When we opened the sandwiches there were two tiny pickle slices, two slices of red onion that were the size of a quarter and maybe, MAYBE one teaspoon of ketchup. Their vanilla malts are simply amazing. The best I've ever had (and the only reason I keep going back)! If you like any kind of malt candy, it's like drinking a thick version of it. I'm not a huge sweet eater and I absolutely love them. I don't like typical "fast food" hamburgers. These are similar to Steak n Shake in my opinion. I tried the sourdough melt and a regular butter burger; I wasn't extremely impressed. (Especially considering the 15 minute wait.) For a burger, I'd go the extra 8 minutes away and get one from Five Guys (I always order online and it's ready in about 7 minutes). The cheese curds are tasty. They don't taste any different than a baked mozzarella stick. I wish that they included some kind of dipping sauce. I'd definitely recommend trying it if you have some time. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait (10-15 minutes) and burgers that are above places like Burger King but below Five Guys. I went to Culvers with a work group who had all been before and assured me it was fantastic. They described it as the Steak and Shake of up North. I was first impressed with how friendly the employees were, from the moment we entered and ordered, to the person who brought our food. They seemed genuinely excited it was my first time and directed me through the fairly simple menu. I ordered a simple cheeseburger with fries, while my more experienced friends varied with more complex orders. I'm pretty picky with cheeseburgers, fast food or not, and I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor and size of this one. It tasted extremely fresh and the flavors were what I would expect from an approximately $4 burger. The fries were hot and fresh and just the type of texture I love. There was a coupon for a free ice cream on my receipt which I redeemed the same visit. Overall, I had a great experience. It is not someplace I will frequent, just do to the unhealthiness of the options, but not because of the flavor of the food. When the craving for a great cheeseburger hits, Culvers will most definitely be at the top of my list. read more

My family and I love Culver's! It's good fast food. Better than McDonald's. Price is slightly higher, however. Their butter burgers are so tasty, as are the onion rings and cheese curds. Awesome burgers and fries with a Wisconsin twist at this new fast-food drive through cum sit-down restaurant in north Tampa. The ButterBurgers are hearty and have a great char and texture, plus the buns are actually toasted, which is a huge plus, in my book. I had the signature Culver's Deluxe, which features two patties, cheese and lettuce and tomato. The crinkle fries are large and fried and salted just right. My friend had a kids' meal that was actually just right-sized for any normal adult. In fact, the only real qualm here is the portion size and calorie count, both of which are really too much for regularly consuming, unless, I guess, you live in Wisconsin and need to stay warm. Some of the desserts look mighty tempting, such as something they call a Concrete Mixer, which is a takeoff on the Dairy Queen Blizzard, featuring a ton of mix-ins. I went through the drive-thru I ordered a fish sandwich no lettuce no cheese just tartar sauce and fish extra crispy so after you order and you pay for your food you pull around kind of to the side of the building to wait for your food to be walked out to you so I'm waiting and I'm saying you know car behind me get food car in front of me get food and then shortly after without much time I receive a bag from a young man however before I even open the bag I realize hey I also ordered you're special cookies and cream right now that I saw on the menu he says oh you did? and looks at my receipt and says oh you did! As I'm talking to him and checking my food to save him a trip I say hey also my fish sandwich is supposed to be extra crispy and none of this cheese and lettuce just tartar sauce he says okay and I said yeah I don't want to have to have you make two trips you can bring all of my order at one time he perceives to go back inside and I'm waiting and I'm waiting and I'm waiting so then the lady who is I guess bringing shakes to car kind of pics inside my car and I'm like hey I'm waiting for a correct order I hope I haven't been forgotten she then goes inside to get my correct order and reassures me that she will be bringing it now just like the prior guy did mind you the guy who previously told me he would be back never came back she comes back out and she hands me a fish sandwich with cheese and lettuce on the side even though I did not ask for cheese and lettuce but at least it's on the side so I take it I did have to read tell her I'm still missing a shake the cookies and cream shake that's on the special on your menu she says oh okay This Time walkthrough the front side I guess to go get my shake expedited I had also shown her my receipt to show the timestamp of when I arrived versus the time I had been waiting at this point might now fish sandwich is getting cold and if you guys have ever had a fish sandwich you do not want that cold I guess because they rushed the fish sandwich so fast it did not have time to drain the grease so now my bottom bun is greasy getting cold and my shake is still not here needless to say after about six cars in the Drive-Thru they are very busy I received my shake which is not so shake like kind of melted but I will say the shake was very good I would suggest the cookies and cream shake still because of the flavor because of the chunky pieces of cookie and cream however I'm just I guess disappointed at how long it took and I'm one of those very descriptive people that say don't put lettuce don't put cheese Just Fish tartar sauce and bun extra crispy and a cookies and cream shake it was my first time here and I must say after a long day you just want your order to be right read more

So my mom saw this new resturant on Nebraska (where the old feed store was), she had visited this resturant in Kentucky and loved it. She wanted to take me, my sona nd my brother there so we could see how good it was. Well lets just say it was a bit of a let down. First the positives, the portions are pretty good for what you pay. My mom and I got the cod plate. It came with two big pieces of cod, and two sides for about $8. So not bad. My son and brother both got sandwhiches and fries for about $6. The meals do not come with drinks though. So we sit down and our food is brought out to us about 20 mins later (at least you know it's cooked fresh). Now the not so positive. My son asked for nothing other than cheese on his frisco melt, and sure enough they put onions on it. My mom's fish was under cooked. The took that back and made a new plate. The manager came out, but he was all of maybe 20 so he really didn't know how to handle this. This place is good, but it's not a place I will go out of my way for. read more

Love this place! This is the top of the list for fast food restaurants. Midwest corn-fed beef hamburgers, the best! Orders are cooked to order, so they may not be as fast as McD's or BK,.but you know your food is hot and fresh...worth the wait! I had the oversized pork tenderloin basket that you can only find in the Midwest...highly recommend! Daughter had a butterburger, she said was the best ever. Extremely underwhelming! My family is originally from Wisconsin so we were ecstatic when we heard there was a Culvers coming to town, then when we got a gift card for Christmas, it seemed "meant to be". Well, we finally got around to going tonight and we waited about 15 minutes to order, which was expected because the line was fairly large. We then got our drinks and sat down. After waiting another 25 minutes, we finally got our food. The food was okay, I can't really complain but at the same time I can't say that it came anywhere near my expectations. I had a bacon butterburger with cheese curds and the burger was ok. The meat was well seasoned and cooked but the cheese was not melted at all and falling off the burger in pieces. The cheese curds tasted pretty good but weren't warm by the time I got them so not great. My wife had the mushroom burger which is almost criminal to call it mushroom since it may have had the total of 1/2 - 3/4 of a small white mushroom cap on it diced. The onion rings she ordered were pretty tasty but suffered the same fate as my cheese curds, not warm. We then ordered food for some others who couldn't come, which didn't take long this time to order, and stood waiting for our to go order. We got our frozen items within a couple minutes and continued to wait for our 2 burgers to go (nothing special, normal burgers). We waited about 20 minutes because they were busy and I didn't want to be rude but when we asked the girl, she asked around and said it should be up soon. We waited about 10 more minutes and then finally stopped a manager (I think, hard to tell if anyone was in charge) and asked about our order. We then heard that person go over to a woman working at the "pass" and then watched her write up a ticket and hand it to the cooks and day "I need that on the fly". They didn't bother to tell us they lost our ticket but it was pretty obvious at that point. We waited another 15 minutes then finally got our burgers and had our frozen drinks remade and we were out, THANK GOD! I didn't expect "fast food" but I also didn't plan on spending 90 minutes for burgers and fried food. If I didn't have a gift card, I would have been extremely upset. They always get the order wrong, not sure if it's on purpose that they leave out stuff or what. Every time I order a bacon burger with everything, I always get the meat with cheese only. This also happened to me while in the drive-through and I had my dog, the line was long, so I didn't argue it. It is a shame to see a good chicken Restaurant, that had gone down in category since they open. Now not only they stop selling chicken, but their service had decline drastically, but not only lying to the customers about what they have and done have, before they sell it to the customer. We had a car full, and ordered shakes, sundaes, a root beer float, and a concrete mixer (don't insult them by calling it a blizzard- it is wayyyy better!) And, although the drive thru was packed, but we got our treats rather quick considering the line. We have not had burgers there yet, but will definitely head back to try them soon! A fresh new choice in the fast food market. They are a chain from up north and the menu reflect that. Cheese curds are not typically found on Southern menus so it is great to have somewhere close by to grab some. Butter burgers are sooo good! I also like the fries, there's just something about crinkle cut fries that makes them better. The only thing I've had that I'm not a fan of are the frozen custard products. I will occasionally get one, but I don't crave it like I do say, Dairy Queen or even "regular" ice cream. Something I would like to mention is that although this is "fast food", it isn't fast food in the sense of most places. You go to the counter to place your order and pay, and also get your own drinks/condiments, but that's where the similarity ends. You get a number to display and an employee brings your food to you. This is true whether you eat in the dining room or get a "to go" order. So the bad thing, if you are in a hurry, is that you aren't going to get handed premade food right after you pay. The double cheese burger was greasy and salty. Not the "good" kind, but the one bite, toss kind. The chicken whatevers look like they had been steamrolled flat, and paperthin, breaded chicken is for scallopini. Over breaded and cooked too long. Now, the cod fish sandwich was perfect. My wife and were so excited when culvers was being built but working in food service as managers we didn't get a chance to try you guys out until today. Got a warm welcome from employees that were leaving but a bare stare as we were asking questions at the register. So we figured out the menu ourselves because we would of just got yes or no answers. Was excited about the cheese churd and they were very delicious. I had the the melt and very good but a little greasy for my taste. As a manager I know customer service should be number one and the presence of a manager is very important and talking to new guest and building a relationship with the guest should be top of the list. read more

I don't eat fast food, but Culver's is actually really good! Their burgers taste kind of charred, which is awesome. They are soft, the meat is amazing, and the veggies are fresh. The fries are awesome. The milkshakes are awesome. The flavors of custard they have are kind of weird, they have a daily special and sometimes they are odd - but maybe I'm old fashioned.
