This is a place I saw had good reviews,so I had to check it out as well, I was not disappointed! There was seating right away, the service was great right from the start. The selection is great! I ordered corn beef hash, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy on the side, what a great spread! Their house made salsa is on point, has a good kick to it, I usually dont even use salsa on breakfast foods.... but it was all over my eggs and hashbrowns.. sooo good! I never ran out of hot water for my tea, the server kept checking up on me often. The prices are very reasonable for what you get. Would recommend this place to anyone! Great job. read more

Quick and friendly service. Great cup of coffee and it was always full! The food was delicious. My friend and I couldn't decide between pancakes and eggs Benedict so we split the orders. The restaurant is very outdated and definitely due for an upgrade..Service was slow for our table (only 5) and a family of 8 came in 5 minutes after us and got their food 10 minutes before us!!..I wasn't too mad though because our waitress was friendly and kind but the food was very average and bland (they need a signature taste/food entree) ..I don't think I would come back. read more

YUMMMYLICIOUS!! This place has been around for a billion years and it's fabulous. It's family owned and operated. They used to be in a bigger space over by Carriage Center but now they are in a little strip mall...still in Poway. The food is gigantic and gets to your table in a new york minute. The omelets are the size of my head and chock full of whatever you want. Everything they have is delicious and could feed a third world country. Everyone there is super nice and makes your breakfast experience great. Bring cash because that's all they take. Definitely a must for weekend breakfast! read more

I use to frequent OPH for breakfast in Poway. But I decided to visit Cullys to change things up. My first experience was pleasant. I had two eggs over medium, sourdough toast, hash browns and coffee. The eggs were cooked properly, the toast was toasted well, the hash browns were pretty average but good and the coffee was mediocre at best. The price sans coffee was around 6 bucks which is very fair. The decor at this establishment is very odd. I try not to look around at the awkward amount of framed bird photos. If they had out door dining I wouldn't care. The gentleman who seated us wasn't very pleasant. The vibe I got here was that they like their regulars and don't care to get to know new clients. The second time I visited was much like the first but we had a very pleasant young lady who seemed more genuine than the first older gentleman. The third time I visited (about 2a weeks ago) was rather unpleasant. It was an older gentleman again. Again he wasn't very welcoming. We ordered the same plate as the first time. When we got coffee the gentleman poured it rather aggressively and splashed a good bit on the table. No apology, and he just walked away leaving us to clean his mess. The food came out and he explained that one piece of toast was charred (pretty much from the depths of hell) and asked if we wanted a new piece. Now, I am glad he offered us a new piece but who brings out food to a customer that isn't cooked properly? We also went long amounts of time for drink refills. I had to ask two separate people for coffee refill. Finally the young girl brings the pot over and poor's what is left. About two table spoons of coffee and a teaspoon of coffee grounds. Ten minutes later I had to literally stand up and wave my arms for more coffee. I never got it. I can normally put down 4 cups of coffee, this day i had 1.15 cups in the 40 minutes i was there. Let me reiterate, in the 40 minutes of being their i had to ask 4 or 5 times for coffee refills, i got one refill with barely enough for 1 sip. Even after standing up and waving my arms, they still couldn't seem to find me a cup of coffee. By far this is the worst service I have ever gotten at a cafe environment. Even Denny's can serve coffee well. Maybe they were upset that I ordered one of the cheaper breakfasts. I would rate this restraunt: 4/5 on food quality to price 1/5 on service and friendliness 2/5 on decor/cleanliness 2/5 on coffee quality Overall, if you can deal with poor and unfriendly service for a cheap but usually tasty breakfast try Cullys out. If service and coffee (plus refills) are important to you, try elseware. read more

4/5/13 - Last Saturday afternoon was my first experience at Cully's - what a treat! I am not familiar with Poway, but I was there for an appointment and needed to grab a bite to eat nearby. I found the right spot and enjoyed it so much I wanted to post a review. I was greeted, seated, and brought coffee right away by a very nice gentleman. I had the daily special which was a Sloppy Joe Omelette. It was so tasty - especially with the compliment of their house-made salsa. The food and the service were perfect. Even though I am not from the area it had a very comforting down-home feel which I very much appreciated, and whenever I happen to be passing thru Poway again I intend to go back! Update 4/13/13 - I really wish I could give more than 5 stars! I had the opportunity to go back today and it was another spectacular experience! Mitch had me laughing which is not an easy thing to do early in the morning. Mark remembered me from the 1 time I had been there before - he really made me feel and home and is so great to talk with. The staff was greeting so many people coming in by name and joking around with them. They create such a wonderful environment It feels good just to be in there. I had the Poway Omelette - it has cottage cheese, avacado, tomato, and I topped it off with their yummy salsa. Everything was perfect and I really look forward to going back when I next have occasion to be nearby. For those whom Cully's is local I an envious - you are so lucky!!!! read more

Cully's is not a chain of tasteless cafeteria type of food, its not the place to go if you want overpriced french food. Cully's is the place you take your family to enjoy home style comfort food.. Cully's is one of the few places you can get quality and quantity on the same plate. The biggest of eaters will leave satisfied, the smaller eaters will leave with togo boxes.. if you doubt the business come to Cully's after church and you will be inline.. the regulars know to come early.. my family have eaten at Cully's from 1995 at their original location.. as quality time with my parents becomes harder to see them during the week this is our Sunday breakfast meeting place.. time management is my key, my vehicles get washed next door while I enjoy my meal.. read more

Had a craving for a good ol' diner breakfast and Cully's delivered 100%. It was busy on a Sunday moring, but wait times for a table and service were still good. They made sure the coffee cup never dried up! Sausage egg and hash brown breakfast was great. Great find! The food was delicious and prices were reasonable. The decor is rustic but clean. We stopped for a late breakfast and had the Farmers Omelet with hashbrowns...delicious. Had the homemade salsa, with my omelet, which is one of the best I've had in my travels. The staff was also friendly and efficient. Such a cute restaurant! You would never know this place exists just from driving by. I've been in this plaza a few times for O'Reilly's and I've never noticed the restaurant. It's a very quiet and quaint spot. The interior and decor reminds me of a little mom and pop restaurant I used to frequent as a child. They were prompt in seating us, even with what seemed like a full dining room. They had a highchair readily available for our 9 month old daughter, and the waitress was quick to come over to take our orders after they served us drinks. When my husband ordered the buffalo burger, she told us they were out, but recommended the cheeseburger deluxe. And boy, was it deluxe. It was HUGE! I had the Eggs Benedict, and it was very good. The potatoes were seasoned well and not too soggy. For a simple brunch on a Sunday, it wasn't too expensive either! They're were polite, prompt, and it was clear they knew their regulars. On more than one occasion they called a customer by name and greeted them as they walked in. We'll definitely be returning. read more
