Bland, room temp food and bad service. Visited Cuerno Grill for a late lunch (1:45 ish). After we waited at the host stand for 5 minutes, we grabbed a seat at the bar, where the only other patron was seated. We waited a few minutes (no bartender) and flagged down a busser who got a server for us. Our server came voluntarily to our table only a handful of times...we had to get up and go ask for her to take our order, bring drink refills, bring our check. We are not impatient people; we were her only customers and she spent her time seated near the kitchen scrolling on her phone. She visited our table voluntarily to take our drink order, bring our drinks, and bring our food. Every other time we had to go to the kitchen area and ask for help. Our food was not good. I'm pretty sure the Chile Relleno I ordered was frozen, it was warm on the outside and cold and soggy on the inside. Sides were cold, taco filling was cold. Nothing seemed to have been seasoned. And with no server checking to see if we needed anything, we couldn't ask for it to be heated. The server wasn't rude or ugly with us; she just would rather scroll on her phone than check in on us. I could / would have just asked her to heat the food to make it edible if she'd have come around. As it was, I took a couple of bites and was just done. Really bad. We came here in a Friday night to try it out, the inside decor is nice, but the seating isn't the best. The menu is extensive, my husbands orange chicken ordered enchiladas and I got fajitas. We asked for a bar menu and our server just said they had house margaritas for happy hour and didn't give us any other options. Then, I asked for another one and she never came back with the drink. Then, when we got our bill, there was a $24 charge for a pitcher of margaritas! We also lost our server for extended period of time. Let me just start by saying, they close at 9pm. My GPS said 10pm but as we arrived there at 8:30 we were kindly told they would close at 9pm. Parking - plenty. Family friendly and it can accommodate big groups. The food was authentic and the drinks were good and affordable. I really enjoyed the fact they serve three sauces for the chips and they're equally good. We had the sampler and it was perfect for two people. Table of six (three couples) came in Sunday around 4pm. The restaurant wasn't crowded and there seemed to be plenty of staff. Two of us ordered fajitas. Our friends received their meals, but we were given empty plates and no food. After about 5 minutes, we asked our server where our fajita order was - she walked away and never came back with an update. We ended up flagging down another staff member, who checked and told us it was 'coming.' By the time our food finally arrived, everyone else at the table had already finished eating. Unfortunately, the fajitas weren't good at all, and there was no apology or acknowledgment of the delay. We ordered the steak, chicken & shrimp fajitas. Couldn't even find the chicken in it, tiny bits that I assume were chicken. This was our second visit, and likely our last. With that many staff on the floor, this shouldn't have happened. read more

We moved to Nashville (Hermitage) a little over a year ago. This is the first Mexican restaurant we have found that we really like. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere are great. Beware server pockets cash... I ordered a taco salad without meat because the chicken and beef are pre cooked and dried out. When I got my meal it was ice cold. Not happy to say the least. I was given a black book to pay my bill, I put a twenty dollar bill in the book expecting to get change back. The server never came back to my table, when I asked a different server she said she will take care of it. As I walk to the counter a gentleman was un-wading my receipt and my $20 and gave me my change. Watching him do this tells me the server pockets cash, cheating his employer... This is a gluten free / gf review. I have to state up front that I have not eaten here. The bar environment and drinks looked really good. The staff was friendly and nice, but I would not eat here if you need a GF option because I'm not confident the staff understands what GF means. Last week, we walked into the restaurant and asked the hostess if they had any gluten-free options, and if she knew if the un arroz con pollo was GF. She looked puzzled and said, you mean the chicken cheese and rice? A few minutes later, after she spoke with a few people, she returned and told us that we could eat the burritos and something else that we knew contained gluten -- I can't recall what it was now. We left disappointed because the restaurant looked good. A week later, we called thinking that we might get a better response if we called and asked to speak with someone about gluten-free options. This is second Mexican food spot we've tried in Mount Juliet and for the record it's not SoCal styled Mexican food, but it's far better than Cinco De Mayo. We ordered the chill relleno, cheese enchiladas and a chicken quesadilla for the little guy. First off, don't sleep on the chicken quesadilla, It was delicious! Chicken, spicy cheese all cooked inside a tortilla,,what's not to love?! Chili rellenos are my favorite and I almost always order this if it's on the menu. The Los Compadres version is a solid dish. First off, it's huge, stuffed with cheese and deep fried. Sometimes, chili rellenos are basically mush, but this pepper was still pretty firm and spicy. I wound have liked the temp to be hotter, but that hard to do via curbside pick up. The cheese enchiladas were kind of bland and had no texture. They also came with rice and beans, so this was basically a plate of soft foods. Give me some chopped lettuce or raw veggies for that crunch! We will be hitting up this again and next up... it's burrito time, Olé! read more

Tried this place for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised. Carlos the server was super knowledgeable about the menu and made our dining experience unforgettable! He recommended some great drinks, appetizers and entrees and everything came out perfectly timed, hot and was incredibly delicious! We got the sampler platter and queso, Carlos recommended the carnitas and enchiladas suizas and they tasted just like the ones we get in Mexico, very authentic! The margaritas are spot on as well! Long time visitor to Los Compadres at Green Hill / Mt Juliet...among the Mexican restaurants we have they we good...BUT with the recent menu change and improved service they are back!!! The Tacos Gummpadees (I know I misspelled it) but they were great! Margarita was awesome and we all had a great meal. I'd call this a higher end mexican cuisine and it's spot on. If I could give this place zero stars I would. This used to be the best Mexican food ever, but I'm pretty sure ownership changed and now it's gone from the best to the worst. Here is why... They had terrible service. A couple times I had to get up out of my seat and get our ride waiter to come to our table. He wasn't even busy he was just lazy! Then there is the food (that took to forever to come out) it was cold, I got beef tacos and what was on the tacos was guacamole, sour cream, and lettuce. I also ordered soft tacos and they brought me crunchy tacos. Then I sent it back and made them redo it and wheel I got the new tacos I bit into one and the meat was CRUNCHY and BURNT! The person I was with's food was awful too and for the first time we DID NOT TIP. We won't be going back to those rude people and terrible food and I don't recommend you go either. I absolutely recommend this place. I have tried other Mexican restaurants, this one by far is the best. Came in to try the fajitas and their portions are huge. Came here with a party of about 8 others on a Tuesday night. The service not so great. The place was not busy at all, and there were a few wait staff just hanging around doing nothing...and yet our table was piling up with empty glasses. The few times our waitress did come in to check on us, she kept trying to hassle us for some drinks. For example, when one guy at our table wanted a plain margarita, she spent like two minutes firmly trying to talk him into to getting a "premium top shelf" margarita...and he just ended up giving in so she'd go away. It was like she was a salesperson more than anything, which definitely detracted from the whole dining experience. I had the Lemon Drop Martini. It was just okay. Definitely talked up more than it was worth. For my entree I had the Shrimp Poblano...which was pretty darn good. Though I'm not sure I'd go back simply because of the service. read more

Really disappointed by this place. The ambiance/decor are a nice touch, but that's about all it had going for it. Went for lunch during the week with my husband. Restaurant was pretty empty, but it was early so didn't immediately set off alarm bells. Service started out strong, but that was only because the waitress didn't have anything better to do when we first arrived. I ordered nachos which came out soggy and sloppily put together. My husband ordered a carnitas burrito. He was assured by the waitress prior to ordering that the burrito only contained meat, rice, & beans. When the burrito arrived, it was stuffed with bell peppers & onions and two very small pieces of pork, in addition to the rice & beans. When he asked our waitress to confirm he'd been given the correct order she confirmed yes & said it always comes with the onions & peppers though she never mentioned it when asked earlier. At that point a friend of hers must have come in because she abandoned our table to chat at the bar with the new arrival. We finally had to wave her down to get our check. I did not have the presence of mind to snap a pic of the tostada. It truly had over half of a cup of sour cream on top, plus 2 cups of lettuce. I'm sure this was an attempt to hide the fact that this "Chicken Tostada" also had a couple of minuscule shards of chicken on it, as well. Also, lucky to reach an ounce... I'm being generous on scale. After having to explain how insulting the meal was, they did bring out some more chicken i. A side bowl, but we opted to leave. We had lost our appetites. So $14 for a chip and salsa lunch. I think I would now only go here on a Sunday, for the buffet. This is the second of two weekday experiences that fell way short. read more
