Wow Culvers you can do better I went to the drive through I ordered the fish dinner ( usually pretty good ) this time it's a no. The bun was on the edge of being stale, no butter and the fish was laying on the fries which were soggy and the lemons looked like someone sucked on them. Horrific customer service. Triple check your order. Keep your receipts. They get orders wrong and are stingy about making it right. They refuse to give you anything unless you have a receipt or remember the order number. Robbery. Nothing wrong with the food. It's the orders to go. Without exaggeration I have found errors in my orders about half the time. (Never when I dine in though) Mostly missing food but also extra food I didn't order. (Extra cheese curds once. Thanks I guess.) The sauce is constantly missing. (No ketchup for me this time.) I ask for extra ranch (which they charge for) and it's often missing. I constantly get up charged for double burgers when I've ordered a single. I received a mushroom and swiss burger with no mushrooms on it. They said they couldn't do anything about it because I didn't call back immediately. (I'm just tired after work. I don't want to make calls I want to go to bed. So I made do with the wrong food.) I once ordered a custard concrete mixer, it had the wrong ingredients. A manager offered me random mistake desserts from other customers (which were not at all similar products.) and when I responded in a confused fashion that I would like the concrete I ordered and already paid for, he wandered away (Like mid conversation. It was weird.) He finally came back like 10 minutes later and asked what I was waiting for. (The 2 untouched mistakes still melting on the counter) What was that? Coke with no ice? There's ice. Extra ketchup? No ketchup. On the many occasions I have called back immediately they mess that up too. I've repeatedly been offered vouchers or coupons and given my address. (I'm like a 30 minute drive out) They have never been sent. Not once. When I called back once to talk about it after a week of waiting they had no idea what I was talking about and refused to do anything. Every time I have an issue they treat me like I'm trying to scam them and seem to be well practiced at deflecting anything that would cost them. I suspect they have constant issues with incorrect orders and customers that are far more irascible than me. I'm polite and a bit non confrontational. I understand people make mistakes but this is absurd behavior. I don't care how good the food is. I'm tired of getting robbed. read more

Came here for dinner on a weekday evening, and the drive thru line didn't have a long wait. We were able to order our food and had it made fresh quickly. Staff was friendly. The food at Culver's provides more options than other fast food places, and the food here tasted fresh. Just wish some of the French fries were less soggy. read more

Since I moved to the icy cold or morbidly hot & humid Northwest Suburbs of Chicago one year ago (What an Idiot), I have eaten at more Fast-Food Restaurants than I knew even existed. And I have to say, if I eat another meal-deal from the dollar menu of McDonald's or Burger King I am going to go insane (if I don't die first from synthetic food-chemical & artificial coloring overdose). But somehow, "Culver's" turned it around a little for me. Sure, "Culver's" is almost an amalgamation of every cheap-ass fast food place in the Universe, with it's FAKE Ambience and it's Robotic Service - But after you cut through the acrid flesh of that fetid industrialized food-oyster, there is a tiny, barely noticeable pearl. When I was a young boy, a child of divorce, I lived for half a decade with my narcissist older father and his younger second wife. She was from Scotland, where, even though they speak English, raise children so strictly it was as if they were from Mars. I also had a baby brother via their loins, and I adored him. The reason I mention this in a 'Culver's' review is because of my "Allowance". Nowadays children seem to be 'just handed money' when they need it. But back in 1973, when I was 12 YO, to receive my weekly allowance, I was required to do "Chores", which was similar to "Share-Cropping" (like washing all of the dinner dishes every night, pulling all of the weeds out [and we had an acre], removing snails from our 6 orange trees, and taking out the garbage [including dragging the heavy garbage cans from the rear of our house up a hill dirt path about 100 yards], plus any extra things like cleaning & cutting vegetables for my father's evening stir-fry, cleaning the fireplaces, raking leaves, cleaning cars, pruning our fruit trees [we had almost 30], and help with any other thing that came up, including babysitting on my parent's date nights). And for all of this I received 25 cents per week, because that was what my father received when he was 12, during the Great Depression. Eventually I protested, and the amount was raised to 50 cents. Still, I was able to save this, untouched for months. And when I had finally accumulated enough money, I would go with my friends to the nearby Mall to see a Movie and eat a pile of Cheeseburgers at McDonald's. So Fast-Food has always held such an important place in my heart that, when I was young, I would have sacrificed almost anything to eat it. Culver's offers some of the Best Fast food options that I have ever tasted, from their Burgers to their Fish Sandwich, to their Deep Fried Shrimp, to their Shakes & Soft-Serve Ice Cream. The prices at Culver's are more than any other traditional fast-food joint except for maybe 'Chick-fil-A'. But believe me, if the decor here was more like a diner, or even a high-end Coffee Shop, the food would be fine, and no one would even flinch at the prices. Enjoy your Culver's Cheeseburger. Updated 2/21/19 When and why did Culver's change the bread on their burgers? They used to butter and grill the buns which made eating their famous butter burgers a delight. Not anymore! Last night my family and I ate dinner at this location and were baffled by a couple of things. First, our tray was brought to the table with only two sandwiches and accompanying sides. There were three of us and we all three ordered food. The server immediately went back to get the missing food items and delivered them to us. We were grateful this was fixed quickly. Second, the buns used on our burgers were taller than usual, dry and hard to eat for those wearing braces. I took the bottom bun off of my sandwich, turned the burger and toppings around and ate it that way. I meant to snap a photo of the omitted bread, but forgot. We have the Culver's Calendar and usually look forward to our monthly visit. Not looking forward to returning in March. I wonder if this is a chain-wise bread change or just the Woodstock, IL location? Have been coming to this location for years. Great location on Route 14 between Woodstock and Crystal Lake. Newly renovated dining area. Clean, open floor plan. Tiled floor along the main walkways. Carpeting under the booths and tables. Plenty of seating for families. Friendly staff takes your order, makes your food, serves to your table, cleans up. Forgot something, just ask. They are quick to fix any issues. Clean restrooms for men and women. Drive through. Outdoor seating, when the weather permits. Newly paved parking lot with parking on both sides of the building. Delicious burgers, fries, cheese curds, and custard. Their soda fountain is self serve. I have to say, this was my worse Culver's experience yet. I asked for a concrete mixer but just asked that they don't mix it..but still evenly distributed the toppings so they aren't just on top. Apparently this was a difficult request. The guy comes back with a thin layer of toppings in the middle only. I ask him to put some on top and by the time I drove away and pulled in the parking lot to eat it...it was completely melted to a liquid. I arrived to have lunch with a friend to Culvers on Route 14 in Woodstock. T place my order there was a language barrier for sure. It was slow in the store and I ordered a large french fry and white with raspberry shake, my friend ordered a chili and a white milk. We were given a number and took our seats. Went to Culver's for the second time this month to give them another try. The first time was around 7pm ordered a Rueben and had to wait 20 minutes for it when they weren't busy. It was terrible. Hardly any meat and the meat was full of fat and grizzle. There was a little bit of sauerkraut melted with the small amount of cheese and it was all very greasy. Today we went and the food was all slightly warm and their hamburgers are so thin now. They were very busy so the fries, cheese curds and burger should of been hot. Both were the same exact size (admittedly this may have been to our benefit). However both were completely melted by the time we got them, and the snickers also had peanut buttercup in it. This is a very specific review for one specific menu item: Ok, so chicken fingers are a really simple American food item that pops up on plenty of menus, right?. Over time, I've eaten chicken fingers from most of the fast food places as well as plenty of nicer dine-in restaurants. Some are over-breaded; some are battered and super greasy (that'd be Chili's); some are skinny, dry, and covered with a breading that's more like shards that cut up your mouth (Popeye's). Well, my husband recently introduced me to Culver's chicken fingers, and they are the best chicken fingers in the world. They're lightly breaded, juicy, and meaty. They go perfectly with a ranch cup. They're satisfying when you need something greasy! I know I'm a dork for feeling so passionate about fried meat, but they're that good. I feel like ordering anything from Culver's is pricier than any of the other drive-thru options in town, but I also need to remind myself that the quality is 10x better than all the other chains too. read more

Whenever I go to visit my brothers in Chicago I'd see signs for a place called Culver's. I left it as a mystery for many years, only to let the curiosity grow. So it was on my last visit to Chicago that I decided to learn about this place. My brothers were not too excited, but I chalked that up to the fact that they were immune as to them a Culver was no more special then lots of snow in the winter. They each had a Bacon Butter Burger, which I took a bite of. It was better then most fast food burgers, but not extraordinary as I hoped. The crinkle fries were awesome though, and glad to see them as they aren't commonly available. I tried a unique item, a Pot Roast sandwich, which was delicious but needed a bit more sauce, good but again not as amazing as I hoped. Next time I'll try some shakes, which I hear are pretty good. It's probably a good thing Culver's is only available to me when I go to Chicago so it still retains some of it's specialness. read more

Compared to other Culver's locations, the one is Woodstock is consistently stingy with ingredients when they make their "flavor of the day" custard. Bonfire S'mores had no marshmallow, a little chocolate and no graham crackers. Turtle Dove in a waffle cone had pecans, 1 chip of chocolate, and no caramel. I loved the toasted pecans but I wanted the rest of the ingredients, too. The burgers are fine but the main reason I go is custard. Employees are nice and service is good. read more

3 bad experiences in a row has left a very bad taste in my mouth. This location is right by my house and it's so convenient. The problem is that the food is not good and the location is not run well. In my most recent experience, I went inside to order 'to go' because I wasn't sure what I wanted. When I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and I didn't get a receipt and they didn't even ask if I wanted one. After the food was ordered, I noticed some sandwiches put in the window. I figured they were mine, but didn't want to assume anything. They sat....and sat....and sat. Over 5 minutes later, one of the workers finally started bagging the food. This was all disappointing, but the most disappointing part of the experience was the actual grilled chicken breast. It was lukewarm and chewy. There was nothing grilled about it. It should be renamed the 'microwaved' chicken breast. I was, needless to say, not happy I forked over $4.50 for this poor excuse of a sandwich. If there was a manager in the place, they were incognito, because everyone looked 19 or younger and it was more of a social gathering than an actual business. Culver's, as a franchise, has been going downhill really fast, it seems. About 10 years ago, I remember getting excited about going because the food was always fresh, tasty and reasonably priced.
