Culvers is quickly becoming my favorite burger chain because they're always extremely nice and they send out awesome email coupons. This location is no different and had really friendly workers. As we were walking in, a few of the employees were coming back in from dropping off drive-thru orders and they made friendly conversation with us. We came at the peek of their lunch rush -- 12:30 on a Friday. Since my work is very particular about punching in and out on time, I was close to walking out after seeing the line. It was no worry for them though and I was able to order, scarf down my food, and deal with the Roosevelt Road traffic in exactly an hour. I went with the Pepper Pub burger basket combo with fries and a root beer. We had a buy one, get one free basket coupon, so my husband got pretty much the exact same thing except with cheese curds ($1.00 to upgrade.) Our total for two baskets with an upgrade was $10. Not too shabby. Last time I got the Pepper pub burger, it was waaaay too peppery--this coming from a person that would bathe in black pepper if I could. I asked for the sauce on the side so it didn't ruin it and this was much better. They forgot our sauce though, so we had to go back up and ask when they informed us that they'd poured it in cups but forgot to throw it on the tray. The guy that waited on us was really nice, although he was new because we had to repeat ourselves a few times. The manager was really quick to jump in and help without being rude or talking down to him. My food was fab as always. I'm really digging this new burger and I'm sad it's only limited edition. Their fries are some of my favorite and I'm really not a fry person. Overall, I'm really happy with the food and customer service at this location and I'll add it into my lunch rotation as much as my cholesterol allows. read more

I have had several unpleasant experiences at the Lombard Illinois location!!!! I have had old lettuce in my salads several times!!!! When ordering you need to ask for fresh lettuce , why I would think that's not a option. You wait forever to get your order . The last experience was in the restaurant I spent 5 minutes ordering a burger fries and a salad. The worker at the counter could not comprehend the order, the manager did not step in to help obviously she was not capable of taking a order, needless to we walked out frustrated!!!! We stopped here the other day for FREE pint, after donating a PINT of blood at Life Source blood bank in Villa Park. That makes 15+ gallons!! We bought a couple to take home and I had it two days later from the freezer and it was still good. I have been taking my kids here for over five years, not sure what is going on with the morning shift when it comes to food. In the last two weeks we go through the drive-through usually on Friday or Saturday morning before 12, and last week my buffalo chicken strips were undercooked. This week yesterday 9/12/20 we went again thinking it was a one-time thing, and about 10:50 went again to the drive though, we love their cherry Pepsi, anyway, got home with the food, and my son's regular chicken strips weren't cooked all the way through either. Last night both my kids had bad stomach aches, so if you're going there, avoid the morning shift, I heard night shift the food is much better. I have always thought Culver's was one of the best burgers to get for one simple reason: the famous "Butterburger" is the classic - it's delicious! Culver's offers burgers, chicken, and fish with a variety of sides. Cheese curds are the go-to side, whether you order a nice juicy cheeseburger, or a basket of fried chicken. The service is always great - the employees are always friendly and get you your food very quickly. The custard is amazing - they have tons of different toppings. This was a terrible experience. The place was extremely filthy. A girl was punching the pop vending machine because there wasn't any ice. The floors were sticky and tables were disgusting. A Saturday night in November when it's about 15 degrees out sounds like the perfect time for frozen custard, right? Just me, then? We were in the mood for something sweet and Culver's hit the spot. This one regularly has two flavors of the day (in addition to vanilla and chocolate) and you can get one of each flavor in a two-scoop dish if you want. Score. The custard is rich, smooth, creamy and tasty. And the workers are generally very friendly and courteous. And when it comes to fast food, I actually consider Culver's a step above; they have some very tasty options that are pretty fresh and healthy. My hubby and friend say I'm a bit overboard with Yelping, but I found a restaurant for us to dine at that was reasonable, clean and has service with a smile with the help of the Yelp app to see what was nearby - very handy. As for Culvers - this was my first visit to this one, and actually the first time that I had dined-in. I usually just go to the Culvers drive-through, out by Uncle in Matteson near Olympia Fields. It was just before supper time, but the place had a manageable crowd. The servers/cashiers were friendly, and didn't mind that I asked questions and had special request and that I ended up changing the order, (I think I was keeping the cashier entertained - there wasn't anybody else in line and really I didn't take too much time). I got the strawberry fields salad without pecans, which were subtracted from the bill. The drink area had a couple of drops of soda here and there, thus the reason for four stars otherwise if I could I'd give them 4 and 3/4 star, but otherwise everything was tidy. The floor was clean as were the table and window ledge, so I was a happy camper. The cashier brought our food over and so we dined and had agreeable conversation. Hubby had the chili, which he enjoy and my friend had the same salad as I, but with pecans. I didn't notice that there was blue cheese chucks throughout the salad - I'm sure they would have left this off if I had requested it, but hubby ate them for me as I am not a fan. There was also quiet music playing in the background from an oldies station and the flat screen had slides of their ice cream - that's why I wanted it so badly, (but I can't have it now). I'm not to fond of being pushed into buying something I wasn't even thinking about... Please don't play with my mind - I have too little to play with. :-) Great service, and smiles all around - even when we were leaving the cashier wished us a happy day. Nice touch. read more

I once had a problem with a drive thru order from this Culvers. That was once, and the apology I received from the (female) manager was above and beyond what is often the case at an upscale restaurant when something has gone wrong. The North Atlantic Cod filet is one of the absolute best fish sandwiches anywhere and it's worth every dime and every scrumptious bite. Same for the turtle sundae or turtle concrete mixers. What I also commend this Culvers for is employing 16 year olds. For many, this is their first job and first opportunity in the business world. It's nice to see management working with these young kids to teach them valuable lessons about customer service, working with each other and working with the public. Only been here a few times and I've only had the frozen vanilla custard. The custard is down right addicting and really does live up to my expectations every time I've had it. I feel for these fast food restaurants right now and the desperate need for quality workers that do a job to its full description. Honestly, everyone did a nice job today except for the person who delivered our food to our table. He was the same one who delivered MANY orders to drive-thru cars while we sat. It's very basic, the rules are the rules and they say you have to PROPERLY wear a mask. (I'm not getting into a mask debate-I'm just saying the rule on this day was state mandated). This man wore the mask under his nose the entire time delivering food. Normally, this would be a passable annoyance. However, on top of NOT wearing the mask correctly, it displayed a cotton ball plugging one of his nostrils. His total lack of following protocol during pandemic (even non-pandemic!) times completely grossed me out and I couldn't finish my lunch. It'll be a while before I return because of this memory. I feel the manger could have corrected the issue. This is the last face of your business your customers see! (Let alone the last face of the team of people that prepared the food you are about to eat!). I can't be the only one who noticed this today. I don't feel the love for Culver's that others seem to. I find the burgers to be rather bland. If not for the condiments, I'm not sure they'd have much flavor. I do, however, prefer a ButterBurger to sliders or mcburgers. The frozen custard is good compared to other fast food desserts, but is no match for premium ice cream or gelato. On the other hand, I think Culver's should get more credit for their Walleye dinner. It's as good, or nearly so, as any you'll get at a Friday fish fry. Today my friends and I walked Into Culvers looking to grab some food after a long day at Glenbard East High school. This is not our first time coming after school but today we were rudely greeted by the worker named Amanda telling us to get out if we didn't order but we were ordering. Then another student walked in to meet his friends and was told to leave and I quote "Dont let the door kick your ass on your way out". We are 14 year olds this is not the way you talk to kids. We are students that attend Glenbard East and as students we like to come here after school and get food to and do some homework. My friends and I were walking into Culver's and some worker very rudely told us if we don't buy stuff we have to leave although we were about to buy stuff. Another Glenbard East student also tried walking in and was told to leave! THE WORKER ALSO CUSSED AT US AND SAID "DONT LET THE DOOR KICK YOU IN THE ASS ON THE WAY OUT" This is outrageous!!!! Service : I have never been to a culvers before, and I made sure I told the worker that. The person that took the order was nice and patient. However, the person that gave me the food was not. Gave us the ice cream then said to pull around and someone will bring us the food. We waited for about 5 min as our ice cream melted, got the food, then went home to eat. Why not give it to us all at once? I do not want melted ice cream nor do I want dessert before the meal. Food : everything tasted bland except for our ice cream (which we threw in the freezer). I went in to Culver's yesterday for the first time which I cannot figure out why since I live so close. I thought it was okay. Since it was my first time I wanted to order everything but had to hold myself back. I ordered 2 double cheeseburgers, fries, onion rings and cheese curds for myself and my husband. I will say that this is a step above McDonalds but a lot more money. I really liked my burger, onion rings. I hated the fries they were way to thick for me and under done for my taste. The cheese curds just not sure about them I think I would have to try them again since I cannot make up my mind. What really stood out to me and would make me go back was this very young girl with long brown hair that was just the so sweet as she took my order. I'm not crazy about the meals here but I LOVE the frozen custard. The sign outside is so tempting as it always lists the flavor of the day- I wonder if there are any accidents with people craning their heads to see the sign as they drive past, or as people spontaneously decide to quickly turn in after being inspired by the flavor on the sign. A single serving is very reasonable (about $2.50) and they have creative and fun and delicious flavors that change every day (but repeat enough so your favorite will always be available pretty soon.) Every Tuesday is Turtle Tuesday. The chocolate eclair flavor is unique and very good. Strawberry bon-bon and chocolate caramel twist are also some of my favorites. In my frozen treatscapade, the Lombard Culver's offers me creamy delight with my choice of add-ins for a lip-smacking Concrete Mixer. I LOVE adding strawberries and bananas! Oh so smooth, tasty and easy on the mouth when you've had oral surgery. The fish I've had here was fried, so it lost personal points. Yet while I am not so enthusiastic about the rest of the menu, the salads, although pricey, really hit the spot. Don't go in here wearing a shirt for "Oinks Dutch Treat" or else you'll find yourself in a stifled conversation with the cashier. Maybe exclaiming your love for pigs at the Culver's register doesn't make a lick of sense. But I've found that the swelling sense of embarrassment positively correlates with how savory your custard tastes. DIG IN! read more

The tables were disgusting and the food was cold...since I arrived around noon, you would think the store would be clean. I think they let the high school kids destroy it. This is why I HATE drive-thru's!!! Three different times, 3 different places this week, every single order has been wrong. Of course, nobody is worse than Popeye's. Just came home from ordering chili supreme. I mean, how hard can it be? A small container of onions, a small container of cheese and a small container of sour cream. That's what I paid for.
