Good food and good service. Love the crinkle cut fries! Menu is better and more diverse than most fast food places

Decided to dine in at Culvers for dinner. This has been our go to for the last couple weeks up until this visit. The inside wasn't too busy so we were able to order right away. We didn't wait long before our food was delivered to our table. We got two kids meals and also a chicken sandwich and fries. Everything was tasting fine up until my chicken sandwich had a mushy spot in the middle. The texture and color was completely off compared to the rest of the sandwich and made us concerned. I brought it back up to the front to let them know to see if anyone else had that problem and if we could switch it for something else. The manage ignored my concern about the texture of the meat but said we ate too much of the sandwich and couldn't do anything about it. Which is fine but I believe the quality of the food should have been taken seriously. read more

Oh, dear Culver's. I'm sorry I've neglected giving you the Yelp love you so richly deserve. You're bright and clean inside, with the most pleasant staff. You always get my special order cod sandwiches (no tartar sauce) right. The sides-especially the onion rings, cheese curds and pretzel bites with cheese dip-are consistently so good! And the custard and other desserts-are so wholesome and homespun. My parents are from the upper Midwest, I lived in Minnesota for years. Your Wisconsin kindness and earnestness shines in everything you do. And I appreciate you for all of it-and your consistent high quality. Every Culver's I've ever been to is pretty much the same which is a good thing. This particular location is friendly, and efficient. The food is always fresh and HOT. The customer service here is good and the drive through is often busy especially in the evening. To save time you can order online and pickup when you arrive. read more

This place is not like fast food places. The atmosphere is really comfortable and the service is excellent. Their hamburgers are SO tasty that it almost felt like I was eating a really tender steak. All the condiments on my hamburger were so fresh, pressed in an amazingly yummy hamburger bun. You have to try their frozen custard as well. I guarantee you that you will be amazed. read more

I honestly wasn't expecting much when I came. I figured it would be like any other fast food chain, but boy was I wrong. The double butter burger with all the toppings was delicious! We had a bunch of coupons as well, which brought the price of two double burgers to less than $5! That plus we had coupons for free Concrete Mixers, which is their ice cream flavors mixed with various toppings (basically a DQ Blizzard). Honestly, I even make the trip just for the ice cream, but everything I had was great. As we sat inside, I was impressed with how clean the location was. There were lots of clean tables and seating. My husband and I went the Culver's on Falkenburg after seeing many commercials that make the food look delicious. We each ordered the 2pc cod dinner with onion rings ($0.60 up charge) and a drink ($2.89 up charge) so our total bill was $$35.37 which was a bit higher than we anticipated paying. The food was not good at all. The fish was over coated and extremely greasy. The onion rings were so thin we pealed the coating off to find a sliver of onion which provided no onion taste whatsoever. As a FYI....Never order a single burger from any Culver's. I think its a sin that they actualy have them on their menu. So glad to have finally tried Culver's after watching reviews on YouTube. I would say they provide restaurant quality burgers at fast food prices. The packaging is extremely cute and everything was wrapped securely with attention to detail. I enjoyed the spicy chicken burger A LOT. It tastes like real chicken. It was seasoned well, had a good texture and the bun was delicious. I had a small milkshake with whipped cream and strawberry pieces and it was to die for! My fiancé let me try one of his beef burgers (the butter burger) and it was yummy. It has a rich, broiled taste and the bun goes perfectly with it. They provided sauces and napkins, and online ordering was a breeze! I highly recommend Culver's! read more

I've heard of a lot of people raving about Culver's so today I decided to try it out while I was in Brandon for work. I went through the drive thru as I was pressed for time. They gave me a number to put in my car as I waited after putting in my order so they could bring out the food which is something I've never seen before. It is not as fast as other fast food places as I waited in my car for about 5 minutes. The food looked good however when I got the receipt, I realized it cost almost $15. I was so sure that they made a mistake I called the store 4 hours later to check and make sure the pricing was correct. For the value I feel like the taste of the grilled chicken sandwich was comparable to McDonalds. The cheese curds were not the best in my opinion from ones I've had in the past. I did not feel Culver's lived up to my expectation from what I have heard others say. read more

Cheddar and bacon, mushroom and swiss, the deluxe, and several sourdough melts. The fries are crinkle cut and delicious. They are known for Wisconsin cheese curds. These are fried cheddar cheese balls. Besides the burgers, they have sandwiches such as cod fish, pot roast, reuben, grilled chicken and pork. You must save room for desert. They are famous for their frozen custards and shakes, all made from Wisconsin dairy. There is plenty of parking and a drive thru. A co-worker had mentioned to me that Culver's was Tampa's rendition of Friendly's in Orlando so I decided to go check it out since Friendly's was an all time favorite restaurant of mine in Orlando. It's definitely a fast food restaurant and you can tell by the drive-thru. You order at the cash register and take a number and then they deliver the food to you at your table, that was nice. I got the Bacon Butter burger and the Snack pack Swiss butter burger and it was definitely just okay. The burgers were dry BUT the fries were delish! I also got the flavor of the day on Monday which is the Oreo Chocolate Custard and it was good. It's not something to rave about but it's a good fast food joint nearby. I wouldn't mind going again but it does not top Friendly's or is even close to it. The staff is very knowledgeable in their menu and the choices so that was good. 6/10 for me! read more

What a great, affordable burger joint! New to Brandon / Tampa, this eatery boasts a a wide selection of burger and chicken items sure to please any appetite. They have drive-thru service as well as dine-in. When ordering in, you're given a number and they bring your food to you. I was pleased to hear, multiple times, questions of customers if they needed anything else from the staff, even though they were merely food runners and not waiters. An extensive ice cream menu includes cones, dishes, and "blizzard" type mixers of ice cream and treats. I had to have an ice cream sundae to finish my meal. The burger was juicy and delicious, and the fries were crinkle-cut : my favorite. This quickly prepared food tasted anything but fast food, and the price was still compatible. I would normally leave 5 stars because my wife and I loved their food, however, today's experience was bad, very bad. I ordered my wife's burger with no cheese as normal. I waited and waited as the cars around me got their food and drove off. I finally got mine and returned home. Her burger had been made with cheese and instead of remaking it they had scraped the cheese off and rewrapped it and put it in the bag... the cheese was still in the wrapper and you could still see residual cheese on the burger. Who does that?!?! Also our onion rings were burnt. Horrible experience and we are questioning if we will return. Scrape off the cheese and repackage it with the melted cheese still in the wrapper?!?!? read more

**Update** I decided to give Culver's another try after seeing commercials about their fried Atlantic Cod. My mother had an appointment nearby, and this was the perfect spot to wait out the "Crosstown to Lumsden" rush hour traffic (which totally sucks BTW). I'm glad to report that this was a way better experience than previous visits. This was actually my first time dining in at this restaurant. All the other visits were for takeout or by drive through ordering. First of all, the restaurant is very clean. They get extra kudos for that. I believe I noted that in my previous review. Anyway, we knew what we wanted but just couldn't decide between the Atlantic Cod and the Fried Shrimp dinner. We decided to get both and split it between the two of us. The dinner comes with 2 sides. They had some very good options. I got the green beans and crinkle fries. Mom got the coleslaw and mashed potatoes with gravy. We took our number to the table with our drinks. Our dinners were served not too long after that. They were hot and delicious. The cod was of good quality. It was tender and flaky white fish coated in a crispy batter. I would definitely order it again. The shrimp was butterflied and fried. The breading on the outside was crunchy, and the shrimp had a nice flavor. I'd love to see a shrimp and cod combination dinner as a menu option. That would be my only suggestion. Oh, and the sides were very good. The green beans tasted fresh (as if they were steamed), and had a good buttery taste to them. Definitely not canned. Mom really liked her sides as well. I also got a small strawberry milkshake. It wasn't as good as the one at Berry Barn or Parksdale, but it was still pretty good. I think my favorite part of the whole visit was when the lovely lady in the dining room (I wish I could remember her name) offered us a free sample of the custard flavor of the day. It was Oreo Cheesecake day, and it was amazing! The Oreo cookie was crunchy (not soggy), and there were chunks of cheesecake mixed into the custard. Oh my, I'll have to get a cup of that next time. It's like a Steak & Shake burger, but not as tasty. I won't be ordering it again. The cheese curds were equally as tasteless. I think the only item I liked was the flavored custard of the day. It was some kind of mint chocolate chip with mint icing. That was very good. I'd go back just for the custard ice cream. I did notice that they have a pork tenderloin sandwich that looks like a schnitzel. I wish I had seen that on the menu before ordering. I don't know, I may give this place another try. Today was my first time coming to this location and my second time ever visiting a Culver's. I went through the drivethru on a Saturday evening and the amount of appropriate time that we waited was roughly 20 minutes. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich which was really good but was lacking something. Maybe next time I'll add mayo and hot sauce! It wasn't spicy enough for me. The milkshake was good but it was given to me without any whipped cream. I've never had to ask for whipped cream in my shake before. The fries were good but not very hot. I like that the food wasn't as greasy as some other fast food restaurants. I didn't like that the push Pepsi on you as a drink choice while ordering. I politely declined twice for our two orders so I saw that it was a trend. Maybe a partnership between Pepsi and Culver's?!?! I don't know. Have visited Culver's a few times and haven't had any bad experiences and the service is awesome. I'm just not totally blown away yet. I've tried the build your own burger and was disappointed that it wasn't super fresh with the cheese nettled. The fries are definitely top notch when it comes to crinkle fries and they are normally fresh. The spicy chicken sandwich is not mad when it comes to a fast food option but it's a frozen patty so that gives it a little knock to me. Love the custard and and you can't go wrong with any of the flavors. Will give the burger another go maybe it was just a one off. read more
