Excellent selection of local seafood. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I took a pound of shrimp to-go, as well as a fish sandwich and the Cajun chips. The fish sandwich was easily the best I've had. Simple but delicious. Cajun chips were seasoned very well - nice spice but not overbearing. Cooked up the shrimp for dinner, and it too, was fantastic. Happy to have them so close to home. Cuda is an interesting little seafood butchery, shop and restaurant. They ply their trade providing local fine dining restaurants with special cuts and preparations of quality seafood but also have a primarily takeout seafood restaurant. You can dine there but seating is very limited and the majority of their restaurant business appears to be take out. What's unique is that customers chose their dinners from the fresh seafood case, it's then cooked to order and packaged while you wait. If you are dining in you follow the same process but then take a table and wait for your pager to buzz. There are sides but they are few but inventive. The selection of seafood is limited as well but the quality is high. Oysters are a highlight and there are representatives from several locations. We dined in and feasted on stone crab claws and flounder with sticky rice and Caribbean chips as sides. They have several local beers and a selection of wine by the bottle, again leaning more toward takeout then dining in. Staff was very helpful and efficient. Plenty of parking and, thank the almighty, no background music. Overall a pleasant experience albeit not a normal dinner out. We give it four clams on the coveted Five Quahog Rating Scale. read more

Loved this sweet little unassuming shop and so glad we ventured out of Charleston and ate here for dinner on way back from Folly Beach. The space is modern and clean, half seafood shop and half restaurant (with a killer wine and beer vault). They have great non-alcoholic selections, pre-made spreads and sauces in case you want to take a fun picnic for the beach. I love the menu selection and the fact you can customize so much of the fresh seafood to your liking. We got fresh mussels in white wine sauce (not overly salted thankfully), house made bay vinegar chips, coconut rice bowl with seared scallops (or choice of protein), salmon crudo with pickled jalapeño, roe and watermelon radishes. Smoked fish with buttery crackers and fresh crudite, baked oysters and topped off with unique kombucha and lemon Pellegrino. The staff is friendly and they seem to love what they do. Def a save for if you're in the Charleston area and having a beach day at Folly. Enjoy! read more

Loved it. Don't let the low key vibe fool you. Everything we ordered was very good and fresh. Had rice bowl with shrimp, ceviche, smoked fish spread (better than The Ordinary IMHO), and a good selection of raw shucked oysters. Also good wine and beer. It was all good. Looking forward to going back to try the fried fish. Even bought some uncooked crab cakes to bring home for dinner tonight and already making plans for the beautiful tuna belly they had out. read more

Very lucky we found this great place for a quick snack of oysters, smoked seafood, coleslaw (with cumin - what a smart idea), and banana pudding (all excellent)! Staff was super friendly and food was delish. Worth a stop for sure! This is the fish market I have been dreaming about! Oysters, crudo, ceviche, and so much more...seating is limited so don't be a snob and turn your nose up to hanging at a whiskey barrel or picnic bench outside. The food is incredible! Local, sustainable , and all butchered correctly and in house. If not eating there then grab fish seafood to go. They also have an incredible array of smoked fish and fish dips. We went based on the great Yelp reviews but were incredibly disappointed. The food was good, not great. Portions were incredibly small for the cost (over $50 for two for lunch), and we left hungry. The decor inside was cute but not very welcoming in terms of indoor seating, and not very accessible. Seems like more of a grab and go or takeout place, maybe busier for dinner? We went around noon and there was only one other customer in the store. read more

Amazing fresh seafood!! If I lived nearby I'd come here every day! I got the coconut rice bowl with tuna and it was some of the best/freshest tuna I've ever had. My husband got the sandy and his fish was so fresh and buttery, it was delicious! Highly recommend this place! A great addition to James Island. Located in the previous Huff's facility, CUDACO provides a much needed and excellent seafood market place on Folly Road. The fishmonger is knowledgeable, polite, helpful, and enthusiastic about opening this new facility in our area. It is completely updated, clean, and filled with a great selection of local seafood and selected fresh seafood from other locations. Pricing is competitive with local seafood establishments. This place is great. I bought a fresh grouper filet and they fried it for me inside, too. It was delicious. Also tried this shrimp bisque and the peel and eat shrimp. Everything was great. The place is very clean and everything on display looks great. I think the prices are pretty good for the high quality of seafood. I really like this place a lot. It was the first place I went to after moving to Charleston last week. I'll definitely be back and I highly recommend. The staff who I met were nice as well. Stopped here for a light lunch. We both had the Coconut Sticky Rice Bowl, one with raw tuna and the other with shrimp. Both were awesome! Can't wait to go back and try some of the grab and go items they have stocked in a big cooler/freezer (soups, pickled seafood, smoked items, etc). All of the fresh seafood and fish at the market area look beautiful and the place was sooo clean I'm pretty sure we could have eaten off of the floor! Well this was our first and last visit to CudaCo. Nothing special about the interior just basic chairs and tables. Food was tasty however portions are child sized at best. My sandwich was 3" across with no fries or chips or pickle just nothing but the sandwich. It was $18!!!!!!!! My wife had the seafood chowder which was good but again child size. Maybe 3-4oz paper cup. $16!!!!!! No bread nothing but the tiny cup of soup!!! Insane. 2 Goya ginger beer sodas $7!!!! Our total was a incredible $53.70 for a little sandwich a small cup of soup and 2 sodas!!!!! Outrageous! We had to go to another restaurant and get a real meal!! Never going back what a mind blowing nightmare for any sort of possible value. read more

Cuda Co. is absolutely hidden amongst the traffic and hassle of the James Island Folly/30 intersection, but the goods to be had here are INCREDIBLE. I'll start by saying that ALL of the seafood is fresh as can be and the oysters are incredibly delicious and shucked professionally. The coconut rice bowl with scallop is fantastic, the tuna crudo with trout roe was so flavorful, great small portion for an appetizer.
