Korean BBQThey toned down on the shredded cabbage and the sauce in the korean bbq burger. Everything balanced out much better than what I remember, and I could actually taste the kimchi inside this time. The meat was cooked to a nice medium, and travelled well in our to-go order. Soft Shell CrabThey put two whole deep fried soft shell crabs in one burger. Topped off with a lot of arugula, bacon and tomatoes. It was good, but not quite as balanced out as the Korean BBQ burger. I'm not quite sure what it is... Lacking some sauce?Overall, the place had some great burgers and I would definitely go back more often that I have recently. But there's a little bit missing still to give it a whopping 5 star review. Plus the buns were really bready... a little less dough would have been nice. And on the downside... the fries weren't awesome. They were ok. But felt more like baked fries than deep fried. In any case, I love improvements and having great joints in my neighborhood. After a while, he came back over and decided he wasn't annoyed any more. He proceeded to engage in conversation with us until we left. The food is great for bar food, but the service is not the best to say the least.

Nice and crispy, almost had an airfried texture to it so it tasted healthier than others that I've tried -Bomb Butter Burger $14 - The meat was very juicy and overall a good burger -Milwaukee Burger $12.50 - This was a fantastic burger and I think I preferred this to the Bomb Butter Burger. The flavors were more balanced IMHO -Tater Tots and Fries: The burgers all came with a side and I enjoyed both! They were freshly fried and served hot. The tots made me feel really nostalgic since those were things I remember eating growing up. The unfortunate news is that this restaurant despite all the accolades will be closing later in 2025. It's served Milwaukee for 16 years and while I'm bummed that they'll be closing their doors later this year I'm glad that I got enjoy one of Milwaukee's best. And it's located in the basement of the UWM union. That's right... a full bar on campus! "Work hard, play harder" is often exhibited here by students and professors alike. The G-Haus, as I fondly refer to one of the highlights of my grad school days, isn't just an exclusive UWM club. It is open to the public and it's definitely a hidden gem if you have never been and happen to be at UWM or in the area. The drinks are cheap and well poured, and the food is inexpensive and pretty delicious. They have a rather extensive menu - appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, salads, and deep fried goodies. Portions are large and everything is cooked to order so it's always hot and fresh. The restaurant is actually divided into two halves; the front is brighter and has more seating than the back. This is normally where the undergrads and under-agers hang out. The back portion is the "bar" area, the lights are dimmed and there is a pool table. This is typically where you'll find the grad students contemplating their decisions in life and fretting over their astronomical work load. They rarely card for seating in the bar area unless it is a very busy evening. There is plentiful seating -booths, table, and at the bar. If you've never been, I suggest gathering some friends for a Sunday Funday. It's generally slow on Sunday and there aren't as many pesky students hanging out here as they do Monday thru Friday. Don't expect the fastest of service if you come in a big group, only a couple of the student workers are able to serve alcohol. Also for faster service, order your food at the food register that all the employees can work and drinks from the bartender. Bring cash for tips or hit up one of the no-fee atms on the 1st floor for cash. Plastic is accepted but they are unable to accept tips from credit cards. Parking in the Union structure is also free on Sundays!!! Hours/dates of operation coincide with the school year. The Gasthaus is closed over summer as well as during breaks. Definitely call or check the UWM website for up-to-date hours. Other schools have their spot that serve up grill-style food. What really makes the Gasthaus unique is the fact they have full bar; not many school have such an establishment on campus. It's so wonderfully Wisconsin!!!

Jumping to 1975, a 17-year-old employee named Peter purchased the shop with a loan from his football coach (also a local banker). Since then, Peter has expanded to more than 2,800 locations and is still the CEO. Long story short, I almost always go with a cheese steak whenever I go to a sub shop. Jersey Mike's offers a few different cheese steak options, but I went with the Big Kahuna. The term comes from the Hawaiian word kahuna, which means "priest" or "healer". Big Kahuna is typically used today as an informal idiom that refers to the most important thing or person in a group, like the boss (or in this case, boss of the subs). The Big Kahuna sub comes with grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, jalapenos, and extra white American cheese. Jalapenos are a love it or hate it topping. I side with the haters, so I ordered my sub without them. My sub had some weight to it and was also bursting with the amount of filing. The savory slices of steak, heaps of peppers/onions, and mound of melty white American cheese dominated the sandwich with the mushrooms being much less prevalent. I'm a true Wisconsinite in the sense that I can never have enough cheese and add it to many of the foods I eat. That being said, I was satisfied with the amount of cheese on this delicious sub. Popped in to grab a coffee and get some work done. Staff were super friendly and brought my latte out to my table. Wifi was free and speedy. I didn't get anything from the food menu but danggg do they got options! I'd love to try their sammies or wraps for lunch, but even just the bagels and breakfast goodies looked good. Regretting I didn't snag something on this trip. Though it's a big place with plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor on their vast patio, it still offers a cozy feel. I'll give it another go sooner than later!

The wrap was a very small portion, it tasted good but was surprised by size. The inside was nice a big with lots of sitting but does fill in quick. The staff was quick at clearing and cleaning tables.
