I really enjoyed the layout of the cafe and fall decor. There is plenty of seating. Surprisingly it is very quiet and peaceful although it is right near a bus stop. Their jasmine tea and croissants are delicious. The owners are very nice cool and relatable. I regret not coming in more often. I usually grab a snack and leave . I plan to come more often to do some work

Walked into this cafe on a late Monday morning as I was staying in the neighborhood. I ordered an iced Nutella latte with oat milk and the cup of brooklyn special bagel sandwich. The place was decently packed, but I was able to snag a spot along the window. My latte came out quickly but after 15 mins and observing others getting their food order before me, I went up to the cashier to check on my bagel sandwich. The worker told me it was almost done, then she went into the back, and immediately gave it to me. I'm guessing it was sitting there for a minute. The bagel sandwich was good, not very toasted, but the flavor was there.

I came here today and it was simply delightful just a small coffee shop. The coffee was great, nothing Like a good cold brew to give me that extra boost of energy. The person who rung me up was also very nice as well. They have a punch card so after purchasing 9 coffees I get one cup for free. It is a bit pricey but then again most mom and pop coffee shops are. I like that there is enough seating without feeling too cramp even in a small place.

Cozy neighborhood cafe. Friendly staff and delicious food. Had the Italian sandwich with an iced tea. It hit the spot. I will definitely be back.

Their lattes are pretty good. Just the right amount of sweetness without giving me a sugar high. I added the Cup of Brooklyn special to my pickup order a few days ago and was a bit disappointed. I prefer my bacon to be well done and the eggs didn't seem like they were seasoned. The service wasn't the greatest either. I understand establishments have off days but I've heard the same thing from friends.

A nice cozy spot to have a cup of coffee and some good eats if you're hungry. Its my first time but I love the aesthetic in here. The Nutella latte is so good!!

Super fast service and really cute vibes! Went for a post yoga treat and was not disappointed. Tons of pastries to choose from and the turkey sandwich was delicious. Seating can be a little limited during busy times so be ready for that but we squeezed in at a communal table. Will definitely be back! Hearts on hearts!

    Salmon Sandwich, Lavender Latte

This is my second visit. My first was 10 or so years ago before I lived around here and it was good but I just had a coffee. I felt Devocion brewed their coffee better but the lavender syrup was delicious and potent. I popped in today for a snack in addition to trying the lavender latte again. The sandwich is HUGE, I had to eat it open face. The tomatoes and onions were cut a bit chonky so luckily I was home to cut them smaller. Sadly there was only cream cheese on one half but the abundance of salmon made up for that. The sandwich was just ok (the half without cream cheese tasted better). Overall it's as I remembered and I'll stick to just drinks as that lavender is quite pleasant still.

But just remember to be courteous, that this is a business so it's okay to do work here but if you're gonna be chilling for a while make sure you're getting some drinks every hour or tipping the 'tender. Also careful with some of the hot drinks they can be really.... hot. I burnt the roof of my tongue on my hot cider drink.

The butter croissant is truly the perfect example of a well done croissant. Light, buttery, crispy, and flaky. Every bite was fantastic. My next favorite is the black sesame pinwheel. Everything I love about a croissant except now with black sesame cream, which was sooo rich, luscious and not too sweet! The blueberry danish was a summer special, layered with fresh and sweet blueberries. The pistachio pain suisse was filled with nutty pistachio and the layers were super crispy and covered with syrup. This pastry is on the heavier end. Lastly, the matcha danish is the one I was most excited to try as a matcha lover. I was a little thrown off by the layer of chocolate beneath the matcha. But as I continued to eat it, the matcha ended up overpowering it, which is a plus to me! Staff here are friendly and always ready to recommend goods or to chat about your day. Paloma has a solid roster of pastries and they always have seasonal offerings too.

It provides the perfect setting for Barzakh Cafe, a social club/gathering spot of sorts for the pan-Maghreb community across New York. We came for the couscous celebration on July 4th. The owner is Mauritanian, and the couscous reminded me of the ones I've eaten in the northern reaches of Senegal, with tender potatoes, carrots, and cabbage. I had been hoping for something closer to kosksi, but the dish was enjoyable nonetheless. We sat outside in the casually-laid out backyard while hearing songs blending French and Maghrebian Arabic emanating from inside. Barzakh also hosts events from outside the region, including qawwali nights and the like. It is a rare unique space in the neighborhood.
