I dealt with Culligan for 30 years. They got bought out. You have to prepay 2 days in advance fortheir installation of services. The installation was September 20 this year. The only thing this owner and management is worried about is their money they could care less about you.Customer service is down the tubes. I regret this decision plain and simple. I ask the installer to level the new copper piping in the installation. What a joke. I was a union electrician for 43 years if I did that kind of installation my check would have been there and MY COMPANY would have fired me plain and simple.Culligan main office will not let you chose another dealer. Bull____! They are just like any other company no customer service and play me first. I hope this unit last because if I have to replace it I will TAKE MY BUSSINESS ELSEWHERE PLAIN AND SIMPLE. read more

I am aware that this will shock precisely no one, but Culligan, of course, did not permanently fix their delivery problems. In fact, they regressed. The entire business is being held captive by incompetent, passive aggressive drivers who refuse to maintain an acceptable level of professionalism. Our stop continues to be missed, the water and salt are left on our porch instead of being taken in to our home, the empty bottles are left behind because I can only assume it is too difficult to carry them back to the truck, and our basement lights are left on. Really? I'm paying for this? Their delivery system is by far the worst on the planet. When I have called to inquire about missed deliveries I have been told all sorts of nonsense about notes in the system showing that we requested no more deliveries. Not true. Also if notes can be put in the system, why can't they be of value? For instance, why not write down where the water should go? P.S. it is in our mudroom not the foyer which the driver seems to think is a natural storage spot. Who am I kidding he leaves it there because it is one step inside the door. I have given Culligan multiple opportunities to right the ship, and unfortunately they are incapable. I finally fired them today. What a relief! I am leaving everything on the porch and requested my key back. There is only so much aggravation I can take and I am beyond my limit. I am sick of paying for delivery that is never done correctly. Since my husband was already having to schlep water around the house, it will be just as easy to get water from Home Depot or Alsip Nursery. Writing this review makes me feel like a complete schmuck. Who stays with a company that is so poorly run with such miserable customer service? Me, I did. I signed up with them in 1996 and I rented my softener and water dispenser. I was new to town and just wanted one less thing to think about. I wasn't used to having hard water and I gave them my key and arranged for the water and salt to be delivered. They were also in charge of checking that the water softener was working. Never once in the nearly 18 years since then did those directions change. The location of where they were to put it or what they were to do stayed the same. Yet, various times during those years, they failed miserably. Water and salt were not delivered. Softener was not working. I would call and rant and rave and eventually it would get resolved. I should have left years ago and the fact that I put up with such incompetence is shame on me. I get why they weren't motivated to actually do their job as I kept paying month after month, calling to complain every so often. But I reached my tipping point when the new furnace was threatened by the new humidifying system not working due to the water quality. Although we were paying for salt and the machine was whirling around at night, our water was not actually softened. Nicor discovered this when they couldn't understand how the pads on the humidifier were so gunked up. They tested the water, something Culligan had failed to do for over 18 months. We had hard water even though I was paying 20.00 a month for water softener rental and about the same for 2 to 3 bags of salt. Sweet. During this same time our water and salt were dumped at our front door even though they had the key and were supposed to enter from the back and maintain the softener. This happened two months in a row. When we called to say the softener wasn't working they came out twice, not on the day they said they would but on other days. They basically said, yeah, that's not working and left. We went to Home Depot and arranged for reverse osmosis and a brand new very efficient system with a 10 year guarantee. We got zero percent financing and the system will have paid for itself in five years. It's been in for two weeks and our dishes look great, the water tastes fabulous and we don't have all the drama with Culligan. If you are needing a water softener that doesn't work, water that arrives in random locations at random times and non existent customer service, this is your dream business! Otherwise I suggest you check out the many other options available. I promise you they could not be worse, it's impossible. And our new system is just great. read more

Think of the absolute worst business you know. One that is incompetent, disorganized and unreliable. Now imagine them on their worst day. Hold that thought. You are still not imagining a business that is as poorly run as Culligan Water in Mokena. They are affable enough but have no follow through, don't do what they say they will and have faulty equipment. Posting this hoping it leads to a call back or email. It's been nearly 5 months and still waiting for Dennis to come out and take a look at our softener. We've made multiple appointments and each time there was a reason he or one of his colleagues didn't show up ("big project that's urgent", "sick", etc). At the time, sure whatever. But when I tell you I have an infant who is getting rashes bc the water is hard, shouldn't that also be urgent? Also, not to mention a bill that is incorrect. I was double charged for a service call and it hasn't been reversed and I am being charged interest. You have my phone number and email address. I am writing to relay my anger, and dissatisfaction with Culligan, Mokena, IL. At this time, February 9, 2010, 1pm, I am without the ability to use hot water services in my home. I phoned the office this morning to inform them that after their installer installed my Culligan/Mokena purchased water softener, I have had both weak hot water pressure as well as no hot water with the valve/faucet in the full 'on' position. That phone call took place at 8am this morning. Now, 5 hours later, I have yet to receive a return call, visit, or offer from their company to correct the problem that began only after the install yesterday at 10 am. I'd be inclined to be somewhat patient if it weren't for the fact that beyond the improper install yesterday, and the failure to return my call this morning, if it weren't for the fact that yesterday's appointment date and install are examples of their poor customer service onto itself. To be specific, I phoned Culligan Mokena for an appointment to estimate the install of my previous purchased water softener from my former home- only used 3 years, to my new home where it has never been installed. On that day, January 4th, I accepted an install day for the last Wednesday in January- January 25th as listed on the order form for the amount of $240 with install to hot water only, 3 bags of salt included. That appt time came and went without a call. The noon that day, I phoned their office to ask what had happened. I was given an excuse: there was a flu bug going around the office and they were low on workers. No explanation as to why no one called to inform me was given. The appointment was then rescheduled to the following week. Again, they no showed for the Wednesday Feb 1st appt. This time less patient, or naïve, I phoned the company. This time the excuse was "They ladies scheduled it for the wrong date- this time I'll do it myself." Funny thing- neither time did an advance call go out, not even for an erroneous date, thus it is of course highly unlikely that this too is true. The following Wednesday, Feb 8 (our 3 install appt, and 4 overall scheduled meet), brings us to my current situation. They finally send a tech at 10am this day, but just short of 20 hours after his departure and (mis)installation, I only have cold water flowing freely from my water faucets for greater than 10-15 seconds at full force. I will be posting a video of this new performance for Yelp and other online service reviewer sites for documentation of this fact. There is extremely weak flow from any bathroom sink, even as we turn the valve to full on the hot water valve. That weak trickle eventually shuts down in under 60 seconds all together. Also, just seconds after using the sink, any attempt at a hot shower is met initially with cold water, and when the valve is turned to hot only, the flow diminishes over 20 seconds to none whatsoever. Finally, no shower or sinks can be used simultaneously if any are on hot to warm water. The only contact made with the company this morning was with a receptionist who advised to rotate the bypass valve to the right, an effort which made impact whatsoever. Did I mention they charged $240 for this install? Highway robbery, poor customer service, and arrogantly careless service at its best. Disregard and disrespect good clients willing to support your business. Now THIS is how a company loses loyal clients and does their share to contribute to a weak economy! Kudos Culligan-Mokena, on a job not done correctly in the least. Poor quality, AND customer service at it's best. I won't ask for anything more. Disliked: Customer Service was non existant. Culligan of Mokena has been exemplary of keeping our rental unit running. The one problem is delivery schedule not followed as posted.

We had one of the best drivers until recently. Now, no one ever rings the doorbell, they leave the salt outside and run away, their horrible truck leaked oil all over my drive-way and the so-called manager NEVER returns phone calls. The rude lady who picks up the phone always claims there were no notes on my account. The notes were there for five years. Now they disappeared? Stay away!!! My family recently moved to Frankfort, and are new to well water. The salesman at Culligan was very helpful in identifying our needs, and offered us solutions that were extremely cost effective. The installation for was scheduled quickly and at a time that was very convenient for our busy lives. The installer was polite and professional, and answered all of my questions in detail. We also use Culligan for salt delivery, and he went over and above and actually put the salt into the water softener for me. I'd recommend Culligan for their expertise and customer service. Culligan is a great company- BUT the person in control of this region is a Rude, Unprofessional Creep who has his employees make promises that his equipment can not handle. Brand new fixtures RUINED- water in our house never run without their equipment and every faucet, tub, sink, washer, dishwasher and many items of clothing are ruined! Excuses after excuses- they forget to do this- they will try that. Spoke with the Operation Manager at Culligan's Corporation and even though there is another Culligan Distributor close to our home we can not use them- because this jerk owns this region. If you get Mokena Culligan as your region look to find a different company. I look forward to moving one day out of this area so that I can get Culligan without this owner! We are NOT the only people complaining! I got a apology from the Corporation- and have plenty of proof that this owner is a liar- and doesn't hire trained people to do their jobs- which we paid good money for! You guys are lucky reviewers can't give you zero stars. You seriously have the worst customer service. The guy that came over to my mothers house - oh I wish I knew his name - looked at it and immediately started fixing it without telling us what was wrong with it, what the part that was bad was called, and continued to ignore those questions being asked. We were not given the option as to whether or not to fix this part of our water softener, this imbucile just went right at it. Called culligan that same day and they said the manager was out in the field doing work. Called again the next day, and the day after that with the same response, leaving message after message. Finally a week later we get a brief call back saying sorry for the misunderstanding of the worker, but we still have to pay. Now, mind you, they just installed this brand new piece of equipment in June or July, and the part that wasn't working only took 3 months to break down. That is a manufacturer problem that NO CUSTOMER should be paying for. My mother got a bill in the mail for almost $200 for all of that. Don't ever go through this culligan read more
