This has been at the top of my list and it did not disappoint!! When you walk inside, the fresh variety of seafood is on display. The staff makes fantastic recommendations. You order your selection at the counter - everything from po boys to platters to sticky coconut rice bowls. A buzzer is provided and you can enjoy a table inside or at a picnic table outside along the water. I tried a sticky coconut rice bowl with tuna and a fried shrimp po boy. Both were tremendous in flavor. Also ordered a 1/2 dozen oysters which was paired with pickled red onion - what an elevated flavor!

We went to CudaCo in Folly Beach for Mother's Day and were delighted that they still have soft shell crab! Not as a sandwich though (which was buzzing on social media), but in a fried seafood basket with calamari and shrimp, all of which were so crispy with just the right amount of batter, and absolutely delicious! We understood why the soft shell crab is served in a fried basket or platter because the crab was on the smaller side, which is probably also why they no longer serve soft shell crab sandwiches, since those require a bigger crab. Service was quick and efficient, and we appreciated that the front staff was patient with answering every customer's questions and taking down their orders. As for the interior and vibe, they have seating both outside and inside. We opted to sit inside since it was going to get sunny, and the indoor noise level was doable. Finally, they do not just serve food, they also sell a plethora of seafood right off the ice. Just be warned that their shrimp may not be fresh, as you can tell by the color of the tails. Black tails are a sign that the shrimp is not right off the water, though the quality is still fine, I'm sure. They also offer a variety of other items like soups to-go, beer and wine, and of course merch. Overall, great restaurant and highly recommend!

There is truly not a bad thing on the menu! The staff at CudaCo are always so friendly and knowledgeable about their items, so you will be sure to leave happy. I always believed this was a sit-down restaurant until I went to try it with some visiting friends. I was pleasantly surprised that you order at the register and can then take a seat wherever you like, indoors or outside, and they will bring your food to you. I also appreciated the free parking lot. Even though there is limited indoor seating, there are plenty of picnic tables outside to sit at on a warm Charleston day. You can also easily ask for your food to go. Even better, you can enjoy a meal and still bring home more seafood to cook at a later date while supporting a local small business. I mean, what is better than that? They have a great local beer and wine selection that you can purchase and take home. More importantly, their food is out-of-this-world fresh. This tiny spot that is easy to miss on James Island has some of the best seafood out there. My go-to is their coconut rice poke bowl with salmon. I would come here every day if I could!

Absolutely loved CudaCo! Their fish is super fresh and really enjoyed the coconut rice Poké bowl. I got half tuna and half salmon and the portion size was well worth the price. Very flavorful! There is free and plenty of parking outside the shop! Staff are super nice and there are a few tables inside. There's also some picnic benches outside that you can use when the weather is nice!

Can't recommend the Coconut Sticky Rice Bowl enough if you are craving a poke bowl. The fish is on display so you know it is fresh. You also get a decent sized portion for the price. The mussels with the white wine broth were also a big hit. Love that this place is also a seafood market so you can also pick out oysters and fresh cuts of fish to take home with you.

GREAT great seafood. You walk in and it just looks like a seafood market, but they have an amazing menu! Highly recommend the poke bowl! They also have a great wine selection. Service was excellent and as you can see by the photo, the seating area has some pretty spectacular views of the marsh. Very cool place to eat!

    Oyster po boy!

Excellent oyster Po Boy! Also had the very fresh Mahi fish dip! So tasty! Everyone was friendly and service was great! We went early so we didn't have to wait. We sat outside at the picnic tables and great to take kids! Picnic are overlooks the little tidal creek! I would definitely go back!

After driving by CudoCo. everyday, my friend and I finally stopped in. It is packed every time I drive past so it was a nice surprise to see a couple of spots were open for us. Seating is limited, but don't let that deter you. There are additional picnic tables out back if inside and the four two-too patio tables out front are full. We ordered the snapper fried fillet (that is the best fried fish I have had since visiting the UK. Hands down. Nothing in SC tops this.), the smoke white fish dip (absolutely incredible flavors!), raw oysters and their broiled oysters that were equally delicious. All of this was paired with a craft beer. The staff was very pleasant, and the interior is simple but nice and clean. I love that you can see what they'll be putting together for you. There is a small gift shop to by chips, dip, other food items and of course, merch! 10/10 recommend and can't wait to go back!

Don't blink or you might miss them! CudaCo appears as a small house on Folly Road heading toward the beach. The product of two friends who love surfing and seafood, this small shop has been selling seafood, cooking seafood, and providing seafood for lowcountry restaurants for five years. When you walk in you are greeted by an ice filled display case loaded with fresh food all available to be prepared the way you want it. We started with 1/2 pound of clams which could be served with either a white wine sauce or a curry sauce, we chose the white wine. They were super fresh and not the least bit chewy or gritty. My wife ordered the oyster po'boy which came loaded with large perfectly fresh oysters, a very generous portion. For a side she ordered the Cajun Vinegar kettle chips which were definitely Cajun with loads of spice on each chip. I tried a market fish which was a golden tile pan seared. It was market price which came out to $19 which was a little high but when you taste the freshness and tenderness its was well worth it. I tried the purple cumin slaw which was earthy and with bold spices. They have picnic benches facing a beautiful marsh perfect for enjoying a relaxing lunch!

Great experience here stopping for a late lunch. Wish the weather was nicer for sitting outside but inside was cozy anyway. Got some snapper, a crab cake, and some fish dip and all were delicious. It's great picking out the fish and getting it cooked to order. Looks like a great wine selection too though we didn't partake this time. Everyone is super friendly and were happy to help us out. Definitely worth another visit.

    Ceviche and tuna bowl

Ceviche is so crazy good! I order it without being finished with olive oil, which I appreciate.

Me and my boyfriend were excited to try this place out once it was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint! I had the peel and eat shrimp and he had the coconut sticky rice bowl. The shrimp was seasoned well and the bowl was bursting with flavor with every bite! We will definitely be back to try more of their delicious menu and carry out to make our own versions at home. 10/10!

It's exciting to make another major wedding decision and feel like we're getting closer to having everything come together. At the same time, I've been feeling a little uneasy about some of the budget conversations. Part of it is that I don't always feel like Olivia and I approach spending the same way. One thing that bothered me was that after deciding on Parcel 32, the conversation quickly shifted toward adding things like a photographer for the rehearsal dinner. My reaction was that we should wait until we understand the full wedding budget before making those decisions. There are still major unknowns, especially rentals, and I don't think we really know what the final numbers are going to look like. The same thing comes up with invitations. Olivia wants high end stationery and sees it as an important part of the wedding. I understand the perspective that it's our wedding and that it's a once in a lifetime event. But I also feel like I keep coming back to the budget while she keeps coming back to the experience. What makes me uncomfortable is treating money that appears to be left over in one category as money that's immediately available to spend somewhere else. In my mind, we don't know what we truly have left until the entire budget is finalized. Just because the rehearsal dinner comes in under budget doesn't necessarily mean we should immediately spend that difference somewhere else. Another thing that keeps coming back into my head is that Olivia makes very good money. She's probably making somewhere between $135,000 and $145,000 a year, which is objectively a strong income. So when I hear things like, "Maybe I need a second job to pay for that," my reaction is that a second job isn't really the issue. From my perspective, the issue is spending decisions. When I look at her financial situation, I don't see someone who has an income problem. I see someone who has made a series of expensive decisions that, when combined, created the situation she's in today. The apartment is one example. It was a really nice apartment, but given the amount of debt she already had, I don't think it was the most financially responsible choice. The rhinoplasty is another example. Whether it was personally important to her or not, it was still a major expense added on top of an already difficult financial situation. The dog is another one. I love Rio and I'm happy we have him, but realistically, a dog is another financial commitment that probably wasn't necessary at that point in time. Then there's the Jeep, which is probably the biggest example of all. Individually, each of these decisions can be justified. But when I step back and look at them together, I see a pattern of choosing things she wanted despite already carrying significant debt. That's what worries me. Not because of the wedding itself, but because I wonder whether that same pattern could show up later with vacations, kids, housing upgrades, or other major purchases. Maybe I'm overthinking it. Maybe wedding planning is making me more sensitive to these things. But I don't think my concern is really about invitations or photographers. I think it's about whether we fundamentally approach money differently. The reality is that our families are already spending roughly $225,000 on this wedding. That's an incredible amount of money, and I don't personally feel the need to push beyond that. I want us to have an amazing wedding, but I also want us to be disciplined and intentional about where the money goes. For now, I'm trying to separate what is a legitimate concern about long term financial compatibility from what is simply stress and uncertainty that comes with planning a large wedding.

The view here is beautiful, but unfortunately the food doesn't live up to it. While the scenery is definitely the highlight, the meals felt mediocre for the price. I ordered the ribeye, which is one of the most expensive items on the menu. It arrived overcooked to medium/well (I ordered it medium) and was surprisingly thin for a ribeye, maybe about a half inch at most. I was prepared to just keep it, but our waitress encouraged me to send it back. Saying you are paying for a good meal and we want you to be happy. Our waitress was training a new employee and doing a wonderful job so I thought this might be helpful for training. So I agreed. When the replacement steak came out, it unfortunately had the same issues. It was again overcooked, the edges were heavily charred to the point they weren't edible, and it was over-salted. The cut of meat itself was horrible as if they purposely picked the worst steak to resend. At that point I decided not to complain again, but I wasn't able to eat it. Our waitress (not the trainee) asked if we needed a refill of our water which I did. When she filled my glass she said "anything for you princess, since we messed up your order" regardless if it was meant derogatory or not that is not something you say to a customer under your breath. Overall, no one at our table was impressed with their meals and could not finish or didn't like them which was disappointing given the prices and the otherwise great setting. Don't get me wrong, I pay for good food. The view is worth mentioning, but the food didn't match the experience we were hoping for.
