Walked into this cafe on a late Monday morning as I was staying in the neighborhood. I ordered an iced Nutella latte with oat milk and the cup of brooklyn special bagel sandwich. The place was decently packed, but I was able to snag a spot along the window. My latte came out quickly but after 15 mins and observing others getting their food order before me, I went up to the cashier to check on my bagel sandwich. The worker told me it was almost done, then she went into the back, and immediately gave it to me. I'm guessing it was sitting there for a minute. I came here today and it was simply delightful just a small coffee shop. The coffee was great, nothing Like a good cold brew to give me that extra boost of energy. The person who rung me up was also very nice as well. They have a punch card so after purchasing 9 coffees I get one cup for free. It is a bit pricey but then again most mom and pop coffee shops are. This is my second visit. My first was 10 or so years ago before I lived around here and it was good but I just had a coffee. I felt Devocion brewed their coffee better but the lavender syrup was delicious and potent. I popped in today for a snack in addition to trying the lavender latte again. The sandwich is HUGE, I had to eat it open face. The tomatoes and onions were cut a bit chonky so luckily I was home to cut them smaller. Sadly there was only cream cheese on one half but the abundance of salmon made up for that. The sandwich was just ok (the half without cream cheese tasted better). They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and with that said I ordered a breakfast burrito, zucchini cheddar muffin, and latte for breakfast :). This is a great spot right off the J train at Gates Avenue. So if you want to stop and get coffee or whatever before you get on the train you're at the right place. Just one thing. This establishment is amazing classic ambiance with great music. The staff is professional and polite and will give you many recommendations from their creative menu. They have unique flavors all house made. The food is amazing I had the bacon egg and cheese on a everything croissant and a Caramel Chili Latte. The sandwich was good I had to order another. When we left this place we both said to one another why we didn't think to go to this place before? We met so many people in there and we will be regular patrons here. I live next door and love coming here for coffee on the weekends and in the morning before work. They have a great drip coffee and a consistently phenomenal oat milk latte. Downside is that they open at 8 on the weekdays and 9 on the weekends. As an early riser and far commuter, it definitely is not convenient and often deters me from coming as often as I would. The vegan cream cheese is great but the rest of the food menu i've tried is subpar. It's okay but not very flavorful and a little dry. They have a rewards system which I appreciate a lot. The baristas are nice and have started remembering my order which definitely adds to making it feel like my local spot and keeps me coming back. Overall, I'm a regular and will stay one. They use devocion coffee and make a mean vanilla latte. The food is excellent too, and always made fresh. I especially like the turkey sandwich, their bagels with scallion and dill cream cheese, and their egg sandwiches on croissants. The staff and owners are super friendly and accommodating, they once even gave me a free donut while I was working on applications. It was loaded with blueberries. The cheddar scone is delicious and pairs perfect with cheddar soup (which I happened to have leftovers of at home when I picked it up).
