Culver's is a welcome addition to the Meridian and West Boise landscape. Their burgers, cheese curds and custards are must-haves! This place really hits home for me, having grown up in southeast Wisconsin myself, although I have never experienced this place until it opened up here. While the food is much better quality than your standard fast food joint, we have noticed that the service has been hit or miss lately. Depending on the day, we could have amazing service with the people making sure things are correct but on other times we could be ignored, rushed through the drive thru, or have the order come out incorrect. While it is hard to entirely blame the company for the service inconsistencies being as it is difficult to recruit and hire folks actually willing to work these days, one has to wonder if these folks receive consistent training. Another disappointment is the fact that they now charge 35 cents each for fry sauce. Again, one can understand keeping up with inflation, but why can one get the same fry sauce for free at McDonald's or Burger King? We are big fans of Culver's and will continue to support them, but with the competition getting tougher as more fast food options open up in the near future, we hope they can get the issues worked out before it is too late. read more

Came thru the drive through tonight. I was the only person there in drive thru and ordered 2 shakes and one fry. Had to wait 15 minutes for my order and both shakes were the wrong shakes. Then had the audacity to make me give them back the shakes they made wrong so they could throw them in the trash. Terrible service. Waste of my time. Can't believe they didn't even offer me any compensation for their own mistake of making my order wrong. We heard about this place and how the butter burger, Wisconsin cheese curds and the custard were what they were known for. We tried this establishment yesterday for the first time. I ordered a single butter burger but got a double and was charged for a double. Didn't appreciate that. Also ordered the cheese curds and regretted getting the large. The curds were so salty, they were inedible. I loved the hamburger, however, but could only eat half of it because it was just too much for this little old lady. After coming here I can positively say, Culver's has THE BEST concrete mixers. I would say that this fast food restaurant is very clean and peaceful. It was cool that you could order at the front then sit down and they would bring the food out to wherever you sat. I also enjoyed the online ordering via table QR code. On a warm day, my husband, our little girl and I decided to stop by Culver's to get some frozen custard. Because the drive through line seemed a bit long, I decided to go inside to order while my husband and our little girl sat at a table outside. But anyway, I ended up purchasing: Vanilla Frozen Custard + Waffle Cone- After I ordered my item, I was given a number. I found a booth and sat because I wasn't sure if the employee who brings me my frozen custard would know to find me outside. About 5 minutes after I ordered, my order was brought out to me and then I went outside to join my husband and our little girl. I was surprised to see chocolate syrup on the frozen custard, when I was not asked nor had I requested to have any (I picked vanilla because I thought it would be okay to share with our little girl since she loves eating frozen custard and ice cream too. She is definitely a foodie too. When I have ordered frozen custard from another Culver's location before, it was not served with chocolate syrup). The employee who brought me my order was very friendly. Anyways the frozen custard was good. Just the perfect texture, creamy and just perfect for the warm day we visited. A good portion to share with another or 2 (including a cute little dog). Man am I bummed! I'd been drooling and dreaming over Culver's famous Butterburgers and ice cream for months now and finally decided to brave the Eagle Road Rage plus lunch-hour traffic to satisfy my growling belly. Unfortunately, the experience was quite the opposite of superb. My disappointment has nothing to do with the long time I waited. I totally understand this was to be expected considering the time of day. What is frustrating is waiting 25 minutes for tasteless, bland food. I thought Culver's was better than that! I was by myself and hate wasting food so I passed on ice cream this time figuring this would be the first of many visits. But now I'm not so sure if I'll return. I ordered the ButterBurger Cheese with Crinkle Fries ($7.79 for a combo meal). The burger features two never-frozen beef patties, american cheese, pickles, onions, lettuce, tomato and some kind of mayo-based sauce. While the ingredients did taste fresh, there was zero flavor. My taste buds were confused! Even drenched in their just-okay fry sauce hardly added any kind of pizzazz. The same went for the fries. Hardly salted, and didn't provide any kind of taste. At least they were crispy. Sadly, I only ate about half the burger before setting it aside, and maybe about 7 fries. My high-metabolism blesses me to be able to eat virtually whatever and not feel guilty, but I couldn't even do it with this meal. My conscious felt bad even with just how little I ate. A waste of calories, time and money. And did I mention - I absolutely HATE throwing food away. Thank God it was only $8.00. Will I go back to try the ice cream? Was that my greatest mistake to omit it this trip? I don't know. I don't want to wait 30 minutes during rush hour for ice cream I may/may not enjoy. Sigh. Oh well. Culver's is a fast-casual restaurant aiming for quality over speed. They have a large menu of choices and serve chocolate, vanilla, and the flavor of the day frozen custard. I found this to be a very friendly restaurant to take the family. Their fish and chips is great! Flaky and freshly made. They have burgers similar to Freddys, but a little thicker. Well trained staff abs super perky. Burger was fresh (as they advertise never frozen) and had great taste and texture but it was so thin the bun to meat ratio was off. I saw a billboard advertising custard at Culver's on Fairview so Sherry and I decided to give this a try to cool our pallets after some Thai food. The menu was confusing (how do I order *just* a custard without toppings, extras, etc.) and the cashier seemed to be just as confused because she couldn't explain it either. Sherry finally got it figured out (look at the bottom of the menu for the version without all the extras). The custard was served in scoops in a cup, different from the softer custard served at Freddy's. Our initial impression was the same: when we first tasted the custard at Freddy's we both though "Wow, this is really good!". Here, it was just good. By first glance Culver's is an extremely clean fast food restaurant. I lean towards restaurant because of the nice dining area and the amount of people eating in. You'll find it very similar to Chick-fil-A in terms of seating arrangements. Booths, tables, and a few high tops. The food: this is where by appearance the food takes a hit. The burger came out a bit wet on the bottom and a bit greasy looking. My heart skipped a beat looking at it, but in reality the food didn't taste too heavy and it has a good classic taste. Id most attribute it to Dairy Queen, but better. Overall I think this place is pretty sweet for the price. The staff is well trained and courteous. Delicious, very thick, requires strong sucking to get moving.
