Edited: I've had a few decent experiences at Culvers, but today I stopped by for for my new guilty pleasure, a blackberry lemonade Chiller. I got into a small drive-thru line at 10:26. I know they were closing at 10:30, but there was one car ahead on I had one item. I sat at the box to order until 10:29 before someone came on and "we're closed" and shut off all the lights. My opinion on this restaurant is clearly in the minority; I did not like it at all. Everyone talks about how great it is and based on what I heard, I was under the impression that is was more of a fast casual/quick service place than fast food...that is definitely not the case. It was very busy which I took as a good sign, but I am assuming that due to how busy it was, the staff could not keep up and it was very dirty. And I was not impressed with the food either. While the burger did taste good and I like the fluffy soft bun, I could not get over the amount of grease/butter coming off of it. Usually if I have a 'drippy' burger it is caused from the juiciness of the burger, not lard dripping off of the bun. It was so messy I wish it came with a person to feed it to me so I didn't have to touch it. I also ordered the cheese curds and the only word I would use to describe the flavor was 'fried'. Even the teenage boy eating with me was not impressed at all and could not believe how greasy it was. He did order custard as well and he said that it is the best fast food custard he has had, but what is that really saying? Well, I tried it...and I will not be coming back. read more

Used to love this place until now. A friend and I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich 1 day apart from each other and got violently sick.

The food here is always great and the service is top notch. I continue to go here due to how awesome the staff treats its customers. I'm fairly new to eating at Culver's and so far I'm hooked. read more

Tried this brand for the first time Monday. The young woman taking the order was non-existent. She had no answers to any questions about the food. I would have been happier ordering from a touch screen. Lots of employees running around the place wiping tables and sweeping floors while I ate. The burger was just ok. Better than a Big Mac but not as good as a Red Robin. A little on the pricey side and not sure that in the end the extra price is worth what I got. I might or might not go back. read more

A group of 3 of us went there for the first time. We did know what to expect. We did check out the online menu so we knew what was available. We were not sure if this was a typical fast-food joint (they have drive thru) or if it was a sit down / waiter/waitress place. We go in around 6pm and they were semi-busy. A cashier pops out and says she can take us at her register. She very pleasantly takes our order, takes payment, gives us our drink cups and a plastic number plate to display at our table and says our food would be brought out to us. Our food was brought out in a very timely matter and was hot and good. We ordered burgers, fries, soup and grilled cheese. Everything was very good. Workers were pleasant and the price was pretty competitive as compared to typical fast food places. We'd definitely go back. read more

I praise the fast food gods for placing a Culvers not far from the house. Having tried most of the fast food chains, this one is number one (followed close by Sonic), Their cheeseburgers and onion rings are dangerously good. read more

As far as fast food goes culvers has to be the best in the industry. Every time I come to this location in Royal Oak the service is always extremely friendly and the food is delivered fast and the quality is always exceptional. read more

I had low expectations for this place because of who recommended it to me. I went here with my husband for dinner since we were in a rush. I had the pumpkin shake that was outstanding it was so creamy and had great flavor. The burgers are great for a fast food burger they are a but thin but all the flavors are there. The price is not too high for what you get. Their french frys were nice and fresh. We would go back if we needed something fast to eat. read more

Line at the drive thru was so long that our custard melted prior to them giving it to us. Instead of fixing the now soupy consistency custard, they decide to hand it to us. When there is more custard on the outside of the cone than inside it should not be handed to the customer. Better quality control needed! Did not ask for chocolate soup. read more

I just had the worst fast food experience possible at the Culvers in Madison Heights. 15 minutes to order, 20 minutes wait. No food. Went to talk to the manager "Shantey." They lost my order. Never apologized. I ask for my money back and it took them 20 minutes to do that. The worst. read more

I visited here for the first time tonight, and I will definitely be going back frequently. Absolutely delicious burgers, fries, and cheese curds. The butter on the burger, definitely makes the difference. Far superior in comparison to Five Guys. read more

Went to have a night out. I had gone to Culver's in Beaver Dam, WI and was impressed with the place. Courteous people, clean establishment. We went to M.H. And were greeted by ten people leaning against the back counter and it was somewhat intimidating. After placing order we were waiting with same people whispering and seemingly talking about the customers. We went and sat down and were brought our food but not together. Mine came five minutes later. The food seemed have been just thrown onto the tray, not like it had been served in WI. I will probably not go back. read more

I can get fried walleye for hubby... a salad / soup for me... fried chicken, corn dogs.... plus desert at a decent price. Something for everyone ! Also, quick, clean and courteous. I haven't tried the chicken yet, will update after dinner. read more

We eat there once a week, Tom the owner & Paul the manager both know us as frequent customers. Been to other Culvers but this one is by far our favorite. Friendly service which is rare for fast food. Only had an issue with the food once, it was immediately remedied. Fries are the best, other than fresh cut fries at another establishment.. Frozen custard is always a tasty treat. read more

I've been to this place a few times and now it's become a real favorite! Every time I have been there the people taking mine order are always very nice and helpful when placing an order on something I'm not sure about because it was a new item to me. The food is always good, delivered to my table in a good amount of time. The burgers are great and so are the deserts! I love this place!! read more

Culvers is my favorite place to come for lunch, my coworkers and I come here about once a week. Burgers are sooo good. Cheese curds are yummy (I read another review complaining 'they don't come with marinara sauce' but you need to ask for it, duh!! Same way you need to ask for ranch). I order the salads a lot too, Chicken Bacon Bleu is really good. Service is literally the best compared to any other fast food place. This place in particular is great, owner is always there. The employees always ask if you need anything else when they bring you the food. I will come back here time and time again! read more

I love the burgers and fries here! Always hot and fresh. The frozen custard sundaes are very good too. The small is more than enough and you get to add 2 toppings. Yum! Without a doubt, my favorite restaurant. We have eaten at the Madison Heights Culvers multiple times a week for almost two years. Of the dozens of times we have visited, I was only disappointed once and I want to say that the problem was corrected immediately by the management who cares about what they serve. The chicken tenders are the best I've ever eaten at any restaurant. The custard is terrific. Though the chart ways 'no waiters' this is an establishment where you order,are given a number, you pick a seat, and the food is brought to your table by a most agreeable server. If something is not right - say so and it will be taken care of. Nice menu, halfway between a full sit-down restaurant menu (dinners) and standard fast food (burgers, fries). The fried chicken is far superior to KFC. The fish dinners surpass your local neighborhood dive. They have mashed potatoes on the menu! With terrific gravy, what a treat. Good soups, also. You can get a cup or a bowl. Give it try - I did, after walking out my first time there as I didn't realize you order and sit down. If I'd never come back - how much I would have lost! read more
