Went there for restaurant week with three other friends. We all got the swordfish and I got the squash soup while they all got the scallops. Most of us got the cinnamon apples and one got the chocolate ice cream bar. The food was pretty good, and I'd give it 4 stars. We were recommended a decent yet inexpensive wine and served two pieces of bread each (no basket). One was plain jane white bread and the other was very grainy and quite tasty with good texture. Then we got a palette cleanser. Well, that's what we assumed it was. It was pineapple and sherberty and we didn't ask for it. Being served food that we didn't know what it was was strange. Usually a cleanser is reserved for in between courses, and bread is NOT a course. Most of the shrimp in my soup was overcooked, but the ones that weren't were delicious. The soups itself was terrific. The others enjoyed their scallops. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the swordfish which was combined with cheesy gnocchi. Tasty and just enough. The cinnamon apple dessert was nothing special, and the chocolate ice cream bar was just an ice cream sandwich The service was sub-par at best. We were there over an hour before we got our entrees. Women weren't served first, food wasn't delivered or taken away on the correct side, and was passed over the table. The waiter pouring wine had no idea how to pour the first glass for the orderer. The food took forever (each course). If you go there, go with people you can talk to and enjoy each others' company, because the food won't distract you. I'm pretty sure the food taking forever wasn't the waiter's fault, so there seems to be a larger problem with service at Cuisine. We left not hungry, and not full, so we got a fairly healthy amount of food. All in all, I'm glad I went, but would not go back. Side note: do NOT go there if you have a play/concert to get to. The couple next to us had to dine and dash after the appetizer because they had to make a show. Luckily, there's free street parking after 6 and it struck me as a relatively safe neighborhood. read more

If you like heavier salads, the Salad de Lyon is right up your alley! The two entrees we tried, while not "as good as it gets," were both savory. They were the California sturgeon and the Maine lobster with gnocchi. We enjoyed them, though the gnocchi were a little too firm so that they felt like you were eating the consistency of those squishy cheese sticks, except in large pellet form. The excellent quality of the lobster, however, made up for it. The waiter gave some good recommendations, but turned a little standoffish with our questions after we paid our bill (we paid 20% so I don't think it was because of that). Neither was it particularly crowded. It just leaves a bad taste in your mouth when you have that "Okay, you've eaten, now get out of here" feeling, which is what is communicated when there is no cordial farewell or even any sign of gratitude for one's business. That last impression I'm sorry to say brought a 4-star place that you would come back to down to an A-OK 3. Granted you don't want insincerity, but even McDonald's folk say "thank you." read more

WOW!! Absolutely phenomenal! Had dinner here before a show at the Fox downtown, and this worked out perfectly! The food was amazing, and everything was so perfectly made, it was delicious. We started with lobster bisque and autumn squash soup, and both were very flavorful without being overwhelming or too rich. I had the beef sirloin which was cooked to a perfect medium, was very juicy and tasty, with an excellent sauce. The risotto was cooked to perfection - not too mushy and still flavorful. My date had the striped bass and truffle oil mac & cheese... everything was amazing. Service was excellent. The sommelier made excellent recommendations without being too pushy, and was super friendly. We even managed a free tasting since it was so quiet on a Sunday night. So awesome!! All in all, it was a quiet gem of a restaurant. We had two appetizers, two entrees and a couple glasses of wine (some generously complimentary) and spent less than $150 for two people, including tip. Decided to try Cuisine due to a Groupon. We had heard good things about it so we were excited to try a new (to us) downtown place. Unfortunately we came away disappointed. The food is good, but doesn't rise to the level of amazing or exceptional. Everything was "solid" but we weren't blown away by anything. We ordered from the tasting menu and opted for the wine pairings. Our waiter did a decent job of pairing wines with our orders, but again - none of the wines blew us away and the pours were very small. Afterwards we agreed we would have probably been better off if we had just ordered a bottle. Service was spotty but to be fair they were very busy the night we were there. Groupons were expiring so nearly every table was filled. It wasn't a bad experience, but given the prices they charge we expected better (and have had better meals for less - even with the groupon). Duck came out cold and over cooked, soufflé on the menu was not described so chocolate would obviously be assumed and it came out grand marnier soufflé and my fiancé hates citrus flavors. This place is so special and delicious, I wish I lived closer and could come in more often! They had pumpkin swordfish on the menu! That's not something you get very often, SO delish. We started with lobster bisque and it had an effervescent foam on it - I'm going to crave that for weeks! I'm not sure it's offered often, but I hope so 'cuz I'll be back for that. The wine list is also special - a great selection and not too overpriced like a lot of places of this caliber often do. As far as Covid, they follow all the protocols and make you feel very safe and looked after. Lastly, everything was made more special by Steve, our server. My group of eight had a thoroughly enjoyable meal at Cuisine this past Thursday evening. For the food alone, I would easily rate it 5 stars. I got the Salad de Lyon and the black bass entree, and both were sublime. My husband loved the scallops. Tasty homemade bread. The only deduction in stars is for service...our server started out pretty good, but basically disappeared toward the end of the meal, even though she knew at the start of the night that we had to get to the Fisher for a show. We ended up having to drag our credit cards up to another server up front and beg him to cash us out. A bummer, but not a reason to not go back with a smile...I haven't had an entree as tasty as that black bass in a long, long time. I really can't wait to go back! A few additional comments: hostesses were VERY sweet, bartender was fair to good but the bar looked literally like it was in my basement (it could use a little jazzing up), loved the pineapple thyme sorbet for the amuse bouche. Lastly, you couldn't get more convenient for a pre-theater dinner....as long as they remember to bring you the bill! read more

Not impressed. We wanted to love this place and they do a lot of things right, but overall we were debating to give it either 2 or 3 stars and decided on 2 stars given the price point. We arrived at a mostly empty restaurant and they sat us a table just inside the bar area. It was fine but had I known they had another entire dining area in the back, I would have asked to be moved. It turns out the servers are also the bartenders and it shows. We ordered two cocktails and we are quite sure what we received was just bourbon straight out of the bottle. It was a lot of liquor so I usually wouldn't be complaining but that is not what we ordered. We then ordered the Thai shrimp. They brought out four shrimp which were deep fried with the legs and shells still on with some sort of flavorless sauce. They were terrible and we sent them back. Note to the restaurant-advise your diners if you are serving shrimp in a style that requires them to eat the legs and shells. Then we had the lobster bisque which we were ensured was out of this world. It wasn't. It was good but we've had much better. So far, it gets 2 stars which according to Yelp means "I've had better". Despite having bread plates on the table, we never received any bread so had to ask for it. They brought it with the meal and is just store bought Italian. They then brought our mains-a beef tenderloin (V. good) and diver scallops (good). The highlight of the evening was the deserts-a dacquoise (amazing) and a pana cotta (v. good). The deserts were the star of the show. The service though out the evening was very disorganized and not up to the standards of this type of restaurant. Overall we were glad we tried it but at roughly $100/person, we won't be back. When it opened 17 years ago it was one of the few nice restaurants in Detroit but now we have a huge array of options and Cuisine hasn't kept up with the competition. read more

I'd been meaning to eat here for a couple years now. I'm disappointed I didn't go sooner. My dinner was perhaps the best I've had in Detroit. It was the best vegetarian dinner. It was a very interesting, varied offerings, all of which were very tasty. My girlfriend's loved the sturgeon as well. That vegetarian plate wasn't on the menu. They didn't have any vegetarian dinners but they had a veggie progression. They were good enough to pull something together from that. Yes, the interior was a little tired, but it was unique: a classic large Detroit home turned restaurant. The service was good and the prices were more reasonable than my expectations. read more

Five of us ate here before "La Cage" at the Fisher Theater. We made reservation letting them know of our plans. Picking a time which they said would allow for a nice leisurely diner before the theater. Although, it took way too long for service and food to arrive. We had to leave before desert to make the show on time! It was restaurant week so the menu was limited three course only. The lobster bisque soup was cold and watery. The entrees were cold! We came back after the show to eat our desert and even with no one in the restaurant we had to wait forever! The desert was the only thing we had that tasted well. Awful. Detroit restaurant week tonight, ordered the halibut, was warned the plate was very hot, it was, but the pre cooked halibut on it was still cold from the fridge. Told the server who was very apologetic, he said he would tell the manager. No manager came to see what was wrong, no comment from management at all & noncompliance on the bill. Terrible attitude, the Zagat awards should be removed, they are not deserved. Will not go back & am telling everyone about this poor experience. read more

All boldly re-painted exterior. Beautiful and inviting. Perfect Patio dining on a perfect-weather June evening in Detroit. Oh my goodness, what a delicious meal. Perfect Dove Sole for 2 -- the entire fish pan-cooked by a very talented Chef and then fileted off the bones by server Sarah so cleanly. Tomato-caper sauce and Dover Sole took us to Provence. The accompaniments of an au-gratin potato "cake" and peeled asparagus were perfect, too. We added a rich morels (many!) in cream sauce and were transported to our finest diner in ages. My family had dinner at Cuisine last night on the spur of the moment before last night's Blue Man Group show at the Fisher, which was very cool btw. My wife had wanted to dine at Cuisine for many years but we weren't really dressed for the occasion. The Maitre D was more than happy to have us and even remarked that we needed not to have worried. Well, the food and drinks were SPECTACULAR! Their signature cocktails were delicious and the prepared theater menu was really sublime. Our little ones (8 and 6) shared our entrees (the beef and the fish) and the macaroni side and brussel sprouts were devoured. My 8 year old said "why do people automatically hate brussel sprouts; these are delicious!". The two of us will be back when we can relax a little more :-) but we would recommend Cuisine to everyone. Food is always really good. But unlike the sister restaurant in Birmingham, The Stand, the service is very spotty. Last night we went before seeing a play at the Fisher Theatre. We were given the bartender to be our server. He was very nice, but over burdened and very stressed. We talked to the manager who gave us, the customer, a big dose of righteous indignation vs an apology. She then proceeded to ignore us. Tip to any Fisher Theatre show goers... We had a group of seven that arrived at different times. Yet, the first few to arrive at 6pm would have started ordering food since they were there for dinner and the rest of us were there for appetizers & drinks. But, drinks & food orders were way too slow, so the table agreed to leave at 740pm with no food in site, especially since they did not even come around with bread or water for half the table. Star #1 is the experience. Star #2 is for the waiter - he was actually cool & was his first week there. Bummer he had to miss out on a tip that would've been on 15+ drinks, 2 entrees, and 6 appetizers! So, I'd definitely try Cuisine - just not a night they may be over busy. Don't let the New Center location trick you- this restaurant is straight hood. Following dinner I assisted a full-blown crack head who had been stabbed through the hand. Anyhow, the vibe is not so cozy, the lights are waaaayyyy too bright, the building (old house) is not nice. I'm not into the poorly remodeled, old Victorian thing. I was actually quite irritated when we arrived. I kind of had a bad attitude all day, so I won't blame the restaurant... The hostess was a quiet talker, like the pretty Asian girl from Pitch Perfect. I had to tell her we couldn't hear her. She had us wait at the bar for about twenty minutes despite our reservations. The bartender was lovely, he made my friend a "Joe's special" that he says was great. After we finally sat, the real wait began. We were fortunate to have the pleasure of being sat near another couple experiencing the same waiting issues as us and we had quite a nice chat. The reason I gave 4 stars, you may ask? The food... oh the food. Unreal. Amazing. Worth every minute of waiting. The tuna tartar was superb. The Scallop in coconut milk with lemon grass was mind-blowing, and I devoured it. The beef short rib was perfect. Dover sole, excellent. The star of our feast was a lobster dish. Served in a sweet broth spiked with chives and topped with a beautiful air puffed mozzarella ball... delectable. I typically don't care for lobster but this was just beautiful. There were sorbet courses that were forgotten by the server but who cares? The waiter was adorable, although flustered. The food was killer. They didn't fuck around. I hear there is a Birmingham location popping up in place of Zazzio's, so we will see. I am a sucker for atmosphere and the Detroit spot lacked there. In hindsight, the wait was acceptable due to how busy the restaurant was, and the wondrous food made up for the creative serving style. This is a must try for those who have not. read more

Wish I could give this place a better rating, but I just can't. The food was pretty damn good. I'll give them that much. But that's about all I can say on the positive side. Frankly, it wasn't worth the price. The service was ridiculously bad. They call this place fine dining but the wait staff was confused the entire time. The waiter explained that he didn't even work there and was helping out during Detroit Restaurant Week. He had no idea what beers they served and clearly didn't want to go back to the bar to ask. That was actually cool, I appreciated his honesty. What I didn't appreciate was them not knowing who ordered what and not clearing our plates when we were finished. I eventually just stacked them on the table next to us. I would add that Christine Beatty's old ass lawyer was sitting at that same table when we walked in. Morgan Morganroth or whatever his name is. I know I know. The old motherfucker was just doing his job when he defended her. Still don't have to like the fact that he defended a person who blatently and directly contributed to the sad state of affairs of my former hometown of 42 years. It's a free country and If I want to hate him and choose not to be around him, I can. So seeing him got me off to a bad start, I admit. But that has nothing to do with my review. Just adding a little color. Back to the reasons I only gave two stars despite actually liking the food. The food was good. But not that good to overcome the deficiencies. The ceiling was crumbling in the upstairs room where we were seated. Literally chunks of plaster and paint were hanging down. And when they served my coffee, they brought out a cup with no saucer. Again, I'm not being a little bitch about that. I mean, who really gives a shit about a saucer anyhow? But, if it's supposed to be fine dining, make it fine dining. Bring me a damn saucer under my coffee cup and damn teaspoon. Shit. Finally, after we were all done, the table cleared and bill paid, a waiter we'd never seen up until that point rushes over to our table and puts an entree down in front of my wife's friend and says "enjoy your dinner" and rushed away. We were like "WTF???" - another waiter quickly rushed over and grabbed it and took it to the correct table on the other side of the room. Anyway, I'm willing to give it another shot when it's not Detroit Restaurant Week to see if the service is any better. The saving grace of it all was that the servers were very friendly, which is why despite the service not being very professional, they still got their 20% tip. read more

We went there for a special occasion and decided to order the prix fixe menu with 5 courses (and wanted wine pairing that was not really available, other than picking wine glasses from the menu..) Service: A 2 star... ZERO stars for the cute indian hostess, ONE for the busser, FOUR for our server ... that rounds up to a TWO for average. Our server was actually nice and polite, but seemed to be extremelly busy, the hostess was less than inviting (lack of initiative is the word that pops in my mind) and then we had a "busser" that forgot his job dsecription and decided to do all.... FOOD: We ordered the prix fixe menu (or progressive menu as known in the restaurant, since the busser did not know what fix prix was, but gladly suggested the progressive menu). LOBSTER SOUP The soup had a touch of cream fraiche, very rich I just wish to find a couple of pieces of lobster at the end of the dish, it'd have been a nice touch. SALAD it appears to be the same they offered during Restaurant week, arugula with prosciuto and grape tomatoes with a touch of honey, unusual but very good combination. PASTA We had a lobster ravioli (sounds like restaurant week again?) and the sauce seemed to be the lobster soup, it's ok, but not impressive. FISH WOW, that was the big star of the night, it was atlantic seabass with flaky pastry around but the fish was BEAUTIFULLY cooked, it was steaming hot, but juicy, smooth, like heaven on earth... very memorable... MEAT: We had a prime rib with foie gras and RICH does not even get close to describe this dish. First, you have to remember, this was a "progressive dinner" and although the portions were small, this nonetheless was the last dish... second, this was meat, so it'll weigh in once you eat, but thirdly... foie gras... that is fat with a fatty meat, so the dish although tasty was just an overdose at this point in the course. As I said TASTY (velvety and buttery), but over the top. DESERT It was nice. We had the chocoloate ganache torte, very well done, you can tell the chef has great skills as a pastry chef. There was this chocolate hazelnut ice cream on top of a crunchy buttery cookie, that was really amazing... it made me lick my fingers. OVERALL Staff needs to go (pls keep the server though). They also need to hire a "REAL somellier instead of pretending there is one in the kitchen - you think I have not overhead that two other tables also asked for wine suggestions and the same answer was given - "Our sommelier is in the kitchen, I can go ask...", hey I'm not that naive). As far as the food goes it was memorable! LOVE IT! One suggestion: best time is to arrive either before or after the Fischer Theater crowd. I was so bummed to have to write such a negative review about this restaurant. I usually am pretty easy going when it comes to places. But unfortunately, the experience cannot be sugar-coated. We went to DRW with a group of 9 people. We had an 8:30 reservation for 7, so my boyfriend and I arrived early to get ahead of everyone and make sure they could accommodate our additional people. They said it would be no problem and that we would have a table downstairs because the upstairs dining area wasn't currently up to par. We waited at the bar which was quaint while the rest of our party arrived. Take note that this was at 8:15p.m. The host came over several times to assure us that our table would be ready soon and then around 8:45p.m. asked if we have a group of 7 - we reminder him that we have already discussed that we had 9 and he seem completely confused and told us this was news to him. We remained calm and waited for our table to be ready... around 9:30p.m. we were seated UPSTAIRS of all places, where he previously told us wasn't as nice. That's fine, we had a big group - okay. The next issue with this experience was that our server was openly drinking. She did a fine job with our table, but was clearly drinking wine on the side with other servers. I just found this to be inappropriate. Lastly, the food...I will say that my salad with goat cheese and blueberries was good. Now, I had the beef stew (essentially what it was) and I am so sad to say that it has zero flavor. It tasted like someone put beef and potatoes in a crock pot and cooked it for 10 hours. That is all. And then I had the polenta tart for dessert and it was grainy. I'm assuming that means it wasn't cooked correctly. A lot of my friends enjoyed their lamb loin, but my food was a complete disappointment. This experience was unfortunate because the venue is super cute and it looks like a little house. The biggest factor is that it was Restaurant Week, but I believe restaurants should utilize that time to impress consumers to come back in the future, not provide a poor experience because diners are only spending $30 for three courses. They need to keep in mind that diners like myself will spend plenty on drinks and additional add-ons. P.S. We did add on brussel spouts - not impressed :( read more

I wish I could leave ZERO stars... We made the decision to try this place last night for Valentine's Day since it was available on Open Table and we had heard very little about the place except that it was a cute home turned in to restaurant. Anyway, we had a 9pm reservations and weren't seated until 9:15. Once seated, we weren't greeted for another 10 minutes. We ordered right away. The menu was a Pre Fixed 4 course menu so it was quite easy to make a decision. We waited for over an hour and a half for our 1st course to arrive. During that hour and a half we had to ask for bread, then ask for butter and even ask to have our water glasses refilled. Our server never visited our table to check on us or offer us another drink. (The first drink we had we got at the bar when we were waiting to be seated) We had the pleasure of overhearing all of the servers complain about the kitchen only having 2 chefs. (It's a pre fixed menu. How is everything not already prepped????). Also the manager kept blaming open table. Perhaps he just doesn't know how the system works? He controls how many reservations they can manage. We also had ordered the wine flight to come with each course. We finally received the first glass about 20 minutes before our first course arrived. My first course was wrong so I had to send it back. It took them 5 minutes to come back with the correct choice. Our 2nd course (a salad) was wrong for both of us. We send it back. we luckily received our 2nd glass of wine. Our 3rd course arrived before our salads came back. We never got our glass of wine with this course. Our dessert was boring to say the least. We again luckily received a glass of sparkling wine. By the end of everything, they offered us a glass of wine on the house. We took it, since it was the vey least they could offer. The only reason we didn't walk out was because we were hoping the food would blow us away. It didn't. It was boring. Nothing terribly exciting. We learned on our way out that 65 tables walked out. Wow! Maybe one day I will go back and try it again, but not any time soon. read more

Server acted put out while taking drink orders, had no idea what beers or wines they had in stock and took constant, pretentious jabs at our simple requests like glasses of water for all the guests at the table or a cup of coffee with dessert. Would have loved to try the food everyone else is raving about. Alas, eating was not meant to be for our table of 4. We arrived for a 6 pm reservation think 2 hours should be enough to enjoy a dinner before walking across the street to the Fisher Theater. Wrong!!!! Service was slowwwwww. 10 minutes before being greeted. 10 minutes to get the bottle of wine. 15 minutes after the wine arrived before we ordered off the Detroit Restaurant Week predefined menu. 7:00 when the 1st of 3 predefined courses arrived. We questioned the waiter about the food timing but our waiter assured us we were fine. 7:15 we were told we were next. 7:35 we called the manager over. Explained we hadn't gotten dinner or dessert and we had theater tickets. His best response... "You and everyone else". At 7:45 we paid for the wine and left only having the opportunity to sample soup. I will say just about every table around us was stressing over making the curtain. What I can review about the wine list was they had a nice variety and the pricing had many options. My quinoa beef soup was good. But not fabulous. I have no intention of going back. No one seemed to care that we were not going to eat. read more

Here are the reasons we had an awful experience: 1) Even though we made a reservation days in advance and the reservation was correct in their system, we arrived and were seated at a table that did not have enough seats. 2) Instead of putting us at a table that would fit our party, they squeezed us in at the table that was too small. 3) It took 20 minutes to get water 4) It took 45 minutes (after a complaint to the manager and two comments to the bus boy) to have someone take our order. 5) The Manager had no idea which server was assigned to our table. 6) The Manager berated three employees in front of a full restaurant. 7) The dining room was probably 80 degrees; it was so warm. 8) We had to ask for refills for our water. 9) Once we got the first course, it was another hour before we received our main dish. 10) It took a total of three hours to get through three courses. Again, the food was not stellar. 11) The Manager offered to give us appetizers and free drinks to make up for the bad service, but then the drinks ended up on our bill. 12) We asked the server to fix the bill, but the Manager said she couldn't. 13) I went to speak to the Manager and she refused to adjust the bill because they were overwhelmed by restaurant week. 14) After telling the Manager that we were not pleased with the three hour wait, the service, or the fact that she yelled at three employees in front of the entire restaurant, I asked her to adjust the bill again. 15) The Manager sent up the Sous Chef, who told me that she was not actually the Manager and that he was the Manager. 16) The Sous Chef took the position that since the food was not bad, he would not adjust the bill to take off the drinks. 17) After arguing with us for at least 10 minutes or more, he finally took off the gratuity and the cost of the drinks. 18) Not once did any of the "management" or "chefs" apologize to us or thank us for our business. We gave the server a tip that was well over 20% and also paid the bill. Unfortunately, even though I live in the neighborhood and love to eat at nice restaurants, I will not go to Cuisine again. I urge others to stay away. The food was good, but it's nothing special. There are far better restaurants in Detroit where the owners, management, and staff will treat you with respect and actually appreciate your business. read more

Made Valentine's Day reservations after having read a number of other reviews on here. Definitely a good choice! The food was excellent. Off the prix fixe menu, my fiancé had the scallops, the chopped salad, the grouper, and the chocolate mousse. I had the scallops as well, the Caesar salad, the wagyu sirloin, and the chocolate mousse. Everything was cooked to perfection and plated nicely. We both really enjoyed our food. Service was great and very attentive. Our water glasses never got below half, and they were offering us more bread every 15 minutes! It was a nicely-paced 4-course meal service. They do recommend, that if you have theater tickets, to inform them in advance. Our only "complaint" was that it wasn't dimmer inside. The lights were a bit too bright for our tastes, especially for a romantic dinner for two. It's not a big place, but it didn't feel crowded. Public parking very close by, or metered out front. I felt like it was a "secret" place not known by many, and easily passed by. But, once inside, you'll see evidence that this is a world-class restaurant and named one of the best restaurants in the nation by Zagats. read more

A group from work went during restaurant week 2009. $27 for three courses. The lobster ravioli (two small dumplings) each had a chunk of lobster in them - that was nice. The arugula salad w/prosciutto and parmesan also was nice - simple olive oil dressing. Main courses were seafood plate, beef short rib, chicken breast over carrot risotto, and melange of vegetables. The seafood plate was TINY. A sliver of smoked salmon, 1 scallop, a mini crabcake (1.5" in diameter), and a sushi sized piece of halibut (they were out of shrimp). Oh, and a garnish of green beans. Short rib was maybe 5"x1.25x3/8"? Tiny. Chicken breast was a reasonable sized meal, and good according to the person that ordered it. The waitress told us no one had ever ordered the melange of vegetables, so she didn't know what was in it. Neither did the chef - what ever was on hand, I guess. Dessert was chocolote walnut cake or strawberry lemon curd tart, each with a walnut sized scoop of ice cream. The cake was a normal size, but the tart was the size of my Ipod. They served two slices of delicious bread prior to the meal, and a speck of sorbet. All in all, it was okay, but a very poor decision on their part if the goal of restaurant week is to get new customers. Just all around bad... Don't come here. Braised pork was dry, grits clumpy, mac and cheese was just embarrassing. My girlfriend ordered the sirloin and couldn't even cut through it. I'm pretty offended at the entire experience. All the comments about bad service are SPOT on. Our waitress acted put out when I asked what kind of bourbon they had. I can't think of a more normal, unassuming thing to ask a waitress. General manager, while nice, didn't take care of the situation and still made us wait before cashing out. Trust me... Pass on this one and just go to the Whitney or Roast. read more

We made reservations at Cuisine at 6:00 before a 8:00 show at the Fisher Theatre. It took over 20 minutes after being seated to even get a menu or drink, so our group decided that we would likely NOT have time to enjoy a full dining experience. We ordered two dinners and 5 side dishes (brussel sprouts, asparagus, potatoes, etc...) for 7 people to share. When we ordered we asked if there would be enough time to get to our show on time and were ASSURED that we would get our order in time. 45 minutes later, still no food. Management was very rude, making the excuse that they were busy due to the show. The restaurant should have been more prepared. Terrible. *I have eaten here once before on a non-show night and the service was terrible then as well. The food was good, but nothing exciting. read more

This is a tough one. Food was very good. Three of us had the Sturgeon and one had the beef. It was all served hot and was very tasty. We waited over an hour between soup/salad to entree. No bread was brought for about 1/2 hour. Water was filled for one of us but not the others! Just crazy. It felt like we were being held hostage. Bottom line, go for the food. Don't go when you have any place to be. We had a three hour dinner and still had to eat our dessert while putting on our coats. Three hours!! read more
