Admittedly not such a fan of fast food anymore, I was actually looking forward to trying Culver's food, especially the legendary cheese curds. Not quite up for a burger, I went with the grilled chicken sandwich. It's definitely a quality chicken sandwich with a nice thick piece of chicken breast on a tasty bun. My only complaint is the lettuce on the sandwich. I wish they'd use large, green leaf lettuce instead of the chopped lettuce. Wait, I lied. I have another complaint. I had a nice chunk of breast bone in my mouth when I was chewing my sandwich. What the.... !!! Cheese curds....what a disappointment. I was expecting something incredible since they are basically legen...wait for it....dary. Well. 2 stars because my son liked his food. When we got there, we waited about 5 minutes before the kid came out to take our order. I wanted the sourdough melt, sounded good. I asked if I could have Swiss AND cheddar cheese. Guy says yes. I asked again since he sounded confused. He literally repeated Swiss and cheddar so I asked/confirmed one more time, Swiss AND cheddar? Again, was told yes. My son ordered his Butterburger w/cheese, fries. We waited. Got our order, immediately went to where we are staying to eat. My sourdough "melt" was an overcooked, rubbery mess with ONLY Swiss cheese. It was not at all what I ordered/expected. Very disappointing. Even more disappointed with how much it cost, and the fact the individual store couldn't care less. I wrote to THEM, nothing back. Twitter? They asked me to fill out the exact same form that was already ignored. Now they say wait for a response from our "local" store. It is NOT our local store, we live 2200 miles away, and we're regretting even going in. This was my first visit inside to Culver's. The staff was extremely friendly, accommodating, and made us feel welcome. With so many choices, the cashier kindly waited while we decided on our order. I happened to change my mind on my order, and she quickly addressed the new items. After getting our drinks, we headed to find a seat. They have regular tables and chairs, some booth seating, and even some covered tables outside. Seating for smaller and midsize parties. The food came out quickly and was delivered to our table. The burger, chicken strips, cheese curds, and Reese's shake came out looking just like the pictures, and tasted as delicious as they looked! The burger was made just as requested and the chicken was made with all white meat. The cheese curds were like mini mozzarella bites - perfectly bite size and at a good temperature. While this is no complaint, the shake was rather thick and the chunks of Reese's were rather big. My straw seemed to fail, but I was able to find a spoon and dove into my tasty frozen treat. Definitely glad I chose to get one! With so much food and choosing to eat my dessert first, I needed to take my leftovers to go. The cashier graciously provided a to go box and extra sauce to go. Prior to leaving, I did make a trip to the bathroom and was impressed on the cleanliness. It's fast food, it's -not- fast food. The food comes fast and made to order fresh but the quality is better than your average fast food joint AND better than you're average diners. Where do you start on the menu?! Start anywhere, everything is pretty nummy. I like the Wisconsin Cheddar Burger, and the regular butter burger and the fish and the chicken and the .... everything. Fan favorites? Come for dinner and stay for desert. Cheese curds are a great side to share with anything on the menu and the custard will have you bringing home some for later. There is never any argument when we want to eat here as a family. The interior is clean. Great family environment. Large booths so my crew of 5 can fit great. Food comes out hot. No complaints in that department. The staff is pretty friendly. Not overly so. I do feel that some are outstanding while others are disingenuous, but for the most part nothing that has popped up on my radar of seriousness though it does knock them a star. Very fresh tasting. I love how their lettuce is big green leaf lettuce and their tomatoes are nice and red. Tons of choices so your not just limited to burger and fries you can even get pot roast and green beans. I like that they support local team sports and even give people who come in their team uniforms 50% off their meal. Any team, any age and any number of people. I also like that they work locally with the FFA foundation. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is always helpful and friendly. If you are from NorthDakota/Minnesota(/Wisconsin) and live in Tucson... You might not get enough Walleye (or Cheese Curds.) Culver's can help you out. I was in last night and saw they had (I think it is for a limited time) two and three piece Walleye dinners. I almost ordered the three piece and am glad I didn't. The pieces of fish were quite generous and the breading was great! Fish was flakey and moist and the breading was crunchy and tasty. The meal came with fries and cole slaw, but you can substitute for other sides. This was a real treat. I don't have to wait to go home to get my walleye fix. The down side is that I go to Culver's specifically for the Butter Burgers and Concrete mixers. I may have to add regular "Special Occasion" visits for the Walleye dinners. Close college friends took us for our first Concrete quite a few years ago in South Dakota. We would make sure we stopped in PHX when we were there. Then they were in Casa Grande. AND NOW THEY ARE IN TUCSON. We love Culver's. First it reminds us of home and second, how could something called a Butter Burger be bad. (Notice I didn't say bad for you.) Big menu and an unusual but tasty burger. Cooked like Brundog's burger was before it went out of biz. Thin burger patties cooked on high heat. Good flavor. Twice as good when it's a Double Deluxe. Cheese Curds are something different and are good only if they hot. like the fries, but at over 700 calories they are best shared. Green Beans were a nice option to fries, and less than half the calories, but a flop. Canned and bland even with the sweet onions they add to them. Salad with a vinaigrette is available and when served with a cheese-less single burger, just 437 Calories for the meal. Custard is creamy but too sweet and in only 3 flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate and the flavor of the day, Cookie Dough. Forget the fruit toppings on the sundaes: tiny scraps of fruit in a sickly sweet syrup. Better plain. After all that, even without fries and without mayo on the burger, I had over 1700 calories for a single meal so I'm off to the gym for a couple hours. Was it worth it? I've been eying this relatively new Culver's since before it opened. I remember seeing Culver's in Phoenix as I drove around up there, wondering what they were all about. I finally got my chance today. A two-for-one coupon to introduce Culver's fell into my hands, so of course, I had to try Culver's! Culver's is about fast food, but pretty tasty fast food with some specialties. They grill their burgers--fresh, not frozen beef. They offer cheese curds (a Wisconsin delicacy, I believe), and a custard ice cream, among other goodies. Gary (one part of my usual dining trio-it was just 2 of us today) and I visited Culver's after our foray to the nearby Costco in northwest Tucson. We ordered the Butterburger, not really knowing what to expect. Although people were piling up to order quickly (it was around noon on Sunday), the line moved fast and we ordered. Having just partaken of Costco samples while shopping there, we bypassed the sides options. A young server delivered the goods to our table, finding us by the plastic number sign we had taken to our table. The burgers were very flavorful --there were two grilled patties in each burger and the bun is toasted on the inside. It came with a pickle and some condiments, and we added ketchup to the mix. I usually dislike the "fast food" type burger buns, but this one was soft and good. Trying to be a good doobie and to eat low carb and not too much refined whilte flour, I (reluctantly) discarded most of the top of the bun. That's one of my health food type tricks on the road. We were very satisfied and would defiitely return here. Gotta spread out the calories in installments--before it makes us spread out! We used to like coming here, but our last visit really turned us off. The first burger we received was clearly not properly cooked. We brought it back and another one was brought out to us. This was our first trip to Culver's and we're now big fans. We mainly went because we'd seen their commercials which emphasized their use of Wisconsin products. With Michael being a WI native we figured it was worth checking out. The food was excellent! Big portions for your money and fresh and delicious. We had the Cod basket along with their soup of the day and couldn't have been more pleased with the freshness and flavor. Each item was hot and made to order instead of sitting in holding bins like so many fast food places. They have a very extensive menu which includes Wisconsin Cheese Curds (undoubtedly a favorite of WI natives by the way Michael's face lit up!) Their frozen custard is excellent and the variety of flavors, toppings, and mix in's should put Dairy Queen to shame! The ingredients are also sourced from small farms in the Midwest which is a plus. The restaurant is immaculately clean and attractive with wide screen TV's throughout. The staff also brings your food to your table for you instead of making you wait by the registers. We'll certainly make Culver's a regular stop. We were pleased to be greeted by the owner who stopped by our table to make sure everything was in order (he's also a WI native.) read more

Crippy and hot. My hamburger was done just the way I asked for. When I was almost done eating maybe three bites left I found a long black hair. I'm completely Grey and so is my husband. I married a Midwestern girl from Michigan, so I know all about Culvers. Its a chain from Wisconsin and they are starting to spread across the country. They are extremely popular in Wisconsin and Michigan. I would say Culvers is in between fast food and fast Casual type of place. The Arizona version is pretty much exactly like its Midwestern versions. The "Butterburgers" are near the top of my fast food burger list...only topped by In N Out. But the Cheese Curds are something very midwestern and Culvers is the only place I ever found in Tucson or Arizona that has it. The custard is also something I always got when visiting the inlaws. We got a Ruben, a chicken sandwich, two fries and two small drinks and the Bill was just over $19. We could have gone to in n out. We should have gone to subway.
