Stopped at the Mishawaka Culvers to get a turtle sundae, had a hard time understanding them taking my order, finally she said 1 scoop I said yes, she said $$4.27. I get to the window the kid goes to hand me the Custard its so small it barely covers the dish half full, I said to him, are you kidding me, for $4.27, he said nothing, I said well I won't be buying here again. read more

I haven't tried much off of the menu but they have great burgers for a decent price compared to other places of the same quality. Stay away from the grilled chicken sandwich, flavorless in my opinion. They have good fries and root beer. Heard bad things about their cheese curds, but I haven't tried them. They way the food is brought to you in the restaurant needs some work. Most of the time the employees look lost with your food. Overall a decent experience, but expect a bit of a wait. read more

Poorly designed parking lot as the drive thru blocks parking spots when busy. Service was fast and friendly being lunch time on a weekday. Ordered the bacon deluxe with a chili...burger was great, but chili tasted like out of a can and heated in a microvave and watered down. read more

I love love love this place. I've had the burger, fish sammich, chicken strips, fried chicken dinner, pot roast dinner, chili, cheese curds, French fries, onion rings, cole slaw, taters & gravy, green beans, milkshake and numerous flavors of the frozen custard.... Not all in one sitting. haha... Everything was good, although they are not my favorite onion rings in the world so I won't order them again. The chicken strips are divine, and the burger is one of my favorites in town now. Five Guys & Burger Monger is stupid expensive and way too big for me to enjoy. This burger is just right. Everyone is friendly, but I do think some staff is still getting used to the routine so some were quicker than others. But when someone is new & trying, I don't mind. Place is clean, but a little awkward in the design for ordering - sort of like Chik-fil-A where you kind of mill around near the counter and hope everyone is going to respect the order in which you came in. There has been a pretty good wait several times, but they are cooking your meal, not just pulling it off a warming shelf. It's also nice that they bring it to the table so you don't have to just stand there. I won't even try to describe how good the frozen custard is. You'll have to try it to understand. They will give you a sample of the flavor of the day. The milkshake is just fabulous. Kind of a mix between the Steak & Shake & the DQ -- it's a thick, but sip-through-a-straw consistency, and they have add-ons that can be blended or just added. I had the chocolate shake and they drizzled a liquid peanut butter sauce in the middle so I got just a little pb w/ each sip. Heaven. As for price - cheaper than the gourmet burger places; not as cheap as McD's... but who cares? This is real food, cooked to order and worth it. Almost 100% wrong order, missing stuff, and owner flat out refused to provide compensation for his store's mistake. Where is the Culvers hospitality and "promise" that every guest leaves happy?? Turns out it was sold out for corporate franchise greed. Ordered through the drive-thru for 4 people. When we got to where we were visiting, we were missing a kids meal and all burgers were made incorrectly to the point where we couldn't eat them. Had to piece together food at the place we were visiting and deal with unhappy kid who kept asking for the corn dog. Happened to be driving by the location on the way home (2 hours later) so decided to stop in to provide feedback and get compensation for the order. Wasn't expecting an issue due to Culvers company image. Initial employee got a "manager", who kept trying to figure out every specific item that was wrong vs what was correct. Then kept asking if we "had the hamburgers". I kept saying we received burgers but they weren't right and all we're looking for is a refund since the entire order was wrong or missing. Comes back out and says she's remaking it. I said we don't want food we just want a refund. She goes back to get someone else, who turns out to be the owner, Krys. He started down the courtroom style questioning of what was wrong with the food and WHERE the food was. I continue to tell him about the food and WHERE it was (I had to answer details on where the food was about 6 times during this visit). Now I clearly see they think I'm running a scam or something. He says all he is willing to do for me is remake the order. I told him we're not hungry and just want compensation. He refused. He could have given us a gift card, refund, or some other form of compensation but wouldn't do it. So this location is ok taking money from families and not providing what was paid for and won't take ownership for their mistakes. The Culvers website says "EVERY GUEST WHO CHOOSES CULVER'S LEAVES HAPPY." So I submitted online feedback. Waited weeks and no response. Called the corporate number and they said the feedback was sent to the owner (now I know why there wasn't a response). I told them the issue was with the owner and asked what they could do. They said there's not much they can do. Basically the corporate franchise group has not control over what the owners do and there's escalation path. They're selling a false brand to anyone who will fork out the money to put their name on a sign. They said all they really can do is send some coupons. So no real way to control consistency or quality. If an owner refuses to provide compensation to customers for their mistakes, I can only imagine what other areas within the kitchen and store they may be looking to cut costs... Definitely will not eat at any Culvers owner by Krys and will probably avoid Culvers in general due to lack of means to control consistency and quality. read more

I went to Culver's again yesterday to do homework with my mentee and eat some delicious food. They did not disappoint. I didn't get the cheese curds this time but I did get a snack pack burger. Perfectly cooked with good crispy bacon on top. My mentee got the Buffalo chicken tenders which she said she didn't really like but she ate them anyway. She just put tons of ranch and ketchup on them. Kids lol. They looked thin and dry and we're way over-priced ($9 for the basket) For a place that specializes in butter burgers and custard (had both....delicious) why is the chicken so expensive? Costs too much for inventory? I'm not in the biz so I don't know. I will continue to go back and try more menu items. Their salads look pretty tasty and would give an excuse to get the fried cheese curds again. They were delicious. Like a mozzarella stick but instead fried squeaky cheese. I hope they are getting enough steady business to stick around for a while. I still have free custard to redeem. read more

we have never lived where there is a Culvers, and discovered them in South Dakota many years ago. Yesterday we were happy to see one and went in for lunch....there was a mistake made on our order, and those people were so exceptionally nice and quick to fix it. I could not believe it...the double butter burger....had that special beefy, brown on it that you can find no where else...i just held it in my mouth and woundered when I would ever see another Culvers sign.....I really wanted to have fried chicken and mashed potatoes....I must find another.....a fan. read more

Somewhere between fast food and a sit down restaurant, Culvers is a different kind of restaurant concept. You order at the register and then sit at a table where someone will bring you food. They focus on quality farm ingredients made when you order so expect a bit of a wait after you order. The portions are very large and the ingredients definitely a cut above. Expect to pay $8-10 for entree type items like huge hamburgers, loaded roast beef and nice salads with fruit, etc. Known for their shakes and custard, like ice cream, these items are popular as well. They are very crowded so expect to wait, but that's OK as it will take you quite a while to read all of the menu options and choose. :-) The drive through is an alternate option but still runs a slower than other fast food chains. The quality wins out though so give it a try and just bring a little patience - its worth the wait. read more

Wanted to give this place time to sort out any type of newly-open restaurant drama. You'd think after all the time that has passed since they opened, they'd have a good idea of who is a good fit for their establishment. Not the case, as this place is lacking in the customer service department. I understand that the younger folks working there probably don't know a thing about customer service, however; that is where management is supposed to provide training. Take it back to basics. Hello, please, thank you, you're welcome, have a nice day, etc. Now for the food...it was ok! I had the double deluxe. That was pretty good. Thin patties, good pickles, good cheese and a tasty bun. Not greasy or soggy. Cheese curds need a different batter. Basically they are mozzarella stick minis. Mint Oreo Concrete was way over flavored with mint syrup an very liquidy. Suggest Renaming to liquid concrete. Fries were ok, all were not evenly cooked. Overall meal was not as offensive as the impersonal, unprofessional and obviously unhappy staff. Went to this Culcer's this afternoon and will NEVER go back. I thought it was a simple order. 2 Cement shakes. Took a number, to dine in, (#45) we waited and waited and waited. Finally a very nice young man came out to wipe off tables and asked if we had been waiting very long ? We replied YES. He went to see about our order and quickly returned with 1. He did not know which shake it was, so we helped him and figured it out. Then asked about the other one.Back he went. We waited again. The shake he brought was already melting. The young man proudly brought out the other shake and gladly took the melted shake back. We waited. This time a young lady came back put the shake on the table said nothing and left. To add salt in the wound the shake cup was over filled and dripping down the side of the cup and there was a whole in the cup. We kept wiping the table and it kept coming back. At that point. I was done. So, we threw the shake and ALL the napkins away and left. I should add that the one shake my friend had was very good, however, does not change my impression or mind about this Culver's. read more

Worst service. Waited 17 minutes in a drive through for an 8 count of chicken tenders. Line was dead. Before I left a car pulled in behind me and I yelled "20 minute wait time." The food came out quick and was delicious. The burgers aren't anything special but they were still good. What made the trip even better was the wonderful and attentive people that worked there. They were friendly and made sure our food came out fast. They also came around and checked on us throughout the meal to make sure we didn't need anything. The best part is the frozen custard. It was amazing and the fruit toppings were extremely fresh. I'd definitely recommend this place. However, stay away from the drive thru and just dine in. From what I can tell the drive thru line is pretty packed usually so it may take longer to get your food. read more

Food took over 45 minutes to arrive to my table the fries were cold and stale and you can tell they have been sitting under a heat lamp for some time before being sent out..and thats not the worst part my burger WAS RAW AND BLEEDING!!! After waiting for soooo long you would think my burger would be cooked all the way at least..when I brought my bleeding burger to the manager named bryant he was rude to me and told me that all he could do was remake the order but I would have to wait on it because they were busy and they have alot of other orders to make...Really?! I went through the drive thru w no one behind me and ordered three of their version A blizzard from Dairy Queen. It only had one topping so it shouldn't have been too confusing! The lady asked me to pull up front to the first line in the rain and five minutes later she came to my window. Instead of the three ice cream's she put this number thing that I told her I did not want on my window and to pull around to the front of the store. It was just rude and unnecessary! I was REALLY looking forward to the burger - I remember Culver's in Texas being so good. Got it home (after waiting for my order to be made fresh for me) and the burger had everything I did not want and nothing I wanted on it. To say the least - great disappointment. I tried to call several times to make them aware they are messing up drive through orders. They are very big on making your order fresh for you - and they failed - call went to voice mail and the voice mailbox is full. I really tried to eat the burger but a Cheeseburger with no cheese and loaded with Mustard (I picked off the Onion and Pickle I did not order). So I went back down there. I asked the Manger to look at my receipt and tell me what I ordered, she said a Cheeseburger. I said with what on it? She read the receipt - then I handed her the bag. She just looked at me and said I am sorry do you want your money back? Not worth it for a $3.00 burger. I said no - but you just lost a customer. A good manager would immediately let you know what they are going to do about the problem and offer something to make you happy. A good manager would not have let me walk out mad and unhappy. My mother and I decided to try this new to us place today. We did the drive-thru and was unsure of what to order-being our first visit. We went with the double burger, onion rings and shakes. Most places will charge a little extra when you order a shake in place of the coke for a meal. Well, our total amount for 2 burgers, 2 onion rings, and 2 shakes, all regular size-which I will say the shakes were VERY small- was $21.06. I almost had a heart attack. I had an issue with ordering, the girl just wasn't getting it right-however after repeating it several times, it was correct. I had to pull around and wait-not a long time, but for 21 dollars, I don't want to wait! I won't be going again, I wasn't impressed. It was like Steak & Shake and I can eat there for half of what this place cost me. They also charge for the condiments! WOW!! I don't know the background on this place, I've never heard of them, but as a Floridian, I'm not used to paying that much money for lunch from a drive-thru. read more
