I personally love the food here as well as the frozen custard, but for some reason around 2/3s of the time I go my order gets messed up, I always order a burger with ketchup, pickles and onions but they almost always put mustard on it. Now to me mustard it one of the most disgusting things on the planet and if there is as much as a tiny dab of mustard I am unable to eat my food. read more

This place (Culver's) is in a league of it's own when it comes to food, service, and smiles. Every One I have been into I have found the people are happy about there job. Nice to see in this day and age. They offer service with a smile 110% of the time. The food is always good and the daily specials are good values. Just realized I had yet to review the BEST Culver's location--what have I been thinking? Maybe I feel more chatty when restaurants tork me off... with this place I'm just fully satisfied. We live a good 25 minutes away, but I regularly call Culver's of South Elgin to order fried chicken for family events and football team dinners. The owners and staff are just super to work with, and the chicken is flavorful and moist without being overly greasy. On an occasion when my wait was long, they apologized and offered pints of custard for my trouble. Of course the chicken is just one of many fabulous items (but perhaps the least known). Burgers, fries, and custard desserts are all satisfying and consistently great. I hate the idea of paying for "fast food" burgers when I could be eating Culver's. Battered cod is also a favorite. When I repeat at a restaurant, whether a dive, a drive-thru, or a destination, I want to know the food and experience will be as expected. This location gets five stars for consistently wonderful, friendly service, and consistently tasty food. read more

I have been coming to this Culver's for years now and I can say that the food as well as the service always makes me come back wanting more. However my experience today was unlike any other I've had in the past. This worker named Alex I believe, took my order and as I was trying to enjoy my meal with my family I was horrifically interrupted by the sound of him talking loudly by the side of the front desk. Afterwards I went back up there to order a concrete mixer only to find out he was a manager!! I was baffled at the thought of a manager behaving in such a way that would cause a distraction to loyal customers such as myself. I have never had any other problems in my past at Culver's so I guess this just leaves me to assume that it was just this faulty manager named Alex who made my experience at Culver's upsetting. So a fair warning to anyone planning dining at the Culver's in South Elgin: bring ear plugs or save your auditory hearing and go dine someplace else. read more

Love the food, my sister and i bought cheese burger meal and the meal came with a voucher that gave you a free scoop of ice cream. My sister got chocolate with snickers topping. Then i ordered vanilla with oreo topping, the lady said i have to charge you 90 cents extra. I know it was free but the point is that, they need to be consistent with their voucher. After a long train ride and a bit of shopping, I decided on the Culver's in South Elgin. Some light banter at the drive-thru window. Ordered Pork Tenderloin Sandwich with pickles ketchup and salt, mixer twix and Reese, Chocolate base, and cheese curds, which i do love. Now I haven't been back to the Culver's in Carpentersville, for nearly a year due to their lack of standards. But this is a different store probably owned by some other family, so give them a go. Cheerful greeting, took my payment asked if I wanted a receipt, All going great, cant wait to rip into those cheese curds. A gentleman coming from probably the mixing frozen concoction delivers my mixer, when my hand comes in contact with the cup, my hand went from a clean unsticky hand to a chocolate infused hand, he then retreats without even watching the my response. To make matters worse, the drips down the side of the cup have ended on my dress shirt. Way-to-go from a great evening, happy and excited to unhappy and sticky. Credit is due to one of the people on the floor, when I held the beverage out the window graciously taking the beverage back and wiping it down and offering me a napkin. I get home open my tenderloin sammich, only to my surprise, of 3 tiny pickles, and so much salt that I know know what a salt lick tastes like. So i filled out the survey on my receipt, and MARK calls me just a few minutes later, only to tell me how sorry he was, and explaining that he has spilled things on his crew gear and it has always come out. Not what I wanted to hear, but I was so unhappy, at the lack of care in his tone, that I will never go back and wanted you all to start watching for the service your paying for, but attending a these establishments, there are literally hundreds of eateries in just a few miles of Randall road, Who Wants my business? Sorry Culver's you lost. Enjoy your Restaurateur's folks, and tip those heroes that give great service. read more

I went here today for my lunch break. I waited quite a while and then one of the employees came outside, and yelled at me to "Move your car, IDIOT" I was completely shellshocked and I proceeded to call out asking if "you really just called me an idiot, ma'am?" but the female employee just ran away and back inside the building. Next the assistant manager came out (bless his soul) and I informed him what had happened, he was super professional and not only calmed my nerves but refunded me. Being an ex-employee of one of serena's culvers' myself I have never been more appalled in my entire life, to the point where I want to go talk to her myself. Absolutely disgusting behavior and the fact that I then came into the restaurant and the offending employee was off hiding somewhere was even more disturbing. Thank you management for being great and doing your job, but I hope you handle employees that act like they don't want a job accordingly. Never had an experience like this ever. Smh. read more

I ordered four chicken tenders and after standing there for 15 minutes, my boyfriend went up and asked what happened to the order. The girl rang it through again and we were there for another 10 minutes. Waited in the lobby for 25 minutes. All I ordered was 4 chicken tenders, not even the basket. Though this was negative, I have to say that the girl named Taylor who was making ice cream was a sweetheart and very kind to me. read more

Pretty frustrating experience at this Culver's location. I had to keep reminder the girl that took my order about drinks, sides, and desserts that came with it. She just kept asking if that was all so I had to remind her of the menu items. It was a cold and rainy night so I went through the drive thru but they forgot to put in 1/3 of my order so I had to go back inside with my 1 year old and get the food they forgot. Overall the menu prices are as high as a sit down restaurant and the service was really lacking tonight. read more

place was,a pig sty, most tables were dirty and needed to be wiped down, pop station was sticky, I myself threw dirty lids and napkins away, floor pop muchine,was,a sticky mess.2 of 3 ketchup dispensors were empty. no mayo or mustard. packets as in others Culvers. food tasted fine however. woman's bathroom was a disaster. paper towel bin overflowing onto the floor, blue soap from dispenser all over the vanity counter and toilets were let's just say, gross. I asked for the Mgr and was told he's not here now. this place needs help. read more

If there was a button for zero stars I would give them 0. My boyfriend and I came in at about 8:30pm, and ordered two of there new pretzel bun burgers, both with no pickled onion, we waiting about 5 minutes and we go our food. Both of us had onions on our burger and my boyfriend said it didn't matter to him but I asked him if he could go ask them to make a new one, and so he went up there and asked VERY politely for them to remake it and there was no problem! so he came back to the table and after waiting roughly 5 mins for my new burger i told him to go ahead and eat with out me and so he went to take a bite and the bun was COLD! It felt like they just took it out of the fridge. So he went up again and asked politely for them to remake the food and after waiting about 10 more mins for both of our food we decided we just wanted to leave and asked for our money back and the manager refused to give us our money back and insisted on remaking our entire order AGAIN, and after another 10 mins we were still waiting there and the manager walks up to us and just starts staring at us for a good 45 seconds and doesn't say anything, and then we asked him what was going on and he asked us how can i help you, and we had to ask AGAIN for our money back and he told us NO i just remade all of your food you don't need your money back!!!! at that point we were both so angry we took the food and walked out! never have i ever been so disrespected as a customer before, and i have been on his side of the table as a manager and i for a fact know the customer is always right even when they aren't! I will never be visiting this culver's again and i REALLY hope this manager gets a talking to. read more

I love the Culvers in Saint Charles. I love Culvers in Wisconsin. This twin brother is the black sheep of the Culvers family in my opinion. Where do I begin....5 or 6 visits and we've had a problem with each visit. They short our order. We have to go back. We call ahead for the fried chicken dinner ( because it takes twenty minutes), we get there in 20 minutes and have to wait another twenty minutes. The chicken comes out like leather because of over cooking. We go back after the owner sent us free coupons and they screwed that order up. Went back yesterday and ordered a burger, fries and a shake. Wait 10 minutes for the food and out it comes without the shake. The guy says the shake will be right out. 10 more minutes and the food is cold and still no shake. I have to call the restaurant ( since I'm sitting in the drive through lane but not near the window). They say they didn't know anything about a shake. I had the receipt which clearly shows the shake. 5 more minutes to get the shake. They gave me two chips for two free custards. To bad I won't be using them at this place. The owner needs to have staff meetings where he teaches his staff CUSTOMER SERVICE. learn how to talk courteously with customers. Teach them to DOUBLE CHECK orders. Nothing like driving back to STC and finding your order is wrong. No, the customer isn't always right, but they are ALWAYS YOUR CUSTOMER. Making a customer feel like he or she is going to cheat them out of a $5. hamburger when it was YOUR staffs fault is a great way to lose customers. It's better to comp a burger than lose a customer. And being a senior citizen, I don't need to screw Culvers out of a $5. dollar burger! Get your act together... Do I have stupid written across my head? We went back to Culver's South Elgin today. Simply order. 1 Butter burger no cheese, 1 Butter Burger with cheese, and a small fry. What do they do? 2 butter burgers with cheese, and charge us for a double burger. This place just can't get it right. And the kid( Michael ) who was the shift leader accuses us lying about ordering this. I've learned my lesson. This is the best place for the daily flavor ice cream! I had the caramel cashew yesterday and thought I heard the ice cream angels singing! LOL Honestly, it was the best ice cream I have ever had. Wow! You want to talk about one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a fast food restaurant.... @ Culver's in South Elgin by the Goodwill Donation Center has to top the list. It started off with me standing in line for over 20 minutes and then when I went up to order a young gentleman assisted me, I ordered a burger with cheese curds when I asked for a drink the young man got angry because I should have asked for a value basket. I was a little perturbed but was going to let it go until I asked if I could have ketchup and he rolled his eyes and pointed by the drink machines. I asked if thats where the packets were and he said no. I got very upset and asked his name so I can call corporate and he stated this is a franchise so there's no corporate. I then asked for his name and he stated it was Kevin which I wasn't sure if that was even his name. I then asked to speak to the manager and thats when the real fun began. As I was explaining my situation to her she kept brushing me off with her snarky remarks. I asked for her name because I was going to send a letter to Corporate, she stated that she wasn't going to give me her name and her Culvers coat was covering her name tag so I couldn't see it. I told her I was calling corporate and writing a letter to the owner of the establishment and she stated and I quote 'well he's in Wisconsin and he is my dad' I then proceeded to tell her if I was her father I'd be ashamed of the way she presented herself and the way she treated customers. She then advised me I would not be getting my food and to leave. This place is ridiculous and I will never go there again, sure they wont mind but I'm hoping no one else has to deal with this. oh and by the way when I walked out Kevin told me that her name was Serena or something to that effect. read more

I am writing this because I am in a bad mood, why? because I didn't have any lunch. Why didn't I have lunch you ask? because I got screwed at the drive through of Culver's in South Elgin. I ordered a "hamburger" not a Cheese burger. Why is it that the entire fast food burger industry cannot understand the difference. When and why did the default become "with cheese". It is completely my fault for not checking the order before I left. It was wrong of me to assume someone who works at a burger joint would know the difference. I once got a hamburger, ordered "no cheese" and when I looked at the receipt the description was "cheese burger with no cheese" - really? Some people may call that a hamburger. Unfortunately I don't have time to go back and get what I ordered, so I must go with no lunch and I have to coach a baseball game after work - i don't get to eat until I get home at 9pm. So thank you Culver's! In summary, A Hamburger does not have cheese on it, a cheese burger does have cheese on it, get it right!
