation time. She couldn't find it. She had papers and post-it notes everywhere, but blamed us. She said that "we must have called the wrong restaurant". I assured her that we called the right place, but she didn't seem to care. Since we were already there, I told her that we could just wait for the next table. She said that a couple was paying their bill, so a table would be ready in a few minutes. So, we took a seat right in front of her and waited. About 10 minutes later another couple walks in saying they didn't have a reservation. No problem, "a couple just got up, you can have that table". I went to "Tweedledee and said, "excuse me, but I think you just gave our table away". She looked at me like she had no recollection of our conversation and we were speaking for the first time. She asked for my name again and started shuffling through her papers. At this point hostess 2 (Tweedledum) walks in. We explain our story up to this point. Tweedledee explains to Tweedledum that we must have called the wrong place and that she gave our table away because she thought we "went to the lounge" (we were sitting 10 feet from her the whole time). Tweedledum says there is an open table in the lounge. We follow Tweedledee into the lounge and the table isn't ready. She says wait here until it's cleared. We stood for 10 minutes in the middle of the restaurant until someone finally cleared the table. Tweedledee brings us to the table, at which point the waitress starts yelling at her that "she is too busy and refuses to take any more tables". So, we get up and walk back out to the lobby. Tweedledum yells at Tweedledee that it isn't up to the waitress. Another couple was also waiting for a table and there was some additional confusion over who would get seated next. Tweedledum takes us back to the table that we just got up from and tells us "I'll be back to ..." (I didn't catch the end) as she was walking away. By the way, 45 minutes into this fiasco we didn't get one apology. We waited about 10 minutes for water, bread, drink orders, something...all we got was a busboy who walked by and seemed to be surprised we were there. We just got up and left. read more

I'm giving this restaurant an average rating because we had two completely different experiences on the two nights we ate here. One good, one bad. The first night deserves an excellent. We had an exceptional meal and experience. The food was delicious, the server, congenial, efficient, and attentive. We started with nice salads of mixed lettuces, then shared an order of their fried calamari which was absolutely wonderful - fried perfectly, accompanied by a tasty marinara sauce. For dinner, my date ordered the lobster ravioli from the specials menu. It was very good. I ordered the pork chop, also from the specials menu. The chop was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful, and the accompanying sauce was delicious. Enjoyed the meal so much we came back on Sunday. This time around the service was mediocre, at best. The server came over fairly quickly, checked on our drink and food order. We had salads again; these were iceberg lettuce with chunks of tomato along with halved grape tomatoes, julienned carrots, and cucumber. A bit lackluster compared to the previous salad but adequate. Our dinners arrived in a timely manner and the server checked in to see how things were at that time. We told her we had just started; I hadn't even had a chance to taste my meal yet. Then she disappeared not to be seen again until she came over with the dessert tray. No water glasses filled. No checking in at any time. This I time my partner had the gnocchi and it was okay. The linguini with white clam sauce that I ordered was a great disappointment; a bowl of bland broth with pasta clumped together (as if the strands weren't stirred enough when first added to the pot). For a $25+ meal I expected much better. I would have preferred the server to have come back sooner so I could have ordered something else. However, by the time she had arrived back at our table my partner was finished eating. The person who took our plates was told about the problem, but we never saw him again and it is doubtful that he conveyed our displeasure to our server. After she brought the bill, I said we would not pay full price for such a meal. The manager came over and offered coffee and/or dessert but we needed to leave so accepted his offer to comp the meal. My boyfriend and I always have the pleasure of dining at Cucina Calandra. We go at least three times a month. The main reason is that it truly feels like an Italian restaurant with authentic cuisine and an inviting ambiance. The other day we went with some friends from Pennsylvania, and they absolutely loved it! We have been so many times and have tried different things. However, the exquisite flavors of two dishes truly stole the show, particularly the Pollo Parmigiana and Fettuccine allo Scoglio, which quickly became my favorite choices. I'd say that Pollo Parmigiana is a classic Italian dish that Cucina Calandra truly perfected. The tender chicken cutlet, breaded and topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese, is a mouthwatering delight. The chicken is cooked to perfection, remaining juicy and flavorful beneath the delightful crust. This dish always leaves me craving more! Another dish that leaves a lasting impression is the Fettuccine allo Scoglio. The fettuccine pasta is perfect, offering a delicate bite that perfectly absorbed the flavors of the seafood. Also, the sweetness of the seafood beautifully complements the aromatic herbs. It is a seafood lover's dream come true! I'm kind of picky when it comes to eating out so when my friends suggested going to Calandra's a few years back I gave it a hesitated okay. I took their word for it and they were complete right. I immediately loved the restaurant feel. The tables were spaced with enough distance that we were given our privacy to catch up on life. The menu had plenty of items, something for everyone. I ordered the chicken parm dinner. One word- delicious! I order it all over. Calandra's prepares it perfectly! Writing this is making me want it right now!! But there is more than the main course. The varieties of wines are endless. The appetizers-you can't go wrong. Honestly, I don't usually get an appetizer- ( hubby does) because between the magnificent bread, salad and entree I always want to have room left for dessert! By the way- the greatest bread ever- filled with a mozzarella center!! Go now!! I'm writing this and so hungry from,thinking about the deliciousness. As for dessert there is a sleek menu of choices. I had a great time there with my partner last Friday. We got there and we requested to sit outside, which they were more than happy to do for us. It was a great night out and the table was adorable. It had a beautiful pattern on it. Our waiter came out to greet us fairly quickly and offered us drinks. We declined the wine but the selection was nice. While we were going over the menu we debated ordering an appetizer, but it was unnecessary as not long after the waiter left she came back and brought us a loaf of bread filled with cheese and sprinkled with garlic. It was amazing. I could make a whole meal out of just that bread. I ordered the chicken parm, because I have to order it whenever I go someplace new and they have it on the menu. It came over linguine, which I'm not used to but it was certainly good. The chicken was a bit crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, just how I like it. The sauce was great and very rich. We decided to skip dessert because we were so full but I saw one of the waiters bring a dessert by for another table and it looked so good. I've been coming to Cucina since I was a little girl and still come here regularly & throughout the years Cucina has maintained a consistent level of quality cuisine, service and ambiance. It truly is a family place through and through. The cheesy bread to start is the true pièce de résistance- I loved the Insalata Verde, with the apple and cranberries it was a very refreshing salad. Although I've tried so many entrees and specials throughout the years I'd have to say one of my favorites would be the Veal Milanese. It's a classic dish done well by the chef's at Cucina and when I close my eyes I can't tell the difference between this Veal dish and my Nonna's. The balsamic glaze is to die for. Now if you have room after a meal like that, the dessert menu is out of this world. I have no recommendations for you, try everything, you won't be disappointed, I promise! The service is always fantastic, management runs a smooth ship, and the Calandras do what they do best and it shows here at Cucina Calandra. I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. The food was amazing and the staff attentive but not overbearing. The food was fresh and flavorful with very hefty portions. As soon as you are seated and comfortable they bring water and warm "Calandra" cheese bread........ We shared the burrata appetizer which was very creamy and delicious and the stuffed artichoke, thought my Sicilian grandmother made it!!. I had cortecce alla contadina. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the pancetta was crispy and the caramelized onions paired perfectly with the broccoli and sausage....so good!! My friend had grilled red snapper topped with a tomato bruschetta and said was over the top. We finished our meal with the creme brûlée and a cannoli (my personal favorite), out of this world! Dine out quite a bit and very rarely, if at all, does the Chef stop by your table to make sure you are happy with your meal, very nice touch!!! All I can is WOW! The food, the service, and the atmosphere are all amazing and worth coming back for each and every time. This is one of my favorite restaurants to dine at and I like to try and go there at least once a week! That's a lot right?!? But it's just so worth it! The kids enjoy making pizza and it makes the experience so fun for them as well. I am loving the new renovations made to the lounge, it just shows how Calandras truly wants to give their customers the best dining experience. Not only is the food probably the best food I've had but the portions are big and they never disappoint. I know some reviews say it can be pricey but the quality and quantity of food you are getting speaks volumes!!! No one I have ever brought there has ever left unsatisfied and I try to always bring someone new with me to experience the deliciousness I get to every time. Cucina Calandra is always a great experience! The staff is polite, helpful and great at what they do. The place is fancy and clean but best of all comforting. It is kid friendly (character shaped pizzas) and just an overall delight...and that's just the atmosphere! The food is just as good. My wife got her favorite pasta in vodka sauce and I snuck a bite of this tasty dish but saved room for the mouthwatering Zuppi De Pesce which was out of this world. Each piece of fish was cooked to perfection and there are no shortcomings like other places that load you up with spaghetti and 1 piece of each fish extra chewy and over cooked. We have been back and tried other dishes but like everyone we have our favorites...which so far has been each of the dishes we tried lol. You can't go wrong with any choice. What else can you say if you want Italian food AND a place to entertain your kids? I LOVE going here because the food is awesome (first thing you get is this HUGE ball of garlic bread with gooey mozzarella cheese stuffed inside!!) AND my littlest kids get to watch their Pizza chef make pizza and to four little kids, nothing can be more fun! We had excellent an excellent house wine that apparently is made by the same people that own the restaurant and because it just looked so good, I decided on a flat bread with just sauce, fresh basil and slabs of fresh mozzarella cheese. My husband had the lobster ravioli that he found to be excellent with real pieces of lobster meat in it (you don't usually get that!) and the whole dinner experience was made finer because the kids were so busy with Chef Henry that my husband and I actually ate dinner quietly together. So I had the great pleasure to be staying at the Bestwestern on Rt. 46 in Fairfield for some business and luckily for me the very delicious Cucina Calandra was attached restaurant! I first can't complement how delicious their Pizza was, so well cooked and evenly distributed amount of ingredients and toppings to blend these flavors instead of like other Pizza Restaurant places that just lay on the cheese! Being at the hotel for a 2 day stay I also had to pleasure of trying their very fresh calamari which had be shocked because I usually eat calamari and move on, but the flavors that I tasted in Cucina Calandra's Calamari was prime example of Italian inspired Calamari Fritte! I will recommend anyone in the area or especially if your staying in the Bestwestern that Cucina Calandra is attached to it's a must eat spot in this area so look no further! I love Cucina Calandra because of their deep, rich love and passion of their Italian heritage! Once you step i , you smell the aroma of freshly baked bread, sweet cannoli's being filled and hot steamy cappuccino's ready to be served- it is as if I am right back in my homeland! My family is from the southern region of Italy, a very small farming town outside of Napoli! Embracing and being in touch with my Italian heritage is molto importante to me as well as carrying the Italian traditions through generations! I write this for the empathy I have for the waiters and waitresses. My food did not come out like I had asked for it and the server told apparently the manager wearing a chef coat who seemed not to care and passed a comment as he was walking by that was not to favorable to any person working there. What a turn off that a manager feels that way about his employees. Obviously as we are there to enjoy ourselves, have no need to hear his personal issues. Something has gone wrong in the past 6 months plus. The place is aesthetically nicer looking but the climate inside is very unsettling. The waiters and waitresses must need the job to stay there to be spoken to in an obvious "tone" and apparently they must have had some kitchen changes. It may look like your average neighborhood restaurant, Cucina Calandra is anything but.. When we wandered in my family and I were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and incredible aroma of baking pizza. The restaurant was filling up quickly (it was almost 7:00 pm) but we managed to snag a table. We ordered the broccoli de rabe, pizza margarita, and fig and prosciutto flat bread. The broccoli de rabe was full of cheesy goodness, and the garlic was robust but not overpowering. When our pizzas arrived, our expectations continued to be exceeded. The crust was crisp, flavorful, and chewy. The toppings worked together beautifully. Pollo milanese is my absolute favorite! So simple but delicious. Have it, you won't be sorry! Cucina remodeled their outdoor dining area. It's beautiful! With spring and the nice weather heading our way, I can't wait. There are plenty of local restaurants that my family could dine at, yet we still make the 45 minute drive to Calandra's restaurants on a regular basis! This was my first outdoor dining experience since the start of the pandemic and my first time dining at Cucina Calandra. I was hesitant about going out, but I'm so glad I gave it a try. I was incredibly impressed with the lengths gone to make patrons and employees feel safe. The food was absolutely to die for and the service was top-notch. My waitress Nancy was so sweet and attentive. The calamari was delicious and not at all chewy. I ordered the salmon with the sweet potato and asparagus and everything was very fresh. Wonderful restaurant and great service. I had made reservations for my mother's 80th birthday and had contacted Calandra's bakery to purchase a cake to be brought out for dessert. Long story short, I had ordered the cake from the Calandra's bakery in Caldwell (not the one next door to the restaurant). Maria, the Manager of the restaurant was super sweet and had someone drive to the bakery and pick up the cake for me. Exceeded my expectations! The food was phenomenal, of course! Pasta was delicious and the vodka sauce was amazing. Chicken parmagiana was tender and moist! All 8 of us enjoyed our meals with not 1 complaint. I've eaten at Cucina Calandra many times and each time is better than the last! The food is fantastic and there is a great wine selection. They have one of the best charcuterie boards around and we always order the cold antipasto. There is a large food selection so there is something for everyone. From the pasta dishes, to the seafood dishes, to the pizza, all the food is fresh and delicious. You also can't go there without getting dessert. They have the best Italian pastries around and the zeppolis are a must. Any time I've been to Cucina Calandra, the service has been top notch. I have been to Cucina Calandras as well as their other locations many times...and each time has Always been a Wonderful and Pleasant experience. They treat you like Family and the service is Excellent! The food and ingredients are Top Quality! Some of my favorite dishes as well as my sons are the spaghetti and meatballs, golden beet salad, pasta fagioli soup, orecchiette with broccoli rabe & sausage and of course the kids pizza. I have had the panini's to the eggplant rolatini and everything is just Delicious! And that's not all.... Their Bakery is utterly Amazing! This is my go to place for meeting friends for dinner and drinks after work! Our favorite night to meet is Tuesday because they offer half priced bottles of wine and pasta! Which works out great for me because their Gnocchi Sorrentino is my favorite dish; the sauce is delicious and pasta is always made to perfection!!! However, usually when the three of us order that much food at a NJ Italian restaurant, we have leftovers. Here, the portions were smaller, with nothing left to take home. Pricing - The menu prices were run of the mill for north Jersey. However, there were arbitrary price hikes of about $.70 added to all items when the bill came. Not a huge deal, but if they are squeezing every table for almost an extra dollar per item, that's quite a bit of unidentified charges they're taking in without the customer's knowledge.

The service is friendly... most of the time! Alex, the owner, is always welcoming and truly cares about her customers. The atmosphere for the USA World Cup win was incredible--a packed house, a DJ, and an electric crowd you just won't find at most bars. Get there Monday for USA vs. Belgium!

My burger was pretty tasty and a decent portion for the price. The waitresses were also very nice. They changed the channel on the TV near us so we could watch the game that we wanted. So the menu is not big and the place is sort of a hole in the wall, but if you're looking for what they have to offer, it's a decent place to have a meal.

It absolutely blew me away. We're talking flavor combinations like Saddle River Inn by Chef Jamie Knott and Bill Van Pelt's ecclectic James on Main. This is rarified air. I came on a Tuesday right when they opened for dinner at 5:30. I was the only person in the establishment for a bit, but then it filled up by the time I left. I had the privilege of being waited on by Beth, the bartender, who's been bartending in the building since 2 different establishments ago. She was fantastic and a consummate professional from my walk in to my walk out. I was frequently greeted by manager Alex. We spoke about the best restaurants in north Jersey. Agreed on gems like Prime 94 in Fairfield and River Palm Terrace in Edgewater. He's been in the business and knows what he's talking about. I got the price fixe menu for $69. It included first - some bread appetizer (not pictured) and then a shrimp and (eggplant?) or zucchini appetizer. I also got some free bread with olive oil. Next up was the egg yolk raviolo. And it's exactly how you heard. The star of the night. I love eggs so I'm a little extra biased. I asked Beth if I could also try the butternut squash agnolotti and she hooked it up complimentary. For the main course, I paid the $10 upcharge for the lobster and it came in this sweet sauce. Succulent is the word I'd use. Lots of lobster. I am happy with the choice I made. Now I only eat one meal a day so my only complaint at this point was that I was still hungry. But most people would be well and full by this point. So I asked for the menus again. I ordered scallops. Came with some fried leeks. Truly out of this world flavors in every dish. The price fixe comes with 1 dessert. I wanted to try 2 so I got 1 à la carte. A pistachio crème brûlée tart and a pistachio hazelnut dessert. I recommend the former. I also had 2 beers. I'm telling you I can eat. But the bill came out to a very pleasant surprise of $160. I had to do a double take to see if my girl Beth hooked me up anywhere on there but outside of the complimentary small portion of the agnolotti, nope, that was the price. I made sure to hook her up though! 5 words for the 5-star restaurant. Can't wait to come back.
