Burgers were good, but the tomato slices were tiny, about the size of a 2 year old's palm. The fries were fine. Just fries. Nothing special. Onion rings were good and thick, but clearly not "homemade". The shakes were great. Wifey had the strawberry and I had cookies and cream. They're absolutely something to stop in for on a Saturday afternoon while out and about. All in all, it was a good meal, but I'm not sure it was worth the drive during rush hour on Friday night to get it. Better than most fast food, like McDonalds or Burger King, but I wouldn't say it's as good as what one can get elsewhere, like Johnny's.

The kiosk?), our total was $52. FIFTY-TWO DOLLARS. for 2 burgers, shakes, onion rings and water. These had better be the best damn burgers and onion rings I've ever had in my life at that price point. Here's the thing...the burgers were good. Just...good. Not outstanding, mind-blowing....just good. The shakes? Well, if you're going to make that the namesake of your business model, your shakes should be big and they should be amazing...but these were just middle-of-the-road, very very ordinary chocolate shakes. The onion rings were pretty good...a total of 6 onion rings, for $4.50. SIIX. Look, the food was fine, the service was fine, but the prices, especially in today's economy, were just over the top. If you don't mind blowing over $50 bucks for what amounts to slightly elevated fast food, then Shake Shack is probably ok for you....for me, it's just not worth the prices they charge. We enjoyed our first visit, but are unlikely to return as we didn't get what I'd consider a good value for our money. Had the total been $30, it probably would have gotten a higher rating and better review.

This was the start of my love affair that still runs hot today. Excluding mom and pop restaurants, Jersey Mikes is by far the best of all chain restaurants. Jersey Mikes located off in Olathe was my first ever experience with the chain and forever etched it into my favorite chain for Subs! The hallmark of any great subshop is first quality meats and secondly them slice them to order. While a lot of shops now slice their own meats and cheeses, I believe Jersey Mikes was the first chain to do so (check me on that if wrong but I worked at Subway in the 90s and we didn't). With this info always in my mind, I'm always confident that no matter what Jersey Mikes I go to, it will be consistent and the way I like it, b/c I always order in person)! Next, they do bake their bread so another huge win in my book as most just proof up frozen bread which is devoid of the little touches. Finally, the owner was there and was an extremely friendly guy and genuinely excited to take my order! I admit, I'm a cold sub fiend and you can keep the hot subs (sorry Philly). I've literally had every one of their subs but I hold true to the original Italian. Every time I get mine, it's literally a salad on bread. A little bit of onion, lots of lettuce, tomatoes, a couple pickles, 2 japs, S&P, Oregano, lots of mayo, lots of oil, a bit of vinegar but I wish they had olives..... Mine is perfection, brought on by my countless visits and endless tinkering. Good thing I don't work there! My kids got the ham and swiss with just mayo. Granted they're young but I'm not going to argue with them if they're happy. As for the Xwife (sorry a slight lag in writing this) she got the turkey & cheese with mayo, lettuce and tomato. While she didn't die..... she did love the sub (sorry dark humor there). It was our go to spot for many years. Also note they used to serve pizza! That's correct, they were one of 3 pilot Jersey Mike's to serve pizza in addition to the subs. I'll be the first to admit, I thought it was pretty darn good and smart to combine the two American favorites. Alas they no longer serve pizza so you'll just have to opt for one of the many other options (my advice is Detroit style with Italian sausage, onions, tomatoes, olives). Back to the point the whole family was happy. In summary, the store is very clean and safe, while the staff are very nice. Admittedly if you've been to one Jersey Mike's you've basically been to them all. So, I'm basically here saying the say thing as a repeated record as I've lived all over the place and travel frequently. This store is on par with all other locations so shop in confidence you'll get the best sub around!

We don't go places for the service, truly, if the food is solid then we're good. But he says that the workers have earbuds in and they seem actively unwelcoming. You don't know him, but I do- he's really not one to complain. He'd just like it if the atmosphere felt slightly less like an execution chamber. Neither of us is expecting employees to pretend to be HAPPY to see us.... But maybe being tolerant of his existence in your store is doable?
