I grew up in San Diego and went to high school in Solana Beach and every senior lunch we would drive down to the original Board & Brew location on the 101 in Del Mar and have lunch because it was our favorite. It was my favorite then and it is still my favorite sandwich shop of all the options to this day. I live in Los Angeles now and sadly they don't have any of them up there, our closest one is Anaheim, so anytime I visit my family in San Diego I always stop in and get Board & Brew. My favorite is the Chicken Club Sandwich and add avocado. It just really hits every time but honestly, every variant I've had here is terrific, another favorite being the Turkado. The staff is always friendly and sandwiches are always made very fast. This location has a large free parking lot attached so finding a space was really easy. Inside is also really large so if you want to dine in that is an option but honestly, I always choose to go. I would highly recommend to anyone and would proudly say that it's one of the best sandwich shops in the US, definitely the best in San Diego. read more

Really enjoy these sandwiches but they've been getting my order wrong nearly every time the last few orders. And the sandwiches have the wrong shorthand on them like I ordered chicken ("cc") club but it was a Baja chicken inside the wrapper. They totally omitted the chicken club from the order and put the pastrami with a "bc" notation. I can't check sandwiches until I'm home and it's a bummer to go back to change it. read more

A wonderful surprise!! My husband and I had just taken the train down to San Diego. We were tired and cranky and just needed something to eat... so we stopped at Board and Brew. Angelina, the one woman wonder, was super helpful in directing us. I ordered the California Delight. It was a BIG sandwich and it was fabulous. My husband got the Baja Chicken sandwich and a draft beer. Angelina gave us this delicious dressing, as an extra- it was a weird orange color and perfectly enhanced our sandwiches.. We both loved our choices and will be back tomorrow to pick up sandwiches for the way back to LA. One of my local favs as I love the Turkado with a local hard kombucha. Sandwiches are always fresh and tasty. This week was a Bucha Hard Kombucha on tap - delicious. We enjoy stopping by to watch games here although the bar is tight the locals will always allow a few more to squeeze in! Still loving this place quite some time later. I'm even increasing stars from 4 to 5! I've tried the food since my last review and the sandwiches are amazing! My go to is the spicy beef dip. The weather is typically nice in the area so they open up the bar window/door to let in sunshine and fresh air, which is pretty cool. They never short you on your pours and choose some of the best beer to keep on tap. Shout out to Carlo (bartender) who always provides good service and professionalism. Literally never gets an order right, leaves me wondering how difficult it is to actually make a sandwich or maybe read an order it's really too bad because when they do get it right the food is really good but when you only get it right 50% of the time that's a big fail and that's exactly what this restaurant is in my opinion. Every other location I've been to in San Diego gets it right so maybe it has more to do with The Training than anything else either way I recommend checking your food before you leave because chances are you're gonna drive all the way home open it up and they're gonna be onions on your kids sandwich, even though you specifically said no onions. read more

$4 beers all December & all day, can't beat that! You order at the front, go to the bar for ur beer and then seat yourself. Beers and sandwiches are good sized and reasonably priced. Sandwiches come with their sauce which is like a delicious sweet and sour dipping sauce. You can also order a side of habanero sauce (which they don't advertise) but I love to mix it with their standard sauce and dip my sandwich in it. Super delicious! They also have a bunch of rotating beers on tap and always have a good tap selection, plus they fill their beers to the top each time. Baja chicken is my go-to sandwich. Ask for napkins at the front, they won't bring u any otherwise and it's easy to spill and need them. read more

I have figured out why Sweet Wheat is not written on the Board and Brew sandwich wrapper and "sq**w" is written in its place. Sq**w is actually in the Board and Brew computer system and printed out on the check #. I took a photo of the order # and my sandwich wrapper - TD Sq**w as proof that Sweet Wheat apparently isn't a confirmed option. I'll just have to go back to ordering a regular Turkey Deluxe than to be irritated when the sandwich is removed from the bag. read more

Had such a great experience at Board & Brew the other night. Josh behind the bar was awesome -- super attentive and just really on top of things. He kinda knew what we needed before we even asked, which was great. Carlo was also incredible. Right when we walked in he made us feel like regulars, even tho it was our first time there. We stopped coming because we always ordered roast beef and several times it was grisly but we have been ordering turkey lately and the sandwiches have been great. My only issues are the squash bread, it doesn't show up online to order and sometimes it's stale. When it's fresh it's the best, but if it's stale read more

We ordered on line and went for the pickup. Their Paseo Del Sur Sur location very close. The online ordering process was trouble free and intuitive. Broad & Brew is a SoCal sandwich shop that I would place about equal to Wich Which. Sandwiches were good value, no skimping on portions. I got the Roast Beef Spicy. The sandwich lived up to expectations. Meaty with a nice spice. I found the bread a bit go-hum. Typical soft/mushy industrial sandwich roll. Better bread would definitely add a star.
