Had the unfortunate pleasure of dining at this establishment. Waiter service was average, food average,and person removing finished items and water was an absolute nightmare. Like a bull in a china shop she slammed and dropped silverware and items with total disregard. She did this to every table she attended to, In a feeble attempt to avoid her wrath I gathered used items at corner of table. She still managed to drop items. We hosted my daughter-in-law's baby shower at this wonderful restaurant this past Saturday. First, Cucina Carini is beautiful and has lots of natural light. Anthony let us use the entire large dining area so all 36 of us had plenty of room for a game table, beverage table and for the mom-to-be to open gifts. They have a bar area (no liquor though) which was the perfect area for our cake/dessert trays and for the shower favors. There was no cake cutting fee. The food was great. We've eaten both lunch and dinner here before but I was surprised at how quickly we all were served. Our servers were very kind and efficient, asking several times if anyone needed anything. There was nothing they wouldn't do for us. The evening before, they let us bring our boxes of decorations and even a large wicker peacock chair and the cake. They opened the doors to us that day at 9:30 AM for a noon shower so we had plenty of time to decorate. I wanted to hang a large 7'x5' banner right where they had hung a large and beautifully framed art piece so I asked if it could be removed during the shower. The reply? "Sure! We'll put it in the closet." My deepest appreciation to Paula, Anthony, the cooks and the kind server who worked the shower that day who all were on their game and truly made our shower fantastic. read more

I've been at this restaurant several times and thought this would be a good place to go for a Father's Day dinner. As always, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. They were also accomodating to my grandkids' picky tastes. The only reason for four stars instead of five is that the noise level when the place is full is overpowering. This mom and pop restaurant was soooo delicious! I went here for a Valentine's Day dinner! We started with the bruschetta and between the freshly made bread and the app itself, we were begging for more! I had the grilled salmon and my date had the scampi antalise. Both of us agreed the food was super fresh, mouthwatering and cooked to perfection! We finished off with the peanut butter bomb and the tiramisu and I must say I was wow'd!! We love to support family owned byobs. But I'm sorry I cannot give this establishment the second try. I know you probably have your regulars that come in. And maybe they don't have taste buds but we do. The decor is lovely but very disappointed in the chicken dishes. I mean no flavor on the marsala. And my chicken pieces were random scraps strangely shaped? The spaghetti was overcooked and gummy which told me it's sat in water. I understand you had a baby shower leaving before us but consistency. I truly feel like they gave us the bread the baby shower did not eat because our bread was hard . And the waitress I don't know got a weird vibe from her. When my husband says thank you say you're welcome . You don't need to be rude. SO DISAPPOINTING!! We had waited a long time wanting to come here and finally had the chance tonight -- NEVER AGAIN!!! While we were waiting for our food to arrive, a server came and collected the little flower and vase from our table -- I guess they don't want diners to enjoy their ambiance after 7:30pm! She even reached over us to pick it up!! Then, I had ordered a shrimp dish and EVERY shrimp had a huge string of poo still attached! It looked like they tried to clean them, but didn't care enough to actually do a good job! Both our dishes came with pasta -- the clam dish had literally 4 fork-fulls of pasta -- we took the bowl of broth home and will be making our own pasta with the sauce. We were charged $5 for a small bread plate of lettuce with 1 cucumber slice and 1/2 a cherry tomato (not a whole one), which they called a "house salad". Our server didn't even pay us any mind -- she was too busy talking to the people at the table next to us, whom she brought free dessert, even after we let her know about the shrimp. We were so disappointed, we just paid and left -- too infuriated to even speak to a manager. So- for over $50 -- we were disgusted and the portion size was lousy! Went to Cucina Carini a few days ago with my girlfriend for dinner upon recommendation from my cousin. I wish I could give 3.5 stars, but it's not possible so 3 stars will have to do. It has a spacious parking lot and the decor is very upscale. There is even a small fountain out back for a romantic night. The serving staff was very friendly and took our orders promptly. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Supreme and my girlfriend ordered a 10" Scampi Primavera Pizza. Now, I assume that a pizza takes a long time to cook up because our wait time was a little over an hour (We ordered around 7:30pm and got our food at 8:40pm). The staff came by for refills and bread, but never mentioned the wait time at all. My dish was good, but nothing i'd go out of the way for. It was exactly how I envisioned a grilled chicken supreme, so I can't complain. However, I could complain that I didn't order my favorite meal of Chicken Parmesan to try something new, but it's in the past! I instantly knew that my girlfriend did not like her pizza since as soon as she picked up a slice, half the cheese slid off. She ate two slices (about how much she normally eats) and asked for a box. She gave me the box on the ride home since she didn't actually want it (either did I). However, I have been eating the pizza leftovers for lunch the last two days and I really liked it a lot. Maybe it's just better when the ingredients have a chance to settle, but that wouldn't make it fresh if it was ordered that way. Anyway, neither of us were thrilled with our orders after the long wait and with a $5 coupon and $6 tip, the total was a hefty $36. Came with a friend on Thursday 6/22 no one paid attention to us after we were seated. When someone finally came over to us and handed us a menu it was 3:30 and we wanted to get lunch. After a few min she came back and brought us a regular dinner menu even though the time was 3:35. We did not understand why the menu was changed and why no one offered us some water. After about 10 min a waitress came over and n a rude way asked us what we wanted to order. When I asked for a cup of coffee in a paper cup she was very rude and said that the don't have to go cups. Then she told us that if we are not happy we are free to leave and we did exactly that. The reason we came to this restaurant to begin with, was to find a place for dinner with friends in a couple of days. Very disappointing to get that kind of service. First time going. Ambience was nice. The table we were at was set on the edge of a small wall with doors so felt kind of "off" or out of place and the table was wobbly. There were two servers on and it was busy for a Tuesday night. Kudos to them. That being said service was a bit off. We never got any bread, which from reviews, I was looking forward to but at the same point glad cause I didn't want to fill up on bread. We were never offered or asked about beverages so we just drank the water. We ordered clams casino to start. They were delicious. I ordered chicken parm and it was fantastic. It wasn't a thick piece of chicken but pounded thin and very tender. Just how I like it. It wasn't swimming in sauce like some places do and it was the perfect portion size. My wife got I think chicken supreme which was also very good. She had a salad and I had sausage and cabbage soup which were both good. Overall a very good meal and will definitely be back. read more

4 of us, plus a child who only drank lemonade, ate here yesterday around 3pm. The restaurant was not busy at that time. The staff was friendly but the food was not very good. A previous visit was better. We had 2 eggplant parms. The eggplant was cooked well but the pasta was overcooked and the sauce was lacking both salt and spice and was rather plain and tasteless. The linguini with clams was also bland. The crab ravioli was not very good either in taste or appearance. That was mine. I had 2 of the other people try it and they didn't get past a bite each. I didn't bother to pack the "leftovers", because I had no desire to eat any more of it. The only thing that really tasted good was the soup and the bread. The child wanted to take his lemonade with him but they couldn't supply a take out cup with a lid that fit the available cup, the lid was the wrong size . We came here on a Thursday night, and though it was empty around 5:30, it was hopping by 6:30. The service was friendly, and the warm bread they bring to the table is delish. I love when a restaurant has olive oil and all the fixings for dipping (salt, pepper, Parmesan, red pepper flakes) on the table. We shared the mussels in white, stuffed long hots, and buffalo chicken pizza. The mussels were a generous portion and came in a yummy sauce. Again, that bread was clutch for soaking up all the yumminess. The stuffed long hots were disappointing. You get 3 peppers, and they're only stuffed in the top portion. The bites with filling were good, but most of the pepper was without. The buffalo chicken pizza was tasty. Thin crust, minimal topping. I thought the fresh blue cheese on top was a nice touch. I was here for an event and I ordered a salmon which had a creamy sauce on it. Salmon was fishy and overcooked. I also had only the original fill of my cup of water and could not find anyone to refill it the entire time... Three options for entrees at this event: salmon, chicken, or pasta... I had ordered the white pizza, cheese raviolis and pasta with a blush sauce to go. Sunday night and it is way understaffed. The burglar/fire alarm went off as I sat there waiting for our order. Nice. No one working there seemed to want to do anything to stop the noise so maybe this happens all the time???! 3 fully equipped fireman just walked in axes and all!! Exciting!!! People already seated are walking out as the noise is ear piercing!! I hope this my last fire drill review!!. The place is very confused and unorganized. One poor guy at the front is busting his ass and some guy who looks like the owner is walking around in circles being no help to anyone. Phone ringing off the hook, no one picking up. I hope this is worth the wait. White pizza was blah...pizza crust and mozarella..period. I won;t be doing that again. I checked the Yelp reviews before going here, and I wasn't sure what to expect. But a flyer in the mail mentioned a Mon-Wed pizza special for $8.95, so I figured there wasn't much to lose. When we inquired about the pizza special, we were (rudely) told that the special is only for take-out. Mind you, nowhere on the flyer does it say this. But whatever, we were already there, so we decided to just get a 10" pizza and see what it was like. It took FOREVER to come out, but it was WELL WORTH the wait. Best pizza I've had in a long time, easily the best pizza in South Jersey!! Who knew that this little place that I've driven by 1000x before would have the best pizza around? Enjoyed a great meal at this hidden gem! Why go to a corporate restaurant chain when you can support your local family restaurants and have a delicious meal?!? Appetizers: calamari was tender and tasty, bruschetta was flavorful and served on fresh crisp bread, and the long hots were nice and spicy! Entree: Trio di Mare had big shrimp and scallops cooked perfectly and crab meet throughout the dish in a rich buttery sauce. Dessert: Chocolate Mousse cake was a great treat to end the meal with a nice glass of wine (BYOB). Very cute restaurant! Decor is nice, it's quite spacious yet intimate. Each table feels like it's in its own section, although there are rooms that are sectioned off, probably to accommodate private parties. We were a table of 11. Yes, a big group, every restaurant's nightmare. When dining in groups larger than 4, I always expect service to be sub par, just because it's more difficult to cater to! But our service was spot on. Appetizers and entrees were all brought out accordingly. Nothing was cold! And the dining table was never empty, nor overcrowded! The food was very comforting. All of your favorites, but better than you can make yourself at home. Penne Vodka was on point. I think that was everyone's favorite dish. But I'm a sucker for meatballs, and Cucina Carini had hands-down one of my favorites! Service was impeccable. Especially for such a large, demanding group, the waitstaff was sure to be attentive. Everything was pretty good here. The portion sizes are just right and the service was on point. A few things that weren't okay thought were: 1. Calamari batter was too salty. Made our mouths dry. 2. The prices in the menu aren't what I was charged. I ordered the chicken parm. In the menu it stated 15.95. On the check it was priced as 17.95. So a $2 difference. I was also charged a $2 up charge for a side Caesar salad? Why? Other than those two problems everything was good. The dessert was definitely on point so check that out if you go. read more

This is our local go to place. When the weather is bad and we don't want to travel far we go here. Cucina Carini is a b.y.o.b. establishment. Love the calamari, pasta dishes and especially the eggplant rollatini. The food and service is consistently top shelf! In the summer they have a beautiful outdoor garden. We had our first visit to Cucina Carini Sunday evening, and I was pleasantly surprised! I was initially put off by the relatively short menu offerings (compared to many of the local BYOB Italian restaurants). However, when you offer quality, and do what you do very well, you don't have to overboard selection. The bruschetta was excellent, lightly toasted, perfectly thin bread with a perfect balance of oil, tomatoes, garlic & basil. Entrees were Cavatelli Carini & Chicken Parmigiana both were Very good & prepared to perfection. Do yourself a favor & check out this gem, I think I found a new favorite BYOB!
